Booked the wine tasting, dinner and show many months in advance to avoid disappointment, in the recommendation of a friend. The booking was simple and easy with the company confirming straight away asking whether I would like transport. We organised this with them and the driver was on time and friendly for both journeys. When we arrived it was very busy and we had to wait to get in. The doorman sent us through to reception to register and then we were taken up stairs to the tango salon. There was some confusion as the wine tasting group and the tango dancing lesson people merged and the tutor thought he had a huge class! Anyway we were rescued from the tango lesson much to my husband’s relief and taken to the wine room. The wine guide was passionate about wine and we gleamed a few little gems of knowledge. He spoke very fast and unfortunately some was lost in translation. I really enjoyed the experience and for $10 extra it was well worth it. The quality of the dinner before the show was really good however the ‘peaky blinders’ type servers were stressed and blunt. We enjoyed the show although it went on too long. 30 mins less would have been good. Lastly, the servers were blunt in their insistence of tips which I found stressful. All in all a good show for the money.

We weren’t quite sure what to expect, but we received far more than we had anticipated. The dinner was delicious—3 courses with several choices for each. The wait staff was a performance of timing and precision getting orders, drinks, serving, clearing up, all before the performance. The food was cooked perfectly. How they could serve so many people in the time they had was a magician’s feat. Then came the dancers and musicians who were all very talented and seemed to enjoy performing. The dances were simply breathtaking. Everything is carefully planned down to the shoes that were impeccably matched to each costume. It is such a glamorous performance. The inclusion of folkloric was delightful and the bolo dancer/performer was incredible. This is an absolute must see when in Buenos Aires.
Very organized, wonderful staff and beautiful venue. Tables were a bit tight but manageable because we are small people. Show was a combination tango and cultural song and dance. A little touristy but also quite authentic. Food was excellent. Small reminder for guests, don’t hold your phone up and video most of the performance. It blocks others view and pictures.
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening watching tango, eating Argentine steak & drinking Argentinian red wine! Highly recommend this for an evening, we also paid for transport to & from the venue, this worked well and the driver was punctual.
We went during the week and opted to go to dinner nearby before the show. I was worried it would be cheesy because some people commented that it was very touristy, but it didn't feel touristy and the show and venue is so well worth it. We liked that it felt like a more intimate venue rather than a large theater and there was so much variety to the show that we didn't expect. The folklore and gaucho was my favorite part, but the tango, live band and singers were also spectacular. Our whole family was impressed (and half of them are Argentinians). It felt like a good taste of Argentina culture. A must in my opinion if you're looking for a show rather than a milonga.
The tango show is breathtaking and mixed up with old argentinian songs and performances (guitar sort of, drums and some stones in a kind of bola!). Entré and dessert was good, main course not. Staff was very well organised and efficient
Fantastic Tango performance! Dancers, orchestra, singers all so talented! The dinner was excellent and served in an exquisite manner.
The food was OK but the show was fantastic. Went here with my wife while I’m Buenos Aires would recommend the show to anyone. Nice intimate location to watch a tango show.
This was a really fun show! I was honestly a little worried we'd be watching tango dancing for 90 minutes, but it was a great mix of singing, tango dancing, gaucho dancing, indigenous music, and more! Food was great as well - got to have the steak... I 100% recommend this experience!
The tango show itself was simply amazing! The food and wine selection is simply bad. I would recommend choosing the show only option without the dinner.
Must see when in Argentina. What else can I say. This was more than a performance it was passionate and informative.
This was a great night. The venue is fun and the staff very good. The show was also great. Only complaint was that my steak was overcooked.
Amazing show and dinner! The place is very beautiful inside, staff was amazing, I was on my own so they sat me right upfront vip . Steak dinner was incredible and the dancing and performances 5 star !!!
Be very very careful about the “optional” dinner portion of this. In reality, it’s the first 90 minutes of the event. I had only booked with Viator once before. I didn’t pay good enough attention and got lumped into the full dinner with rides. When I talked to the venue about the mistake, they bounced me to Viator. Viator kicked me back to the venue. Long story short, got hosed. Do not recommend.
I recommend reading the reviews carefully. Maybe use various sources, including Redit. The 3 stars reviews are pretty reliable. We spent a lot of money in dollars for five people on New Year’s Eve. Here is the run down: They were late picking us up at the hotel. Of course they had had to pick up other tourists after. When we got to the location, Ventana, they made us wait yet another half hour. Then, without warning, they took us to another place, Michaelangelo. No reason, just to another location. When we complained, they tried to sell us snake oil by the less than capable and unfriendly staff. Because we had no choice at this point we agreed to be in the other venue, taking away the experience we hoped for. At 9:30 pm they sat us to eat, the show was at 10:00 pm in yet another location. Needless to say we had no time to eat before the show. They food was NOT was was in the menu. The service was bad needless to say. The waiters tried, it was not their fault. But it was bad. The show was great. This is why they get 3 stars. They get 0 stars for service, food and organization. A 100% Tourist trap. Try to really look for a quality show and have dinner separately. Read the reviews carefully. There is a pattern in the accounts given by customers. Take note. For us the end of a three-week trip in Argentina was this place unfortunately. At 3:00 am we were starving and felt so ripped off after paying the exuberant prices.
I'm so glad my friends and I did this show on our last night in Buenos Aires. The venue is intimate enough that no matter where you sit, you can see all the performances easily. Yet it's simultaneously large enough that the crowd easily feeds off the fun routines. It was more than just Tango dancing also, which was a wonderful surprise as we really enjoyed the mix of other cultural performances mixed in with great Tango dancing.
This show was fun and included singing, music, and dancing. The dancing was more varied than just tango, and the musicians looked like they were having a great time playing together. We did not do the dinner, and were instead sat in an upstairs area with a limited stage view which was disappointing. It may be worth doing dinner if you want better seats. Another show may also be better if you're looking for more artistic dancing/costumes - this was an entertaining variety show though.
What a wonderfully entertaining evening. My wife and I were visiting in Argentina and it was recommended that we see the show at La Ventana. The meal was fantastic and the musicians and dancing were all top-notch and full of energy. It was a wonderful evening in Buenos Aires!
My boss and I went to the dinner and show and both really enjoyed ourselves. The dinner was better than expected but we had low expectations. Go with their recommendations. The show was really entertaining, the music was good, and the tango was awesome! Get there at the start of the dinner time for better seats.
As a solo traveller the theatre was too far too travel and the only reason I did not attend the perform and lost my ticket money
We enjoyed the variety of the evening. The tango was fantastic but we also enjoyed the Andean band but the gaucho whirling the Bolas and dancing was amazing. Our waiter was very attentive.
Great show & great evening. Really nice atmosphere, we choose the ticket only and no dinner, you get a bottle of wine and bottle of still water. Staff are very nice and the artists are fantastic. Nice mix of everything. Highly recommend
The show was amazing, with extremely talented performers. We were spellbound the entire time. We liked that the show included some other types of Argentinian dance/performance as well as the tango.
The show was absolutely incredible! We had a fantastic time. Extremely varied, exciting, interesting show. It may be for tourists, but it is absolutely worth doing! We didn't do dinner, but our show only tix came with wine, water, and soda.
Avery fun and varied show! The Evita number was surprising and perfect. The venue was intimate and service was attentive. Definitely recommend!
On the meets expectations/enjoyment scale, a 4/5. We tried to figure out which theater to attend only to realize when we got to La Ventana that several of the shows are also in the same location. This made me wonder if we should have picked a shorter one because the show was a tiny bit boring. Also, I did not realize before the show that Tango, in Argentina, means dancing, singing, and history. That was a surprise (not unpleasant), I just though the show was a little long and repetitive. The food was good and we enjoyed the dinner/dessert. It is a little expensive but it’s probably also pretty costly to produce so it’s not a ripoff. I’m glad we went to the show.
It was one the most amazing shows I’ve ever seen. So passionate and beautiful. I am so happy we decided to attend , it is definitely an experience to live.
It was simply incredible! The musicians were so talented and passionate, the dancers were not only dancing but flying on the stage, it was outstanding!!! Friends recommended this particular show and we are so grateful we chose it. We highly recommend it.
Went on my first night in BA. Of course any tango show will be touristy but this one is set in a great building, the performers were good and the food and wine were actually excellent!
Fantastic...Fantastic...Fantastic!! Amazing show and delivery food. Great value all round and the staff are excellent too.
The meal was good, but not great. Service was slow and we did not get our entrees until after the show started. I would recommend dining elsewhere (if possible) and attending the show only. The show was outstanding and was not limited to just Tango singers and dancers. The folk dancing and music was as outstanding as the Tango troupe, but the real highlight for us was the Malambo portion of the folk dancing. It was a crowd favorite.
If I could rate this a 20 Star I would. First of all it was so easy to book this event through Trip Adviser. They picked us up at our hotel promptly and took to the La Ventana venue. There were no issues getting to our table. The service was first class as was the food. The show was about an hour and 45 minutes long, and was excellent. We loved every minute of it. Would highly recommend this first class entertainment.
FABULOUS entertainment!! Dinner fair. Worth seeing. The building is beautiful, a former convent. A variety of music and dance.
My wife and I decided on just to see the show. So no food or transfers. We felt the additional cost for the food was too high and our hotel wasn't far away. So, this review is based solely on the show. The show is very good and entertaining. In my opinion, it's a little bit repetitive. What I mean by that is the music from the main band and the tango. However, the show is broken up by other elements, which I thought were fantastic. The highlight for me was the chap with the rope. He was amazing!! The pan pipe player and his 2 friends were also very entertaining, and the lady singing Evita was very good. I know it's a tango show, but for me, less tango, less singing and less music, cutting the time of the show by 20-30 minutes and charging a bit less for it, and it would be perfect. Oh, and if you say no recording or photos, blooming well police that rule and tell the ignorant people who don't pay any attention to it, to stop!! They're ruining the show for everyone else. And please buy seats with more padding. My backside felt like it didn't belong to me at the end of the night. Goodness knows what it would've been like if we'd had dinner as well.
Food was OK, show really good but felt it was overpriced for what it was. The waiters descend near the end asking for tips in a folder then wait/check what you’ve given them. On arrival they offer you drinks that aren’t included in the price but tell you once ordered so awkward to say you’ve changed your mind. We enjoyed the show very much but food/service was like a conveyor belt.
My husband and I thought all of the performers and musicians were outstanding. The wait staff was very cordial and efficient. The steaks we had were large and flavorful, but about half of each was tough or gristly and basically inedible. However, we had more than enough to eat.
The Tango show was fabulous with the dancers and musicians. The food was good value. The head waiter Leon is a gem. This event is one of the best things we have done while traveling. If you are in Bueno Aires do go to this Tango Show. You will not be disappointed!
Good performance by talented artists, allows one to understand Argentina’s culture and history. Attentive staff at the venue takes good care of you. Food quality is like any other dinner theater. A good activity to do, keep dinner optional.
Nice theater at the center. First class performers. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was timely and wines are not bad. It was a little bit expensive but worth it. We did not have dinner at the venue.
We went on New Year's Eve and it was the best choice ever. Included transportation to and from hotel, dinner which includes wine and open bar, show, New Year's toast and DJ. Service was outstanding! It was a superb complete package, especially if you are looking where to go to welcome the New Year!
The show is excellent, wonderful venue, exquisite food with a 1st class Tango and folklore show. This show was highly recommended by Pablo Fiorilli from Tourism Services in Buenos Aires you can contact Pablo +5491165449991. If you go to BA don't forget to visit La Ventana Show!
A visit to Argentina is not complete without a tango show. La Ventana is located in San Telmo. Opted to include dinner which consisted of a 3 course meal and a bottle of wine (red or white). We chose the red - Malbec of course. Food was delicious. I had the caprese salad salad (often in all menus I’ve seen and this is due to the Italian influence here), the steak, which was perfectly cooked (Argentina is known for the steaks and they cook it well) and a bread pudding. I must say the latter was more like a flan but server insisted it was it was bread pudding. Ok lol The show was great! I like that they served dinner prior to the show. So you were able to give the entertainers your divided attention. I won’t give more away. You will enjoy it. La Ventana was one of 3 recommendations from my hotel concierge. After reading some reviews, I booked it via trip advisor. We enjoyed our evening.
Fun show. Dinner much better than expected. Pasta and pesto sauce homemade and delicious and husbands steak very good. Non stop wine. Said no pictures allowed but didn’t stop anyone
The Ventana Tango Show was highly recommended by multiple people, so we decided to try it out. Going into the show our main concerns were: 1) the starting time, as dinner kicks-off at 20:00, 2) the quality and diversity of the show, as we were travelling with two teens, and 3) the food, as often times these combo deals leave a lot to be desired. We are happy to report that we had an outstanding experience which was thoroughly enjoyed by all in the group (adults and teens alike). The venue is absolutely gorgeous and has been decorated in good taste. (Shout-out to Horacio who was kind enough to give us a tour of the various venues in the building and next door.) Both the food and the service were actually better than what we had at most Buenos Aires restaurants (e.g. Cabaña las Lilas, La carniceria, La Pescaderita). (Rather than sticking with the Malbec included in the page we upgraded to some Syrah which was very reasonably priced (about half of what we paid at Cabaña Las Lilas the night before)). The show had enough to keep the teens entertained till 23:30, and Lord knows teens are a tough crowd. It is a misnomer to call it a Tango show, as Northern Argentina music is also covered. A word of caution: If you are a hard-core tango fan, this is probably not your gig. However, if like most mortals you want an introduction that will provide a Broadway-like experience, you will not go wrong. We would do it again in a hard beat without hesitation.
A must see in Buenos Aires. It did not feel like a tourist trap. Food was good, especially the milanesa steak. The show was exceptional. It had everything you can imagine, not just tango. I would totally go back if I had more time.
The musicians and dancers were excellent, the singers cruise ship standard, the surprise was the food and service which were excellent, good portions well cooked
My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and the show. I was a little worried it would be a typical touristy show and maybe not very authentic, but we were very happily surprised by how professional and authentic the dancers and singers were. There was a lovely Argentinian feel to the whole experience, and we had a smile on our faces from start to end. The dinner was amazing and included everything, wine etc. All staff was attentive and professional. I will recommend this to anyone going to BA! It's not cheap but it's well worth the money, and I am happy to support tourism after the past 2 years. They are very professional and really put on a show that justified the money.
The food was excellent and the service was great. We were seated right by the stage and the venue is smaller so it makes it feel a bit more intimate. But as someone who has very little knowledge of tango, I felt the show itself was a little dated. The dancers were good but it wasn't very flashy or exciting, and there were a lot of lulls in the show filled by some singing. The floorboards squeaked over the music during some of the dances which took away from the experience a little bit. Overall it was a good experience.
Quite average. Food is good and people is nice, but the show in itself feels quite old and boring. It should be more dancing and less music, singing..
An interesting evening. Lots of entertainment. Some traditional tango, which I enjoyed, and some more modern dancing...worth a visit
