Our private excursion to Tigre Delta with our guide, Catalina, was absolutely wonderful. It was a great break from the busy city of Buenos Aires with a knowledgeable and attentive tour guide. Catalina shared information about places to eat and things to try in Buenos Aires as well as Tigre Delta. She was also very knowledgeable about the history of the city, culture, social issues, political history, and architecture. She spoke good English as well which was helpful during our discussions. What I noticed that was unique about this guide, unlike any we had during our trip, was that she was able to read what was important to us during our tour and helped to focus what we saw and focused on during the tour. She even made an extra stop to make sure we saw an important attraction to us on the way back to our hotel. She was fabulous! TIgre Delta is very picturesque and there is a lot to see as you travel among the islands on the tour boat. There are very cute shops that are very different from Buenos Aires. Find a nice spot on the water and have a glass of wine or beer! My biggest suggestion would be to go earlier in the day because the shops all closed early and we didn’t get to see them all! Very easy to spend several hours and I wish we had more time!

The Fruit Port is a small pier on the banks of the Luján River in the town of Tigre, next to which the fruit market is located. They owe their names to the fact that until the middle of the 20th century, fruit production from the Paraná Delta landed there, which was then marketed in the city of Buenos Aires.
Paseo Victorica is an exceptional place, combining nature, river views, gastronomy, rowing clubs and historical landmarks.
The Cathedral of San Isidro is a religious temple of neogothic style. It adopted forms of said style used in Europe between the 12th and 16th centuries, the only difference being that modern materials and techniques were used. The most characteristic of the Cathedral are its slender lines designed from the religiosity so that they point towards the sky. Its facade was restored with imitation stone and exposed brick with tasks of molding the original ornaments in a workshop. Its main tower is 68 m high. Its base is a Latin cross with three naves with a circular apse. The columns are cylindrical and the stone and brick walls have openings with stained glass made in France and Gothic rosettes. Upon entering the Cathedral, its grandeur can be appreciated through its forms that stand out from its last restoration. Inside you can see the neo-Gothic style columns and arches that take you to the altar.

We enjoyed our tour of the Tigre Delta. My husband and I were the only ones and our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgable. It was very interesting to see the islands and how the people live.
Alfredo was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable on the history of Argentina and made the tour much more interesting for a European tourist. We went on the tour which included going on the boat trip in Port Tigre and around the islands in the Delta. Would highly recommend.
After hearing from several people that we needed to visit the Tigre Delta we booked an afternoon private tour. We drove from the city center through Ave Libertador which was a very nice scenery, we stopped at San Isidro and saw the church and then proceeded to take a catamaran boat tour on the rivers Sarmientos and San Antonio. We were unable to walk around the San Fernando port area nor stop for lunch but it was a beautiful scenery.
Julian was a great guide, we enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot about the city. We felt very safe riding around Buenos Aires.
Rafa was wonderful, very knowledgeable about the area. We had a great time and would definitely recommend
The boat ride on the Tigre Delta (about 100 passengers n the boat) was pleasant and interesting. The "private tour" aspect was transportation to and from our hotel. Four of us were crammed uncomfortably into a small car. The driver spoke very little English, so there was not a lot of commentary about the sites in between the hotel and boat ride. Main activity was to try to sell us on a stop where we were supposed to purchase leather goods. We turned it down. In sum, would have been better to take a big bus tour.
We booked with Depasseios LLC (dp) for a city tour through Get Your Guide, and we had a great experience. Because of this, we went directly to the dp website to book the Tigre Delta tour. What a different experience, and not in a good way. They lost our reservation, and no tour guide showed up to pick us up at the scheduled time of 9am. Fortunately, we still had Luca, our city tour guide, on WhatsApp, and he was able to make contact with the office (none of the numbers we were provided with for dp worked), and they scrambled to find a guide for us who arrived at 10:15 am. The great news is that Diego, our eventual tour guide, was fantastic! We made it to Tigre by noon for the river tour, and we still had a successful day. At the end of the tour, Diego introduced us to El Ateneo Grand Splendid, an opera house converted into a bookstore, which we would have never found without Diego. So my rating is a 5 for Diego, and a 1 for Depasseios LLC, the tour company. That averages out to a 3.
Alfredo is an excellent route guide. He is very knowledgeable and made sure the tour was accessible for my husband who is in a wheelchair. Highly recommended.
Laura was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and attentive. Mati was a great driver. They made a great team.
This tour wasn’t what we expected. The guide picked us up at our hotel and drove us to Tigre. The guide seemed surprised that we expected him to get on the boat with us. He was just going to wait on the pier. Good thing he came, because the boat narrator didn’t say anything in English. Our guide was able to tell us what she said. The Tigre delta was not very picturesque. Mainly old houses along the river, most in bad repair.
Dario was the perfect guide that introduced us to Buenos Aires and the Tigre Delta. He knows the area the history and shared in depth knowledge and insights about Buenos Aires in general and the Tigre especially. A very passionate guide in tune to the world in general The Tigre delta area is an amazing place. Fascinating and well worth the time spent. Saw everything from small river cabins to grand compounds. Museums, rowing clubs from all the major world nations, and commercial enterprises were everywhere. Rich history and fascinating lifestyle. Highly recommended! And Dario especially!
Maurice was our guide and did a great job. He showed us the sites on the way to Tigre. The boat trip was very nice. It makes a loop through the delta. Very pretty area. We had beautiful weather for a boat ride. Lots of shade on the top level to enjoy the views. I highly recommend!
Laura and Sergio (driver/guide) were exceptional! Very knowledgeable and took us through the city also to show us keys places and quick stops to take photos. The river cruise was nice but would have preferred our guides to do the talking rather than the boat company.
Great Tour to see an area outside Buenos Aires. Nice to see a suburban area and the Tigre river boat ride we very enjoyable.
A great escape from hot BA. Alejandro was excellent. He is very knowledgeable about most things and has a very easy going demeanor. Took extra time to help us find a hidden store. Highly recommend his tour
VIATOR/Tripadvisor - December 27, 2025 Booking reference number: 1309433447 TIGRE DELTA a long lasting, pretty boring, 2 hours boat trip WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION AT ALL during the ride PRIVATE NAVIGATION we didn’t recognise the PRIVATE part as we were at least in 50 on the boat, so PRIVATE?? LOCAL GUIDE the LOCAL was a very educated and friendly brazilian student who gave us a ride to Tigre, bought the tickets and wait to drive us back to Buenos Aires. GUIDE? That’s all for what the company asked $ 220 (not even a water was comprised), from my point of view much to much for what has been offered and for sure, other companies offer such a service at a lower cost. WE RECOMMEND TO REVISE YOUR OFFER. Herbert
Darío was the best guide for our half day trip to Tigre! He was knowledgeable, funny and full of personality. He gave us so much information about how the people live in Tigre and the history of the town that kept our entire family’s attention the whole time. He took great pictures of us and made the trip exceptional. Would highly recommend!
Darío was an amazing guide! So full of energy and information. He showed us so many things that we didn’t expect and helped us really understand the history and daily lives of the people in Tigre. The boat was so relaxing and a wonderful way to see the many rivers and houses of Tigre. We can’t recommend more! Thank you, Dario!
Our Tour was great. Guide was knowledgeable and professional. Great overview of Buenos Aires history and a laid back boat tour of the Tigre Islands.
Dario was a wonderful tour guide….. great sense of humor , very personable. We saw many places, did not rush us and provided time to do a little shopping. The Tigre Delta was amazingly beautiful. I would highly recommend this tour and especially Dario as a guide. Thank you for a wonderful day!
We had a great time in Tigre on our private tour. Luca was a fantastic guide - friendly, knowledgeable, warm and flexible. He genuinely wanted to make sure we had the experience we were hoping for. You would be lucky to get him as a guide!
The agency is not reliable and overpriced! Tigre is very nice and so is the delta boat ride, but you don’t need a guide; you can enjoy it on your own. The only thing the guide did was drive me there and back. What a waste of money!
Our guide Alfredo is most knowledgeable and able to tell us everything we wanted to know from economy to history to simple daily stuff. He is also very flexible and understands our needs.
This was a superb trip to do after having already seen the city of Buenos Aires. This was a green and tranquil time, especially on the boat part of the tour. We loved having Ana again for the drive to and from Tigre as she is such a knowledgeable guide.
Interesting tour. Our guide was very informative and helpful. He was very knowledgeable about the City and the neighborhoods we drove through.
We had a great tour with Ana. She provided excellent narration on way to Tigre. Her personality was warm and inviting. She was flexible and accommodating. Would highly recommend this tour. Boat tour was also calm with great views.
We really liked our driver, Daniel. This is really a car service up to a tour boat on the Tigre river with time to walk around the port area of Tigre and shops. It was very interesting to get out of central BA and see the river area. Not an active afternoon, but informative.
The tour description described a private guide on shared navigation. Our “guide” dropped us off and told us where he’d be when we got back. This is not the experience we paid for. Our first Viator disappointment. This was essentially a chatty uber. Our guide was personable and earnest but did not guide us in any meaningful way. We learned nothing about the Tigre Delta. The add promised a tour, we got a ride.
We really had an unexpectedly lovely tour of the north part of Buenos Aires up until Tigre. We even had the chance to visit the Catedral de San Isidro. Our guide, Martin was very friendly and spoke English well. Most importantly, I happened to leave my phone in the car in my haste and somehow, he took the time and effort to bring it to me at my pick up address. Many thanks again, Martin!!
After 2 full on days in the city doing all of the sites this trip was a great way to escape the hussle and bussle and see a different side of Buenos Aires. Our guide was Emiliano, who was fantastic from start to finish. He had a huge amount of knowledge of the Tigre area and went out of his way to look after us. He’s a very personable guy and took the time to get to know me and my family, which made us all feel relaxed. I would definitely recommend this trip for anyone looking for something different.
Our tour guide was Ezequiel who was fluent in English and very knowledgeable. he went out of his way to take us to some of the sights in BA before the river cruise which was a nice surprise. Our family had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend this trip.
This was a fun and relaxing riverboat ride around several islands in the Tigre Delta. Interesting how people live in the delta island community. The boat ride itself was approximately 75–90 minutes with a recorded narration in several languages. Pickup and drop off at our BA hotel by a great driver Martin who also gave us a brief tour and info on the city. Recommend for everyone, suitable for all ages.
Just as advertised. Lucca met us at the cruise terminal and we rode in his car to the boat on the Tigre. There was time for shopping there at the Fruit Market. Very interesting boat tour through the delta. Then we rode back with Lucca through the town of Tigre and back to the ship. We needed to be back on board a little early, and he accommodated us very well. A great value for the money.
Awesome. The delta is beautiful. Tour guide was very informative. He recommended some restaurants in Paleemo.
Daria, our private guide was awesome. Picked us up at our hotel for the drive to Tigre. Boat for the river tour was clean and spacious. 1.5 hours on the Parana and Sarmiento rivers as part of the Rio de la plata delta. Lots to see very enjoyable. Had one hour after the cruise to explore the Mercado Frutos. Back to the city where we stopped at the two main soccer stadiums for a look and had lunch and a wine tasting included. Awesome 5.5 hours.
This is the most unemarkable tour I've been on in a while. The boat that I was scheduled to go on was grounded, so the guide took me to a different dock with much smaller boats that were still running. The boat didn't have e open air areas. We were all in an enclosed spa e with a few open windows. The water was brown and unattractive. There were a few cool views, but not enough to make this worth it.
Very helpful and knowledgeable. Went out of his way to help us. Extremely friendly and we felt secure. Did things at our pace. We never felt rushed.
The driver and guide to the Delta was great and very informative. We had not expected such a thorough overview of sights along with our cruise
Ezekiel as our guide was extremely knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. We saw some sights not included in standard tours. He connected with all of us (2 couples), each on a personal level. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour which was largely due to Ezekiel. We highly recommend!
The navigation was not private. There were about twenty other people on the boat. Never received any refreshments or snacks.
Juan was very puntuall and friendly, he shared valuable insights and informations on various topics. The car was comfortable.
In most of my reviews, I talk about the benefits of private tours versus coach tours. This one was another good example. Private tours offer a level of flexibility and personal human connection that you cannot achieve in the large coach tours offered by most cruse lines. On a private tour, you will never be stuck on a bus waiting for those last two people to finally show up. If you are concerned with getting back to your ship on time, don't be. A good private tour operator stakes his reputation on making sure you get back in time. Since this was our second day in Buenos Aires and we had already done a city tour, we decided to go with Max from Depasseios on a tour of the Tigre Delta. He is a very personable and knowledgeable young man with very good English skills. He was assisted by a driver whose name, I am sorry, I do not remember. Max is an excellent guide, and he told us much about the area and its history. On the route to Tigre, he told us all about various buildings and places that we passed, including at a stop along the way at the Cathedral in San Isidro. Our principal stop was at the Puerto de Frutos, which is was formerly a port for importing fruit (as the name implies). It is now a shopping area specializing in various handicrafts. It is somewhat touristic but catering mostly to local visitors. The featured highlight of the trip was a scenic boast ride through the delta. Max rode along with us, and translated the narration which was only in Spanish; as I said, their focus is more on local visitors. Along the river next to Puerto de Frutos were museums, shops, kayak rentals and even an amusement park. The islands through the delta are home to campsites and parks and vacation homes. It sort of remined me of Lake Travis near Austin, or perhaps Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts. After the boat ride, my wife wanted ice cream. Argentinian ice cream is very rich and delicious, almost like Italian gelato. Max and our driver found an excellent shop along the river, where all four of us enjoyed some wonderful ice cream. This is a perfect example of the flexibility of a private tour, as I mentioned earlier. On a coach tour, we could never have done this. Thank you, Max! And please pass my thanks to your colleague who drove (and if you can send us his name, I will update this review.)
Very knowledgeable and friendly. Was flexible to meet our needs and shared a lot of interesting information.
I received a private WhatsApp message from the tour operator after inquiring about the city tour. They sold me a 5-hour tour with walking, sightseeing, and a boat ride, showing a picture of a big boat. However, they asked for direct payment instead of using Trip Advisor/Viator, which raised concerns. The tour cost $180 for two people. The driver was late, and the tour didn't last 4 hours (2 hours were spent driving). The driver put us on a public boat tour costing 8,000 pesos per ticket (under $8 USD). The boat tour lasted only 1 hour. Afterwards, the driver took us back. The tour didn't include a leisurely walk, church visit, or cobblestone walk as advertised. The driver's English was limited. A picture comparison shows what was promised versus what was delivered. I feel deceived and disappointed. Our time was wasted. If I use Uber for a ride to the boat, it will Cost us about $30 one way.
Ezequiel was an amazing tour guide. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel, on time. He understood our interests and was able to make adjustments along the way...we got way more out of this tour than we expected. We saw the oldest church in it's original form, a massive book store in a gorgeous building, and many more sights. He is extremely knowledgeable, not only about Buenos Aires, but his country in general. The Tigre Delta river tour was fantastic...yes it was super busy, it was a Saturday afternoon and many locals were on our boat, a really good sign that it's well worth it. Ezequiel joined us aboard and translated for us, which we really appreciated. We were on a vintage river boat that was very well kept and saw some really interesting sites as we navigated through the main river and side tributaries. Afterward, he introduced us to a local vendor who sells delicious hand made Empanadas...they were so good! If you're ever in the area, I would highly recommend this tour and Ezequiel!
Our guide Nahuel was great. It was Christmas Eve when no other people were working and he picked us up at our hotel on time at 8am as requested. He’s charming and nice to talk to. The reason the tour wasn’t a 5 star is because on Christmas Eve most shops at Puerto de Frutos and the Tigre Art Museum were closed, leaving not much to do during the time in town. And despite a bit of car trouble, our guide made alternate arrangement to go along with us shopping while roadside assistance was servicing the car. Also because of Christmas Eve, the earliest cruise on the River Delta didn’t start until 12pm. Despite all these challenges, he reversed the itinerary so we still had a very enjoyable time. The cruise itself was nice and relaxing. The rural scenery of the water front houses on the delta is beautiful. During the tour we had very entertaining conversations with Nahuel and we became friends at the end of the tour.
Lucas was 10/10 for information and recommendations. The river cruise was very crowded which made it not as enjoyable as it could have been
Gerard, our guide was fantastic as usual ( 3rd event that we have booked with him ). He is, in our opinion the best in Buenos Aires! The trip to Tigre was good, except for one thing: The boat ride was uncomfortable because the boat was small and very crowded. It was impossible to even take a picture as we were sitting in the middle and all seats were occupied. We almost felt claustrophobic. Also, the recorder audio in English was not good. My suggestion is choosing larger boats with an open deck that will allow people to move around, take pictures and enjoy the ride.
