Beautiful venue but in a very sad state. Our room decor was a questionable mix of very old furniture, stained lamp shades and very modern pieces and it smelled badly of cigarette smoke, especially in the bathroom. On day two we were informed that the kitchen is in renovation and therefore the breakfast choices were limited. It is a shame as the property is so beautiful…

The bathroom was filthy - dust, dirt, mould etc. It has not had a proper deep clean in a very long time. We told reception. The room was also tired. They said it was because it was old - no excuse, just poor cleaning and maintenance. They offered a new room but we thought thought that would just be the same. We asked for it to be cleaned properly. It wasn't. The breakfast was good. The hotel could be really nice, but it not being looked after. I do not know why it has 4 stars. There is not even an Iron, Kettle of Coffee machine.

The hotel in itself is in a nice setting (old palace). However the rooms were extremely out of style with decorations and amenities at least 50 years old. Further the hotel has by far the worst breakfast I have ever eaten in my life. Eggs looked rotten, bacon was only fat and even the bread felt worst than what you can find in the cheapest supermarket. All my colleagues who stayed in other hotels and a more pleasant stay than the one I had here. Would not recommend.
