Mariano and Vivir Beunos Aires Tours did an amazing job customizing our day. They asked questions before the tour to understand what we expected and wanted to do so they could tailor the day, and then the guide (Mariano) was flexible on the day to adjust if necessary. With a private tour, you go at your pace and not a group's, which was terrific and allowed us to see more even though we took our time in some spots. Mariano is interesting, knowledgeable, adaptable, and a great guy! You can't go wrong with this tour!!

Great experience and guide. Saw more in one day than could be expected.
This is the one! We were so blessed to have Mariano as our guide. Strong, moral young man who KNOWS Argentina…the day was wonderful…best tour we’ve had in years.
We had a wonderful city tour of Buenos Aires! It was a fantastic way to experience the highlights of this beautiful and vibrant city, from the historic neighborhoods and colorful streets to the impressive architecture and famous landmarks. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the history and culture of Buenos Aires come alive. We learned so much while enjoying every stop along the way. It was a great introduction to the city and a memorable part of our trip to Argentina. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Buenos Aires!
Excellent experience! Mariano is an amazing guide! Besides being very professional and knowledgeable of the history of Argetina, he is an incredibly nice guy. He communicated with us before the tour to ask us questions and personalize our visit. And even after our tour ended, he followed up on our trip. Great guy!
If you want more than a sightseeing tour and truly want to understand Buenos Aires, Mariano is the guide to book. From Plaza de Mayo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Casa Rosada, the Obelisk, and José de San Martín’s Mausoleum to the elegant Confitería Ideal for coffee and a croissant, every stop was thoughtfully paced and filled with fascinating history. I especially loved learning about the building where the author of The Little Prince once lived—something I would have completely missed on my own. Mariano also shared the story of how Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who once walked these very streets as Archbishop of Buenos Aires, would later become Pope Francis, making the city’s history feel deeply personal. As we drove through the city, Mariano explained how Buenos Aires reclaimed land from the Río de la Plata, creating vibrant modern neighborhoods while preserving its remarkable history. In La Boca and Caminito, Mariano brought the immigrant history of the neighborhood to life through stories that made it feel like stepping back in time. San Telmo offered another perspective of the city, where we enjoyed delicious empanadas, a refreshing mint-ginger lemonade, and explored the famous market filled with antiques, local art, and culture. Our final stop at Recoleta Cemetery was unforgettable. Mariano’s moving story about Eva Perón reminded me that “life doesn’t have to be long—it has to be large.” The true measure of a life isn’t the number of years we live, but the positive impact we leave on others. Mariano is incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and patient. He never rushes you, encourages questions, and tells stories that make Buenos Aires come alive. By the end of the day, I didn’t just visit Buenos Aires—I felt like I understood its soul. Thank you, Mariano, not only for sharing your incredible knowledge, but also for introducing me to everyday life in Buenos Aires—including my very first ride on the city’s subway! Experiences like that made me feel less like a tourist and more like a local. If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. 🇦🇷❤️
I booked this tour for my mother. During the booking process, communication was very smooth, and there was a lot of flexibility with the arrangements. Mariano took excellent care of my mother. He showed her around different parts of the city and even took her to try some local snacks. At the end, he also took her to the airport, helped her check in, and assisted her at the counter with a few issues. Thank you so much, Mariano.
We visited the best of Buenos Aires with Mariano as our tour guide. Mariano is friendly, helpful and very passionate about his work. He showed us the best sights at Buenos Aires in a day. We enjoyed our tour thoroughly. My husband twisted his ankle and we had to reschedule our tour, which he readily agreed. He kept in touch with us and offered help. It was very nice of him, We felt at home in a place far away from home. I highly recommend this tour with Mariano

Mariano was our guide for the Discover the Best of Buenos Aires on a Full-Day Private Tour. He is an amazing, personable young man and his passion for his home city was contagious. Our day exploring this beautiful city with him was one of our best days ever. My traveling companion has difficulty walking long distances and he made sure he got us close to every sight so that we had minimal walking distance with still getting the full advantage of exploring everything. He even took us to the port at the end of the day to board or ship and made sure we got through the check-in, since we were almost the only ones there checking in late in the day. I want to mention Irina, too. She stayed in close contact with us from the day we booked until Mariano picked us up at our hotel. They make a great team! You have many choices for private tour guides - I highly recommend Mariano!
We spent a delightful day with our wonderful tour guide, Mariano! We visited the major squares in the city including near the Metropolitan Cathedral. Mariano has exceptional expertise in the various architectural styles in Buenos Aires, and we enjoyed learning about that! We visited the San Telmo neighborhood and then headed to Caminito to learn how the Italian and Spanish immigrants populated this colorful and vibrant community. After a delicious lunch in a local restaurant, we visited El Ateneo, a bookstore that was directly next door. This bookstore is located in a former beautiful theater that has been cleverly restored. Best of all, Mariano was just such a fun person and kept us enthralled with his many interesting stories of life in Buenos Aires. We hope to return in the future and will definitely meet up with Mariano again! Well done!
Excellent tour and a wonderful tour guide. Marianas was very knowledgeable with very easy to understand English. He gave us a very personalized tour and is a genuinely friendly young man. Our favorite guide of the 11 tours we have taken in the last 1-1/2 weeks.
We had never been to Buenos Aires, and only had a short time to explore before our cruise. We had booked this tour a few weeks earlier, and Mariano was in touch from time to time to make sure everything was going to be as we desired. He had some standard sites for us to see, but assured us that we could make any changes or visit any other places that we wanted that day. It was to be our tour, on our schedule, no rush. He is an engaging young man who loves his hometown. We learned a lot about the history and geography of the city. He had so many stories to share. Thank you for the interesting day.
Wow what a fabulous trip all personally designed around whichever sights you would like to see. Mariano is awesome as a tour guide and incredibly knowledgeable. We learnt so much about the history and culture of the country truly awesome. What a lovely man. Highly recommend this trip from someone who books all my activities through their reviews. Fabulous day.
Mariano is the absolute best tour guide. He knows the perfect route to see the city while seeing all of its attractions in the area. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous. This is the second time that I have used him. He can also help you with arrangements for airport transfers and other tours. He will do everything in his power to help make your time Buenos Aires unforgettable!
This was a great private tour of Buenos Aires. Mariano was an excellent guide. He took us to the main sights of the city and was extremely knowledgeable in the history and significance of everything. He helped us order at lunch and was so personable and easy to talk with. Mariano treated us to some alfajores and matte. We never would have seen this much in one day or learned so much without him!
This was a superb tour, which managed to exceed my originally high expectations. My guide, Mariano, was perfectly suited for this tour. He was extremely knowledgeable, pleasant company and of course, professional. Everything was specially tailored to my interests, plus much more. The highlights included visits to the Metropolitan Cathedral(where Pope Francis as Jorge Bergoglio, had been Archbishop of Buenos Aires), an outside walk around Casa Rosada(of Eva Peron fame), an explanation of the different architectural styles in the surrounding Plaza de Mayo, and Argentina’s history still very present there. We visited the elegant Recoleta, and entered the truly magnificent Recoleta Cemetery, which was magical and awe-inspiring. What stories are alive and buried, here! Lunch was also had in Recoleta. This of course included legendary Argentina steak. As a passionate football fan, the visit to La Boca was like a pilgrimage. It was a joy to see the explosion of colour(amazing street art - murals and graffiti) and activity around the iconic La Bombonera stadium, home of Boca Juniors. There was the great presence of Diego Maradona, accompanied by other luminaries such as Evita and Pope Francis. Strolling down the Caminito was a joy. Authentic Tango was joyfully experienced. I found the entire day highly inspirational, and have been motivated to return to Buenos Aires next year. I highly recommend this tour(which is tailored to any personal interests). When Mariano dropped me back at my hotel, from where he had picked me up in the morning, I felt an abiding sense of gratitude and joy, for a beautifully memorable day in my life.
Mariano has excellent local knowledge and history, full of energy, a good communicator, took us to all the must see sights, answered all of our questions, we learnt so much. Mariano drove us around the city and save us a lot of time, enabling us to fit in as many of the sights as possible. He took us to a money changer with good exchange rates at our request. Even before we arrived at BA, again at our request, he advised us on how to plan for a trip to Iguazu Falls ( which we followed, and saved us money) . Thank you so much, Mariano. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a first-class private tour of BA❤️
It was such a pleasure working with Mariano. From arranging the tour, personalizing the tour and taking the tour with him, everything was seamless. He was gracious, very accommodating, extremely knowledgeable and excited to share the history of his home town. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. We would highly recommend Mariano for any tours of the beautiful city of Buenos Aires. He will make your visit memorable.
It was a pleasure to spend the day with Mariano exploring the wonderful city of Buenos Aires. Mariano is passionate about sharing his very impressive knowledge of his home city. Also a shout out to Irina for her excellent communication both before and after our tour. This approach helps ensure the tour is tailored exactly to requirements. Thanks!
Mariano gave us a full 8 hrs tour and we experienced much of the areas around the city to see and enjoy it all! So much information so we learned a lot.
Mariano was absolutely amazing providing so much information about the history of Buenos Aires taking us to many places. He picked us up from our hotel, and we visited the biggest sites of the city to see. He said it was our tour and that we could choose what we wanted to see but we left it up to him. He also took us to a restaurant where locals eat to eat authentic tortilla and milanesa. We were very appreciative of the knowledge he passed on to us! Thank you, Mariano!!!
Mariano was excellent! He provided an in depth history of Buenos Aires and took us to many locations throughout the city. He used a tablet to provide visuals for the sights and history he was describing. We have done many of these private tours throughout our travels and highly recommend them! Mariano was wonderful and we highly recommend him! He showed a love for Buenos Aires which clearly came across during our time with him! He even provided us with some recommendations on what we might be able to see and where we might be an able to eat in the day we had left.
Great tour! The company contacted me before leaving home and again once I was close for our tour. Mariano was a great tour guide. We saw so much of Argentina. We highly recommend this tour!!
Our tour guide, Mariano, picked us up at our hotel, took us to 4 areas of Buenos Aires …. First was the Plaza de Mayo. We tour the Plaza while looking at the various architecture of the buildings and specially the Casa Rosada. The tour is pretty flexible, and we added a stop for Coffee/Tea. Next we went to Caminito, saw where and how the immigrants lived 100+ years ago. Next we went to San Telmo and had time for lunch and then to the San Telmo market. Last stop was to the Recoleta Cemetery, with lots of history about some people from Argentina buried there. We asked to stop by Floralis Generica, on the way back to our hotel.
Wanted a one day guided private tour of Buenos Aires. Glad reviews on line led us to this one. Our tour guide Mariano fantastic. Punctual, knowledgeable, courteous, caring, and led us through BA with skill.
Marino was excellent, very attentive to detail, comfort and safety. Excellent knowledge of all the sites and history. Really exemplifies hospitality and takes his profession seriously. One member of our group requested moderate walking and speed, which he accomplished very well. He has a small SUV which can be a little snug for larger adults but not a huge issue.
It was our second time in Buenos Aires and we realized that we only visited a fraction of the beautiful neighborhoods on the first visit. Our guide was fantastic and we always felt very safe, even with all our luggage in the suv, as he parked in private parking lots. We had the best empanadas for lunch. A real must do!
Mariano takes pride in his business. Planning and communication are excellent. The tour covers multiple areas of a very large city to give a true sense of the architecture, political history, culture, economics, and true character. He truly cared about our comfort (especially my pesky blister). And raced back into the hotel with my husband‘s phone… truly saving the day! We highly recommend his full day private tour.
Buenos Aires is a major city and being able to experience it in ~6 hours is incredible. Our guide (Mariano) is so knowledgeable about the city and highlights. If you’ll be in BA for more than one day, take this tour first so you know where to concentrate your time later.
Great day in Buenos Aires. On a private excursion we were able to see what we wanted and also let our guide show us the best parts of the city. I would highly recommend Mariano for his knowledge and personality.
Excellent tour! Very well organized destinations and timing for each was perfect. I traveled with my boyfriend and we were able to see so much in only one day. Mariano was very informative on history, took us to local spots, and came prepared with sunscreen/waters to prepare for the hot day. It was very easy to coordinate and plan desired locations in advance. The tour was extremely well planned and the hosts communicated very clearly. Mariano also provided us with sights/a walking guide for sights to see in the city, even after our tour ended. Highly recommend and very well prepared.
Our guide, Mariano, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He was also flexible due to some scheduling issues we had. Kudos to him and his company.
Mariano was on time when he picked us up from our hotel. We received reminders, eg the night B4, & that morning. He was full of information about Buenos Aires history & architecture. Mariano planned our route to build on what we just learned. He was super considerate to ensure we walked at a reasonable pace and stayed in the shade when possible. He ensured we had a wonderful lunch that fully complied with our food allergies. He answered all our questions, gave us ideas for further tours, sites, & restaurants. He is one of the best tour guides we’ve had the joy to know.
Knowledgeable, articulate, and accommodating guide. He showed us what the real Buenos Ares and Argentine history were all about. He knew everything from history to neighborhoods.
Mariano was an excellent and friendly guide for our excursion. He is knowledge and compassionate, and very passionate about showing us Bueno Aires. I would highly recommend him.
It is an honor to meet and befriend Mariano, and be brought around the city he loves and grew up in! Mariano is truly a kind, sincere and wise soul! I’m humbled by Mariano’s gentle nature and his perspective towards the world. Muchos Muchos Gracias, Mariano!😇♥️ Take care and may our paths cross again one day!😇♥️
We had the best day with Mariano. He is knowledgeable, interesting and accommodating. He demonstrates his love for his job and city in the pride he takes showing guests the various neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. He even surprised us the next morning with a mapped walking itinerary we could take before our flight. I can’t recommend him highly enough!
Great tour. Mariano was very knowledgeable and took us to both the popular attractions and also some less popular neighborhoods. Learned a lot about real life in Buenos Aries
One of the best tours ever. Our guide Mariano was fantastic. Knowledgeable, professional & charming. Demonstrates his obvious love of his city. Organized our day perfectly & was extremely responsive to our requests and sensitive to our mobility issues. I would highly recommend Mariano and this private tour.
Mariano speaks very good English. He asked for input before the tour and tailored an itinerary based on our interests. He has a great command of history and economics, and was able to give high quality responses to a variety of technical questions on history, politics, economics, culture. His command and depth of understanding on a very broad array of topics of interest is deep. He was very helpful as a resource for planning meals and additional sights we could visit subsequent to the tour. There was a good balance between riding and walking as well as historical, political, and cultural points of interest. We would book another personal tour with Mariano and would highly recommend him as an expert tour guide.
We only had one full day in Buenos Aires and wanted to make the most of our time. This tour was perfect because Mariano customized the day to see all the highlights. It was a wonderful tour and he chose spots that really told a story about the city including interesting history, architecture and cultural moments that give you a good sense of how the city came to be such a vibrant and lovely place. I highly recommend this tour. Mariano was extremely knowledgeable. He Takes the time to answer all questions thoughtfully and you can tell he is very passionate about making the tour a great experience.

We had a fantastic private tour of Buenos Aires with Mariano. He is an excellent guide and passionate to share his knowledge of the history and stories of Buenos Aires and Argentina in general. I highly recommend this experience with Mariano, he is a kind and considerate person and very knowledgeable. You can’t ask for a better person to show you around Buenos Aires.
On my second day in Buenos Aires, I joined a solo tour with Mariano. I trusted him to show me the must-see sights, and he delivered. He was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, answering every question with enthusiasm and bringing the rich history of Buenos Aires to life. The city is beautiful, and Mariano is the perfect local guide to offer a close, meaningful experience. What stood out most was how he balanced iconic landmarks with engaging stories that gave each place character. He explained the layers of the city’s architecture and the influences of different eras in a way that clicked, even for a first-time visitor. He was more than happy to adjust stops so the day felt relaxed rather than rushed, and he was always happy to tailor the route to my interests. I especially appreciated his thoughtful anecdotes about the neighborhoods’ origins and the daily rhythms of life today. His practical tips for navigating Buenos Aires best times to visit sites, how to pick the best empanada, how to ride the subway, were invaluable. He even suggested offbeat corners that aren’t on the usual tourist path. If you’re traveling solo, or even with a small group and want a guide who makes you feel like a friend showing you around, Mariano is a standout. I left with a deeper appreciation for Buenos Aires and a handful of local recommendations I will most definitely rely on. Highly recommended!
I had an amazing experience exploring Buenos Aires with our guide Mariano. A great way to discover Buenos Aires. The tour was tailored-made, we went through the town with the car but also with the metro. Mariano is a great guide, not only full of energy but full of knowledge. He likes his country, his town and likes to share. A great tour
Mariano was fabulous tour guide, incredibly informative, sharing fascinating insights into the history of Buenos Aires, the amazing culture, and other fascinating titbits that only a true local would know. (We walked through laneways/arcades that only a local would know and ate the best empanada ever!! so Mariano said:) His communication style was great, and Mariano adjusted the itinerary to suit my needs, given I was delayed by two days, through no fault of my own. more impressive was his flexibility. Whether you're a first-time visitor or returning to Buenos Aires, I can't recommend him highly enough. Mariano will tailor to your needs, and better still, he picks you up from your hotel or central location. He turned a great trip into an unforgettable experience.
