This was an excellent riding tour, brilliantly led by Pablo with Hugo tagging along. It was well structured with relevant and insightful commentary and information from Pablo. We appreciated the depth of the information provided and Pablo's willingness to answer questions and share his knowledge of BA. If we had more time we would have done 1 or 2 of the other tours also. It was a great way to see the south parts of BA, especially Boca. We always felt safe and were mainly in bike lanes. Highly recommend.

Itinerary
We meet at Casa Castagnino — one of the oldest buildings in San Telmo, built in the late 1700s — and finish right back where we started.
Discover the origens of the city which was once the second largest slave trading market in South America and learn why the surrounding neighbourhood fell into disrepair. It all started (and ended) here.
The birth-place of Tango and disembarkation point for more than 6 million immigrants. The colours how they came to be and why the volunteer fireservice are so revered. More than this you will experience with our local friends for an insiders view of the tourist hoards below...
Designed to be the economic epi-centre of the city and built with the same brick used for the Albert Docks in England (and bollards from Sheffield foundry in Wales), this port could be considered one of the largest art installation in the world as it was only briefly used as a port before being abandoned and cordoned-off for 80 years...
Bob Ross the famous TV painter might describe the reserve as a 'happy accident', we have Juan Domingo Perón and mother nature to thank for this peaceful respite from the city of fury. (closed Mondays).
The Heart of the City, here at the site of the second founding of the city of Buenos Aires is where you will now understand better the people, city and culture of the city

Raymond provided a fun, fascinating and extremely informative tour with the perfect balance of cycling, wandering around the art area and drinking matte! His knowledge was encyclopaedic - and delivered with great humour and in a fun manner. It was like cycling with an old pal, very relaxed and a great way to spend 4 hours. Oh and I had one of the bamboo bikes!!
We had a brilliant tour with Raymond. He has a terrific energy, but the tour was taken at an easy pace. The tour was insightful, with a really unique perspective given to the street art that we saw. Overall very interesting, a good laugh and a great introduction to the south side of Buenos Aires.
Pablo was an amazing guide for us, and my wife and I felt like he was our lifelong friend at the end of the tour. We learned so much about the history, culture, and modern life in Buenos Aires. Could not recommend more highly!
Pablo and Patricio were amazing guides! The tour was thoughtful and well organized, they had a buddy system that made sure all 7 of us were safe crossing roads and navigating throughout the city. They were knowledgeable, friendly, calm, charismatic, and generous with their time and a lovely mate and alfajores treat. We were two families, four adults and three children between the ages of 12 and 15 and did a private south tour. We hit all the spots on the itinerary and were lucky with the weather on a cooler day in March. If the sun were shining it probably would’ve been much hotter. Recommend bringing shades for better visibility. They provide the bikes, helmets and water. We wouldn’t have been able to see everything we saw had we not done the tour. It took about 4 hours and the biking was relatively easy, only one small hill at the end. Highly recommend! And ask for Pablo and Patricio. And… perfect English. Thanks guys!
Fabulous tour with Pablo and Patricio! The whole family had a wonderful time — ages 12-44. Amazing experience. Highly recommend!
Excellent tour and great way to cover a lot of territory. BA is very safe and easy to bike around. Jackson was a great guide - he knows his history and tailored it to our likes.
Great way to see some of the city with mix of interesting historical facts. Jackson our guide was perfect.
Raymond was very knowledgeable and interesting guide for our tour. He’s a Kiwi who’s mad BA his home some 15 years ago. His love for his chosen home comes through as hi passionately shares gems of this vibrant and fantastic place. The cycling was great and is a perfect way to see this city in sections of interest. Don’t hesitate to choose this tour and make sure you get Raymond, a kind, knowledgeable funny guide who can make one mean Mate!
We had a very nice bike ride with Ricardo. He gave us many information about the Places we went and about local and Argentinian history and culture. We also got to know a Mate ceremony. The bikes were in a good shape as well. We recommend Biking Buenos Aires and Ricardo as a tour guide as well!
This bike tour took us through La Boca And the Caminito art area as well as Puerto Madera and Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve. We were able to get a detailed history of Argentina from our Tour Guide. This was a fantastic biking tour and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes to hear about history as well as enjoying much of nature and the beauty of Buenos Aires. Patricio made this such a delightful experience and he is a 10 out of 10 Tour Guide.
Really awesome staff-friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. They were so kind when my son was feeling unwell during the tour. Interesting history and beautiful Buenos Aires scenery! We all learned a lot and would highly recommend this company.
Great way to see the city! Raymond was full of local stories and in- depth history! Highly recommend! Boca was so fun to go to!
If you're looking for something interesting to do and looking to learn more about the history of Argentina, this is an excellent way to do so. This tour was one of the highlights of our entire stay in Buenos Aires. Our tour guide Pablo did an excellent job explaining the history of the city and of the nation. We visited the south side of the city and got an excellent introduction into yerba mate. Paula did an excellent job asking questions, answering questions, keeping the tour interesting and was incredibly passionate the entire time. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city.
Had a great biking tour of the city. Would definitely recommend. Easy pace and so much info provided by the guide. Nice food stop for lunch also.
We had our tour today and loved it. Pablo was absolutely amazing! The tour was great but Pablo really made it special. The ride itself is a leisure ride. You make lots of stops and plenty of photo ops. A few of our favorite stops consisted of lunch at a local food truck for a delicious sandwich and our favorite stop was when we learned about mate and had the opportunity to try some. Before the tour I had concerns about riding bikes in the city with traffic but Pablo helps create a safe and comfortable environment and we had no issues at all. This tour is a wonderful way to see a beautiful warm lively city and it’s beautiful kind people. We have nothing negative to say about the tour. Highly recommend!! When you’re with Pablo you feel like you’re touring around with family.
I would highly recommend the "Heart of the City" tour with Pablo! I'd already been in Buenos Aires for two months before the ride, but I ended up learning SO MUCH new information about the city's history during this experience. The San Telmo/Boca neighborhoods are full of stories and art, and it was really cool to go a little off the beaten path. I went solo and had a lovely time getting to know Pablo and the other people on my tour! Amazing use of a holiday/weekend – biking is truly an amazing way to see the city, even if you already consider yourself an expert.
Very good tour to get to know the city in a couple hours. And fun to discover the city by bike. We had a lot of fun thanks to our great guide Jackson! Thank you for all the interesting facts and stories.
Amazing day out with these guys, lots of history and sights you wouldn’t otherwise see. Loved it! Highly recommended Thanks for all the fun
Wonderful trip, exciting and informative. We saw so much and learned so very much about Buenos Aires and her people and history. Trip well organized and fun!
Debi, the guide was brilliant. She has extensive local knowledge and interesting background stories. Her enthusiasm and cheerful nature made the tour a delight. The cycling was safe and perfectly paced.
Had the City Tour with Jackson, and had a great time. On the nice bamboo bikes we started with a short ride to La Boca and it was matchday for Boca Juniors, so atmosphere was great around the stadium. Continued to the Reserva Ecologica. Had lunch at a foodtruck, and rode through Puerto Madero (with the fantastic Calatrava bridge 😅). Last part was through the center and Plaza de Mayo). It is great to see BA from a bike, but best part was all the stories Jackson told. He explained a lot about the city, its history, politics, strange customs and more with alot of humor and amusement. We had a great time; thanks Biking BA and thanks Jackson.
SUMMARY: This was a wonderful experience, Pablo was a fantastic tour guide, and it was my favorite organized experience in BA. DETAILS: I had originally wanted to do the Tigre/kayak tour, but heavy rain quashed that plan, so I booked the Heart of the City Tour instead. I ended up being the only one on the tour and it was great. Pablo spoke excellent English, was super friendly, knowledgeable about the city, entertained my random questions (including general ones about Argentina/Buenos Aires), and just in general all around provided a great day. I really thought the biking tour was a lovely way to see the city. If I'm ever back in BA and the weather lines up, I'd absolutely do another of these tours. USEFUL INFO: Helmets and water are provided, there is a choice of bicycle, and BA is quite a flat city (on our tour there was really one hill) so even just basic fitness should suffice!
Blue skies, Bamboo Bikes & the excellent company of our super cool, fountain of knowledge & incredibly hospitable bike guide for the day - Pablo, helped make this one of the highlights of our trip to Buenos Aires. My wife & I chose the “Heart of the City bike tour” which unbeknownst to us was on Indepedence Day - Día de la independencia!! We got an incredible feel for the different aspects to a large historical city with back stories, sights & smells as well as an excellent demonstration of how to properly prepare and drink the Argentinian tea equivalent - “Maté”. Taking in many parks, nature reserve & lake down to the seaway, La Boca Junior soccer club “La Bombonera”, the colourful buildings & local artists & markets of “Caminito” and the story behind “Woman’s Bridge” and the “Plaza de Mayo” which was in full swing on Independence Day and the history of Eva Peron & President Juan Peron. Pablo is an incredible guide who took great care of us making sure we were well fed & hydrated throughout the tour, taking time to explain to us the incredible history, architecture & current social situation in Buenos Aires & Argentina. This tour was better than expected and comes highly recommended - ENJOY! Thank you Pablo
we absolutely loved this bike tour and DEVI our guide…what a perfect way to see the beautiful city of Buenos Aires! the buulding that houses the Bike Tour Company was so beautand full of history itself and the intimate time we shared in the garden learning how to prepare/drink Mate was a sweet moment we will never forget! highly recommend
This bike tour was one of the highlights of our trip. We did a private tour because we got in from New Zealand late the night before and wanted flexibility. Ray our bike guide was superb. It helped that he is a fellow Kiwi as our Spanish is lacking. But his passion for Buenos Aires and cool anecdotes made it so much fun. Even though I’m not much of a cyclist I found it a breeze. Very flat and easy to navigate with Ray’s expert guidance. We only had 2 days in the gorgeous Buenos Aires and this was a perfect way to take in heaps of the city and soak in its beauty, culture and history. Loved it! And the April weather was perfect for it.
Raymond was very fun and made sure to take cool photos and videos detailing our experience. He also served us mate from scratch and it was delicious. Go if you want to get a cool glimpse into Argentinian life while getting a workout in at same time.
What a fun way to see Buenos Aires! We loved cycling around with Patricio and learning about the history and traditions of the city… from soccer to tango to drinking mate. Great experience!
Pablo was an excellent guide, knowledgeable and personable, and with wonderful English. He gave us a great overview of central Buenos Aires, the history and culture, and is understandably proud of this beautiful city. He was very pleasant to talk to, discussing history, culture and politics. As a special treat he produced mate that we enjoyed on the banks of the River Plate. The riding was flat and easy. We would highly recommend this excursion.
Patricio and Ricky were great guides and it was a fantastic tour. They gave a lot of history and lunch was good too.
We had a great 1/2 day biking around BA with Pato and Deby. They were fun and engaging and provided us with lots of historical background on the sites we saw. We even got a tango lesson and shared a cup of mate and dulce de leche. We would highly recommend this tour.
Pam and enjoy more than any other type of tour…one on a bike and this tour is no exception! Pablo is a native and has all the knowledge, skill, charisma necessary and more, he just a ton of fun! We accomplished so much in 5 hours which is longer than our usual bike tours offerings - and it was worth it. History, ecological, art, government buildings and some Mate on a break that was a first for Pam. The ride is easy, allows you to experience so much and our weather was perfect. Make sure to add this to your “must do’s in BA and make sure to get Pablo! Fantastic Day…
Absolutely amazing. Big highlight to Ray, who was a great guide and also great company to the whole tour. 100% recommended.
It was an exceptional tour. In addition to the energy of physical activity, we were affected and inspired by the energy of the instructor. A passionate artist and very knowledgeable about the culture and who made it possible for us to be Argentines for a day. It was amazing!!!
Jackman provided comprehensive information about the sites visited as well as some cultural background of Argentinia, so it was much more than a bike tour. In addition, the lunch was great and I enjoyed the mate! And Hugo kept us safe!
Our family learned some time ago that bike tours are a great way to start a trip and learn what areas of a city most capture our interest. So when we recently stopped in Buenos Aires on our way to Antarctica, we opted to do Biking Buenos Aires’ Heart of the City tour. Ricardo was our tour guide, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. Ricardo was so personable and knowledgeable. We most enjoyed learning about mate, the history behind Tango, and trying bondiola for the first time. Ricardo’s love for BA is infectious, and we caught it. We will be back to bike some more and do a deeper dive into the world of Tango.
Our guide Sol was very knowledgeable and a joy to be with. His understanding and passion for the history and politics of Buenos Aires and all of Argentina was evident throughout the tour. Very well done.
Such a great day with our guide Patricio! Excellent way to see parts of the city up close while learning more about the history and current times of various part of the city. We’d highly recommend this tour and I’m sure the others would be just as fantastic. Ask for Pato!
Excellent way to tour the city! Our guide, Patricio, was very knowledgeable, friendly and fun! We chose the private tour for our group of 5 people and would highly recommend.
Such a lovely and informative tour with Ricardo! We happened to book on the day of the celebration for Argentina winning the World Cup. We went from tranquil bike ride in the morning to being able to experience the crazy joy of 4 million people. This was a very special tour and Ricardo made it even more so. Plus we are now mate aficionados due to him!!
Ricardo led a fabulous cycling adventure of the inner and south of the city: from football to dulce de leche; politics to architecture and many things in between. Best way to spend a day in BA
This is a really nice way to explore the city. Pablo and Sol are excellent guides and amazing guys to spend time with. On a serious note we have learned a lot about the history of BA but we also laughed a lot, which of course is also very important! Muchas gracias!
The tour was great and really insightful! The tour-guide Ray was amazing. Strong recommendation. What we loved as well: the company is self-organized - how awesome is that?!!
After a 10 hour flight from the US this was the perfert way to spend our first day in Buenos Aires. Ray was so enthusiastic, we didn’t have any problem staying alert. It was a beautiful day and such a great experience. He showed us the tradition of sharing Maté, let us experience a bondiola sandwich and enjoy Alfajores. This was all in addition to showing us the sites of Buenos Aires along with some of it’s history.
What a fantastic tour. Pablo was one of the best guides I have ever come across. In depth local knowledge of the history culture and living experience of Argentina, we had great chats about history, politics, architecture and more. Perfect English. Saw parts of the city I never would have otherwise, without missing out in the big sights either. Don’t miss this tour.
Really fun and informative! Raymond and his team made a terrific day for us. Cant think of a better way to explore the city than in the seat of a bamboo frame bike.
We did our bike tour with Raymond. It was a great experience! Ray was very knowledgable and entertaining. The bikes were confortable and very cool (they are made of bamboo). I highly recommend this bike tour since it's a great and enjoyable way to explore the city and learn about it's history and traditions. Thanks so much Ray for the tour!
We had a great day thanks to our guide Pablo. It's a good way to see whats beyond the commercial centre of Buenos Aires. We especially liked La Boca and mate.
We traveled to Buenos Aires with our family and did the bike tour with Pablo. Pablo was an amazing guide and gave such a thorough and interesting presentation of the city and all her history. He was so patient and gave us plenty of time to do some exploring on our own. We are staying in Palermo so it was nice to see the San Telmo and Puerto Madero areas. Bikes were very comfortable and quite the conversation starter: they are made of bamboo! We felt very safe and have a wonderful time getting a little exercise while enjoying the sights. It was the perfect amount of time. Definitely a must for your first time visit!!
My husband and I took the Heart of the City tour today with Pablo and had THE BEST DAY!! We cannot recommend this enough. First of all, we were terribly late because of traffic snagged by a local protest and Pablo was incredibly understanding. There aren’t a ton of tourists here post-covid yet so we had Pablo to ourselves all day. We absolutely loved getting introduced to the city by bike and Pablo was so knowledgeable and answered any question we had. Lunch (included) was excellent and Pablo taught us the rituals of yerba mate and even had some alfajores (cookies) to go with! The tour was also very safe - lots of bike lanes and safe streets/sidewalks where there were none. We’d give this 10 stars if we could. Take this tour (with Pablo!).
