Fantastic experience, a great blend of history, local knowledge and great cooking guidance! We really enjoyed making the courses and then sitting down with the group to all eat together. Would highly recommend!

We had a lot of fun with this experience! We booked because we were expecting rain during our trip and wanted to have some indoor activities to keep us occupied. Im so glad we found this cooking class! I have a food allergy and they were able to accommodate for every dish we made.
Fun, interactive, filling, informative and tasty! Good for a rainy day activity. Come with an empty stomach.
Great experience - the variety of items prepared was authentic and delicious. Good mix of guests. Lots of hands-on preparation and eating time Highly recommend
This was a wonderful way to get to know Argentina's culture by learning popular meals for the area and learning how to prepare them. The instructors were kind and the event was very well organized. I would highly recommend this experience.
A wonderful 4 hour cooking eating and learning experience. Loved every minute
A must do. Well worth it for new cooks or seasoned veteran cooks, you will learn somethins. Make sure you come hungry!
When we found out we would visit Buenos Aires again after 7 years, we immediately sought out Pachamama for a repeat indoctrination to Argentinean cooking. It was that fun, instructive, and delicious. From hosting this cooking experience in his apartment in 2019 to the new dedicated storefront location in the quiet Las Canitas neighborhood of BA's Palermo district, it was quite a transformation. However, the expertise, flow, and efficiency of the class remained remarkable. Now with two assistants, Franco entertained us for three hours through a full four-course meal which we actually prepared for ourselves. Everyone participated in a meaningful way. Even with seemingly complicated dishes, one had the feeling that there was hope you could re-create each item in your own home. You will come away with pictures, recipes, and good friends from around the world. And you will not need to eat dinner....
Very well-prepared and fun class! We got to make a bunch of recipes as a team and then enjoy them together. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and funny, and we really enjoyed cooking together!
We love participating in cooking experiences when we travel as a family. This cooking experience went above and beyond, not only did they have tastings and cultural introductions. It was well planned and even more importantly, the food was delicious. Francisco was hilarious and made the event special for us.
Taking a cooking class at Pachamama Argentine Cooking Experience was one of the highlights of my time in Buenos Aires. The class was incredibly well organized, fun, and very hands-on from start to finish. We started with a welcome snack while learning about the history of Argentine cuisine, which set the tone for the experience. Then we rolled up our sleeves and cooked several traditional dishes together, including chipá, regional empanadas, humita, and a delicious dulce de leche dessert. Everything was explained clearly, and the instructors made it easy and enjoyable even if you’re not an experienced cook. What I loved most was the atmosphere. The group was small and interactive, so it felt more like cooking with friends than taking a class. The instructors were knowledgeable, funny, and shared lots of tips about Argentine food and culture along the way. At the end we all sat down together to enjoy the meal we prepared, paired with wine, which made it feel like a true Argentine dining experience. It was a great way to meet other travelers while enjoying fantastic food. If you’re visiting Buenos Aires and want something memorable to do, I highly recommend this class. It’s a fun way to learn about the country’s cuisine and leave with recipes you can actually recreate at home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our cooking experience at Pachamama today! Franco and his team were incredible, very kind, and informative! Everything we ate and created was absolutely delicious! Perfection from the Tortitas Mendocinas, sauces, Chipa, Empanadas, Dulce De Leche Crepes to the wines and lemonchello! This experience is dialed in! Thank you for a great event! If you are interested in a cooking experience, I highly recommend Pachamama Argentine Cooking!
If you want to enjoy an authentic and savory Buenos Aires cooking experience, I heartily recommend Pachamama. The cooking class is informative, detailed, and entertaining. Francisco, the owner and a professional chef, and his team, Juan and Peter, were engaging and enjoyable to be with. They took us step by step through the recipes for making empanadas, dulce de leche crepes, humita (savory corn chowder), and cheese bread with quince. The 14 people who joined the class got their hands in the dough, on spoons to stir the ingredients, formed the empanadas with their fingers, tasted as the ingredients came together, and flipped the crepes in the frying pans. In between, we were sipping Malbec and Chardonnays (and water) and were entertained by Francisco’s jokes and stories. Even better, we met people (mostly from the U.S.) who enjoyed easy conversations and sharing their stories. Cooking, particularly in Argentina, is a family experience. And, for a few hours, we were a big family, learning from Francisco, Juan, and Peter, and sharing food and good company. For about three hours on an afternoon, take the time to enjoy the Pachamama cooking class. You'll come away satisfied, with new recipes and possibly some new friends.
Very well organized and multiple dishes made. The class gave us a better understanding of the Argentine culture. I recommend their class.
This was a fantastic cooking class. The owner is so passionate and knowledgeable. Don’t hesitate to book this. Loved everything about this. Food was delicious. Everything was organized. Had a wonderful time .
it’s wonderful and hands on! you get to make and eat all the food you prepare! you definitely leave with a full belly!!
This was a great experience! The staff was so welcoming and friendly, and made it a great time. My wife has celiac and they made sure to accommodate her so that she was still able to participate while also being able to enjoy the food. Great experience!
Great people teaching us about Argentine cuisine. Lots of of fun. Lots of hands on cooking. Great people A great experience
A great experience! From introduction to goodbyes! The best cooking class we have cexperienced. So much fun.
This cooking experience was one of the best we have ever had. Our hosts were excellent chefs who included everyone in the cooking activities. We received recipes to take home and try to recreate the experience! This is a must-do if you enjoy cooking classes.
Great learning experience! Good sized group so we all got a chance to contribute to the cooking. We made traditional dishes and learnt about the history of the dishes as well. The hosts were very polite and great at teaching - they even gave us local recommendations as well. 10/10 would recommend!
Great food — empanadas were the best I had in Argentina. The squash stew was a bit meh but the experience was really good
Had a great time with my daughter. The staff was excellent fun and very informative. The food we made was excellent. It was a really great time.
Friendly and Professional, hands on and great ambience! Learned quite a big that will help with everyday cooking too! Plus had fun, Francisco has a polished set of jokes! ;) keeping us all entertained. Was very enjoyable!
It's a lot of fun and actual hands-on cooking. A little rushed, perhaps, but we covered a lot. The empanada-making is particularly fun.
They are incredibly accommodating and attentive. The location is easy to find and they made the entire experience enjoyable and fun for all. They put a lot of thought into the entire experience. Came in solo and left with friends!
PachaMama When I travel, I often take advantage of any opportunity to get an immersive local experience. The PachaMama Argentine Cooking Experience has been the best to date. The studio: The location was easy to find, and the studio was open enough for a group but also felt intimate. It was very clean and organized. The Experience: It was the perfect blend of hands-on prep and cooking from scratch, as well as informative commentary from the hosts and the short videos provided. They even found opportunities to take pics during the class so you can focus on being present and enjoying yourself. After the session ended, I got access to local recommendations and recipes for all the things we made. The Hosts: All three hosts were incredibly authentic, providing fun commentary, tips, and techniques while being patient. Conclusion: I highly recommend this experience for anyone visiting Buenos Aires! It's great for a solo participant or for groups.
Super fun experience! Staff was friendly funny and really well and effiencient managed all the food preparations so we could make and of course eat wonderfull argentinian food. Yummy!
Today we enjoyed a magnificent event at the Pacha Mama cooking class. Professional courteous and knowledgeable people introduced us to the tastes of Argentinian foods . We were expertly guided in preparing our 5 course lunch which was superb. Not only were the food and the experience great but they also accommodated my vegetarian wife in every way! Having experienced cooking classes all over the world- this one by far was the best and most memorable. If you are traveling to Buenos Airs please don’t miss this cooking adventure.- by far the best in the word!!!
Very fun way to discover Argentine food, we learnt a lot. The team was super helpful and very welcoming !
The positive - clean kitchen, you get the recipes if you want them, getting to meet other travelers. The squash "stew" was good, still needed more salt though. The less positive - You don't actually get to make everything, they break up all the steps to different people. Everyone is involved, but the amount of "cooking" is limited, that was disappointing. Also disappointed in the empanada filling, it was 75% onions, not enough meat, salt or spices (the dough was good). You could also tell they were paying more attention to ending the experience on time rather than the experience itself. I wouldn't recommend this class.
We had a great time learning to cook Argentinian food in a professional kitchen setting. Everything was prepped for the class to move along but still be involved in the cooking process.
My wife and I had a great time learning about Argentina and the food here. The experience was very interesting and the food was awesome. It was also very involved for us and I felt like we got to help a lot with the cooking which helped with the retention for later. All of the instructors were also awesome.
Hard not to write a review that is so positive no one would believe. This is the thing to do on your trip to Buenos Aires - fun, informative, and delicious - such a great time. Thank you thank you - Team Baltimore
Great experience, the hosts were all extremely friendly and created a lively and social atmosphere, food and drinks were delicious and the class was very interactive! Highly recommend!
This was so much fun! Highly recommend. I met new people and learned a lot about the Argentine cuisine and culture. We made four dishes and they share the recipes with you at the end so you can take home and make them :)
What a wonderful experience! Franco and the team were welcoming, funny, personable, and amazing. Their love for Argentina helped our family with teenagers love the country and the food. One of the highlights of our trip.
This was a great experience that I would recommend to everyone. I was able to make and try multiple local dishes with wine along the way :) I enjoyed the group of people I met as well as the instructors. I was able to make a vegetarian alternative to empanadas, so that was great.
This was a wonderful experience, highly, highly recommend! The cooking experience started with a brief history of the country’s food identity and ended with a warm meal among strangers who became friends. Franco made cooking easy, with clear instructions and guidance along the way. He even took free pictures as our hands were full preparing our meal. The team was patient in helping us, answering all questions and encouraging as we tried to make authentic Argentinean foods. Franco and his team were amazing.
A very enjoyable and delicious time. The class started with a tasting of a sample of appetizers and a brief lecture about Argentinian food culture and later while tasting an array of foods prepared a list of great places to experience in the city was discussed. The students actually were able to participate in the preparation of a number of dishes and all the recipes were provided via the Pachamama web site. A delicious and fun experience either solo, family or with your partner.
If you are a food lover and have a few hours to spare, this is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Francesco and his team are amazing - knowledgable, funny & approachable. They were a well-oiled operation. My friends and I had the best time learning, eating and laughing!
My friends and I had an amazing time!! There’s plenty of guidance - even a terrible cook like me managed! The experience was fun and delicious. Highly recommended!
First off the location is so easy to find, very clean, safe and accommodating. The guys are so much fun-and they speak great english/spanish. They take pics and video of all of us as we cooked. Highly recommend this excursion!!
What a fun experience! Franco’s team was excellent, helping us through the cooking steps, telling stories of Argentina’s history and the evolution of the food. They were patient with us and made the 3 hours fly by. Every step of the process was developed perfectly, taking breaks to enjoy the food and pair it with certain drinks. Highly recommendable during a visit to Buenos Aires. The food was so tasty, we basically rolled out of the venue because we ate so much. You are in great hands if you go to Pachamama!
Amazing experience !! The food is incredible and the team in Pachamama makes the experience unforgettable. If you are visiting Buenos Aires for a couple of days, this is the plan you must do !!
Wonderful afternoon cooking at Pachamama. We made empanadas, dulce de leche crepes, humita (savory corn chowder), cheese bread with quince and drank wine and vermouth. The chef and helpers were very friendly and helpful. They really guided us through the cooking experience instead of simply showing us how it was done. Educational, too! We learned about the various regions of Argentina and the food/beverage differences. All of our many questions about culture, Yerba mate, and sports were answered. Also, good restaurant recommendations. All told, a relaxing, enjoyable afternoon. We left with our stomachs full and excited to try the new recipes at home.
Such a lovely experience to connect with a new culture, its food, and wonderful people. Fran welcomed us warmly into his space and kitchen with a Vermouth (my new favorite drink!). I loved how clean and well-organized everything was. Highly recommended! What I really enjoyed was that everyone got to participate and try a bit of everything in the kitchen. We laughed a lot and shared a great time enjoying the food we all prepared together! To top it all off, Fran gave us great local recommendations for restaurants and bars, and even shared a link with the recipes and photos he took during the experience. Everything was so thoughtfully put together!
A great experience! Interactive, educational, fun. Food is great and authentic, plus you get to make it. The hosts are very friendly and well organized. Great way to spend a few hour’s doing something fun during the day.
A true five star experience! Easily one of the highlights of our week stay in Buenos Aires. Fran and the team are personable, informative, organized, and make for a comfortable and fun time shared by all. Advice: do this early on in your trip as they give out a TON of recommendations for food and experiences across Buenos Aires (and elsewhere if you wish). Book this in- you won’t regret it!
Can't recommend enough, a fun, friendly, informative and tasty way to spend time with other travellers during my time in Buenos Aires.
