Mariana was great - friendly, respectful, informative and had a good sense of humour. She managed the big group well.
This was a great tour, and really worth while. Wandering around this cemetery on your own would have been overwhelming, but having an expert guide made it very interesting. We learnt lots about the history of Buenos Aires as well as some of the special people.
Victoria was awesome! Stuck to only confirmed facts and avoided urban legends. Very knowledgeable!
Best tour! Juan is the best, highly recommend.
Great experience. Learned a lot in a short time period. Interesting stories. Very unique tour and historical
Very knowleadgeble guide. Really enjoyed the tour! Look for Vito Pellegrini to best enjoy the Recoleta tour.
Really useful, entertaining, and fun tour. Victoria is an excellent guide through the Recoletta Cemetery. I'm so glad we didn't try to see the Cemetery without a guide. We learned so much. Don't miss it.
Great tour with Victoria! She is very knowledgeable and engaging. Lots of fun facts and stories. Two hours went by so quickly! I would definitely recommend!
Mariana was great! Very knowledgeable and easy to hear even with a larger group. The stories were interesting and shed light on things like why so many of the mausoleums were in disrepair.
Really great and interesting tour, highly recommend! Our guide, Mariana, was very knowledgeable and a great storyteller. She covered the history of the cementery, highlighted some of the key monuments and addressed all of our questions. We learned a lot, and we really enjoyed this tour!
Our guide Victoria was very informative and answered every one's questions perfectly. You get a good history lesson as you go along.
This was the first time going on a tour with Buenos Aires Free Walks and it was fantastic! Mariano was our english speaking guide and he was informative, personable and an excellent storyteller. We spent about 2 hours walking around the entire cemetery and had plenty of time for questions and photos. We really enjoyed learning about this place in BA history.
This was such a great way to get to know the city. It was our first stop when we got to Buenos Aires. The cemetery is beautiful and definitely worth checking out regardless, but Victoria did a fantastic job of making it come alive (so to speak). Even though it's Buenos Aires Free Walks, it's not actually free, but it's still and incredible value for your money. Wholeheartedly recommend.
We arranged to meet up with our guide at 3.30 pm but on the day in question, we found on arrival, that the cemetery had been closed because no water supply was available (?) Although we had arrived at the agreed meeting point (the white columns at the main entrance), we could not find our guide. We had given no name or description by the tour organisers. I have since tried to obtain a refund, but they have refused, totally refuting my claim that the cemetery was closed and insisting that our guide had been present. Do not book with this company!
Veronica was our tour guide for the Recoleta Cemetery. She was very knowledgeable and engaging. We learned a lot about the history of the cemetery and Buenos Aires. Highly recommended!!!!
Vittio was the best tour guide!! So fun thank you so much!
Our tour guide was knowledgeable and kind. The tour was 2 hours packed with information. Highly recommend.
The most interesting aspect of this tour is the perspective Vitoria gave us on how the city's elite related to the notion of death and the need to maintain the family's name over the years, compared with the lives and deaths of the La Boca immigrants. The picturesque stories about some individuals were quite interesting and even fun to hear.
Truly woeful experience. I paid for a guided tour of la recoleta cemetery bit when we arrived, the cemetery was closed for safety reasons and our guide was nowhere to be found. I have been trying to contact Viator for a refund without success.
The tour was a great way to learn about Recoleta Cemetery. I appreciated hearing the stories of different individuals to give context to what we were seeing.
Victoria is such a knowledgeable guide! She made the cemetery tour such an unforgettable and interesting experience.
Our guide Victoria was very knowledgeable, vivacious and engaging with had good comic timing.lots of background info. Victoria really made this tour for us. Would highly recommend .
Fabulous tour. Marianna was very informative and engaging. She took us to all the cemetery hot spots and gave us some great insights along the way. Highly recommended
Victoria was a great guide, very informative and friendly. Tour was interesting with lots of personal stories, would highly recommend.
Great tour. THe guide, named Victoria, was excellent.
Very in depth tour with lots of interesting facts and stories about the people buried there. It took about 2 hours, and our tour guide Mariana was wonderful. I would recommend this to anyone who has an interest in cemeteries or history.
This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Buenos Aires. The guide was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor.
Amazing guide Vito he was very prpfesional and fin
Vito was a great tour guide! We learned so much and had a really enjoyable time. We had 3 kids with us and they enjoyed it too. Thanks, Vito!
Walking through this amazing cemetery on your own is one thing. Touring it with a guide who can explain the significance of what you're seeing and share stories is a completely different experience. I highly recommend this tour. Our guide was excellent.
ecoleta cemetary is one of the must do sights of Buenos Aires, and you could do it by just buying a ticket and looking at the spectacular mausoleums, but you'd miss so much. The tombs tell the story of Buenos Aires, and Victoria took us on a tour, not just of the cemetery, but of the history and development of the city. The tour leads you through the urban legends surrounding some of the graves, how some people ended up being there, how forever isn't necessarily forever (if your family can't afford the upkeep) and of course the story of the convoluted path Eva Peron took to her (hopefully) final resting place. Great tour. and guide.
Had the tour with Victoria and she was amazing. A mix of Argentina history, local characters, urban legends and ghost stories a nice picture of an overwhelming place to tour on your own. The meet up was easy the tour was well paced and Victoria was clearly knowledgeable about the cemetery. Would recommend 100%
The guide (Mariana) was amazing! Very profesionnal, the storytelling was great. We recommend !
We took three teenage boys on the Recoleta cemetery tour and had a great time. Victoria was extremely knowledgeable and Informative, and presented the tour in an engaging manner. We enjoyed the tour so much that we signed up for another tour she was leading the next day!
Mariana was our very knowledgable guide for the Recoleta Cemetery tour. She likes to tell a few ghost stories, but she is also very knowledgable about the construction of the mausoleums and their history regarding property and family rights. It was very interesting and well paced. She was also very open to questions.
Well organized and interesting. Mariano is a very knowledgeable and excellent tour guide. Perfect English and Spanish.
Marianna was great. Provided a wealth of knowledge, was engaged, answered questions. It was very easy to hear and understand It was a great experience.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an excellent experience on the Recoleta Cemetery Walking Tour. Our guide, Victoria, was outstanding. She struck the perfect balance between history and storytelling, clearly explaining what is supported by historical evidence versus the many urban legends surrounding the cemetery. I learned a tremendous amount about Argentina’s history, culture, and the fascinating people buried there. Victoria was knowledgeable, engaging, and personable. She also did a great job keeping a large group of strangers together, on schedule, and moving without making anyone feel rushed. If you’re visiting Buenos Aires, I highly recommend this tour—and if you’re lucky enough to get Victoria as your guide, you’re in for a fantastic experience.
This was a great tour. Our guide, Victoria, did a fantastic job in keeping us engaged. She told fascinating stories throughout the tour. Her English was great and I would highly recommend this tour.
Great experience, wonderful guide, fascinating stories.
Victoria was fabulous! Very knowledgeable and her English is fantastic. Highly recommended tour.
Good tour to help you navigate and understand the cemetery’s history and some of its famous residents. I don’t think the price of admission would be worth just wondering around so having Mariano guide us through with stories really helped get a unique look at Argentina’s history.
The tour guide Maryann is a professional story teller. I love the stories behind the site and the architecture there are amazing. I enjoy the tour very much.
The tour ran for about 90 minutes and was informative and interesting - importantly, I got so much more out of the experience with the tour than wandering around on my own. Bravo Marianna
We had a really great tour done by Victoria. She was charismatic and engaging throughout telling us the history of the cemetery and some of the graves. Victoria explained everything very well & showed incredible knowledge about the cemetery!
A great tour! Would recommend. Our guide was brilliant, very informative and enthusiastic, and made sure to stop and tell stories from shaded areas which made a big difference during a very hot day!
Very informative and so interesting. Our guide was so knowledgeable and there were so many great facts and stories shared.
We had a wonderful guide for our tour of Recoleta Cemetery. He made the experience informative, engaging and fun (if you can say that about a Cemetery). We really wanted to see it but didn't know where to start with the process. There was little information online about how to get tickets and a guide, but Trip Advisor made it simple. If I have to say anything, it would be that it is called "Free Walks" but there is a fee that needs to be paid. Luckily they advised us in an email beforehand, but it was VERY reasonable and well worth the tour.
Victoria was a wonderful guide! The tour was highly informative, richly anecdotal, and deeply engaging. I highly recommend!
