We had the most delightful day with our guide (and new friend!). Alex was so knowledgeable and passionate about Buenos Aires, its history, culture, and everything in between. From pick up to drop off, we felt like we had a friend showing us all the best locations around Buenos Aires. Thank you!!

Itinerary
It is a palace located in front of the Plaza de Mayo that functions as the seat of the National Government. This imposing pink building occupies the site where the Fort of Buenos Aires was erected in 1580. It was the residence of Spanish viceroys and then housed, with some reforms, the authorities of the successive national governments. The current building is the product of the merger of two previous constructions: the presidential headquarters and the Palacio de Correos (on the corner of Hipólito Yrigoyen and Balcarce).
Avenida de Mayo, an important thoroughfare in Buenos Aires that encapsulates the history of the city. From the emblematic Plaza de Mayo with the Casa Rosada to the imposing National Congress, this avenue will surprise you with its architecture from the late 19th century.
It is the main seat of the Catholic Church of Argentina. In addition to being located in a key area of the City of Buenos Aires, it has a long history of disappointments in its construction. The current building is the sixth construction that has been carried out in this place since the second foundation of the City of Buenos Aires. Its final structure is neoclassical and has a profile rarely used in cathedrals, giving it a closer resemblance to a Greek temple than to the classic Catholic building.
Caminito, the famous pedestrian street in Buenos Aires. Located in the colorful neighborhood of La Boca, Caminito is known for its painted houses and rich cultural history. Along this 150-meter curved street, you will find works of art and a lively atmosphere. Discover the history of Italian immigrants, enjoy Argentine tango and taste the delicious local cuisine. Caminito is a window to the vibrant essence of Buenos Aires!
San Telmo Market. This covered market, located in the heart of the neighborhood, combines traditional vegetable and meat shops with an exciting variety of antique dealers. Delve into history as you discover a wide selection of antique artifacts that evoke the city's past. In addition, you can delight your palate with authentic Argentine gastronomy in the bars and restaurants of the market. You cannot miss the opportunity to try the famous empanadas and the delicious barbecue, emblematic dishes of Argentine cuisine. Immerse yourself in an authentic experience that captures the bohemian spirit of Buenos Aires as you wander through this unique market. Let yourself be surprised by the hidden treasures that you will find and enjoy the authenticity of San Telmo in every corner of the market.
Boca Juniors Stadium, one of the most emblematic soccer stadiums in the world. Opened in 1940, this historic place is known as 'The Temple of the Mouth' and has hosted soccer legends such as Maradona, Pelé and Iniesta. With a capacity for 40,000 seated spectators and 57,000 between seats and standing spectators, the stadium is a must-see for soccer lovers. Take a tour of the highlights, explore the locker rooms, and walk the hallowed turf. Immerse yourself in the passion and emotion of this iconic place of Argentine soccer. An unforgettable experience for all sports fans! (Entry: 3 USD)
This imposing 20-meter-high sculpture that dominates the United Nations square was donated to the City of Buenos Aires by its author, the Argentine architect Eduardo Catalano. It is made of stainless steel and aluminum and weighs 18 tons. It is the first sculpture in movement controlled by a hydraulic system and photoelectric cells. The work was inaugurated on April 13, 2002. Its name, "Floralis Generica", is a tribute to all the flowers. It is about the projection of a dream of its creator, that of building a large-scale structure that reflects the dynamism of our time. - At each tourist point they will go down and have between 15 and 20 minutes to take photos. -the guide will be with you at all times and will help you in each photo -I will tell you all the history of Buenos Aires and how it developed over the years. -know the most beautiful bookstore in the world
Puente de la Mujer in the Puerto Madero neighborhood. Designed by the famous architect Santiago Calatrava, this work of art represents the elegance of the Argentine tango. The swing bridge, with one of the largest mechanisms in the world, allows boats to pass through the docks of Puerto Madero. Enjoy panoramic views of the river and modern buildings while capturing memorable photos. The Grand Splendid Athenaeum, chosen by the British newspaper The Guardian as the second most important bookstore in the world, is a place that you cannot miss. Located in the old Grand Splendid theater in the Recoleta neighborhood, it retains its original splendor and elegance. On the old stage, with the velvet curtain ajar, you will find a bar that invites you to sit down with a book in hand. You can also enjoy the comfortable armchairs that are located on both sides of the main room or sit in the exclusive boxes that function as small reading rooms. Immerse yourself in the magic of this incredible bookstore, where you can lose track of time among its shelves full of books. Do not forget to bring your favorite book to enjoy a moment of reading in this fascinating environment. The Ateneo Grand Splendid offers you a unique experience in the world of literature.
Located in the exclusive neighborhood of Recoleta, this place is an essential stop for visitors. The Recoleta Cemetery owes its name to the former convent of the Recoletos monks and to the neighboring Basilica Nuestra Señora del Pilar. It is the most visited cemetery in the city due to its imposing mausoleums and vaults, which house prominent figures in Argentine history. Among them, the famous mausoleum of Eva Perón (Evita) stands out. In addition to its historical value, the cemetery is also an architectural display of the time when the country was an emerging economic powerhouse, with wealthy families competing to build splendid cemeteries. The mausoleums and vaults, designed by important architects, are adorned with marble and sculptures, and more than 90 of them have been declared National Historic Heritage. Don't miss the opportunity to explore this unique place, where history and architecture intertwine in fascinating ways. (Entry: 5 USD)

Walk through the Puerto de Frutos, located in Tigre on the banks of the Luján River, it is a charming pier with a market that keeps a rich history. In the past, this place witnessed the arrival of fruit production from the Paraná Delta, which was then sold in the city of Buenos Aires. Today, the market is a must for visitors, offering a wide variety of local products, handicrafts, and typical cuisine. The picturesque atmosphere and the proximity to the river create a unique experience.

What a great day touring this amazing City with Pablo, who was both very informative and personable. Pablo Just about covered everything interesting in Buenos Aires and included a leisurely cruise around the Tigre Delta. We were even lucky enough to follow the changing of the guard ceremony at the mausoleum of General Don José de San Martín.
We are so grateful that Argentina Highlights was willing and able to reschedule our tour date as a result of our later than expected arrival in Buenos Aires. Much appreciated this above and beyond service. In addition, we were paired with an excellent guide, Daniel, who took such care to make sure we were able to achieve a fantastic visit to his city. That even included two unscheduled stops to enable us to purchase items we wished to have to remember our visit. We could not be happier with our experience and would recommend Argentina Highlights with our highest enthusiasm.
We added 2 additional friends to our tour. A mini van was then added which was expensive but was nice to have all of us on the same tour. We paid for 9 hours of touring which is what the website said but they pushed us into 7 hours which was unfair for the price. We enjoyed what we did see but some items were missed based on losing the 2 hours advertised. Our tour guide spend a fair bit of time on his phone vs talking to us about what we were seeing which took away from the experience.
Our driver/guide Ariel was great. He showed us a both the usual tourist places and also let us experience the lesser known areas of Buenos Aires. He was friendly, had good language skills, and was very accomodating to all of our requests.
Wow, what a fabulous day! We saw all the sights of the city and were not pressured for time. Muhammed was knowledgeable and interesting and very easy to understand. The tour was very personal and we spent time where we wanted. In the afternoon we had a great boat ride on the Tigre Delta and more stops after that. The day really felt like a trip out with a friend and we would highly recommend it. We were only in Buenos Aires for a short time so needed to make the most of it. This tour did exactly that. Thank you Muhammed for a great day out 😀
Very knowledgeable guide who was friendly and trying to make our experience special. Showed us a variety of places with historic facts and details.
We had a wonderful day seeing a lot of what Buenos Aires had to offer. Alejandro was extremely friendly, flexible, well informed and interesting, and made our day both engaging, rewarding and memorable. He did a great job at accommodating our travel constraints and our special requests. He went over and above to make things comfortable for two elderly family members who were traveling with us. He made great recommendations when we were facing options. Thank you for making our visit to Buenos Aires special!
I enjoyed an unhurried thorough tour of Buenos Aires, ate where the locals do and had a fun ice cream experience. Great conversation and lots of laughs. The boat tour was interesting and calming. A must do tour. I would book with this company again.
My driver was Juan Carlos and he met me In the reception of my hotel on time. He was friendly, personable and knowledgeable. He gave me an overview of the day and after each stop he told me what the next stop would be. He gave me ample time to take photos and shared a lot of great personal and historical stories. I absolutely loved my time with him and the trip!! Everything was a highlight and I highly recommend him as your driver and this trip
We would not recommend this tour or tour company, Argentina highlights. On March 25, 2025 , We took this tour on our first full day with our two kids; high school and college age, to get an extensive and informative history of BA. We researched all the sites it was supposed to visit so that in subsequent days on our trip we would be able to see more of those areas we deemed most relevant. Instead our driver arrived late, which we were notified about (30 min) but complained all day about the traffic and drove crazily and far exceeded speed limits at times. His car was inadequate for 4 people with driver and quit on occasion when at stops. He skipped over 1/2 of the sites on the itinerary and when we did stop he stood by his car and we walked alone to the caso rosado, aviendo de mayo and the metropolitan cathedral with no historical information on anything. He skipped San telmo and puerto madero completely and any sites included in them. We made it to the delta boat tour but then he skipped the sites and walking around there which was another 1.5 hours of missed tour. Overall we may have received a 1/2 day poor tour at best. He dropped us off more then 3.5 hours early of a 9 hour tour. We spend the next four days doing other tours to make up for this unfortunate waste of our day to which we had far superior guides and information.
We had a wonderful full day tour with Pablo. He picked us up at our cruise ship and showed us all of Buenos Aires. We had the perfect amount of walking and driving and he got us to the airport in plenty of time for our flight. Pablo is a wealth of information about his country. Viator helped us make the arrangements with this company after a distasteful experience with another tour provider.
This tour was the perfect introduction to Buenos Aires and its environs. My guide, Pablo, was superb - very knowledgeable and perceptive. He picked me up at my hotel, right on time, and we spent the morning in the suburb of Tigre and on a cruise of the estuary. Fascinating! Pablo then customized the itinerary for the rest of the day based on conversations we had during the morning. I imagine he would do the same for all clients. I highly recommend this company, this guide, and this tour.
A car with clutch problems, driver was apologetic and to call for back up. We had lunch and waited. New driver arrived and gave us the rest of a good tour.
Pablo was excellent! We enjoyed the boat tour on the Tiger River, the bookstore, the whole tour. He took pictures of our group and is going to send them to us. Excellent tour with this guide.
Pablo was amazing! Learned a lot about the history, architecture of all the regions of Buenos Aires!
Our guide, Pablo, was an engaging and very knowledgeable. He has an easy-going personality and makes you feel special. We loved hi !
Great private tour of Buenos Aires with excellent tour guide, Juan Andres. Highly recommended. A beautiful city to explore!
Guide was prompt and engaging, tailoring the day to my requests. Highly recommend this day tour of Buenos Aires.
Both Rafael and Sebastian lit up Buenos Aires from the lovely Tigre Delta to the well informed Recolata Cemetery to the Obelisk walking the widest avenue in the World plus an inside tour cathedral! The city walk was amazing and Caminito simply mind blowing. I would thoroughly recommend this tour with Rafeal and Sebastian - excellente!!!
It was a great day with Pablo, who showed us so much of Buenos Aires & was also very knowledgeable about the history of Argentina. We had a delicious lunch (best empanadas of Buenos Aires). It was a long day but we enjoyed every minute of it.
Fantastic tour with our tour guide Juan Adreas who is so wonderfully taking care the entire tour. This experience you will not get from large group via big bus or van. It is somewhat customized to tailor individual tastes and also followed the designed itinerary. A little concern not showing any review on Viator site. It turns out to be a fantastic one.
Very friendly guide, flexible and punctual. The places we visited very nice. Your recommendations for taking great photos.
