Caminito is the most famous pedestrian street in Buenos Aires. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city due to its colorful houses and its deep historical and cultural significance. Caminito is located in the popular La Boca neighborhood, on the coast of the Riachuelo River and just 400 meters from La Bombonera, the Boca Juniors stadium. It is a 150-meter-long curved pedestrian promenade where you can see important artistic works.
The Monument to Mafalda is a sculpture dedicated to the most famous character of the cartoonist Quino: 'Mafalda' in which she can be seen materialized on a bench resting. The Monument to Mafalda is located a few meters from where the cartoonist lived, in the San Telmo neighborhood where a plaque that says 'Mafalda lived here' commemorates him.
Recognized by various international media as one of the most emblematic football stadiums in the world, and declared of "sports, tourist and cultural interest of the city of Buenos Aires", it was inaugurated on May 25, 1940. Diego Armando Maradona defined this stadium like "The Temple of the Mouth". Likewise, various sports glories such as Pelé, Zico, Andrés Iniesta and Thierry Henry, among others, have declared that the Boca Juniors stadium has a good experience. The stadium has a capacity of 40,000 seated spectators and 57,000 seated and standing spectators.
Inspired by the Gran Vía in Madrid, Avenida de Mayo is one of the largest and most important arteries in Buenos Aires. Tour the city from Plaza de Mayo with the Casa Rosada at one end, to the National Congress building at the other. Officially inaugurated in 1894, it is worth a visit, since it is like taking a trip through the entire history of the city.
It is a large indoor market that is located in the San Telmo neighborhood. Although it preserves old shops selling vegetables and meats, today it is a tourist place and antique dealers abound. The old "neighborhood" stalls that have been preserved for several decades coexist with the more recent antique dealers and related such as the tourist boom of San Telmo. The building also includes some stores that have their own entrance from the street, among them greengrocers, liquor stores, a restaurant and two notable bars: “San Pedro Telmo”, and “La Coruña” .1
The Puente de la Mujer, one of the emblems of the Puerto Madero neighborhood, is the first work in Latin America by the renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and represents another sign that the City permanently seeks to position itself at the forefront of art and architecture in the whole region. It is a revolving pedestrian bridge with one of the largest turning mechanisms in the world, designed to allow the passage of sailing boats that navigate the docks of Puerto Madero. The work, made in Spain and donated to the City by an individual, represents the image of a couple dancing tango, where the white pole symbolizes the man and the curved silhouette of the bridge the woman.
Inside the Parque 3 de Febrero, in Palermo, is the Rosedal, with a collection of more than 18,000 roses and a lake that surrounds it. It occupies a space that belonged to the villa owned by Juan Manuel de Rosas, until it was defeated on February 3, 1852 at the Battle of Caseros. The work began with the landscaper Carlos Thays, the same one who built the Botanical Garden, Avellaneda Park and Lezama Park, among others. Later, it was completed by his disciple Benito Carrasco in 1914. Every July when the pruning season begins, residents and tourists approach gardeners to receive flowers or cuttings from which new species can reproduce. In this way, in winter the rose bushes bloom healthy and strong to reach their maximum development point in October.
It is located in the exclusive neighborhood of Recoleta, which owes its name to the fact that there was the convent of the Recollect monks, to which the neighboring Basilica Nuestra Señora del Pilar also belonged (in the old monks' garden the cemetery was built ). It is the most visited in the city, due to its numerous and imposing mausoleums and vaults, belonging to many of the main protagonists of Argentine history, such as that of Eva Perón (Evita), one of the most popular tombs. It is also worth a visit for its architectural value, since it is a sample of the times when the country was an emerging economic power and the main families of the city competed to build splendid pantheons. Many of the vaults and mausoleums are the work of important architects and are adorned with marbles and sculptures; more than 90 vaults have been declared a National Historic Landmark.
The Athenaeum Grand Splendid was chosen by the British newspaper The Guardian as the second most important bookstore in the world. Chosen over the old Grand Splendid cinema theater in the Recoleta neighborhood, it retains its former splendor and elegance, with the dome decorated with frescoes, the original railings and the intact decoration. In the old stage - with the velvet curtain ajar - there is a bar that invites you to sit down, book in hand. You can also take advantage of the armchairs that are on both sides of the main room or be located in the exclusive boxes that function as small reading rooms. In the basement there is an area dedicated to children's books, and the upper floor is dedicated to exhibitions and exhibitions.
Sailing through the Tigre delta
We will take a walk through the Puerto de Frutos where you will find many handicrafts from Argentina

Martin was our tour guide and he was exceptional…a true 10+/10 !!! So very personable and knowledgeable. He made the tour so interesting and by the end of the day, we were fast friends! We could have not asked for a more enjoyable day!!!
We had an outstanding tour and can highly recommend our guide. His knowledge was exceptional—not only about the sights themselves, but also the history, politics, economy, and culture of the region. He answered every question with great expertise and made the entire experience both engaging and insightful. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would not hesitate to book another one with him anytime. Thank you for a fantastic experience!
Dario was one of the best tour guides we have ever used, and we have used hundreds in the past 25 years. He was prompt, knowledgeable, friendly, creative with videos and pictures. We had two young girls ages 10 and 11 and he kept them entertained and involved. Our highest possible rating.
We had a great fun exploring Buenos Aires with Martin. He is not only a knowledgeable guide but a very nice person. He answered tons of our questions and had an interesting conversation about football and local history with us. We visited main tourist attractions of the city and then had lunch in the restaurant where he told us about the food there and suggested the items from the menu. The food was very delicious. He also gave us suggestions about other tours and explained what and how. We really appreciate Martin for his excellent work. It is visible how much he likes his job and his city.
Had a wonderful tour of Buenes Aires with Dario from dp tours. Highly recommend this tour if you would like to see all the important sites in the city while learning about their history. Dario is highly knowledgeable and also gave us a taste of the local food, which was delicious! Couldn’t have asked for a better day in Buenes Aires!
Juan was very helpful and did great job explaining the various neighborhoods and monuments.
A great day. Max, our guide was very knowledgeable & took great care of us. Would highly recommend this tour.
Fantastic tour with Dario. He tailored the tour to our interests . We stopped at a vegan restaurant for lunch and had a good look around the markets as well as all the other sights mentioned in the itinerary
As i look back on our time in BA, i most fondly remember our time with Alfredo, the world's most accommodating guide. He has a tremendous wealth of knowledge and a great sense of humor to match. And his patience is legendary. My wife and i consider him a hidden treasure.
We felt it was a great experience due to the excellent guide, Dario. He was so knowledgeable and down to earth.
This tour was amazing. To see the beauty and history of Buneous Aires was amazing. We visted the north to the south and all in between
It was great! Not too rushed but yet we felt like we got to really see the area as best we could in one day.
Our driver/tour guide was on time, personable and informative. However, he was not able to accompany us on our Delta Tigre excursion. This was useless. You couldn't understand the voice that was coming through the speakers so we learned nothing. That particular excursion was a waste of time.
A complete day to explore the nice city of Buenos Aires. There is a lot to see. The city is very clean and friendly
We had a full-day excursion with Maximo. He shared so many interesting facts about the city, its history, and culture. It was great to explore different areas of Buenos Aires and really dive deeper into understanding the city and surroundings (Tigre boat trip was wonderful!!!)
We had a great day exploring Buenos Aries and the delta area. Our guide was both informative and keen to show us his city. However, his car was a little cramped for 4 adults and we missed the coloured houses used in the tour advert, so that was rather disappointing, hence only 4 stars.
I would give this tour 15 stars if I could! Emi was a fantastic tour guide with a clear passion for Buenos Aires. His knowledge about the history of the area and the level of detail was incredible. We took this tour on our last full day and were slightly worried it would feel repetitive, but the sites visited and the information provided by Emi were all brand new! This was absolutely a highlight of our trip. They also accommodated us with a last minute date change after the general strike would have led us to miss the boat trip, which was greatly appreciated.
Alejandro was great! He is very knowledgeable about Buenos Aires, and we were able yo explore so much of the city and experience the best dining during the short amount of time we had.
It was a wonderful tour of city but the Tigre tour didn't happen as they were on strike. So our tour guide told the company to give us a refund for half tour.
Mariana was an excellent tour guide. Full of indormation and very accommodating to our scheduling needs. Would highly recommend.
Tour guide/driver was nice and very informative, and very passionate about his city/country. He took us to plenty of places and gave us time to wander and take pictures. I would skip the Delta del Tigre ride. We were by ourselves, the guide waited for us. It was not that scenic and the boat's speaker system was broken outside. We went inside and could hear the pre-recorded audio better. Not that interesting of an area, expected more wildlife, but there was hardly any, including birds.
Emiliano was a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. He provided interesting historical perspectives as we traveled through all of the parts of this beautiful city. So glad he spent the day showing us this very special place. It certainly helped to.encourage us to visit again. Thanks for a fabulous day!
An excellent tour from start to finish for two couples. Mariano was brilliant from the word go, his knowledge of the Architecture and History of this lovely City was totally infectious. He took us to the main sights, drove and parked skilfully and just looked after us throughout the trip. After a pleasant lunch we had a River cruise which passed some lovely and historic buildings and was extremely restful and relaxing. Mariano made a wonderful and exciting day complete and on behalf of the four of us want to thank him personally for a totally WONDERFUL day in Buenos Aires. ( Carol, Graham, Brian and Irene )
Four of us booked this private tour for 9 hours to see Buenos Aires. Our guide was Mariano who was so great and informative. He tailored the tour a bit for us as we requested. It really was an amazing tour which showed us so much of the city and delta. I would really recommend Mariano as a guide he is a credit to the company.
We had a fantastic tour of Buenos Aires with Max. He is a very knowledgeable young man, accommodating and genuinely caring. The tour was extremely interesting, rich in history, and full of important facts that really helped us understand the city. Max made our visit truly memorable by making sure all our needs were taken care of and that we were comfortable throughout the day. He showed us amazing sights and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Highly recommended!
Luis was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and we all truly had a fabulous experience
Comprehensive overview of Buenos Aires and its history and highlights . Great way to get your bearings in a new city. Gerardo had a wealth of knowledge.
Wonderful day with Fernando - we saw all the highlights of Buenos Aires as well as a relaxing ride at the Tigre delta. Experienced wonderful local cafe and steak lunch/dinner. Highly recommend.
Book the private tour, if possible with Emiliano - he is absolutely The Best! History described so that you may understand, looks after you like you are his family. Knows everyone, they save space for you to park, let you try all the food! Amazing experience!
Luka was a great guide. He really loves his city and it came across. He’s a great driver; I really admired his parking skills. The delta boat ride was really beautiful and interesting. I appreciated his guidance through the Recoleta cemetery. We told him we wanted empanadas and he took us to a great place in a beautiful market. We are returning to Buenos Aires in a few weeks and he talked us through where to eat and what to do, giving us many suggestions. When we returned to the ship we clearly saw more of Buenos Aires than our fellow cruisers. I highly recommend this tour.
This was a fantastic full day private tour of Buenos Aires. Gerard was an amazing guide fun, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable. He shared so much interesting history about Argentina and Buenos Aires, and explained everything in a way that was easy to follow and genuinely entertaining. We got a great feel for the city and its culture, and he was very accommodating allowing us to do more given the timeframe. Would 100% recommend booking this tour, and with Gerard, if you want a memorable experience!
The driver and the guide were outstanding. You were able to see many beautiful sections of Buenos Aires as the history of the particular area was explained to you. The Tigres Delta was beautiful, you stopped for lunch, you stopped to shop. A great day all around.
Wanted to start out by letting you know our driver‘s name was Emi . Probably one of the most experienced tour guides we’ve ever had. We were on an eight hour tour around Buenos Aires and he hit all the favorite spots and knew everything about any questions we had. I would definitely recommend him. if you’re looking for a guide to give you a full days work and experience. He was making us feel comfortable and giving us much of the information before we even had to ask. Highly recommend…..
This must be the best way to get to see most of what Buenos Aires has to offer. Our excellent tour guide/driver Gerrard took all the strain and we were left to see all the major sights whilst being driven around in this private tour at a very acceptable price. Gerrard had excellent knowledge which he was enthusiastic to share with us, very proud of his city and rightly so. We would very much recommend this tour.
My husband and I booked a private 9 hr "highlights of Buenos Aires" tour with Depasseios and we enjoyed every moment! Our guide was Mariano and he was professional, funny and so very knowledgeable! We learned so much about the city and it's history - particularly loved the La Boca region and the visit to Tigre - a wonderful "river plate" delta town. Mariano really went above and beyond to make our time memorable - ending the tour with a dinner recommendation (Cafe La Biela in Recoleta) that was a great eclectic cafe with lots of history. Thank you so much, Mariano!!
Leo was a fantastic guide. He is very knowledgeable and great personality which made the tour enjoyable. We saw highlights of Buenos Aires and the Tigre boat tour was the perfect way to end the day.
Mariano is a wealth of information on Argentina. He showed us so many highlights of Buenos Aires varied neighborhoods, he made in fun and educational and we don’t know which experience was our favorite. We had a tasty lunch in Tigre overlooking one of the rivers. Then we took the catamaran tour of the delta, adding to our knowledge of Argentina. The 9-hour tour flew by. *****
Wonderful tour. Guide very informative. Spoke good English. The river cruise very interesting and relaxing.
Very comprehensive and informative tour. Our guide spoke perfect English and had both historical and cultural perspectives
Mateo and Mateos were amazing ! Very helpful and knowledgeable. Made us feel comfortable. Recommended
We had an excellent private tour of Buenos Aires with the Tigre river cruise. Our guide Gerard was outstanding! He not only was knowledgeable, but passionate and proud when showing us his city. We got a first class treatment taking us even to places not on the itinerary. He gave us ample time at every stop and helped us find a nice place to stop for lunch. We flew all night before the trip and appreciated the door to door service from our hotel.
Our cruise ended at 8am and our flight home wasn’t until midnight. This 9 hour tour was perfect for our day. We feel the tour was comprehensive and fun. If we wanted to go to a near by shop, that was ok. When we asked to eat at a cafe near the boat dock, our guide said they didn’t know about the food there but ok. We went at our own pace, taking more time where we wanted or less time. Gabriel was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We had the best fun day, and saw it all!! Wow!!
Mariano was amazing! He ensured we spent little time in traffic, was incredibly informative and was helpful in getting to know buenos aeres and the surrounding neighborhoods well - to understand the history and the cultural significance of different things around “town”. The option to add on transfer to the airport was reasonably priced and greatly appreciated. Mariano’s English and humor were amazing and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience - highly recommend.
We spent a wonderful day with our guide, Emiliano. He made the experience flawless from the communication before the tour to the end. We feel he truly gave us an extensive history lesson and helped us understand the customs and flavors of Buenos Aires. He was entertaining with his stories and made us feel as if we were touring the city with an old friend who knew the best places to go. We would definitely recommend this activity and we further recommend to ask for Emiliano.
Our day started at 9am and ended at 5:30pm and we opted not to go to the Japanese gardens since we’ll be in Japan soon. We saw all the top sites in Buenos Aires. We went to La Boca which is so colorful and stopped at a little window, which you ring a bell, and order empanadas and they were mighty tasty. We saw the Retiro and Recoleta neighborhoods, including the cemetery which is a must see. We’ve never seen this number of incredibly large Mausoleums all in one cemetery. We saw the market in Palermo. We spent the day walking Palermo the day before so had seen everything else here. You’ll need extra time in Palermo because there is a lot to do here. The boat ride on the Tigre River was 1.5 hours and very enjoyable. We took the scenic route to Tigre then took the highway back to Buenos Aires for a few last stops including the library El Ateneo Grand Splendid. Wow a must see spot even if you don’t buy anything. There is a small section of English books if you can’t read Spanish. Our guide Max did a great job. It was a great day and if you only have one or two days we recommend this tour for sure as you’ll see most of Buenos Aires.
This was a perfect all day tour for 2 people, with luggage who had 18 hours to wait for a midnight flight back to the states. We were picked up at the cruise ship port at 9:30, hit the highlights of Buenos Aires. Took a boat ride on the Tigris River and was delivered to the airport at 7:00 p.m. Our driver and guide, Alfredo, was exceptional!
Good but one question? We need to buy our admission tickets to the cemetery. Should that be included?
A phenomenal overview of Buenos Aires. Mariano (our guide) was informative and a delight to spend the day with, providing us context of where we were and a glimpse of the history and culture of Buenos Aires and the Delta Tigre. Loved that he also allowed us to go at our own pace and customize it.
My friend and I booked a private tour. I have never met a guide who lacks so much knowledge. I had to go back to my guidebook to read the historical facts needed to fully understand all the monuments. Before the tour I also asked to be taken to see street art rather than the stadium. This did not happen.
