I need to preface my comment by acknowledging the various closures and detours around town are as a result of Pope Leo’s arrival on Sunday. Having said that the ride was slow taking much longer get to move from one location to the next. We boarded at stop 24 and disembarked at stop 5 to visit La Boca. After spending about 90 minutes touring La Boca, we walked over to stop 6 in front of El Teatro Colon where we, and a bunch of other riders waited for more than an hour for a Gray Line bus to appear - it never did. Out of frustration, we grabbed an Uber to get back to our hotel in Palermo. I don’t know when the bus ever showed up but I know we left a growing group of angry riders who were still waiting when we drove away.

I made a tour with Mara Hoses who is really incredible, she has a very good knowledge, was very polite and managed the tour in a very professional way. Anyone traveling to Buenos must take a tour with her.
Excellent tour of Caminito with Leonidas! He is incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating stories and historical insights that brought the neighborhood to life. A wonderful experience that made me appreciate the history and culture of La Boca even more. Highly recommended!
Had problems when buying the ticket in person. But they fixed it after alot of Google transactions.
Muy buen walking tour dado Marcelo
Had a great walking tour experience with Leonidas from Gray line. He speaks very good english
If you speak Spanish DON'T MISS THE FREE WALKING TOURS!!!! I spent an AMAZING 2 hours with Marcello today. Honestly, these walking tours have been the best part of visiting Buenos Aires. I feel like I have learned so much about Buenos Aires that I would have completely missed without these wonderful guided walks. And Marcello is an absolute gem. I couldn't have asked for a more lovely guide.
MARA HOSES was great! I had a lovely time walking around with her and learning about Puerto Madero! I HIGHLY recommend the walking tours if you speak Spanish - they are the best part of the Hop on hop off bus experience!
We did a walking tour with Gustavo and it was fantastic! He really knew his stuff and enjoyed telling us about the history of Buenos Aires. He is a lovely gentleman, and afterwards even went into a store with me to point out which brand of yerba mate he recommended. 10 out of 10! Frankly, the best part of the whole hop on hop off bus tour. If you speak Spanish, don't miss this included walking tour!
Gran walking tour en Caminito con Eliana! No se lo pierdan!
We got a 48-hour ticket for this hop-on hop-off bus, which is a great way to get a flavour of this very large and diverse city. There are two bus companies – red and yellow. We went with the red based on slightly more positive reviews. We had a good experience, especially given how poor hop on hop off busses can be in some places. We found they came regularly enough and were generally not too full. Of note, however, the yellow line does have more busses and so they do come to the designated stops more often. Also of note, the free walking tours offered with the red line were only in Spanish, which was no good for us English-speaking tourists! Overall, I’d recommend this option – either company – for people new to Buenos Aires and/or if you only have a couple of days to see the city.
Very convenient and safe way to see a lot in a short time frame. The walking tours are awesome and the flexibility is great too!
We were excited for the walking tours and were extremely disappointed to find out they were only in Spanish . The girl selling the tickets did not mention this at all despite speaking English as we navigated buying the tickets
Please do not use Gray Line Red Bus hop on hop off in Buenos Aires. We purchased a 72 hour ticket today 15/10/26 and our day was wasted. I requested a tour map at the start kiosk and was advised a map was available on the bus. There were no maps available on the bus! The whole purpose of the trip was to familiarise ourselves with Buenos Aires geographically using a map and the numbered stops and then further explore on subsequent days. So having been given false information we have wasted a day. We have requested a refund for the remaining two days. However the Yellow hop on hop off bus have already given us a map at their start kiosk. So we recommend the yellow bus route. We have used Hop on Hop off buses in a number of other cities around the world and have never previously encountered a problem so are very disappointed in Gray Line Red bus service today. Very good yrði and the guide Juan Gonzales was excellent
You get 4 Free walking tours! Excellent choice and very Knowledgeable!! Juan Gonzalez La Recoleta and Eduardo Meza in La Boca y Caminito Both very knowledgeable!
Very professional, very friendly, very knowledgeable
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: The collection of buses doesn't begin the day spread around the circuit. They all begin from the same place. So, if you want to start your day, say at stop number 20, you will have a long wait after the system begins operating at 9:00. If it's cold / windy / rainy in BA, it will be even more so on the bus. The two times we boarded the bus, there were puddles of water in the seats. The first time, I got my pants soaked even after wiping off the seat with my hand and it took a good hour for them to dry out after I got off the bus. One would think that a company like a Gray Line would dry the seats off for their customers. The audio program is really subpar. First, it uses an AI voice that does a big injustice to some words. Also, it will sometimes begin speaking a block before or a block after some landmark leaving you unsure about what it is talking about. It will also stop talking mid-sentence and move on to some other topic. Or, as happened to me, it might be talking about something at stop 40 while you are at stop 6. I couldn't figure out how to recalibrate the audio. Finally, you may need to wait more than a half hour for the bus because they will only board as many people as there are seats available. So, you may find yourself having to wait an additional 30 minutes for the next bus, with the hope that there will be a seat available for you.
The walking tour with Eduardo Meza that we experienced was great! He was very attentive, gave a lot of useful information, and overall an experience that I would highly recommend to everyone else. It was short, but not too short and walkable for all! We enjoyed learning about the history of this area and seeing the architecture and all the buildings along the river was super nice! And despite having cloudy weather the sun eventually shone through so it was great weather conditions.
We were waiting for two hours to get on the bus on the stop @1 on Sunday. Because they were overbooked. This is really bad and ineffective spending time.
Brilliant tour with excellent guide Juan González.
They did not have enough headphones so I could not hear the narration.
Juan Gonzalez was great 👍. FYI was in Spanish
I must do, if you are visiting this amazing city for the first time. Highly recommend it.
It took almost 4 hours to complete the whole circuit without getting off the bus. Not because the city is big (it is) but because they drive at a turtle pace, so slow if you walk next to the bus you are going faster. Then there is the frequency, if you have to wait about one hour for the next bus. Not acceptable. I don’t recommend it.
It is the best way to know a very popular route within the Buenos Aires tourist destination. Impressive!
Samantha was wonderful and very patient with all of our questions!
Great trip, headphones provided and interesting to learn the history of Buenos Aires. Bus takes you to both stadiums and it’s well worth getting off to look around especially at Boca Juniors to see all the blue and yellow houses. River plate is a bigger stadium and more modern built in a commercial area.
Samantha was an amazing tour guide around la Boca neighborhood. She was very energetic, helpful and knowledgeable. The tour bus was easy to navigate and had a good route.
It was a little difficult locating the bus stops on the map. Other than that, everything worked as expected.
Great time with Marcello, a personal tour guide with huge knowledge of history and architecture of the streets and buildings of Bs.As. Make sure to ask for him!
Eduardo war super lieb bester tourguide
The workers were very accomodating and friendly. Helpful and spoke english well! Instructions were clear.
Gets you where you need to go, quick and easy and with a view! Tour guides also help out with any questions and the automated tour guide on the headphones is useful too! Highly recommend for people who want to see as much as possible in limited time!
Paid for this guided tour for the city for 24hrs and it is very convenient. You get to see lots of attractions in 3hrs (if you don't step out of the bus). This tour takes you to 25 stops thorough the city's most emblematic sites. This tour is available in many languages. Safe and fun for all the family.
Maia excelente! Si van a la boca hagan el Walking tour!
Very comprehensive tour and the included tours are great. We did the one in the Recoleta with Samanta Puertas. She was fantastic.
I like using the Big Red bus to explore new cities, but on this occasion it was disappointing. I booked it on-line and didn’t receive the QReader code and couldn’t find the address to jump on the bus, I texted and rang and didn’t get a response. When I found the appropriate stop, 2 buses couldn’t take me as they didn’t have space for English speaker. Then when I got an a bus the conductor had to look me up in the system and he gave me access to QReader code, I only did half of the tour as I ran out of time.
PROS: the included walking tours are great! We toured with Mara Hoses and Eduardo Meza. Both guides were knowledgeable, engaging, super helpful and kind. I can't say enough kind things about them. Don't miss out on this perk of the pass. There are a few seats available in a heated section upstairs for folks in fall or winter that don't want to be out in the cold. CONS: The loop is only in one direction so it limits your planning quite a bit. Buses only come by about every half hour. We also had a negative experience with a stop not updated on their website. I contacted them via Whatsapp and they had a bus pick us up but the staff on that bus scolded us when we boarded and when I asked which stops offer walking tours, instead of answering they told me to just read the pamphlet! Everyone else was nice but that experience put a bit of a damper on our day.
It's very well organized, with explanations at the bus, and free tours with local people in a few locations.
This is really a great way to see the city, and you can get off at your leisure. Its really best to book the 48 hrs because its impossible to get off at all the stops you may be interested in, in one day. One thing, I wasn't always sure where places were that the announcer mentioned, and some are far from the stop. I was able to walk into the infamous LA Boca neighborhood. I missed my first day and got off at a few stops on the second day. A good experience overall. Buses pass every half hour.
It’s a good tour, but trying to find the stop is challenging. We were close to Stop 20 or 21 and there was no sign at all like a stop. So we Uber to Stop 0, so advise would be to go to Stop 0. The number provided did not work either, once we figured this out, the tour was good…
We had a really great walking tour in La Boca with Mara. She knows so many facts about the history of that area and also about Buenos Aires in general. Thank you so much also for making the tour in english :) Great experience.
Awesome tour, totally recommend it! Paula showed us around at the second stop and it was incredible. Having a guided tour really makes a huge difference. It made me love dulce de leche and mafalda even more.
Excellent tour and great guides, special mention for Soledad who answered our questions and shared a couple ghost stories on the Recoleta cemetery. This was our first visit and we are certain to be back and will use Grey lines.
Interesting day with Eduardo
It is recommended to do it the first day to familiarize with the city. The bus was only on time and the tourist guide was informative.
Demonstrations going on filling the bus street route. Only made it to 7 of the 25 stops.
I could find all the yellow buses, but not once could I find the stop for a red bus. Granted, I may be the only one who struggled to find the right stop that after multiple attempts to reach the bus company and walking the roots where I could see buses, but they were not stopping, after two hours I did my own tour. I’m still very frustrated with how this worked and would have absolutely done the yellow bus company which has multiple kiosks and individuals to support you versus this red company.
Excellent city tour ,open - top bus ,in différents langages, lasts approximatively 3 hours, many différents stops, excellents guides, différents walks, flexibility, Welcoming. Best way to discover the wonderful city of Buenos Aires
