Amazing day trip from Buenos Aires to see the pampas. Amy was extremely friendly and a wonderful guide. The farm was beautiful and the hosts were so kind and warm. The food was fantastic and we got to ride the horses. It was a great experience to get to know different people we were traveling with and spend a day away from the city.

Fantastic trip to an estancia. We stopped in a very historic town and walk around for about 20 minutes (we wish we had more time here) then went on to the estancia where we enjoyed awesome empanadas, rode horses, ate lunch and then had dancing, music and a horse show. The whole day was great and the lunch was delicious. Only minor complaint was we wish the horseback riding would have been longer. It was only 15 minutes or so.
A must do. Wonderful guide (Catalina) and driver, incredible facilities and experience. A truly unique tour filled with education, history, and enjoyment.
Such a great day- the estancia is beautiful, and the whole experience felt really authentic. The asado was delicious, and we loved seeing the gauchos. Our guide was super friendly and made everything really easy and enjoyable. Definitely a highlight of our trip
Awesome day tour outside the city. Experience an afternoon at a typical gaucho ranch with a hearty parrillada -BBQ- following by folkloric dancing and horse show.
Very Authentic and a wonderful learning experience. Loved the activities. Would have loved the option of being able to ride the horses more and longer. Even worth paying more for.
Great day trip to family friendly farm. Great empanadas too. Kids loved the horses and dogs and steak.
Our experience at Estancia Gaucho Day in Buenos Aires was truly memorable and exceeded expectations from start to finish. The entire process was seamless—reservations were simple, and transportation was punctual, comfortable, and very well organized both to and from our hotel, which made the day completely stress-free. A special highlight was our tour guide, Sofia who was exceptionally friendly and deeply knowledgeable about gaucho culture. Their passion and insight added so much depth to the experience, helping us truly appreciate the traditions and history behind everything we saw and did. At Hacienda Las Dueñas, we were warmly welcomed by a wonderful family who made us feel right at home. They generously shared traditional drinks, snacks, and a delicious meal, giving us an authentic taste of Argentine hospitality that felt both genuine and heartfelt. The entertainment was another standout moment—the group beautifully showcased gaucho traditions through music, song, and dance, creating an atmosphere that was both lively and culturally rich. Combined with the breathtaking natural beauty of the Pampas and an unforgettable horseback riding experience, the day felt perfectly balanced between relaxation and adventure. Considering the quality of the experience, the attention to detail, and the authenticity throughout, the tour offers excellent value and is very reasonably priced. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience the true spirit of Argentina.
The Estancia was so Beautiful and the staff was so wonderful and attentive to all the details. We felt welcome by the owners. The food was amazing , the animals were adorable and well fed, the Gauchos were very talented and friendly.
A nice day trip outside of Buenos Aires. Our guide was Alejandra and driver was Max. We visited the small private farm and had a lot of animal encounters. Peacocks, chickens, horses, sheep, goats, dogs, cats and even a 3 month old donkey. Our 15 year old had a great time and full of smiles. We got to eat BBQ, feed sheep and ride horses and watched a dancing demonstration and we even got to dance too. If you want a relaxing time while in Buenos Aires, book this adventure. Probably wear old shoes bc they might get dirt on them by the time you leave.
Wonderful day. Lovely to get out to the countryside. Horse riding/carriage drive, music and dancing and horse management skills. Plentiful food and drink, empanadas, barbecue, desserts, wine or soft drinks and coffee. High praise too for our great guide Catalina who provided a running commentary about the gauchos, their history and way of life in three languages. Tip: Don’t eat much for breakfast. There is so much food.: Water on the minibus would have been welcome.
About 120km out of the city so travel time is considerable with the amount of traffic. The guides were very knowledgeable and showed us the historical side as well as the cultural which was appreciated. The estancia delightful with all of the animals being very relaxed and the hosts very hospitable. Food and wine were excellent. A very good tour. Do check with them regarding pick-up points as we had to walk a few kilometres to reach a point for pick-up. Still give a good rating as it was a great day out.
Horseback ride was short but fun, the food was plentiful but not very good. The traditional Argentinian dancing was enjoyable and the horse whisperer was fun to watch. Enjoyable to get out of the city but I’m not sure it was worth the price.
It’s a pleasant day spent in beautiful countryside. The lunch is OK and staff are friendly. Very laidback atmosphere, very relaxing. The horse ride is worth doing even for beginners. We enjoyed the day as a contrast to the city and our guide, Emilia, was outstanding.
This was the best organized Viator tour we have been on. The ranch horse riding, lunch and cultural dancing was wonderful. Our guide and driver were exceptional! One thing that needs to be corrected on the tour description is the requirement to bring passports. There is no reason to require passports and there is no situation where they would be needed or checked.
Carolina made this experience smooth and inclusive, fun! Well organized, with amazing food, educational and fun dancing and horse whispering
Great day out from BA. Beautiful estancia, great food and really knowledgeable guide. Definitely recommend.
A great day activity from Buenos Aires. The Estancia felt very authentic. Entertainment singing / dancing and a horse whisperer plus the horse ride were great. Tiyr guide was good too. Only criticism was the poor communication re pick up and drop off. We weren't made aware that a taxi would pick us up and take us to a different location to wait for the tour bus. A bit more clarity would have been beneficial.
What a wonderful day! Our guide Enrique was outstanding. Very attentive and insured we had the best service, seats and food. His knowledge of Argentina and the gauchos were excellent. Just one thing to remember it truly is a 9 hour day. And the food was amazing! Wonderful time
Pablo was fantastic. Very friendly, charming and informative. He had fantastic knowledge of the Gaucho life and made the trip very memorable Thankyou Pablo
The best empanadas while we were in BA. Nice trip the horse ride was a short loop but if you have never been on a horse I guess it’s good. The finca was nice the food was great. We stopped at some nice places on the way. It broke up the ride. My wife enjoyed the day.
Amazing day in the outskirts of the City. After a quick travel from the City we got to visit the beautiful town of San Antonio de Areco, after that, our guide introduced us to the Family that owns the ranch, and the owner Angie gave us a full intro into their lives that was outstanding. Lunch and activities were awesome, and we got to see some dexterity by the gauchos.
This was a really good day out. Our guide was great and very knowledgeable. The lunch was tasty and a lot of food. Unlimited drinks
This was an amazing experience. Great tour! The people, atmosphere and food were fantastic as was the wine and entertainment
Very beautiful experience. Miriam and Max were very nice people. Food was great and the hacienda was absolutely beautiful.
This tour was incredible and so much fun! The ranch was great and the food was delicious. Honestly, Jael the tour guide, was the one that made our experience that much better! She’s knowledgeable and passionate about Argentina and gives you insight on the culture and what the country has to offer. If you book this tour, highly recommend on asking for her specifically. If we’d stay longer, we’d solely book tours with her, she’s enthusiastic and will give you tips on how to take advantage of your stay.
We had a great experience. Jael was a very good hostess. She made the experience very good. Also the food was amazing continuous meat.
Excellent time was picked up my hotel Myriam our tour guide was great. Very pleasant and knowledgeable. Answered question very friendly. The people at the ranch were great also. Very nice experience I would recommend the tour
Lovely day out, a bit chilli but the day at the estancia made it all better, throughout the ride there our host was amazing in letting us know about the life at the "Pampas" and we got to understand who the gauchos were. Amazing food and a very well organized tour by the company. Everyone was awesome and welcoming.
Great fun day with lots of extras. Prompt pick up quick run down of days events drive with a couple great stops along the way and typical small towns along the way and then on to the ranch. I have horses so knew what to expect and their stock was perfect for the group which ranged from no experience to high level rider (not me). Food and BBQ was great, folk show and folk dances, and horse training demo. Well worth the money!!!
What an amazing day--pick-up was smooth, our tour guide was great telling us about Argentina, the drive to the Pampas was great also. At the estancia, we had a great horseback ride, really great entertainment, and I can't say enough about how great the food was (lots of it too--wine and beer!).
Picked up approx 845am Drove about an hour to gas station & gift shop (gift shop is good if you want to buy leather items or guacho ponchos) 20 minute stop. Drove another hour to a plaza & church, 15 minute stop. At the ranch approx 12pm Welcome reception with drinks under the shade of the Ombu tree was lovely, empanadas were delicious - best I’ve had yet. The ride is approx 20 minutes, not that long really. On the tour it lists trotting and galloping on the horses. These horses aren’t getting out of a very slow, meandering walk. It’s a walk down a dirt road, into a paddock, around the paddock and back. I suppose it’s novelty for some, but it was very boring. The long lunch was beautiful, this went for about 2 hours, the food was great, their Malbec was incredible, so easy and lovely to drink. After dessert & coffee, we went outside to the garden for some live music and watched a couple dance, following that the group was asked if they would like to join in and dance, it was very entertaining. The horse whispering is a sight to see, and was one of my favourite parts. Back into the bus for 2 hours back about 6.30pm It did feel like the stops were just time fillers while we waited to get to the ranch for our booking time, I would have liked to have gotten to the ranch earlier and maybe taken a walk around or read my book in the beautiful gardens. I can see the stops are not popular with other travellers too. Lorena was a lovely guide, she was very informative about Argentina.
Indian whispering and folklore performance I liked the most. The food was also very tasty and traditional.
The horses, the wine. the lunch, the wine and the music and dancing all made for a wonderful afternoon.
We had a great time! Mariela was our guide. She's very personable and caring. Went out of her way to make sure everyone had what they needed. We didn't go to two of stops, museum and church probably because it was a Sunday. The gaucho show was amazing and food excellent. Wine made at the estancia, beer, sodas and water are included. The carriage ride was boring and honestly I could have done without. The van used needed new shock absorbers as the bumps in the highway and especially the road to the estancia were bone jarring Overall an excellent tour and worth the time!
Our guide Sabrina was excellent. She gave us a lot of information about the city as we drove through it, and the countryside we were about to visit. She explained every aspect of our trip in advance, so we knew what to expect. Once at the Estancia, we enjoyed the trail ride; the lunch that was served was excellent - and there was plenty of food and wine. Although we were exhausted by the time we returned, it was a good exhaustion!
This was an excellent experience! Nice bus ride with a very good tour guide. Made the 70 kilometre trip faster with visiting museums and an old church providing rest stops if needed. The horse back riding was safe , not too long and fun. There was a quick lunch provided immediately upon arrival. The best espanadas ever. Later we were dined out in the huge veranda of the main house. We were served entrees of Chicken, Pork, Beef and Lamb. For the brave at heart there was blood sausage and intestines . The service was top notch. The owner mingled with the guests and made sure all was well . This ranch boasts 90 horses and over 300 cattle , never mind sheep and pigs . All dogs are rescued ! All animals very very well looked after . Small entertaining show at the end . A gaucho did some really wild things with his horse.
The visit to San Antonio de Areco was very pleasant; the food at El Ombu was very good (they cater to vegetarians!); the horse ride was lots of fun; the folkloric music and dance added to the wonderful day trip from Buenos Aires.
Fun experience at El Ombu Estancia. Easy drive from Buenos Aires. Personal greeting on arrival and showed to our accommodations, which were very nice. Spacious two qn size beds with real wood fireplace, which they start for you. We spent one night. After settling in, we had delicious empanadas and adult beverages of choice sitting outside under the trees, smelling the delicious lamb which was roasting on the outdoor fire pit. Lunch was served outside at 1:30, many rounds of meat with wine and sides. After a gaucho show with music and dancing, we rode horses, read on the front porch and enjoyed another delicious dinner at 7:30 in the dining room. Staff was super friendly and very accommodating to guests various schedules and needs. I highly recommend this activity. We were told in Buenos Aires by several folks that El Ombu was the best. We agree and enjoyed every minute.
The whole experience was very well done, from getting picked up by our driver, to the bus ride to San Antonio de Areco, to the activities at el Ombu. Nico was a great tour guide with a wide range of knowledge in Argentine history. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone!
Beautiful trip from beginning to end. The pick up at the hotel was punctual. The guide, Aime was wonderful and very well prepared. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The Estancia is like paradise. Beautiful place. Gorgeous, well taken care of horses. The people that work in the Ombu were all very nice and accommodating. The food was awesome and plentiful. The music show and horse show were very entertaining and relaxing. Enjoy!
We had a gaucho tour in San Antonio de Areco. It was a wonderful experience with riding horses, eating a lot of meat and watching some folk performances (we even get to dance). Our guide Miriam was so helpful and knowledgeable. She made sure everything is arranged well. Our driver Daniel need to wait for us because we transfered into 4x4 vehicles going to the estancia because the heavy raines the past days made the road muddy. A little pricey for 150€ without tips but the experience is definitely worth recommending.
Great food and drink in a beautiful setting. Staff at the ranch were friendly and helpful. The children loved the horse riding and even the most nervous rider managed a trot across the pampas! Our guide was knowledgeable and professional with excellent English. A great day out!
I had my guide twice this week & she was AWESOME, OUTSTANDING & SO KNOWLEDGABLE. She was also very empathetic to the groups’ needs on both trips. Really enjoyed getting outside of Buenos Aires to see the countryside & learn more about Argentina!
It was a nice ride out to the ranch with a few stops of interest along the way. The real treat is the ranch itself! The most beautiful setting with fields as far as you can see. Thousands of parakeets singing from the trees and a wonderful setting for lunch and a horseback ride. Take this tour and you will not be disappointed.
The only exception to the excellence of the day was the alleged "horse whisperer". Our guide, Miriam, was fabulous. The little gaucho museum was nice. The estancia was way more fun than I thought it might be. The house riding was actually fun, the food and drinks including wine was plentiful and very good. The dancing and music was great. I was unimpressed with the horse guy and his "tricks". It's just not that big of a deal to pick up a horse's feet or to push it into laying down.
Our guide spoke fluent English, was super friendly and well informed. The first stop is at a gas station and souvenir shop - completely unnecessary and took away time from the other destinations. The stop in the town of San Antonio was a bit short. At the estancia everybody received beef empanadas as a welcome snack. I let them know during the booking, that I was vegetarian, but never received a vegetarian snack. The horse back riding was nice. But we did not receive any instructions and it was rather short. (30 min?) For the barbeque I finally received a vegetarian dish, which was good. The music, dancing and horsewispering was great! All in all the estancia is a beautiful place but the whole tour feels overpriced.
A really fun day. Our guide was wonderful. We had an enjoyable day with lovely food and sensational horsemanship on display. Topped off with some music and dancing.
It was a great excursion! The shop, church and ranch that we visited were so pretty. Our guide, Eugenia was extremely friendly. She answered all our question and made sure that all our experiences were amazing. I would 100% recommend this excursion to anyone who wants to have a great time.
Our guide, Patric, was awesome! He was so knowledgeable about the history and was very friendly and professional. The place was absolutely beautiful and welcoming. It was a fantastic tour! It wasn’t like a typical touristy attraction it was the real thing. I would recommend it to everyone. And the horses were so healthy and happy and well taken care of, more so than any that I have ever seen. Even the dogs all had beaded collars and seemed to be spoiled rotten! The many cows in the pastures were probably the most fortunate cows I have ever seen.
