The tango show was absolutely incredible! The dancers, musicians, and singers delivered a captivating performance that was well worth seeing. If you’re planning to go, I’d recommend skipping the dinner package and just attending the show. The performance is the real highlight and provides an unforgettable experience on its own.
The venue was very cool, and we decided to go for the VIP with dinner package to make it a special experience. For the extra cost we got to sit in one of the balcony boxes, which was very nice. It gave us a very good view of the stage, and included a glass of average quality bubbles. But it was definitely not worth the extra cost. The food was the same as if you were sitting on the main floor, and it was horrible! Had a soup for starter, and it was dull and lukewarm. The piece of meat that was supposed to be a steak was so tough and tasteless that it should never have been let inside a restaurant. Chose a caramel pudding for dessert which was quite ok. The wines they served was a mediocre red, and a very sweet white. That was the choice. The service was also not very impressing. My advice would be to eat at Mac Donalds before the show. It actually taste better, and you would save a lot of money. The performers were very skilled, but I found the sound level too high for the place, and the tango they presented I found to be very hard and aggressive, and not what we wanted. There are softer and more romantic tango out there. That is of course personal preferanser, and nothing to do with the venue. If you think this could be your style, then my advise would definitely be: Skip the dinner and the VIP package because that is a waste of money, and just go and Watch the show.
Loved that the show included live traditional music and song as well as a history of the tango as told by the various dances. The dancers were phenomenal and included some very difficult moves. The foods served was average but we were really there for the show. Loved that wine was included with the meal. The venue was intimate and not crowded. We could see the stage very well.
We did dinner and show … it was excellent
We were very pleased with the whole experience. The food was delicious with great service. The show included more than just dancing. The dancers are incredible but the live Orchestra, along with the singing made the whole experience unforgettable. An amazing performance.
Extremely low-quality food! The establishment feels old and unappealing, with no air conditioning or fresh air. The tango performance was mediocre and lacked uniqueness. It felt more like a tourist trap than an authentic Argentinian tango show. Seek alternatives; it was a complete waste of money.
Yes, it was too warm in the theater. Yes, the food was merely average. Yes, there was a longish wait between dinner and the show. And yet we walked out saying “That was AWESOME.” The singers, dancers and musicians were terrific. It’s all about expectations, I guess! A couple notes: from the lobby to the theater is a couple flights of steps that would be a challenge for those with mobility issues. Staff members were lovely but had limited English. Bring your patience and your translation app.
The tango show was excellent. The dinner left a lot to be desired. Terrible steak for me. Tasteless pasta for her.
Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience. Though the tango show itself was lovely, we had paid for the dinner and VIP. When we arrived, we were surprised to find there was no air conditioning. In fact, the temperature was unbearable. My wife was sweating so bad she used ice cubes to cool her forehead and chest. We complained several times to staff members. All they apologized and told us there in nothing they could do. It seems the air conditioning system was broken. However, the system being down was not our fault and it negatively affected our experience. The manager told us they would call Viator and ask for a refund. The truth is we didn’t need an entire refund. Just respect and acknowledgment about our situation. A discount or part credit would have sufficed. The biggest issue for us was how we were treated by Viator. The customer support was absolutely terrible. They treated us disrespectfully and ignored our pleas. In fact, at one point they told us our expirations were too high because we were American. Actually, we happen to be Canadian, which is besides the point. We’ve used Viator before and we’re happy. This time they failed us. Very sad. Customer support is so important. This support was the terrible and we have a bad taste in our mouths.
There was too much over-the-top singing, and the dancing and music, though skilled and accurately rendered, lacked any emotion. It felt like a tourist show that did not get at the heart of tango like we've seen elsewhere, even in the streets of San Telmo. The sound system was harsh and too loud, and the venue was uncomfortably warm. By contrast, we had thoroughly enjoyed the more intimate show at El Viejo Almacen.
Fabulous experience and highly recommended - we’re not huge dance fans but we thought when in Buenos Aires….and it was a must see
Awesome experience. I was traveling solo yet I had a great time. Dinner was good, the show was awesome. The tango lesson prior to the show is a must. I definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone. Di
Overall it exceeded my expectations. The performers were pretty good, but the performance did not start until almost 10pm. The theater was VERY warm—there is no AC, so be sure to dress lightly or bring a fan. We did dinner and the show. The wine was decent and I’d say the same for the food. I had the chicken and it was above average; my spouse had the steak, and while it was cooked correctly temperature wise, it was very tough. Desserts were low quality—my flan had a broken/curdled texture; however, the soup was fantastic. We did not have high expectations for the food, so our review would have been higher had the room temperature been more comfortable and the show started a little earlier.
We went to the dinner show. Both the food & the dancers were amazing! The show didn’t start till 9:30 ish. Be prepared for a late evening.
Older building so not much air conditioning but is beautiful. Food was great. Service was great and show was awesome.
There was no AC which made the hours spent pretty unbearable. I went for the dinner experience to get better seats but the steak was SO tough, I couldn’t really eat it. The empanadas and flan were good though. The show was ok, a bit over choreographed but fine overall. Would recommend finding another tango show that has AC at least!
We purchased tickets for the Tango show and dinner. As our seating was premium, we had a good view of the stage. The tango show itself surpassed our expectations; both the male and female singers had beautiful voices, and the dancers were excellent. However, the dinner was merely so-so.
Superb performance—the dancers and musicians were outstanding. We loved the ambience of the hall as well. We enjoyed a delicious three course dinner. Overall—a fantastic experience. Go for the premium!
We arrived about 20:30 and had more than enough time to enjoy our dinner. Do not get the crêpes that was not a good choice. The steak was so so. The atmosphere and ambience was nice and the theater was quite beautiful. The show was very fun and the musicians were outstanding. The show lasts an hour, which is the perfect amount of time.
I thought the show was a five star in acrobatics and in degree of difficulty, but was not really what I was expecting, tango, porteño more representative of what tango is all about and not a ballet dancing
Forget the food and drinks go for show. The venue and production was wonderful. The food was bland and cold. You are going get a bottle of red which was OK. No chardonnay.
Friendly staff Great atmosphere Authentic period Theatre Dancers and musicians absolute professionals Am a Piazzola composer fan and loved the performance Highly recommended
The food is dreadful The venue is dated The show starts very late and the wait is so boring. Very bad choice we wish we never came
Great dancing, nice venue— although difficult to find in a dark interior mall. We opted for “show only” and were glad to have made that choice. Wine was undrinkable; food looked pretty unpalatable.
Very good show in a beautiful room. Life band music and very good dancers. Tango lesson is offered before the show.
Welcomed by front-of-house staff. Floor staff friendly and helpful. Waiter attentive and provided friendly service. Guido and Florencia provided a fun introduction class. Highly professional musicians - the leadership and playing were exemplary. The dancers and singers showed great collaboration and timing. All music was carefully chosen. The closing number was very emotive. Bravo!
The venue was difficult to find. The theater is two floors below a shopping arcade. There were no signs on Florida street. A street vendor pointed the way. The food was not great I suggest skipping this option. Pay for your drinks with pesos, the exchange rate is bad. Most importantly look for the fire exits. There are no emergency exits. There is only one way in and one way out. In an emergency you must climb back up the two floor you came in from. An emergency in the arcade above would leave you trapped.
What an amazing show. We’ve seen Tango shows before, but nothing like this! From the opening number to the final, we were glued to the stage. The lighting, costumes, live orchestra were amazing. All that was surpassed by the 14 Tango dancers. What athleticism, timing, and professionalism. And oh yeah, the food was wonderful. Arrive early and join in the Tango lessons
Lots of variety, good food, great dancers, dancing started a little late, free dance lesson if you come early
Open bar of wine & beer for the Dinner option is a big lie! They give you 1 bottle of the cheapest wine per couple, and you have to pay extra for any additional alcoholic drinks. The show was great, but the dinner was far below average (the steak wasn’t good with a funny taste and the fish was meh, some of the options from the menu were unavailable). I would recommend the show only, the dinner is not worth the price.
I have been to several tango shows this by far my favorite. My kids all ages loved iit. The dinner I would pass on it and just go to the show. Way to much time for dinner and sitting around the food was ok I have to say we didn’t eat much of it.
The show was incredible, really shows the evolution from the more classical tango of the first half of the 1900s into Piazzolla’a new tango. It starts as ballroom and builds into spectacular modern dance and music. The musicians and dancers were all spectacular and the show has the perfect duration. The dinner was fine, especially since the venue is so pretty, but you can eat and drink better in Buenos Aires for the additional price. Since we were 9, getting the full package was convenient and the brief tango lesson before dinner was a neat surprise. Highly recommended.
The dancing was superlative and the musicians were unmatched for creativity and talent. It felt like we were sitting in a speak-easy from the Roaring 20’s!
Perfect amount of time. Great singing and dancing. Enjoyed that we could do just the show (which comes with 2 drinks) because our hotel was just a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Wish there was an option to do the earlier show without dinner to walk on busier streets after the show. Felt a little less safe walling after 11pm on the streets after everything was closed.
It was great. The show was outstanding with great dancers. The food was delicious and so was the wine. It was a great experience that characterizesArgentina. Highly recommended.
We enjoy the tango dancers, but the restaurant service was terrible, we had worse seats possible, have to argue with the waiter that our drinks are included
My wife and I really enjoyed this dinner and tango evening. The place is very romantic, something that adds charm to the show with first-rate dancers, excellent singers, and the orchestra was even better. Highly recommended.
The show is exciting, worth a lot, the dinner I would dispens.
Very good show of the deal made, thank you Iván, Sebastian, Anjeli, Olin, Arturo
I got the information that I should be there at 20:15, but the show (short) only started at 22:00. Dinner service was slow and some people were clearly bored. Food and service ok. Good wines offered. The music was better than the dance, although it brought some innovative, unusual elements in a tango show. People more obese dancing (which I think great) and some light references to the SM universe.
Wonderful show, really a dance and music show... basic dinner, could have more options on the wine chart. Very good service.
Great atmosphere and really suggestive experience! You can eat in a real theater and enjoy an exciting show with live music and really good performers!
Every time I go to Buenos Aires, I choose a dinner with a Tango show to visit. This time the chosen one was Piazzolla Tango. I was a little disappointed. I expected more dancers in the show, I expected them to play more well-known tangos (the famous ones only played "Por una cabeza"), the food also left something to be desired. Average environment. NOT WORTH I paid $80. I am not coming back.
Good service until the tip was not what was expected. They stop by the table to take photos and then charge 12 dollars, but it seems like there's no way to deny it and at no point were we informed of the price. Another point is the quality of the food, average. It's not worth the price. And finally, the still water served was not mineral :/, it seemed to come from the tap. The show was better than the shows.
The show itself was pretty cool, but the meal leaves a lot to be desired. Furthermore, the waitress was no longer reluctant due to lack of space. It's not worth the price paid. It's definitely better to pay a little more to go to another tango house, as it's an unmissable attraction in Buenos Aires.
Comida rica, el teatro es un ambiente agradable y buen servicio, si pensé que los bailes de Tango iban a ser más clásicos
The show is beautiful, many talented actors comfortable Mood. I didn't attend dinner. I recommend everyone to watch the show
