After a last minute cancellation by a popular Viator tour(!?) we quickly looked and found this tour- so glad we did! Jose took us on a 3 hour exploration of historic Buenos Aires giving us both the history of BA and Argentina but finding also. little treasures of history and culture and art/architecture. Truly an Insiders Tour. We saw one of 2 Anne Frank statues in the world, the Cathedral from where Pope Frances ascended to Papacy, huge frescoes from Argentinian masters inside a galleria, fantastic banks and government buildings echoing their European heritage and new World influences. So much. Jose was a patient informed and passionate guide- truly one of the best we’ve had in 5 years of Viator tours. Buenos Aires is a big vibrant city but our first exposure was so intimate that we feel more at home here than had we done a driving tour. Jose, our guide, is a musician and clearly has a passion for arts and architecture which we love. And so relaxed but kept us moving so we could see all he needed to share.
We really enjoyed our three-hour walk through downtown Buenos Aires with Veronica Ducrey. She knows the city incredibly well — not just the history and architecture, but also the culture and everyday details that bring it all to life. The tour felt relaxed and personal, with plenty of interesting stories and great conversation along the way. Veronica was easy to talk to, very engaging, and clearly passionate about what she does. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and a great way to spend a few hours getting to know the city. Highly recommended.
Some history, some shopping, architecture, cathedrals - you name it we saw it. Aida was spectacular and although it was 40 degrees Celsius she looked after us all the way.
Great tour! English was impeccable and there was no rush. Lovely trip, would recommend to any English youngsters looking for a chilled guide
Great walking tour of some of the highlights of BsAs. Our guide Amaru was knowledgable and passionate about his city. We did the tour in Spanish. 4hrs on foot
We had an amazing experience with Aida as our tour guide in Buenos Aires! She was absolutely fantastic professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. Aida created a custom tour for us, which included a visit to Recoleta. My dad had recently had knee surgery and couldn’t walk long distances, and Aida went out of her way to accommodate him by arranging for him to take a tax to the cemetery so he could still join us. Highly recommend Aida if you’re looking for a thoughtful, flexible, and expert guide in Buenos Aires!
Rosana was everything you would like in a guide. We learned so much about Buenos Aires and Argentina. She spoke excellent English and went at our pace. I had a major problem with a tooth and she recommended ane excellent oral surgeon. I just can't say enough good about her.
Our tour with Rosana was excellent. She is a delight to spend time with. She is very knowledgeable about the history, culture and politics of Argentina and has a relaxed and friendly demeanour. It was a very pleasant and informative way to spend our first morning in Buenos Aires. I highly recommend spending time with Rosana!
Ryanair was a great guide and showed some of the delightful places in Buenos Aries. Rosama also advised us where to go in Boca, which was fascinating.
Ines is a super pleasant and very knowledgeable guide. We had a great time walking with her through BA neighborhoods and learning about this great city.
My husband and I did the Buenos Aires Highlights/Hidden Gems tour and a food tour with Rosana. She is so knowledgeable and speaks great English. She was a joy to be with. She took us to so many places we would have never found on our own. She also gave us recommendations of what to do and where to eat. All of her suggestions were amazing. She's a delight and I'd do another tour with her anytime!
Rosana was a great guide, providing lots of details and moving through the tour at a leisurely but efficient pace. I learned so much about the city and will recommend her to all my friends!
We had a fabulous wander round the streets of Buenos Aires with Juli. She is knowledgeable & oozes passion for her city. The tour took us to places we certainly wouldn’t have found on our own & Juli expertly answered all our questions. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.
We had a wonderful introduction to Buenos Aires’s on our walk with Rosana. Rosana is so friendly as well as enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the city. She has given us a whole list of great recommendations and suggestions for the rest of our trip. It was the perfect start to our holiday.
We had communicated our preferences for this tour ahead of time and Ines was spot on for our pace and preferred sights (since we knew we'd be doing other tours). We had no problems understanding her. She was personable and knowledgeable!
Booked a tour with Julieta for myself, my brother, father, wife, and mother. Lots of different personalities and a few detour requests made along the journey. Julieta did a great job of making everyone happy and shared so much history along the way. I highly recommend her!
My husband and I did the 3-hr Highlights and Hidden Gems of Buenos Aires tour with Carlos. Carlos was very knowledgeable and personable, and his English was excellent. He made us feel very comfortable and was open to questions. Carlos gave us a lot of information about the culture and history of Buenos Aires and Argentina which we did not know. In addition to taking us to several Buenos Aires landmarks, he gave us recommendations for what else to see and do which was very helpful since we had limited time during our 2-day visit. He took us to a wonderful cafe where we had Argentine empanadas, and we ended up going back there later since it was a short walk from our hotel. All in all, it was time well-spent and a good introduction to the city. We would highly recommend him to others.
We are a family of five and booked our tour the night before with Julieta. Wow, what a surprise!! She exceeded our expectations. She is well versed in all things Argentina, engaging, funny and a true delight. One of our daughters was not feeling well and she also helped us navigate the pharmacy. If you are looking for a personalized tour, Julieta will not disappoint. We all enjoyed our time with her.
Ines is a very competent and caring professional, who knows how to adapt to her clients. Every explanation was interesting and understandable. Great moments of sharing in the streets of Buenos Aires. We recommend her +++ !!
Ines was a superstar guide. I booked her at short notice and we went to all the great sights in BA. We went to the markets, shopping, restaurants and to the original off the track parts of the City!
We decided to book a tour with Ines on our first day in Buenos Aires to help us get our bearings and it was the best decision we could have made. Ines is so knowledgeable and passionate about her city and gave us so many incredible recommendations for the rest of our stay, as well as telling us about the amazing history of this great city. If you are planning a visit we can’t recommend Ines enough.
Ines is a fabulous guide! She provided us a wonderful introduction to Buenos Aires with the view of a porteña. Along the way, we had great conversation and we especially appreciated how engaged she was with our 15-year old son in both English and Spanish. It was a nice opportunity for him to practice Spanish and pick up some new words and sayings while learning more about the city and local culture. She left us with some great suggestions for restaurants and local shops. We would 100% recommend her as your guide!
We showed up 15 minutes early and our guide never showed! I called Viator 30 minutes later when she was 15 minutes late and they checked with the tour group she works for, and the tour group told Viator she was not responding to their calls. Viator, a company I love and have used successfully and often for 10 years, told me a refund for the prepaid event could take 7 days once the tour guide (who didn’t show up?) approves it. Seriously? While I love and appreciate Viator and all the wonderful tours we’ve taken through them in Europe and Asia, that is not good customer service when the experience did not occur because of the guide!! Plus, what if she never shows up to approve it?
I gave this tour 4 stars because I think Aida was a good guide. She communicated well and provided some interesting information about the area we walked through (mostly San Telmo) as well as restaurant recommendations. We went on a Friday and were able to spend some time in the San Telmo Market, something we were grateful for when we returned there on Sunday to find it extremely crowded! There were a couple items that were listed as included in the tour that we did not get, specifically a local drink/tasting and tickets for Galeria Güemes. (Aida did take us to a favorite ice cream place, on our request, and we bought the ice cream.) Due to an unexpected protest in the Plaza de Mayo, our meeting point for the start of the tour, we needed to get out of that area fairly quickly. That may have changed the route that Aida originally planned and, together with the ice cream stop, may explain why we missed the Galeria Güemes, but it was not discussed. In general, I find private "hidden gem" tours to be a good way to be introduced to a city.
Rosana was easy to hang out with from the first moment. She asked us what we had done the previous day, then adjusted the experience, so there would be no repetition. It was an unusually hot day, she made sure to give us breaks. She hailed a cab twice for all of us to go to a different part of town for exploration. Her knowledge of the history and culture was extensive. We went to a cafe mid-day for a cool drink and a media luna. This was a pleasant surprise and much needed on a hot, humid day. We ended at the university with Rosanna's extensive information about the history and current status of the university. She made notes for us to explore areas and street fairs during the rest of our time there. We highly recommend Rosana!
The host was unwilling to refund a tour with 18 hours notice because my flight was delayed for 12 hours and I couldn’t take the tour. She sent me information that stated she would get paid no matter what so she wasn’t concerned if I took the tour or not.
I met Aida in Plaza de Mayo, and we embarked on an excellent 3-hour introductory walking tour of the main points of interest in the central city, including a walk into San Telmo and eventually making our way up to Recoleta. She was very informative about the main points of interest along the way and gave me helpful guidance of where to go on my own, including some good restaurant recommendations. Since I had only a short stay in Buenos Aires, Aida's tour provided the perfect orientation to the city.
We were at the meeting point of Puente de la Mujer at 2:50 PM, 10 minutes before the tour was to start. We stayed until 3:30PM, walking the whole bridge back-and-forth and no tour guide showed. Our afternoon was ruined with nothing to do but go back to the hotel. I will be contacting rioter for a refund of money as soon as I can get to a phone that I can talk on, in about one week.
We were a party of 7 and Rosana was our tour guide. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and explained interesting and historical facts in the areas we visited. After the tour my friends and I agreed that we’d seen all the parts of Buenos Aires we wanted to see. Excellent value and truly professional.
We (group of 5) are very pleased to have spent some hours with Rosana. It was our first day in Buenos Aires and Argentina. Rosana was truely welcoming and we had great time with here. She give us good insight to the city, people and country. We visited several areas of the city. Thank you!
We had a great tour with Rosanna and would highly recommend her if you’re considering any kind of tour around Buenos Aires. She arrived at our hotel ahead of schedule, spoke very good English, took us to lots of really interesting places that we’d struggle to discover on our own, including really nice places to eat and shop.
What a fantastic walking tour on our first day in Buenos Aires! Veronica really knows her history and it's clear she loves sharing her knowledge. My husband and I highly recommend Veronica as a tour guide..we packed so much in on Day 1 and definitely felt oriented and more clear about what we wanted to explore next. Need to add that Veronica is a great guide to organize whatever you might want to do in this fabulous city and surrounding area!
We had a wonderful time in Buenos Aires with Rosan. She was approachable, friendly, and knowledgeable. She showed us the best of Buenos Aires and tailored the tour to our interests. She was punctual, professional, and attentive. She spoke fluent English and had a great sense of humor. We learned a lot and had fun. We highly recommend Rosana to anyone who wants an unforgettable experience in Buenos Aires.
We so enjoyed the enthusiasm Julieta showed in sharing the love of her city and country. The walking pace allows guests to observe and enjoy the buildings whilst listening. Julieta shares her knowledge and was a joy to spend a couple of hours with.
Ines, our guide, was a delight - so full of info but nuanced in her discussions. The walk included parts of 4 neighborhoods so we learned a great deal about the past and present. She was very helpful, finding some shade, letting us sit down for a bit but always adding to our knowledge. Highly recommend!
We had a great time with Ines. She showed us around and took us to several really cool places that we would have never found on our own. She was very knowledgeable and personable. Would highly recommend Ines for a tour.
Booked this up at the last minute and so pleased we did. We only had 3 days in Bueno Aires and wanted to see as much as possibly. Rosanna was brilliant. we saw so much more and felt fully immersed into Argentine culture and life. We learnt more than by just reading guide books and Rosanna was full of great suggestions for what to do in the rest of our time there. Thank you for such and enjoyable morning.
Aida is an amazing guide and a wonderful person. We had a wonderful time discovering some hidden gems of Buenos Aires and finding out about Argentina and Buenos Aires’ s history. A memorable experience.
We had just 24 hours in Buenos Aires. We got right off the plane, dropped luggage at the hotel and were off to see the city with Veronica. Was a little afraid that the long trip and little sleep might make it tough for touring but Veronica was so good and so interesting that the five hours sped by. We had some interesting conversations and even exchanged information by e-mail as a follow up on one subject. She really did turn out to be the friend I didn't know I had in B.A. Thank you always, Veronica for making our visit short but great.
Last weekend, we arrived in Buenos Aires a few days before our Antarctica cruise. Since we have never visited BA, I decided to use WithLocals, as I have done on numerous occasions, to book an overview tour with a local guide, so that we would have a basic idea of the city and what we might want to do for the remainder of our time there. Choosing Veronica was a great decision. She was a true Porteno, a longtime guide, well-versed in the history and cultural norms of BA and Argentina, opinionated on many issues, spoke English impeccably and, by the way, very witty and enjoyable to talk with. In addition to visiting and/or discussing the many buildings in and around the Plaza de Mayo, we paraded thru the huge street market held each Sunday, visited some notable shops and learned much about the neighborhoods that we visited. All in all, the time we spent with Veronica was well worthwhile, and I would highly recommend her for any tour(s) in and around Buenos Aires.
We just did the Highlights & Hidden Gems of Buenos Aires with Rosana and we can’t say enough about what a great experience it was! We are only in Buenos Aires for under 48 hours and felt like we saw and did so much in this tour. We saw neighborhoods we probably wouldn’t have gone ourselves. Rosana even took us to La Boca which we didn’t even have on our radar and we got to see the famous stadium there. We saw the Pink House, the “Times Square” of Buenos Aires, Teatro Colón and many more places. She answered all of our questions with great insight and really gave a great flavor of Buenos Aires. Would highly recommend for everyone to book Rosana!!
Had a wonderful walk round the sites of Buenos Aries. Great times had by all. Enjoyed the plaza Mayor and many Deco sites roundctown.
We had an amazing tour with Rosana. She patiently waited for us while we were stuck in traffic. Despite the pouring rain, she walked us through all the historical sites throughout Buenos Aires. Rosana is very passionate, knowledgeable and thorough about her city history. We highly recommend her to anyone who plans on visiting Buenos Aires. She is absolutely an amazing guide.
An amazing tour of BA seeing all the landmarks from a local’s perspective. From the city to La Boca we experienced it all. Rosana was friendly, went above and beyond and gave us lots of tips for our visit. A must do!
We booked this tour with Veronica. She was great, she messaged us on the morning of the tour to check we knew where the meeting point was. When we met her she was immediately really easy to chat to. Her knowledge of the city is amazing and she answered all our questions. We had a great time with lots of laughter and she stayed and had lunch with us at the end which was lovely. I would definitely recommend Veronica for your tour. You will have a great time.
I absolutely loved it. Being a solo traveller in a new a city, it can get intimidating. But Rosanna was very sweet and took her time to tell me about the history of Argentina. We walked around San Telmo and Plaza de Mayo. She even took me to La Boca even though it wasnt part of her original plan. She went out of her way to make sure I am comfortable. She gave me insight on different neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. She also gave amazing recommendations for restaurants. She was absolutely amazing and I am glad I decided to go with her. 🙂 I highly recommend her.
We had the pleasure to do a walk with Rosana. We learnt a lot of San Telmo and colourful La Boca. Rosana is a nice person and provided us with a lot of information. We had a three hours walk, stopped a San Telmo Market for a coffee and alchafores and went further on to La Boca.\nWe can highly recommend this tour with Rosana. We had a good time.
I booked a tour Rosana two hours after landing. And although I was ready to fall asleep standing, this tour was the best idea. Rosana didn’t just show me some of the highlights and more hidden spots of the city, she gave me a context and feel for the city. With a combination of facts about the further past, anecdotes from the nearer part, and explanations of current events she gave me an understanding that would’ve taken weeks if not months to gather otherwise. She answered all my questions without problem, adjusted to my fatigued state gracefully, and was just a pleasure to spend time with. Very, very recommended.
I booked a tour on my second to last day of my trip and I regretted not booking the tour for the beginning of my trip. The information I learned about the city, the culture, and the history was remarkable. I spent the entire next day trying to revisit areas and find new places based off the information I learned. Rosana was very knowledgeable and super friendly. We had a great time and I feel like I got real insight into the city of Buenos Aires and the country of Argentina.
