The show was incredible. The performers werw first-class. The dinner was very generous. I highly recommend this show to everyone visiting Buenos Aires.-

Step into El Querandí located in the heart of San Telmo, Buenos Aires’ oldest neighborhood and the birthplace of tango. Begin your evening with a 3-course dinner and beverages, featuring the finest cuts of Argentine beef and classic dishes. Then, settle in for the tango show, a journey through time that takes you from the streets of Buenos Aires in 1860 to the present day. The performance highlights the history of tango and the evolution of the city itself, brought to life by some of the best dancers in town. While the story unfolds, a live quartet, featuring bandoneón, piano, violin, and upright bass sets the rhythm. Two vocalists narrate the tale through song, weaving the culture and soul of Argentina. On stage, four passionate couples showcase their dramatic tango skills with unmatched elegance and intensity. Their precision and sensuality will leave you breathless. The night concludes around midnight, offering guests a truly unforgettable cultural experience in Buenos Aires.

The dancers are terrific. There is a live band accompanying them the whole time along with 2 male vocalists. The hour and half show flew by. I did not get the dinner just the appetizer and wine choice. There was only one other single person in the audience and we were put together. That was a highlight of the evening as well!
Brilliant dancers , dancing the story of the Tango from beginning to now. Music that was emotional and a strong support of the dancers.
Provided the necessary information. Tango show was great. It is a small gathering. Everyone gets a good view of the performance. Suggest to take the drop off but reach the location on your own as the pick up is very early (7 pm for a 9:30 pm show).
Excellent food, excellent Tango show. Everything about this viator experience is top-shelf - highly recommend.
Demonstration of the history of tango from its early origins to 1955. We arrived early and could order off the restaurant and bar menus. Some tables have obstructed view from pillars. Stage is setup by the street corner door, so a side entrance to the place is used instead.
The show was good but we were placed in the right hook on the left side. My partner didn't see some parts of the show because it was not visible for all angles like described. And the waiters bumped into me at least 10x with the plates, bringing them and bringing them back to the kitchen. And the cherry on the top, during the show I get a flash of the phone of one of the waiter in my face so we can pay the consumptions instead of doing this at the end so we can fully enjoy the show we paid for. Please next time, my advice would be at the end so the guests are not bothered and not bump into the guests constantly so they fully can enjoy.
Instead of booking through an agency I booked the show with transport and dinner directly with the venue so was hoping this might in some way get my wife and I decent seats. Unfortunately the two of us were placed opposite each other on a row of tables with myself having a pillar right in front of me obscuring my view of the stage. The dinner itself was actually quite nice but, because it was busy, it was a struggle getting a drink refill. Wine drinkers were okay as they got a bottle on the table but I drink beer which came in a can and only managed to have 2 all night! Once dinner was finished the show started and it was here you realised how crammed in everyone was as you fought for chair space with those seated on the table behind you. As for the show itself, it was quite enjoyable, though, as mentioned in other reviews, it would have been better with more dancing and less singing. If I visit Buenos Aires again I'd look elsewhere
The dancing was good, showing the development of tango over the years. The musicians were great too. However, there was too much singing and not enough dancing for us. The female singer was ok, but the older gentleman wasn't great and it spoilt the flow for us. The food was extremely good though and the wine was free flowing, so a good night out.
The show was excellent and part of the Tango story was wonderful. The dinner was very good, and the transportation too. Everyone was very polite. 😉
Dancing was really amazing - and the orchestra was very talented. My husband’s steak was very good - my grilled fish was not so good. Not sure the meal was good value, but the overall experience was superb.
Great night at this establishment. The dancers and musicians were top-notch. The energy level was off the charts. Totally enjoyed and highly recommend this tango experience.
Overall, amazing experience. The tango show was unique, well performed, and very easy to follow for a non-Spanish speaker. They go through the history of tango and so they dance each era of the tango. The costumes were great, the singers were amazing, the dancers were incredibly talented, and the musicians were insanely good. Overall a great experience. I will just make a note that the drinks were expensive but we were expecting that going in.
My partner and I booked this show expecting to be amazed but unfortunately we left feeling a little underwhelmed. The pairs dancing was very impressive but the group dancing felt like too much for a small stage. The performance also seemed to be focused towards one particular direction which was possibly the most expensive VIP area. Unless you were right near the stage itself you were mostly unable to see the dancers footwork. This is because the majority of people are seated in a long room that extends away from the stage and everyone's heads were roughly at the height of the stage itself, obscuing your view of the dancers footwork if you are seated more than a couple of rows away from the stage. Finally, what felt like 50% of the show is actually singing and musical performance instead of dancing. Most disappointing, but perhaps most easily fixed, was the way the waiters moved around during the show performing needless tasks such as clearing unused cutlery from tables. This kept blocking peoples view of the performance. They also decided to come around mid performance to explain that tips were not included in the online price and provided each table with a wallet for additional tips. At this point you've disturbed me mid show, all whilst obscuring my view of the ongoing performance, so have therefore given me a very good reason not to leave a tip. If someone asked me if I'd recommend attending this show, I'd be unable to say yes.
Nice to know we could go to the show by taking a rideshare from the port after having dinner on the ship.
On Feb. 1-st 2026 I was attending tango show at El Querandi. Without a prior written notice, a staff member requested me to stop videorecording the show. My explanation of exclusively private use of the footage was neglected. This was my 3-rd tango show in Buenos and first time I was asked to stop doing what is not officially and beforehand forbidden. I find the episode unfair and unpleasant, therefore request a written explanation from the Management and payment proof of amount equivalent to adult ticket paid by El Querendi to a selected charity organization in Buenos Aires. Do they still have a Tripadvisor Excellence Plate as displayed? Stop rudeness and whims! BTW, show: excellent, food: below average.
Incredible NYE show, dinner and after party! The meal was exceptional as was the tango show! I would highly recommend to family and friends.
The show was great. We didn’t do the dinner, just the show. I only have two complaints - (1) the sound system was cranked up way too much, which was totally unnecessary and took away from the beautiful music and singing (loud volume is often used to mask bad performances, but they don’t need to mask anything since the music and singing was great), and (2) the view from many of the seats was partially blocked and you can’t see the full stage - this was unfortunate because I was in one of the seats and I really wanted to see the whole stage. But overall, I would definitely recommend. Took my 17 and 21 year olds and they also enjoyed.
Booked this place in August and showed up ahead of time for seating Best seats taken up by folks who paid for dinner and show ( that excluded us ). Shown a table furthest away from stage by an impervious attendant who finally found us better seats after being firm about our poor seating arrangements The venuse is all about crass commercialism —long row tables at same level packing in as many people as possible The dancers were fabulous but were denied to create an intimate, passionate expression of their art by an abysmal environment We have been to another tango show in Buenos AAires which was far superior in content and atmosphere compared to this place I respectfully suggest giving this place an emphatic wide miss!!
This dinner and show with transportation is well worth it! Very nice dinner. The musicians and dancers are very good! Fantastic! Highly recommend.
This show was excellent, the venue was very good and the food exceeded my expectations. The pick up and drop off was on time. The whole evening was well organised and good value
Great experience, told the history of the Tango. The band was excellent and so were the performers. Would recommend
We took only show without transfers. All went smoothly. We have even had an emergency and had to move our date and there was really warm and fast response and no problems at all. Show is great! Dancers are so close. All seats are good with great view on stage. Recommend!
A fun evening. Great 3-course empanadas, steak, bread, cooked vegetables, dessert, bottled water and wine. Good for Americans to realize that other tourists are more likely to be from Brazil or the UK than the US. Engage in a friendly conversation as much as possible. Having Google say “Good Night” in Portuguese for our Brazilian bus mates got a warm reception. Friendly driver for hotel pick up and drop off. Our hotel front desk checked our 8:00 pm departure time and noted that an 8-8:30 timeframe was in order. That was nice to know we hadn’t been skipped.
Prompt pick-up from hotel. Attentive staff from arrival to departure at theatre. Food was amazing authentic Argentinian choices Unlimited drinks available in our package History of tango music and dancers brought Tango to life Intimate venue and atmospheric surroundings Overall superb experience
Excellent tango show. Demonstrates the development of tango from early days to today. I saw a different show when I was in Buenos Aires before (about 20 years ago) and this one was way better. We had a mix up on being picked up - not sure if was fault of the hotel concierge or the venue, but got us to the venue later than expected, seats we're a little further back and service and food were not good at all. Food was barely edible. Would give the show itself a five star review. Posting a couple of photos but all my photos of the dancing were videos so not trying to post those.
An authentic and intimate tango experience in a beautifully restored 1920s venue. The dinner was tasty (especially the steak and flan), and the service was smooth and attentive. The show itself was outstanding—live music, passionate dancers, and a thoughtful journey through tango history. Less flashy than some other shows, but deeply cultural and emotional. Highly recommended if you want the real tango spirit in Buenos
Amazing show, they explained the history and evolution of Tango in three distinct phases. The singers and dancers as well as the orchestra was very talented. Also the complementary dessert served (I opted for the famous Dulce the leche) was delicious.
An all round great evening! The staff were fabulous, the food amazing and great show. Originally they mixed my name up with someone who hadn't booked for dinner.. once I pointed out the incorrect first name there were heartfelt apologies and a complimentary glass of bubbles. The food was amazing ... The best steak ever, so flavour some. The show was great. I would recommend take the whole package!
Tango show that took you through the history of Tango from its origins. singers, dancers and musicians all combined for a fantastic experience. Would recommend
Short drive after being picked up at our hotel. We ordered dinner which was very good considering this was a tour. Quality and service could not be faulted. Then, the show! These dancers were just amazing and really gave us a taste of tango through several decades. They did an excellent job and it must not be missed if visiting Buenos Aires!
The dancing and the show are excellent. The food is mediocre at best. My wife and I both ordered the fish, and when it came, it was obvious that the fish had been cooked earlier and had been sitting in a warming pan for quite a while. If I were to do this again, I’d purchase tickets for the show only and have dinner somewhere else.
Great show! Had desserts and a bottle of wine while watching the show! Great music and dance moves. Enjoyed the show!
It was fine. As described. Decent food, a decent but not outstanding show, and the pick up logistics worked well
We just booked the show option and no dinner. A few things for folks: 1. The stage is quite awkward, large sections of the seating area only see one part, so you don’t get to see all the dancers. 2. The premium seats are all taken by folks who have dinner option. You get tucked into a corner if you just have the show. 3. The service quality is so so. 4. Performance theme is good - tango over the decades but the quality of the performance and dancers was quite so so. It could be just our experience but for a bit more - we really enjoyed the Almacen abd Cafe De Los Angelitos - these two were far superior in all aspects
A fantastic show.. world class tango and great food. Staff were amazing ( apart from unfriendly girl on the door) unlimited good wine… loved it
Enjoyed the show, food was great. The artists present a variety of well choreographed dances, orchestra and singers are very talented. Don’t miss this world”s best Tango show.
Dinner was delicious (3 courses), bottle of wine is included as well as beer, coffee, soft drinks. Service was great. We met new people sitting next to us at dinner. The music and tango was absolutely spectacular. Good combination of singing and dancing and beautiful instrumentals. It was an amazing night. And they will pick you up and drop you at your hotel. I liked that the venue wasn’t huge so it felt very intimate.
Disappointed in the amount of tango dancing. 75 mins show but half of this was singing & just music. The dancing was excellent - just needed to be more of it
This is something you have to experience if in Buenos Aires. The show was great, the dancers, the singers and the musicians were amazing. Negatives for me: 1. apparently, my hotel was out of the pickup zones (I was staying in Palermo) and had to get a taxi to the pick-up point. 2. Travelling solo I was put in the "singles table" which was at the back of the room. 3. I felt like this was targeted at a different demographic than mine, the majority of people were in the older age bracket but not a biggie. 4. The people who picked me up weren't the friendliest, they spoke amongst each other the whole time in spanish and didn't consider any of us for the whole journey. Overall, it was a very enjoyable show but very touristic and the organisation could be improved.
Place is cozy, service amazing, food was excellent, plenty of choices for every palate, tango show was spectacular. We booked this place for my group of 22, got in touch with Sofia through WhatsApp and she took care of everything. Cudos to El Querandi
The show was nice, transport service was great, dinner could have been better. For that money you can eat far better in the local traditional restaurants.
What a great show. So energetic with very talented dancers and a varied show. It is worth eating there as the food was good and there is a choice. Excellent wine as well.
Amazing food , lots of choices for each course. The staff and service were outstanding he dancers were fabulous and it was a truly great evening. There are no bad seats in this venue
The tango show but it was not long enough for us! If you have added 1/2 an hour more then it would be perfect.
I was a little sceptical that the full package of: pickup and return to my hotel; 3 course dinner; and the actual show, would be only average. Pick-up and return absolutely fine. With it being mass catering, I thought the dinner would be only adequate, so pleasantly surprised was a small but well varied menu and of above average quality and (with the package I bought) unlimited wine. The show itself is very well put together, with fantastic musicians, very good dancers and singers, with one singer being one of the best male baritones I have heard in a long time. With one song in particular he was pitch perfect, very clear enunciation so that even with my poor Spanish I understood most of the song, especially the underlying emotion of it. He could have gone "full drama" with it but kept it restrained allowing his voice and the words to convey the meaning. By the use of the songs and dances, with well selected projections and costumes, of the various times portrayed, the show gave a very concise and enjoyable history of the Argentine tango Very, very enjoyable and well worth the money.
This was not what I expected for a tango show. The food was just OK. I didn’t get my third course and only got one drink. The views are obstructed by support beams. The singing and dancing was more like community theatre. I talked to others who went to different shows and they had a better experience. I feel like the show was trying to do the history of tango through costume and dance but it didn’t translate well.
We had a great time! We are a party of 12, of adults and teenagers. The food was decent but this show isn’t about the food. (And the wine was plentiful if that matters to you.) It’s about the whole experience and the show was great! The dancers and singers were very entertaining. The show doesn’t start until late (around 10:15/10:30 pm) so prepare yourself for that. It’s a great activity for someone looking to experience tango in Argentina.
Good food. Good show but started 30 minutes late. We had finished eating 90 minutes before the show started. Excellent transfers from hotel & back
Overall, great value with: transport to and from the venue from my hotel, good dinner although service felt a little rushed at time. Show itself very well thought out giving the history of tango, with era appropriate music, costumes and video display. Great dancers, musicians and singers, especially the baritone who, for me, had one of the best voices I have heard in a long time - pitch perfect and wonderful emotion without overdoing it, which would be easy to slip into and go for "big dramatic" singing and gestures.
