A nice overview of important sites in Pope Frances’s life in Buenos Aires. It was just two of us with our guide so we went by taxi and walked certain sections. Camilla was very nice and easy to talk to. A lovely way to spend part of our day.

Itinerary
Meet your guide and small group in San Telmo and travel through Buenos Aires. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of the colorful Mama Antula mural, dedicated to Argentina’s first saint, and the historic Santa Casa de Ejercicios Espirituales, an important spiritual landmark closely connected to Pope Francis and his Jesuit roots.
Continue to the impressive Basílica María Auxiliadora y San Carlos, a stunning neo-Gothic church where Pope Francis was baptized on Christmas Day in 1936. Inside, admire its richly decorated interiors and see the historic baptismal font while your guide shares images of the original baptism certificate. Then visit Iglesia Santa María de Almagro, home to the famous Eucharistic Miracle of Buenos Aires. Discover the exact location of the event and learn about the scientific investigation commissioned by Jorge Bergoglio during his time as bishop. Your journey continues at the historic Oratorio Salesiano San Antonio, where faith and football come together. Outside the oratory, learn how Father Lorenzo Massa founded Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro in 1908 — the beloved football club passionately supported by Pope Francis.
Visit the colorful Mural de Jorge Mario Bergoglio, a tribute to Pope Francis and his roots in Flores, perfect for a photo stop. Continue to his birthplace at Casa Natal de Jorge Mario Bergoglio, where you will see the family home façade and commemorative plaque, with archival images shared by your guide. Pass by the Escuela Primaria Nº 8 A. J. Frazier and the former family home at Membrillar 531, both key places from his childhood and youth in the Flores neighborhood. Continue to Capilla Nuestra Señora de la Misericordia, an important early spiritual site where he received his First Communion. End at the historic Basílica San José de Flores, where you will enter the church and visit the confessional linked to his vocation, with free time for the on-site religious shop.
ontinue to the Iglesia y Colegio del Salvador, a landmark Jesuit institution where a young Pope Francis worked as a respected teacher in the 1960s. Then visit the historic Iglesia San Ignacio de Loyola, the oldest surviving church in the city, located in the heart of the Manzana de las Luces and closely tied to the Jesuit heritage. Continue to the beautiful Iglesia San Francisco de Asís, a Franciscan temple whose symbolism reflects the ideals of humility and peace that inspired Bergoglio’s papacy. End the tour at the majestic Catedral Metropolitana de Buenos Aires in Plaza de Mayo, where you will enter and explore the main nave, the altar where he led major masses as Archbishop, and the museum dedicated to his pastoral legacy before becoming Pope.

Great introduction to the city in the footsteps of Pope Francis with our guide Silvia
This was an excellent tour if your interest is in finding about more about Pope Francis’ early life in Buenos Aires. We visited his early family residence and many churches with which he had an association. Our tour guide Roxanna was very professional and so was our driver Fido- they made a great team!
This was a very informative and interesting walk through the life of Jorge Bergolio POPE FRANCES. Silvia our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable sharing volumes of information along the way.
I ended up as the only one on the tour. My guide, Sylvia was very knowledgeable. I got to see the important places in the life of Pope Francis.
I had the most wonderful time during this tour with Silvina & Tullio. They were also able to accommodate a visit to a church where a Eucharistic Miracle happened. Strongly recommended for the amount of information Silvina was able to share!
Silvia was a terrific tour guide. She gave us a wealth of information not just about Pope Francis but the history and culture of Argentina. The bus was very comfortable and Silvia had a lot of photos from the Pope’s life to share with us. We even got to see the changing of the guard at the tomb of General San Martín, liberator of Argentina, Chile, and Peru. Thank you Silvia!!
Sylvia was wonderful, caring and very knowledgeable. She explained the history of the tour spots and added extra details that were very useful. And she was patient and kind.
Maria Emilia was outstanding and very knowledgeable about the life of Pope Francis. She enjoys informing people about the Pope's life and walking his footsteps from the residence where he was born until he became an Archbishop and a Cardinal. He is the first Pope of the western hemisphere. Maria Emilia was very accommodating in allowing us to take photos, taking our time in walking around the various churches and she gave us a snapshot into the history of Argentina. Whether you are Catholic or not, there's always so much to learn about a country from the people that have grown up in it. We highly recommend this tour as it was fascinating learning about this historic figure and the country of Argentina. Cristina Cronin New Braunfels, Texas
Our guide was fantastic. Sylvia was bright, knowledgeable, and entergintic. The tour was informative and very enjoyable.
Silvia was an amazing guide, taking us from Francis’s childhood home, through his old neighborhood and by his school, to his basilica and cathedral as an adult, sharing photos and stories of his life along the way. A fascinating tour!
Victor was a gracious guide as he explained the early life of Jorge Bergoglio and his rise to Pope Francis. His early schools, parish’s and homes and ultimately the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral. The tour touched on both the autobiographical and historical sites. The Cathedral was closed on our tour day but we visited another day on our own to conclude the experience.
We had an incredible tour we wanted to visit the places important in the life of Pope Francisco and we did, our guide Victor made everything possible to make our visit enjoyable and worthwhile also the driver was very friendly. It is a very difficult tour to find and we were very pleased to find it and highly recommend it.
My guide Silvia was amazing- knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed the topic she was talking about. Loved her ability to use a iPad and share pictures as she spoke to the history. This was honestly the best tour I took. As a Catholic, The tour spoke to so many things on the road to being a pope that Jorge later Frances took- definitely humanized him in a way that deepened my appreciation for him as our pope. It also gave space for the fact that this is for some a religious experience that needs space differently from other tours. Loved loved love the guide and this tour!
Guide took time out to explain any questions, even those not directly involved in the tour. The tour itself was insightful with places both on and off the beaten path. This is definitely a case of you get what you pay for, and in a good way.
I had my 15 year old with me and we enjoyed this tour a lot. We are not religious folks, but Pope Francis is such a wonderful individual, to experience his childhood and follow his footsteps is inspiring for anyone. Our tour guide Sylvia did not miss a thing. She was thorough and we also got to see such beautiful churches. A nice break from the touristy sites and into the heart of the porteños. During our tour, everyone was so kind and also added their own tidbits to our tour. One stranger was happy to share the "he was their Vatican Messi!" We highly recommend this tour.
Our tour guide Sylvia was awesome. She gave us so much information about Pope Francis. Highly recommend this tour.
Seeing Pope Francis birth place and what shaped him of who he was, was extraordinary. Visited the Plaza de Mayo and was able to know and learned the significance of each building in the history of Argentina. Great places to see while in Buenos Aires.
Carlos was an excellent guide who showed us all the formative places in the life of Jorge Bergoglio before he became Pope Francis. A bonus experience was seeing the changing of the guard at the tomb adjacent to the Cathedral.
Was very impressed with amount of research Sylvia had done! Appreciated pictures of the pope and his family. Even though a couple of the churches were closed I still felt it was a very worthwhile tour. Although I am not Catholic I found it very interesting.
I absolutely loved this tour! My guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about these sacred locations, and kindly answered my questions along the way, with ample time for photo opps as well. It was everything I hoped for!
This is a very new tour customized to those who are interested in seeing the places that are related and important in the life of Pope Francis. We started the tour at the house where Pope Francis grew up in the Flores District, the visited the public school and the Catholic School where he studied, then we proceed to this beautiful Church where he was baptized, and then to Buenos Aires to the University where he taught and ended at the Cathedral where he served as Archbishop prior to his election as Pope. Seeing those places is already interesting but since the tour is very new, the guide could have given more information. Maybe as the tour package gets more client, they'll be able to add more information and insights on the life of this first Pope from the Americas.
Silvia did a fantastic job showing us the important sights for this tour! We visited many Catholic Churches, and she explained the significance of each. My wife and I thought she was very knowledgeable.
I really enjoyed this tour. The churches in Buenos Aires are absolutely beautiful. My tour guide, Victor, was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable about so many topics. He told me about Pope Francis, Peronism, Argentina's Dirty War the the disappeared and the general history of Argentina, which is so rich. We saw all the places where Francis lived, which was really nice to see the different parts of Buenos Aires. My favorite part was seeing the place where he had his 'calling' at 17 years old. It's a confessional at a church. We also saw where he was baptized. There's definitely a special feeling at these places, something I can't quite put my finger on. It's a very spiritual feeling. Victor was super. He knows so much history about so many things. He's very smart.
Our tour was led by Carlos, a knowledgeable young guide, but hampered by inaccessibility to any of the houses where Jorge Bergoglio lived and the schools he attended. The Church where his parents were married and he was baptized was closed. The favelas (where he gained his deserved reputation as a champion for the poor) were not included, even from a distance, nor were any of the Jesuit locations associated with his careful leadership at the time of the military Junta. The one touching aspect of the tour was the small plaza where the future Pope chased the soccer ball with his friends (corria tras la pelota con sus amigos) and spent the afternoon encountering their friendship (eran trades de judges, encuentros y amistad) manifesting what his papacy has emphasized: the importance of the 'encounter.'
We were just 2 with the guide and we travelled the city by taxi. Lots of important and interesting information about life in BsAs and history and background of the Pope.. You learn alot the Pope's background in Argentina, You get to see the city and experience BsAs by car ( which is in and of itself an experience)

Our tour guide was helpful and made the tour enjoyable. But we feel we should have been driven to the place we started from, versus left on our own to get back.

We had a very nice walking tour in Buenos Aires and I loved that our tour guide had alot of knowledge of the city and its history. I would highly recommend walking tours whenever possible. I have been using viator for awhile now, and have never been disappointed.

Our guide and driver were excellent! The tour was very informative and allowed us to see many parts of Buenos Aires we otherwise would never have seen! We would certainly do it again and recommend it to our friends! Thank you Viator!

We had a great experience. Our taxi driver and guide were very nice. Our guide was very informative with excellent English

Good tour but guide could have had more background on Pope Francis with clearer English. A world traveller would already know something of the Pope's background and so could do with more local input. It was still a good tour and using a local street taxi was an unusual way of touring.

Very pleasant and friendly tour guide. However, deeper history and explanation of the significance of the sites visited would be helpful. A couple of the stops on the tour are somewhat contrived and you can only view from the outside without access.

We enjoyed the very personalized tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and very accommodating.

The guide was on time and a wealth of information about Pope Francis, very good.

We had a very comprehensive tour , lots of walking for 79 great grandma and daughter, but I made it, heat and all.our tour guide was very well informed about all the church's we visited..
My one complaint was when we arrived at the office in San Telmo by taxi, no one was in sight anywhere, office closed because of holiday. We left but decided to go back once more and our tour. guide was down a couple of blocks and motioned to us. If the office is closed , someone should be there early to meet tourists.
We almost missed our tour.

Very good... very attentive guides
We did the tour of Pope Francis with the guide Roxana and it was simply amazing! We went through all the main points that involved the Pope's life. Rosana was very attentive taught us a lot and took several amazing photos! I recommend!
We went with the guide Cassandra. Wonderful tour! Super recommend! We passed through the four stages of the pope’s life, the places where he lived, studied, taught, the mural and several beautiful churches. The guide was wonderful
A great experience! The guide Suzana very friendly, early and clear in the information about the tour. My whole family loved it.
Silvia excellent guide, the tour shows chronologically the life and most important places of Pope Francis, the super good and safe transport. All the staff very attentive, very places visited. Super recommended this tour.
I made the booked tour with my maid. Guide Graciele and very attentive driver. Beautiful churches that were visited. It was worth it!
