Steve was amazing!!! He picked us up very early because our ship docked at 7am. We ended up being the only people on the tour, so we got the choose the whole itinerary. Steve speaks perfect English and is super knowledgeable. He was so kind and made us feel very safe. We highly recommend this tour. Thank you Steve!!!!!

The sky walk has drawn attention as the first of its kind in Korea, and for its long, curving trail. To date, the first section of the walk has been installed and measures 104 m, stretching around Geobukseom Island. When completed next February, the Songdo Sky Walk will set a new record as the longest ocean walk in Korea at 296 m in length and 2.3 m in width. The sky walk will also have a viewing platform stretching out into the water to give visitors a spectacular view of the coastline. Transparent tempered glass was also used in sections of the flooring for the walk, allowing for clear views of the waters below and giving people the true sensation of walking on water. It is positioned 5.5~8 m above sea level making it far closer to the sea than the Oryukdo Sky Walk, which is positioned 37 m above the shore, along a seashore cliff. Everyone will be able to enjoy the thrilling and exciting experience of watching blue waves under their feet.
Gamcheon Culture Villiage is formed by houses built in staircase-fashion on the foothills of a coastal mountain, earning this village the nickname of "Machu Picchu of Busan." The many alleys cutting through this community are vibrantly decorated with murals and sculptures created by the residents.
Busan’s modern movie district was originally little more than a pair of cinemas that were built following Korea’s liberation from Japanese colonial rule over half a century ago. However, major renovations took place ahead of the first Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in 1996, and the newly transformed district was named BIFF Square on August 14, 1996
Following the Korean War, refugees who had fled to Busan set up stalls in order to make a living, and this was the beginning of the Gukje Market (gukje meaning "international"). The Gukje Market is one of Korea’s largest markets; each alleyway is crowded with stalls, and it connects to the Bupyeong Market, Kkangtong Market, and other smaller markets. The market stocks such a wide variety of goods, that you can find almost everything you need right here.
The Jagalchi Market is Korea's largest seafood market. After the Korean War the market solidified itself as a fish market. Most of the people who sell fish are women, so the women who sell here are called 'Jagalchi Ajumma,' 'ajumma' meaning middle-aged or married women. This market represents Busan and is famous throughout the country. If you visit you can eat fresh raw fish right at the market. Even these days you can see women selling mackerel, sea squirts (ascidians) and whale meat on wooden boxes along the road.
We will drive you guys to the top. Hwangnyeongsan Mountain is located in the heart of Busan. With an altitude of 427m, the mountain is the second highest mountain in the Geumnyeon Mountain Range. The mountain is mostly made up of andesite and the summit is relatively flat. Some parts of the mountain are also characterized by exposed bedrocks. ( We will be driving to the top )
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is one of Korea’s most beautiful Buddhist temples, uniquely situated along the rocky coastline of Busan. Unlike most temples located in the mountains, it offers stunning ocean views, peaceful surroundings, and traditional Korean architecture. Founded in 1376, the temple is a popular destination for visitors seeking cultural experiences, beautiful scenery, and memorable photo opportunities. Visitors can explore its colorful buildings, stone pagodas, and statues while enjoying the refreshing sea breeze.

Our guide Steve spoke very good American/English, his knowledge on most subjects was outstanding and he made our tour a memorable experience. Would highly recommend Steve as your guide.
Sue our guide and Joe our driver were outstanding! They picked us up from our cruise ship in a lovely van. They both provided great insights about the various places we visited and were helpful and cheerful all day.
Good tour would recommend. The guide was lovely and very informative. The lunch was also good. It was a nice size party - only six of us.
Might be the best all day tour I ever experienced. Fabulous tour guide who took us to new and old Korea. Korean lunch was equally great. Sue was our tour guide. Highly recommend her.
We had an outstanding day in South Korea with our tour guide Sue. We saw everything we were to see and had a wonderful traditional Korean Bar-B-Que. Sue was very knowledgeable, and had an excellent grasp on the English language. We had a tour in Nagasaki two days later for similar cost and there was no comparison.
A wonderful day from start to finish. Our guide, Sue, and driver Joe, were prompt, friendly and professional. We saw all of the main sights of Busan and had a wonderful Korean BBQ lunch. Sue provided excellent information on the sights and the history surrounding them. We highly recommend this tour, and Sue as a guide. It is worth every penny.
Sue was engaging, informative, and spoke English fluently. The driver was also very helpful. The two of them made a great team, and we felt that we got to see the best of Busan during our short time in the city.
Steve collected us from the Busan cruise terminal promptly, and with our name on a card. We had already given Steve our preferences.of places to visit and his itinerary did not disappoint. A great tour around Busan, including the Temple, Culture Village, and great viewing points. Steve took us to a Korean barbecue restaurant where he guided us through the menu and set us up to cook and enjoy a great meal. Steve left us to complete our cooking and collected us at the end of the meal. A great tour with an extremely knowledgeable, friendly guide in an air conditioned car with water supplied. Highly recommended
We knew very little about South Korea and were interested in the history and culture. We asked our guide to show us the city addressing the community as a whole. She excelled in helping us visit the community and learn about the whole country.
We were surprised that we were the only ones in the tour. As a result, we received special care by our guide Chris. The weather was beautiful with slight wind. On top of the tourist spots that we had visited, we received an excellent lesson on the history of Korea. Chris speaks American English with no accent at all. This was the first time we were in a private tour, it didn't matter if it were by design or not. Good job, Chris!
Gamcheon Village had beautiful views. The temple was also interesting. Chris did a great job navigating the city and dealing with a difficult passenger.
Steve is an excellent guide and fluently bilingual. City is very impressive, with many North American size cars and skyscrapers. We enjoyed a in-restaurant BBQ lunch cooked at our table. Gamcheon Village is very colorful.
Our guide was wonderful! Steve was fun, informative, and on time. He was quuckly flexible with weather problems and communications with him and the company was excellent. We would use Steve and Viator again if we are in Busan.
Steve met us at the cruise port at the correct time . He is a great guide and since he was raised in the US , his english is impeccable ! He eagerly answered my many questions . Lunch was Korean BBQ which I had never experienced before and we thoroughly enjoyed it . Everything was great but compared to other tours we did in South Korea , I feel this one was a bit over priced .
This tour was canceled because there weren't enough participants. I found out the night before and didn't have time to research other local tour groups that offer the tour or similar one with an English speaking tour guide.
Steve was a great guide for us, taking us around Busan’s west side and telling us the stories of the city through the eyes of a local. Steve is very knowledgeable about the history and he combines that with the ability to see it from a stranger’s point of view. We were also lucky to be the only two on the tour, which made it more relaxed and catered to our wants.
Steve was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable about the city, took great photos, and showed us the best spots of this beautiful city. We were lucky enough to be just two persons and had the whole day to ourselves. Steve adjusted the tour based on our inputs, which was much appreciated as well!
Sailed around Japan on Celebrity, November 2019 with a stop in Busan/South Korean, which was our last port. Booked shore excursion with viator and our guide STEVE was the Perfect person. We did tours in all previous ports, all tour guides were good. But Steve was EXCELLENT!!! He surely stole the cake, on this full day trip. The best guide to have. He spoke perfect fluent English. He knows his stuff well, was knowledgeable, patient, funny, lots of info and interacted with everyone.at all times. No slow and dull moments. He even picked up bottles of water for everyone. Thanks. Busan is beautiful and lots to see. We enjoyed the Authentic Korean lunch which was included. Steve explained the different foods served and everyone savoured it all. The bus was like a disco party bus- beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Best of the Best by far. Thanks again Steve, great job. Loved it. E&M Canadians
Gamcheon Culture Village - in a nice sunny weather all the beatyfull colours makes great fotos - away from the rush and the fuss of Busan -grab a taxi there plenty to go back with
Steve was an excellent guide. The tour covered the highlights of Busan, was well paced and included a very good Korean BBQ lunch. I would have rated the tour excellent BUT it was advertised (and booked) as a small group tour using a mini van or small coach. There were 20 in our group and the coach was at least 40 seater - neither small numbers to my understanding. Because of the number of people we often missed out on the guide’s commentary (we were still getting off the coach while he was talking) and a number of us actually got separated from the main group and temporarily lost near the fish market. Others in the group were under the impression they had booked a private tour so were astounded to find 20 of us. We wouldn’t have minded 8-10 in our group but would not have booked this tour if we had not been mislead as to the final size. Misleading advertising.
We were picked up by a wonderful guide who called herself Beth. We had a group of 6 which was fantastic! Beth gave us an overview of Korean history and culture while she was driving. Busan is a large city, but appears to be clean and modern. We first went to the Songdu Sky Walk, which is a curvy jetty going out over the water. One can get some nice photos of the city from there. The next stop was the Gamcheon Culture Village, which is fascinating especially after learning the history of the area. We walked around there for a while looking in some of the shops and the food available to buy. We then went to BIFF Square and walked to Gukje Market where we shopped and observed all of the eateries. We then had Korean BBQ for lunch. This was a new experience for me, but one I would gladly repeat. Next we walked to the Jagalchi seafood market which was unbelievable with the variety of fish, squid, crabs and other creatures that live in the sea which are all held alive in salt water. Beth, our tour guide told us about a popular sweet filled pancake which is stuffed with chopped nuts, seeds and brown sugar, called ssiat hotteok. We tried one of these and it was delicious! The next stop was Samgwangsa Temple, a beautiful mountain top Buddhist temple, which is famous for its lantern festival. The area is fairly new (built in the 1980’s) and is recognized as one of Korea’s most beautiful places. Even as a Christian, I found this place to be very peaceful. The tour was supposed to go to the top of Mountain Hwangnyeongsan Observatory, but the weather was misty with a light rain drizzle and we would have not seen much. Busan is a good place to visit and I’m sure there is much more to see if more time was available, but a one day shore excursion is a good place to start and Viator does a great tour!
Had a great time ...rain made it a bit difficult to navigate some of the venues...Culture Village was super slippery..but beautiful none the less...our guide Beth made the day sooo much fun.
I booked this tour as a “private shore excursion” for 4 of us traveling together. My receipt stated that we would be picked up at the port in a minivan. We were put onto a bus with over 30 people. The guide, Beth, was very sweet and enthusiastic, but this is not the private shore excursion that I expected. I book all private excursions when we travel and this is the first time this has happened. The 4 of us were extremely disappointed. It we had wanted a large group experience, we would have booked a ship’s tour. If you are looking for a private tour, look elsewhere.
Despite a day of rain, we saw all the important sites as promised for this tour. Our guide was really great and also had to tolerate an ugly rainy day!!
We arrived in Busan for our only day in Korea in the pouring rain. Hayden was right on time with umbrellas, raincoats, water, WiFi, charging cords, cookies and a very amiable attitude. For the next 7 hours we sloshed thru the rain without missing a beat. In fact we saw more than we imagined we could see because there were no lines or crowds. Hayden was very attentive to our very need. I was recovering from a hip replacement and worried about slippery steps but Hayden was always there the lend a hand. He even took pictures with his own phone and I had them in my email that night. He made a potential bad day into an exciting informative day. Lunch was a traditional Korean lunch and was perfect
. it looks more like south america. the interesting thing is the contrast between this place and any typical SK town or city
We scheduled this for a 9-5 trip. Another cruise ship was also booked and we lost 30 minutes that morning and had to be back 30 minutes early. We would have been concerned but the guide juggled everything and made it a great tour. Beth was her American name.
On our recent cruise stop in Busan we met Beth our tour guide for the day. She lead our small group around Busan for a day of amazing sights and Korean BBQ lunch. Definitely worth exploring this tour if you are in Busan
This was one of our best tours on this trip to Japan and South Korea. Our guide Beth was very knowledgeable and well organized, and spoke excellent English. She was waiting for us when we got off the ship and took us to all these amazing places. We got to see a lot of Busan, and never felt rushed, even though our time in port was rather limited. Our Korean BBQ lunch was delicious. This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We highly recommend this tour.
Beth was our guide for our group. She was an amazing tour guide! Showed us so many places/sites and tailored the tour to what we wanted to see and when we needed to be back to the ship for immigration. About 14 of us on the Windstar booked this trip. We were on a chartered Windstar cruise. She picked us up on time and got us back in time as well. Her personal stories were fun and she made the most of every minute of our tour. I could not believe she got us all the places we wanted to see in time. The lunch experience was incredible. We usually dont like to waste tour time on eating, but this was a local place and a fabulous experience!! I would highly recommend this tour to everyone!!! I was so pleased I had booked it. We saw twice the amount of sights that the Windstar excursions offered for half the price. Book this tour, you will be so glad you did!!!!
Great day trip, expert guide, Steve, was waiting for us when ship arrived and had us back well in time for departure, expert in the area, took us places others coudn't get to and we had a ball.recommend highly
We were a small group. Just my husband and myself and two sisters from Pennsylvania and our guide 'Beth' was excellent. She had a very good command of English & knowledge of her subject & was most charming & accommodating in allowing for my husbands bad back & trouble climbing lots of stairs. Whenever possible she left us & ran up 100,s of stairs to fetch our minibus.Highly recommended!
Our guide Beth was fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The places we visited were impressive. The cherry blossoms were spectacular. Beth also catered for my needs with an allergy to seafood.
We had a fantastic visit to Busan with a very congenial and knowledgeable guide/ driver Steve who while born in Sth Korea had spent many years in US while he was growing up. Steve took us to so many places it was just exciting, exhilarating, informative and delightful! There is so much to see and enjoy, we would really love to go back for more! The tour was very relaxed and not at all rushed. Vehicle was clean, comfortable and modern with Steve doing a brilliant job driving as well as providing lots of local history and information in a very easy fashion as it got woven into our conversation. We enjoyed a nice tasy ty Korean BBQ lunch which was a bit of a challenge initially but good fun as we got the hang of it! Steve even took photos of us with his phone and then kindly emailed them back to us. Great day, Steve was a really awesome guide/driver ..we had an exceptional day which we shall remember for many years. We strongly recoomend this private tour with Steve.
It was an excellent shore excursion, saw many interesting sights and the tour guide was lovely, very knowledgeable and accommodating with my husband who could not walk as fast as the rest of the small group of 6 people. The other tour participants were younger and walking faster as us who are almost 80 but the guide made sure we caught up and did not get lost. She was waiting at the gate holding up a sign with our name when we got off the ship and got us back in plenty of time, there was never a worry that we might miss the ship. As a precaution to other travelers: there is quite a bit of walking and climbing involved in this trip but is well worth it.
We took a private tour with 10 others while on a cruise ship not really knowing what to expect. Our guide Hon, who goes by Steve, had lived in the United Sates for 13 years spoke excellent English and gave us a great tour of places in Busan you normally don't get to with large tour groups. Highlights of the tour included the Songdo Sky Walk, a promenade extending into Songdo beech; the Gamcheon Culture Village, an old colorful village on a hillside with houses pained a variety of lively colors; Fish Market with outdoor stalls selling every type of seafood you can imagine and had a typical Korean lunch with a choice of Bibimbap or Korean Barbecue. We also saw the Samgwang Temple during its annual lantern festival. Lanterns were hung everywhere and wired for electricity. This was a particular highlight since only small tours like ours were able to stop here. If you are going to Busan you need to tour with Steve. Of all the tours we took on our 29 day cruise Steve was the best guide. email: info@busantourismcenter.com
We had a good tour and saw a lot. We particularly liked the coffee shop at the shipyards. Busan is a huge shopping mall.
It was fantastic. I was alone and luckily they didn't cancel me. Chris took me on an amazing tour. He showed me everything and told me the history. The places are really worth it. It was super fun. Thank you Chris! You are great.
