As a guest who has visited this establishment on multiple occasions, I believe I have well-founded reasons to evaluate both the positive aspects and the negative evolution I have noticed during my fourth consecutive stay in the same hotel. First, I want to highlight the evident improvements: congratulations on successfully controlling the seagulls in the pool area and the total absence of ants in the restaurant! Likewise, I appreciate the excellent work of a large part of the cleaning team —true professionals whose dedication is a pleasure to thank—, the always polite attitude of the waiters who clear plates on time, and the great work of the omelet specialist, who this year has demonstrated much more organization and punctuality. However, several operational and maintenance problems persist and have worsened, which I feel obliged to point out in a constructive manner: * Room maintenance: The sliding door of the shower was broken (it closed by itself, preventing it from drying properly) and the bottom seals were worn or torn, causing large puddles on the floor after every shower, no matter how careful one was. * Housekeeping and linen service: The quality of service varies greatly depending on the room maid. I encountered poorly cleaned showers, dirty floor mats or towels left unchanged, and a total lack of a unified criterion on what and when bedding should be replaced. In addition, I continue to find bath towels that are very worn out, with holes or unwashed stains. * Restaurant and terrace: Although the staff is pleasant, there are coordination failures. Some waiters fail to calculate the morning pace of guests: on several occasions, it was not possible to have breakfast on the terrace because 'it was not ready,' despite the tables visually having tablecloths. * Pool area and sunbeds: This year, the situation with sunbeds blocked with towels all day without any control has been unsustainable. In the afternoon it was almost impossible to find a spot, which even generated tensions and direct conflicts between guests when some removed others' towels. It would be very necessary for lifeguards to supervise this rule. * Departure day incident: The most regrettable point, which ruined the end of my stay, happened on the day of my departure. Two days in advance, I requested a takeaway breakfast at reception, as I faced a very long trip at 6:00 a.m. My surprise and frustration were huge upon discovering at that time that the request was not registered or had been forgotten. I had to start my long journey hungry and without options to eat or grab a coffee until hours later. I hope these detailed comments are received in a constructive spirit so that these shortcomings can be corrected in the future.

Lovely hotel, but very disappointing final day. I would have given the hotel 4 or 5 stars here but we've been left a real sour taste due to a bad experience from the lifeguard Miguel. Overall, we had a really lovely stay at Hotel Bahia. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable, our sea-view balcony was nice, and pool area was pretty. Get to the pool early as there aren't many beds & it opens at 10.30am. Best food we found was in the old town which is super easy to jump on a bus or get a taxi. Some staff were also fantastic, particularly the women on the help/tour desk and some of the wonderful pool waiting team & a few of the lifeguards. Unfortunately, our final day left a real dampener note on our holiday. The hotel has a 40-minute rule for unattended sunbeds, but throughout the week we regularly saw guests leaving towels on beds for hours without anything being done. On our final day, the lifeguard, Miguel, removed our belongings and literally threw them onto one lounger by the baby pool & gave our beds to other guests (we assume were his friends due to his attitude), despite plenty of other beds being available & beds that had been unattended already for hours that day with towels left on them. His attitude towards us was extremely rude and dismissive, while he was laughing and chatting with the guests who had taken our beds. He then told his manager that we had been away for over an hour, which was completely untrue. When we raised this with management, they simply took his word for it and refused to allow us to make a formal complaint. Although we were offered another bed after a while, by that point we felt so uncomfortable with Miguel's dishonesty and attitude that we no longer wanted to use the pool at all. Miguel clearly needs further training in customer service, communication and how to deal with guests appropriately. If you are enforcing hotel rules, professionalism and honesty should be a minimum. The issue wasn't that a rule was enforced, but the inconsistent and extremely poor way it was handled. It is such a shame because the hotel itself is lovely and, until this incident, we would have left with an overwhelmingly positive impression. For a 4-star hotel where guests are spending thousands of pounds, I would expect much better customer service and management.
Rooms ok for the price. We very much appreciated the management of the pool side area. Ok. Staff not necessarily totally fluent in Spanish but so what. The hotel is in Spain…. My bug bear was the odd, bamboo fittings in the bathrooms. At least use a flat head screw. Horrid. Wobbly things. Apart from that, nice hotel.
This hotel presents itself as a premium property, and for the most part, it lives up to that image. The rooms overlooking the Atlantic Ocean are simply stunning and offer breathtaking views. Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and featured a large, comfortable bed with high-quality linens and a very comfortable mattress. The breakfast was generous, with a wide variety of options to choose from. The swimming pool is beautifully positioned, allowing guests to enjoy uninterrupted ocean views while swimming, which creates a truly relaxing atmosphere. We also tried two tuna dishes at the hotel’s restaurant, both of which were delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, professional and relaxed. However, I feel that a hotel of this caliber should pay closer attention to the details, as these are often what distinguish a truly exceptional luxury experience from an ordinary one. For this reason, I was disappointed by the condition of some of the towels, which showed visible signs of wear and tear. While this may seem like a minor issue, I do not consider it acceptable for a hotel that positions itself as a premium destination. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable, and the location, facilities, service, and spectacular Atlantic views make this hotel a great choice when visiting Cádiz. With a little more attention to the finer details, it could offer an even more outstanding experience.
The location is amazing. Right on the beach. Great sound proof windows and doors means the evening noise stayed outside. Breakfast was great. Tons of choices. Staff was fine but we hardly interacted with them. My issue is with the bathroom. Specifically, the doors. The toilet and shower were behind frosted glass doors that provide no sound barrier. And they had gaps in the frosting so you could see into the toilet and shower area. I’m sorry but I prefer privacy when I’m in the bathroom. It was managed since it was my husband and me but if we’d have had kids with us or had been traveling with a friend it would have been unacceptable. I really dislike this trend of glass bathroom doors in hotels. Also - the only elevator was on the far side of the hotel so we had to walk back and forth quite a bit to get to them. Seems odd. Despite many positive attributes I cannot recommend this hotel based on the lack of bathroom privacy.
