Great Experience. Our tour guide was very informative, friendly and funny at times. I would recommend Teatro Colón tours to friends and family.

The theater tour was very good, complete and a good experience. I was so glad to be able hear a rehearsal.
Great experience with an amazing guide But much cheaper to book directly on the Teatro website A must visit when in BA
Very interesting tour and a fascinating history and monument! Too bad there were no performances scheduled during our visit! The architecture was absolutely stunning
Beautiful theater ! A must see when visiting Buenos Aires!!! Loved the views and the staff were lovely. Definitely make sure you have a reservation.
Beautiful views and rich history. Perfect way to spend the afternoon and highly recommend if you’re in Bs As!
Beautiful theater. A must see. Make sure to take lots of pictures to make all of your friends and family jealous.
A short but delightful tour of this magnificent building with an English speaking guide was very good. An interesting tour and some lovely photo opportunities. Well recommended for a visit
Tour started well. Tour guide was pleasant and informative. Tour covers 4 rooms. First 3 were ok. But for the last room - the most important one, the opera hall itself, we enter the opera box and find . . . darkness! A crew is working in the hall. There is some minimal light on the stage. But everything that visitors come to see - the ceiling, the chandelier, the boxes on various levels - cannot be seen. The tour group spends the next ten minutes in darkness. The guide told us that we might not see the opera hall under ideal conditions, including that people might be working in the hall. If darkness was a possibility, we should have been informed before we wasted money on purchasing tickets. If you want the same tour experience we had, do this: go into a room in your home at night. Close the drapes. Turn off the lights and shut the door. Sit in the darkness for ten minutes. And you can do this for free! Tour was a total ripoff. I want my money back!!!
The tickets I bought from you were not accepted at the theater therefore I had to buy them again I want the money back.
It’s a must do stop - the guides are incredible and tell the story of the theatre in a very engaging way. For our time we had people from literally all over the world and the experience was incredible - seeing the history and the present is fascinating. It’s worth every penny. Thank you!
Great tour showing the most important areas and auditorium where you may see a rehearsal in progress.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable of the theater and was able to broadcast her voice loud enough, so everyone could hear that was greatly appreciated.
We were unable to get in to the tour because of miscommunication about the tickets. We were told they would arrive via email but instead were on What's App and we didn't find them until hours after the tour.
The Teatro Colón is a magnificent theater, that is certainly worth coming to tour or enjoy a show. It was a very fun and interesting experience to learn about the theater
Excellent tour inside the ornate theater along with a very informative history from our guide. We were fortunate that the dancers from the upcoming evening performance of Swan Lake were practicing and we were allowed to watch for several minutes. Very nice!
We were very disappointed…. Why??? Because on the day of the tour it was canceled by the operator!!!
As said the validación of tickets can be complicated it should be improved do not know if de singers fsult or problems in transmisión over cell phones but should be looked at
An anticipated highlight of our trip to Buenos Aires was a tour of the world reknown opera house Teatro Colon. It certainly did not disappoint. A beautiful structure inside and out, it dazzled with statuary, frescos and chandeliers. The guide provided interesting historical data and tales of those that attended. Having had a career in theatrical design I regretted not being able to see or tour the stage house. We had hoped to be able to visit the Colon Fabrica to see exhibits of set pieces, props and costumes but unfortunately they are closed M-T-W.
Beautiful theater and guide was very good. Would have been nice to get a glimpse back stage and the orchestra pit.
Great tour, worthwhile doing although you can also rock up there and buy tickets on the spot which are a lot cheaper than booked via Viator
Excellent but crowded. Our guide was very knowledgeable. The theatre is amazing and a must see. Strongly recommended.
It’s a really interesting tour and amazing building. Tge guide was good but it’s a big group and felt pretty impersonal
Great tour and tour guide with lots of information. Amazing to sit in the auditorium and hear the brilliant acoustics.
Bought tickets for 11am tour in English. Received three emails from Viator confirming tour at 11am. Actual tickets delivered on the day were for 2pm, when we were due to be on another tour. Useless experience with Viator, will not use again.
Very happy we did this tour. The place is fabulous and hopefully we can attend a show in the future. Our Gide was a little soft spoken and it was sometimes hard to hear.
Spectacular building and story behind it. Tour guide was very informative and kept a good pace .only 1 hour, a must see while in BA.
It is okay tour. However people can easily get mort info on line. But Viator really over charged the tickets. People please not get on line to purchase this tour tickets by Viator, but get the ticket on the site. Viator made $15-18 out of the tickets which only sell $30 on the theater site.
The worst one. They are not on top of things. Mr Lautaro, their contact in BA, never followed up to ensure we received the tickets. The result? We did not get the tickets on time, so we couldn't go on the tour, and we lost $100. Even when aviator people sounded so lovely over the phone.....They prioritize their 3erd party in BA instead of their customers: we. Not even offering us another day to do the tour....... SAD......
VIATOR - December 26, 2025 Confirmation number: 1693037111 Buenos Aires Teatro Colon Guided Tour Very well and schedulef and organised tour, very friendly and professional staff / guide at a wonderful Opera House. Go and visit it. Herbert
The main auditorium was dark the day we went because they we setting up for a performance. They didn't ask if that was acceptable until we were there ready to start the tour having arranged transportation to the venue and planned the day around it etc. When we went in we couldn't really see the main attraction because it was too dark. I think we ahould have been given advance notice. The guide was pleasant. Venue is pretty but fell short of expectations.
There ware 60 people in the group far too many. No lighting in main theatre so didn’t see it! Paid for English tour but was also translator there for French group
The day before the tour the Travel agency cancelled the tour claiming that there are protests in the area. They also stated that we will receive a refund within 72 hrs. We went to the specific site of the tour (Teatro Cologne) and saw many tours proceeding as normal. We asked if they had protests in the area. They said all tours were proceeding as normal and no such event happened. We never received the refund in 72 hrs and had to contact Viator to claim the refund. Viatior needs to monitor the activities of such agencies as they appear to cancel tours and never issue refunds.
Do not book with this agent. The day before we got a notification that the theatre had cancelled all visits due to a protest. This was not true, the agent just hadn't been able to source tickets on the English tour. They offered Spanish instead (which would have also been cancelled!) our concierge checked directly with theatre and all tours going. Fraudsters and now we miss out whereas if we had booked direct would have been fine
this is effectively a resale that charge you double the actual price of the tickets. No need to buy them through Viator. No need to buy them through Viator
The time was changed, and the tickets were never received, the PDF that was emailed did not open, The box office of Teatro Colon advised me that it was most likely fraud.
You have to write a review with Viator unless you disable that option after booking and before taking your tri.
The theater is majestic I love it Huge and beautiful The guide very knowledgeable and friendly Very European style
You can visit the Colon theater and know its history and see its art with an expert guide and expend great moments.
It is a nice and quick way to see the theater if you don't have a chance to see an opera or ballet there (most tickets are held by members and the rest sold out very fast around February for the entire season). The guide will tell you about the history of the theater, its architecture, construction and acoustics, and you get to sit in one of the boxes for a while to take it all in.
Our guide was lovely and showed us many interesting things but, The guide spoke way too softly and it was extremely difficult hear.
One of the most beautiful opera houses I have ever seen and the tour provided wonderful historical background.
According to our client, the experience itself was not bad, but we will never use this vendor again! The day we were supposed to be emaile3d the tickets, they communicated to us with a change in schedule. Both I (the travel agent) and our client, who was already in Buenos Aires, tried to connect with the vendor to confirm a new time for hours, from morning till evening without any type of reply! Even Viator tried to connect and could not! We tried email, they would not answer their phones, even their Whatsapp number! It was not until almost midnight the day prior to the tour that they connected with the client. This is simply unacceptable!
It was a beautiful theatre with so much history! We were able to see a rehearsal of Aida, which was an extra special treat! Our guide was knowledgable and ensured all questions were answered!
As I have read in other reviews this is not a small group tour which is definitely stated in additional information as a maximum of 15 guests. There were approximately 50 people in our group. I still have the paper copy i printed of my original booking which states the above regardless of the operators reply. This statement needs to be amended in the additional information section as it is one of the reasons I booked this tour. I had no problem receiving the tickets by email the day prior as the operator states. Regardless of the larger than expected group my wife and I still enjoyed the tour and I would still recommend if you would like to see the theatre. The tickets can be purchased much cheaper at the theatre but you run the risk of the tour being sold out prior.
Well organized. Theater is spectacular . Highly recommended . Guide was knowledgeable !!!!!! I wish we stayed longer so that we get to see a performance in this fabulous theatre
We were shown the foyer, the stairway, the bust gallery of composers with a brief lecture on the history of the theater. Our English group had about 40 people from various countries, some people were handicapped. All were eager to climb stairs in order to see the magical opera house. Finally we were allowed to enter the main thing and sit on a balcony with the view of the stage and all seven levels of the theater seats plus the famous ceiling. Because of the new season preparations we were told to keep quiet to allow the theater audio tests. Well, we expected to be able to see the famous interior which means having at least some illumination. Instead we were sitting for 15 minutes in darkness and then told to leave. Our tour was ruined but nobody apologized. The tour guide said that the new season preparation is always a priority. It was not a power outage, the first floor cafe and ticket office had lights. It is an unbelievable disregard of tour visitors. Shame on Teatro Colon and tour organizers.
First booking cancelled because of a demonstration. The staff at the theatre Colon said there was no demonstration. Time was changed, e-tickets couldn’t be opened and then ‘disappeared’ from email. They were twice the cost of official tickets. We believe we were scammed.
Our tour started as expected. We were shown the stairway, a foyer, and a bust gallery before we were allowed to take balcony seats in the theater itself. We were asked to keep quiet because theater technicians were doing some tests. Our English group had people from many far away countries including some handicapped people who were eager to climb stairs in order to see the magic opera house. We were sitting on the balcony in full darkness for 10-15 min and then asked to leave!? Somebody on the scene was working with flashlights, but the theater was dark and we could see nothing. Nobody explained or apologized for the ruined tour. Nobody cancelled following tours. The tour guide said: " La Scala has occasionally their problems too." Some visitors demanded their money back, though I do not know if they got them. The tour was $46,not free. What happened is an unbelievable disregard to guided tour visitors. Shame on the Theater Colon management and tour organizers!
A beautiful theatre with a rich history. A must-do when in Buenos Aires. Be sure to take this tour when you’re there.
