Itinerary
8:30 am | Our driver pick you up at your hotel in Buenos Aires to go to Carlos Keen town. 9:30 am | Upon your arrival to the stud-farm, the gauchos will invite you to go and get the criollo horses from the neighboring meadow and will then explain gaucho riding equipment jargon to you. After meeting each other, you’ll dress and saddle your horse. Now you’re ready to go riding! Throughout the day, you will cross dirt roads that border wheat and soy fields, cattle farms and estancias. You will also travel through a magnificent forest of acacia trees… all while alternating between walking, trotting and even galloping if you feel like it! 1 pm | After two hours of riding, it will be time for lunch. You will share a typical BBQ lunch with your gaucho guide… It is also an opportunity to try drinking maté while enjoying the rural setting. 2:30 pm | You will then meet up again with your horse and continue riding in order to explore the old center of Carlos Keen town. After that, you will travel through the meadows where the large herds of cows graze. 4:30 pm | Arrival at the stud farm and return to Buenos Aires city.

A great day of riding beautiful horses through the town and lands of Carlos Keen. The host were friendly and attentive, the horses were well-mannered and trained, and the asado was delicious. The trails were easy and safe, and we were joined by dogs to make the ride extra special. I would highly recommend this to experience a day of typical Argentine-style riding at an easy and family friendly level.
We had an absolutely wonderful day. We were total horseriding beginners, but our guide Marcello taught us well and ensured a completely safe but also super enjoyable horseriding experience. We rode like 3.5 hours through the beautiful fields and town, and enjoyed in between a delicious, freshly prepared asado. Also the pickup and dropoff was well-organised, and very friendly. We can definitely 10/10 recommend this experience
Very enjoyable ride , good conversations and good food. The day was hot, I suggest bringing extra water although water was provided with a traditional BBQ. The horses were very friendly and easy enough for a complete beginner. Transportation to and from hotel or residence was provided and accomadtions were made for vegetarian diets. Great experience.
We had a wonderful day riding in the pampas. Marcella was an excellent host, friendly and knowledgeable. While riding we learned about the animals, crops, and plants that we were viewing. His life work is with Polo horses and it shows as his horses are well taken care of. The horses were very safe mounts and didn't spook when a barking dog or vehicle passed by. The Argentinian saddles were very comfortable. The barbecue with grass fed Argentinian beef was delicious and had flavor our grain fed beef lacks. If we return, we'd look into his overnight camping trip.
Fantastic day on beautiful horses. Our gaucho Marcello guided us on a ride around the countryside and could tell us a lot of interesting stories about Argentina and the surrounding area. We had a lovely bbq at Pablo and Marcello's - the sweetest and most warm-hearted people.
My Girlfriend and I wanted a Horseback riding day in the country, small group size, not watching dancing and singing shows and needed transportation from BA. We did not want all the tourist fluff. We got everything we wanted and more with this - we are so glad we went with this trip. The gauchos were great, genuine and very helpful - the horses were great as well - **Note - if you have experience horseback riding and think you might be marginal but not a pro - still say you have advanced experience when they ask you in horse selection - especially if you want to go fast - have a responsive horse etc. The Asado lunch they prepared was perfect - lots of wine and desert and Mate if requested. We had a nice couple from Cali with us and it was great conversation and a great time in general. There was another BA local woman that joined us that has ridden with them multiple times.. Return customers should tell you everything. Even the driver that picked us up was very good, arrived early, (only preferred Spanish so note that, my GF is fluent so a lot of them talking but he was very nice. Ya’ll this group was an easy 5 star and we would go with them again.
Such a terrific day. We really enjoyed our time with our guide, Marcelo. The horses were terrific too. It was quite muddy after a full day of rain the day before so we kept the ride slow. But it was a gorgeous day and really fun. Pablo had a wonderful lunch waiting for us during our lunch break. Highly recommended. This was great.
probably the best thing I did this month. if you dont go here you are basically missing chromosomes.
A 2 hours drive from Buenos Aires to the farm where we had a very memorable ride with Marcello - a true horseman/gaucho! Horses were sound, quiet, and easy to ride. They are clearly well cared for and were outfitted with comfortable (but unusual) saddles. The countryside was beautiful with opportunities to canter and gallop for those interested. Lunch was BBQ Al fresco with red and white wine offered. I highly recommend this excursion and underscore that Marcello was an exceptional host.
Great service. We were picked & dropped back to our hotel. Marcelo was a great host. Made sure we were comfortable on our horses & off we went exploring. It was a fun day.
Our driver Juan was very entertaining on journey to ranch and we discussed everything from politics sport and culture and got some great insights. Arriving at ranch the gaucho were very welcoming and got us paired with horses suited to us. Off we went on the first leg and along the pampas and free to chose to get a few gallops in if desired which the horses really enjoyed. Back for BBQ lunch and the food was so tasty and the mix of nationalities really gelled around the table with great banter while sipping the vino. Round two and back on horseback with taking in a village with a canter through the central park and arriving back at stables. Saddles off and hosing down our steeds where they rolled around in the sand in the paddock like teenagers on a night out. Fantastic day out!!
Amazing day, really authentic experience. The horses were very well behave. Thank you Marcelo for an amazin gaucho horse riding experience
I had an incredible day riding horses with Pablo! I visited on a weekday, so I was lucky enough to be the only person on the tour. I got personalized attention according to my skill and experience which was amazing. Pablo taught me to trot and cantor which I was hesitant to do at first but got more comfortable as the day progressed. Pablo also pointed out important sites as we rode through the fields and the town so I got a good idea about life in Carlos Keen. It was such a wonderful day and I was sad when it ended, especially because I was finally ready to try galloping. I had already rode in the Andes in Mendoza and while fun, that was a true tourist activity while this was real riding. I can't recommend Pablo and this horseback riding experience enough!
A Fantastic day trip! Great horses. I owned horses in my youth. The guide spoke English was jovial and professional. The country side pleasant and perfect for a trot or canter.
It was such a beautiful day. The horse riding was so much fun and lunch was amazing. Only thing I would say is that English wasn’t really spoken. Luckily we had another tourist translate for us
Horseback riding was lots of fun. We were able to canter which was so much fun. Lunch was plentiful and very good. Highly recommend.
I picked this excursion because I wanted riding to be the primary focus and because I wanted to be able to trot and canter. Everything else was secondary. Correspondence was great from initial contact to arranging private transportation. Santiago who spoke perfect English picked me up as arranged at my hostel. The journey to Carlos Keen took a little over an hour . Carlos Keen is a small little village . Likewise the stable at the end of the road was small too. But my horse Chimango was great so responsive and eager to run. Marcelo my gaucho was friendly and helpful and I had a wonderful opportunity to practice my Spanish as we rode through the pampas.. Rode for three hours in the morning. Then had a classic Argentinian meal of asado, choripán, grilled by Emilio and served with some wine. After the meal mounted up again rode through the little village exploring with more chances to run. Finished off the day by sharing maté in true Argentinian fashion. The only negative was the mosquitoes ( the repellent provided did help). Some areas were worse than others but apparently this is not the norm. I would recommend this outing for experienced riders and people wanting an authentic experience. I absolutely loved my day out in the pampas being a gaucho girl.
What a wonderful day! Sunny and beautiful. The horses are well taken care of and delightful, the owner/guide amazing. Lots of butterflies and birds. Highly recommend! Driver was excellent and attentive!
I absolutely loved this. Unlike other tours you actually get to spend a good amount of time on a horse. The use a very different type of saddle than I am used to and it was more comfortable than most of the Dalles I have been in. The food was delicious and so was the wine. They really went out of the way to make sure I had a good time.
This excursion was pretty expensive but we were hoping that it would be worth it. It was an hour and a half trip to get to the farm, and even longer to get home due to traffic. The ride itself was long and the terrain was all pretty boring. There are two reasons why this was enjoyable - the people and the horses. Every person we met was incredibly nice and so warm. The woman who seems to be the farm owner, our guide, and the man who welcomed us in for a warm lunch. They were all lovely. And the horses were so beautiful and sweet. Overall, this would have been a much better experience had it been less expensive and closer to the city.
Very nice day with Marcelo and some quiet and robust horses for different levels of riding knowledge.
