Show was meant to start at 9:30 pm as viewed on website! Started at 10pm and Waitress told me that’s exactly the time it starts every night!!! They should update their website with the correct information. I was freezing cold as they put me in the very back behind everyone else with a draft coming from outside! I asked to be moved but they wouldn’t, even though there were places I could have been moved to! The audio was so loud that it affected the sound of the music and the singing. In the future I will go elsewhere for hopefully a much better experience.
Such an enchanting evening of Argentinian dance. It’s authentic and gives you the vibe of being transported back in time.
I'm torn about this one. This should have been a 5-star review because the show itself was AMAZING! The singers and dancers were fantastic, and the theater had a charming, nostalgic atmosphere. However, a few things took away from the overall experience. I'd read similar complaints from other reviewers, so I was somewhat prepared, but they were still frustrating. First, if you order food or drinks and pay by card, they make you leave before the show ends to settle your bill. This seems completely unnecessary, especially since portable card machines are common throughout Buenos Aires. There's no reason guests should have to miss part of the performance just to pay. At the very least, they could communicate this policy clearly beforehand, either verbally or with a note, so guests know what to expect. Luckily, I was already aware of it from other reviews. Second, as others have mentioned, the show actually starts at 10 PM, not 9:30 PM as advertised, so keep that in mind when planning your evening. Lastly, the building was a bit difficult to find. Better signage would definitely help. Overall, the performance itself deserves 5 stars. It's a shame that a few easily fixable issues took away from an otherwise wonderful experience.
We opted for the show only experience. The show itself was great; the performers were excellent and the theatre was lovely. However, those who had opted for the dinner and show experience were being served their food throughout the show which restricted our view at times. We were also given the bill for our drinks mid-show and then disturbed a second time asking to pay which was totally unnecessary and caused annoyance across quite a few tables around us. Paying by card was only possible outside the main theatre area so I think we were expected to leave mid-show to pay (which we politely declined as we wanted to watch the show). It did dampen our experience of the night a little but the show itself was excellent and would recommend.
Be warned: potential scam / serious ticketing issue. This venue appears to have a serious problem with its ticketing website, and our experience was extremely disappointing. We purchased tickets through the website linked from the official Buenos Aires government website, and the venue’s own Instagram account, which has around 30,000 followers, also directed customers to the same website. When we arrived at the box office, we were told that the website had recently been hacked and that a police report had already been filed. However, after repeatedly contacting them by email, we eventually received a copy of a police report dated several days after the incident. According to the report, people had allegedly been scammed through the website for two months before action was taken. What makes this even worse is that, instead of offering us a refund or an appropriate solution, they offered to sell us new tickets after we had already lost money through the fraudulent website they were directing customers to. Whether this was negligence, poor security, or something else, the way this situation was handled was completely unacceptable. Customers should not be left exposed to a potentially fraudulent ticketing website for months, particularly when that website is being promoted through official and highly visible channels. Be extremely careful before purchasing tickets. There is a potential scam associated with the ticketing website, and based on our experience, I would strongly recommend verifying everything directly with the venue before paying.
Fantastic experience and a must see in BA. I booked this because of the great reviews and was very happy with the overall experience. The historic theater and the performances were incredible. The hosts and the service staff were very attentive and the made sure every guest was well taken care of.
Wow!! What an experience! The theater had such a lovely atmosphere and the performance was excellent. A great adjective to describe the performance is hot!
The experience was absolutely wonderful. The show was beautifully performed, with incredible dancers, music, and choreography. The atmosphere was elegant and immersive, making it a memorable way to experience Argentine tango. The service was really good. We truly enjoyed the entire evening and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Buenos Aires.
Amazing musical experience! Not only the dancers, but also the singers and the musicians were much better than what I expected. Piano, bass, violin, bandoneon, etc, were of very profesional quality! My kids and my wife enjoyed the show. The grandparents were so impressed with the show that they remained emotional for many hours after the show!
At first, everything looks normal, 1.5 hours before the show, we received a email saying our reservation was canceled (after being charged to our credit card). We immediately got in contact with TripAdvisor that was serving as a messenger to understand that the vendor, was rejecting our reservation and asking us to rebook the next day, this was impossible because we were leaving the next day. We decided to show up to the establishment to find out that due to another couple, celebrating their anniversary, the vendor, to acomodate to this couple, they just decided to cancel our reservation.. Because we were there in person, they felt pressured to honor and acomodate our previously made and paid reservation. The show was supposed to start at 9, it started at 10:20. The presentation of the food was aceptable but it took forever to be served. The quality of the meat was ok, but not for the cost of the meal. The host of the establishment were very nice and proper. The show, even it started late, was absolutely wonderful. The dancers were super professionals, the singers and musicians were second to none.. The establishment: Need to honor, first come first served. The food service: Needs to be served more on time and in a more efficient way. The quality of the meat: Come on, it's Argentina, one of the best in the world in meat production, for the price, they can do a bit better.
We chose the show only option and we could not fault the show itself, the dancers and musicians were so talented. Some aspects that werent great were that we booked the show for 9:30 but it actually started at 10. We also had the waiter interrupt us before the show ended insisting we needed to pay during the dances, requiring us to leave the table and miss the end. Overall, still worth seeing though
The show was pretty good, it does get repetitive after 30 minutes but it’s worth going to see. It lasts an hour; but it doesn’t start until 10pm. The company that organise this aren’t the best, they messaged me a link to choose my pick up point twice, but the link didn’t work for me. I communicated this with them and they took several days to reply stating that pick up is not included with the “show only” option… so why message asking for my pick up location!!
Love the whole experience the show was only an hour we were sitted by 8pm and dinner was drawn out, show didn’t start till 10pm
Great show! We went with our two teenaged girls and all loved it. My youngest plays the violin and was enthralled by the glamorous and talented concertmaster in the live orchestra. The dancers were spectacular and the setting was gorgeous. Drinks were good and not super expensive. A great last minute add to our time in BA!
We knew that Buenos Aires lives and breathes tango but tango show was a beautiful proof to all of that! Every performer, every song, every dancer and every music note from the band was beautiful, intriguing and unique. We couldn’t remove our eyes out of the stage and loved it so much. We left show with excitement, love and inspiration inside of us! Totally recommend!
It was beautiful! I recommend it 100%. The singing, the musicians and the dancers did such an amazing job. We left so happy and it was a perfect way to end our trip in Argentina.
Fantastic nights entertainment. Venue was great, show fantastic and service was very good. I recommend you do not get the hotel pick up and drop off option A 10 minute drive was late and took an hour to get to the venue.
Dancing was good. Food was inedible and service was poor. Food was very overpriced. Choices of food was limited for people with dietary issues. A tourist trap.
Excellent performance.I would highly recommend this one!! It was walking distance from Kenton Palace Hotel a big plus!!
Excellent show , highly recommend , good dinner , friendly , smile staff . Beautiful theater with most beautiful dancers , singers and musicians .
The show-only tickets were amazing - the show was so professional and the dancers and musicians are so talented. Loved it
Touristy. US $ 6 for a bottle of water filled up at the tap?. Nice glass bottle. When we try to take it with us they took it away : " We need it to be refilled".
Excellent show, food, drink and transportation to and from the venue. The Tango dance lesson before dinner was fun,
The tango show was beautiful we enjoyed the dancing and singing. The atmosphere and theater was very pretty.
The venue, food, show and experience were well worth it. However if my concierge had not called, I would have been unaware that the pick up/drop off portion was not being honored. Having a driver was important to my party at 2330 at night.!!
What an amazing way to absorb the Argentinian Culture. We only choose the option of the show and it's so worth it. You have singers and different couples dancing with a live band. So good when I'm back I'll do it again!!
show was good, but drink is very expensive and waitress took 50% tips for himself without option. Do not pay 50% tips guy who bring drink to you.
Booked at the door, got off to great start with front row seats and apparently attentive service but this rapidly deteriorated. Dancers were great but tatty and cheap costumes. Food was dire, overcooked starter and main course of steak that was more suited to the sole of my boots than on a plate. Staff never questioned why it wasn’t eaten. Only one of the three choices of dessert was available and this was cheap and synthetic. Swerve this one, or just book the show without the option to dine.
Good show, great location, some parts were hurried and some were slow. Food was average. A production.
I booked this experience and gray line tour contacted me saying there was no availability me tickets and that they would cancel the show. So we did not get to attend. I have not been refunded and there’s no way to contact the tour operator as gray line said to contact the tour operator even though they are the tour operator. They didn’t respond to me when I asked how to get a refund.
The theater is beautiful and all the performers were phenomenal. I was seated in the corner and I was still able to see everything perfectly!
It is a show for tourists. Dancers worked hard and did a great job but were on stage 30% of the time. If you are looking for Argentinian tango experience, find other venue
One of the highlights of my trip. I went because I was told it was the thing to do, and I could not have been more impressed at the end. The dancers & singers were incredible! I was blown away by their talent & skill. If you’re going to go to a Tango show, go to Palacio Tango. Muchos gracias!
I got a text one night before the show saying the venue was "closed" on Sundays. Their Google location says open Sundays and Mondays. Their website says open all days of the year besides two. They offered to change my tickets but I was leaving Argentina and couldn't go any other day than what I booked. I asked for a refund and am now getting ghosted. For being a major tango theater in Buenos Aires, they're extremely unprofessional and steal your money.
Excellent dancing and the music was amazing, place is elegant. We sat on the first bottom side balcony, couldn’t see much, so if you get balcony get at the end not the front. Or sit in the bottom tables right in front of the stage. We got the package with dinner, meat was very hard, so we couldn’t eat. The dessert was amazing, flan with dulce de leche. The place is hard to find, so leave with plenty of time to find it.
We booked a VIP package of show and dinner with this company which scheduled for Sunday. On Saturday, they texted me and told me “Because of the new politic of the company the theater will close on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday….” and asked me to pick a different date. I told them we will only be in the country until Tuesday, so we won’t be able to attend and asked to cancel our tickets for a refund. After that request, they completely ignored all my texts as if nothing happebed. Please DO NOT purchase from this company. You won’t get what you pay for and lose your money along the way.
First of all, the hospitality is bad. While I was taking pics, a photographer just pushed us away to take pics for other guests. No excuse me no sorry, nothing, a disrespectful employee. When I was telling him I’m taking pics in here, he said: IM WORKING HERE. What’s that attitude? Is that okay? I have paid for a ticket as well and I have to be treated nicely as others. Such a shame. The show started at 22:00 instead of 21:30. Not punctual. Overall, the show was nice. But the place and hospitality bad. I would rate it 0/10.
We would have done just the show, which was GREAT!! Dinner was a disappointment. Service was great, venue beautiful but the lack of air conditioning made it uncomfortable.
We had a good time but with a couple of hiccups… Transportation never showed up so we ended up taking an Uber And then the food…. I’m Argentinian and felt embarrassed to see people trying to eat the worst steak we had ever…. The show was great, service good.
Very bad organization from Viator and the show itself. They pump you with cheap alcohol before the start to create a "positive mood". Absolutely rude staff. They demand tips. The show lasts about 45 minutes. There are 2 interesting performances.
When things go wrong you learn the true essences of a company. On my last night in Argentina, Trip Advisor cancel my "confirmed" reservation at 5pm, two hours before I expected to be picked up with my transfer. I only learned of the cancellation after I called TA and asked what time I should expect to be picked up. What's worse is I asked for help in finding another show that evening. They said NO! Amazing! Last minute cancellation and no help finding an alternative. Fortunately, my hotel concierge came through for me. He made a few calls and I had a great Tango experience. Adios para siempre TripAdvisor!
I was pleasantly surprised to attend this tango show and dinner experience. We attended the pre-dinner tango class and even though all of us are already dancers, we enjoyed the half-hour lesson provided. Food was good, with many options; service was fine. The show did not begin like the typical tourist fare, which was great. Overall, I would recommend this to tourists!
The dance performance was really good and the theatre was beautiful. The bus was slow to pick us up and the meal was fine. I might recommend getting yourself to the theatre and eating before
Excellent show, very artistic, high quality and fun. Very professional staff, punctual, good service. The dancers were world class.
Excellent show! I recommend it! The only negative is that we only had transportation on the way back to our vrbo. Great experience for a short visit to Buenos Aires!
The food was great, the service was great, the show was fantastic! We would highly recommend. The only thing is that when you are picked up at 7, fed at 8:15, the show doesn’t start until 10:00, it makes for a very long night.
This experience was absolutely awful. Transportation - I was told I would be picked up at 7, didn’t get picked up til 8 with very little communication. They were adamant to be ready by 7 or risk being left behind. I sat in the lobby waiting and waiting and waiting. Food - Outside of the starter (empanadas), everything else tasted bad. The “lasagna” was made using crêpes instead of pasta and the dessert was bland. My ice cream was already melting when it got to my table. Wine was of terrible quality. Service - left something to be desired Show - The show was decent but didn’t start until 10pm. I sat at my table for an hour and a half eating my terrible food. Unsure why we needed to arrive so early. Overall, this was not worth the money and I learned you can find other tango shows at local bars for a fraction of the price. I did this as a solo traveler and wouldn’t recommend for solo or group traveling. As a solo traveler, they sat me in the corner, alone. Unsure why they couldn’t sit all the solo travelers together. Again, don’t waste your money or your time! This was 4 hours of my vacation I didn’t get back!
It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We got a tango lesson, appetizer, dinner, and dessert. We also were able to take pictures with the tango dancers and see an amazing show. Overall incredible.
The 30 minutes of tango we watched in this five hour experience was great but the total event is far too long and boring. It’s over priced at $139 pp. The food is mediocre. The company said they couldn’t pick us up, which is included, bc of a road closure but out Uber driver got us there fine. I think you can find a better tango experience in BA that isn’t such a tourist trap.
