Itinerary
You will meet your guide at your downtown located hotel or, if you are staying at outside the pick up area, at a centrally located meeting point.
You will head to one of the city’s largest districts, Palermo, where you’ll drive through Palermo Woods, home to many attractions including the Eco Park (formerly Zoo), Plaza Italia and Galileo Galilei Planetarium. If you choose the Premium option you will have the possibility to extend the tour to see the Palermo Racetrack ant the Islamic Cultural Center before continuing with your tour.
We will pass through Retiro and Recoleta, one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the city, with elegant shops, open-air cafes and its renowned Recoleta Cemetery. If you choose the Premium option you will have the possibility to buy the entrance fee and visit it.
Then you will pass towards 9 de Julio Avenue, the grandest avenue in the city. Where you will see the Colon Theatre, built between 1889 and 1908, this stunning opera house stands proudly near Plaza de la República, right off Avenida 9 de Julio. Widely known for its grandeur, excellent sound quality, and fascinating history, it's considered one of the top five opera houses in the world.
Continuing through 9 de Julio Avenue, you will see the iconic Obelisk of Buenos Aires, a 1936 monument to honor the foundation of the city, stands prominently at the bustling intersection of Avenida 9 de Julio and Avenida Corrientes. Rising 67 meters high, this iconic structure is a symbol of Buenos Aires' rich history and vibrant culture.
Arriving Plaza de Mayo, the main square of Buenos Aires and a historic site of political activism and civic engagement, we will stop there and visit key landmarks such as the Casa Rosada (Presidential Palace), the Catedral Metropolitana, and the Cabildo (Old City Hall).
Continuing with the tour we will visit San Telmo, one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods, known for its well-preserved colonial architecture. See its many attractions, including Dorrego Square, where you should keep your eyes open for spontaneous tango performances – San Telmo is the center of tango in Buenos Aires.
Our next stop is in La Boca, Buenos Aires’ most colorful neighborhood, where a European atmosphere has remained strong since the neighborhood was settled by Italian immigrants. The district is a major attraction for the brightly painted buildings on the Caminito, the neighborhood’s main (pedestrianized) drag where you’ll hop off the coach to go for a stroll and see local artists selling their work.
Then we will continue to one of the most modern neighbourhoods of the city, Puerto Madero. This district is a revamped dockside area, popular with tourists and business lunchers. You will find the famous "Puente de la Mujer" by Calatrava. The tour concludes at Galerías Pacífico, a popular shopping area, where you can feel free to explore more of Buenos Aires at your own pace. If you choose the Premium option, the tour will conclude with transportation back to your hotel (only selected downtown hotels).

Really good tour and a nice way to see the main highlights of Buenos Aires. Everything was well organized and our guide was friendly, informative, and made the tour very enjoyable. A great option if you want to get to know the city in a short time. Definitely recommended!
Excellent tour! The guide was fantastic and the driver was extremely friendly. We shared the tour with other people, and everything exceeded our expectations. The schedule was well organized, the places we visited were beautiful, and everything ran smoothly..
One of the best tours for a fantastic way to explore Buenos Aires
Great tour, very informative. Lucila and Willie were very friendly. We went to very interesting places and had a good view of different places
Elba was phenomenal! Appreciated her warmth and inclusiveness for all travelers. She was really knowledgeable and had great recommendations.
Great tour, very informative and well worth it. Driver was excellent and our tour guide was extremely nice and knowledgeable.
Tour was very interesting It is a tour guide. Natalia who made it special and she was excellent presenting information very friendly. And demonstrated professionalism. Highly recommend
We had booked a four hour private city tour of Buenos Aires. Our pick up was at the Marriott Hotel. The driver/guide never showed up. We called the numbers given and there was no response. That was the only day in Buenos Aires and we wasted a day. Very disappointing. Finally we took a hurried city tour with Hop On Hop Off bus. We lost the money we had paid in advance for the tour plus missed the tour we wanted to do. Very disappointed.
We loved our time in Argentina, Uruguay and Chile thanks to Tangol Travel. They took care of airport transfer, tour excursion, and even tickets for dinner shows! They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time stress free. Their communication was very good at all times highly recommend to download WhatsApp so you can stay in contact with them at any time. Thank you for making this vacation special.
It was an amazing visit. It was really complete. We visited every thing that had to be seen and the information given was really good. And the guide and bus driver were really friendly. It was a great tour.
This tour stopped in the top tourist spots and the guide kept us well informed and was engaging. We did however counter some issues though out of our guides control but to be considered from an operators view. 1. We had to change buses last minute, this was due to reaching seated capacity unexpectedly. 2. Part of the tour was whilst sitting on the bus and not everyone got a clear view when parked up but not disembarking of the monument, building, etc that we were looking at. The bus stopped and blocked our view often through the window with either a Ricki Martin concert poster and quite often trees. 3. The back seats aren't the best seats to get an all round view. It's very hit or miss which side is the best. Though I would do again and recommend to my friends, I feel that this experience can be improved.
Did not like stopping at a location and not being able to get out of the bus to take a picture. We were the last ones picked up on the tour and sat at the back of the bus. When we got off the bus, we changed to the front of the bus. The people sitting there were furious that we took their spots. We did not appreciate having to walk back to our hotel when promised to return us there when we signed up
Super operation. Came to our hotel for pick up. On time. We had a van bus which was very comfortable. Able to see out very easily and to take photos 3 great stops. At the recoleta we were guided to several prominent tombs. Especially the tomb of Eva Peron Drove through main neighborhoods with a short stop in La Boca. Plenty of time to see the area and get a snack. There was a half hour stop at the Plaza de Mayo so you could get photos of the Casa Rosada and Cabildo. Enough time to go into the cathedral to see the tomb of San Martin Our guide Lucilla was wonderful. Very informative. Great pace if you have problems walking Have taken many tours. This was the best.
We have been on MANY VIATOR tours. This was horrible with a fast talking tour director (Sol) who spoke Spanish quickly and reverted to English and back & forth with NO possibility of understanding her. She was rude & uninterested in her clients. We truly SHOULD be reimbursed because we received no knowledge of our sights! AWFUL! Al & Mj Walburg
The tour guide was very nice, but unfortunately the tour was in three languages, English, Spanish and Portuguese, so she had to speak really quickly, which made her very difficult to understand in English. The bus was late getting to our hotel to pick us up, and then didn't drop us off at the hotel afterwards, but we didn't have far to walk back. We had three stops where we could walk around on our own. The last stop was for 45 minutes, near some very tacky souvenir shops. The time would have been better spent at the other 2 stops and taking us back to the hotel afterwards. We only really needed 10 minutes to buy souvenirs. At the other two stops we were just left on our own to look around. It would have been better if the guide had come with us, and explained what the buildings were, we were looking at. At the cemetery we were just pointed to the entrance. Some of the people on the tour didn't even understand where to go so we had been to the cemetery earlier, we had to point them in the right direction. It would have been better of the guide had come to show them the entrance, and explained more about the cemetery.
The tour sites visited were interesting and great. The biggest disappointment was not going to the cemetary where Eva Peron is buried. We were looking forward to visiting that site. Tour picked us up at our hotel, but did not drop us off there. The up hill walk in the heat of the day was a challenge for one member of our group. The tour guide was wonderful. Her English was very clear and she was very responsive to calling the van early when one member of our group needed to get out of the heat. The driver was professional. The van was clean and the stops were well timed. Good tour, but it could have been better.
A nice overview of the city. Guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent price. Bus was very clean.
Pleasant guide, but I wish we had seen more sights than simply following a route with two short stops at tourist shopping malls and not enough time at the Recoleta Cemetery. It's difficult to understand the English when it's spoken as fast as the Spanish.
The trip was more than nice, Cynthia our guide was very nice and gave us pretty good insight into the places visited. However, bear in mind that such trip shows you places you should go and explore by yourself in slow pace, preferably on your feet.
it was average. More time should be given on places. and should also stop at main toursist spots like open flower, bridge
The tour was good and the guide was friendly and helpful. If I had any criticism at all, she spoke way too fast sometimes and made hard to get what she was saying.
Because of traffic jam they arrived 1,5 hours later than mentioned in the confirmation. The guide, Licilla was Difficult to understand in English. Tour schould be 4 hours but we had 2 hours traffic jam... stops were ok; enough time to look around.
Moderately rainy day devastated this tour. Pickup was delayed from 9:30 to 10:25, and tour end time slipped from 12:30 to 2:15. We did not get to the cemetery. Most of the time time was spent on the bus in heavy traffic. The narration was good, but English was a bit difficult to understand. She talked fast and switched between her native Spanish to English with no breaks as if it were all the same sentence. Rainy day traffic is a risk you take in a very large city like this. At least it was not a big investment.
This was a perfect quick tour of Buenos Aires. We were able to get out and experience many of the main tourist sites which allowed us to figure out where we wanted to spend more time. The tour guide as adorable, and very helpful. We were there on a holiday weekend and she helped us find a good place the change money. Worth it!
Booked this tour as my wife was visiting Buenos Aires for the first time. Visited Recoleta, Palermo, Boca etc. Skirted San Telmo but with only 4 hours in this massive city it was understandable. Stopped 3 times including Boca for 30 minutes. It was match day so we got a feel of the atmosphere. Guide was very good spoke in Spanish and English, A "Friend" jumped on to take photos of everyone then disappeard to doctor photos of football and tango for sale later, 10 US for 1 and 15 US for both, no pressure to buy though. Driver brought a flask of mate (tea) for everyone to try, which was nice. All in all a nice way to see a little of the centre but choose the morning tour as it was too hot in the afternoon to be stuck on a minibus, just my opinion.
Day tour, never took place due to organisers poor management and lack of customer service. We arrived at location early, doors closed, guides inside, then to be told we were late, and asked to meet at new location some 40 minutes walk away. Very poor attitide, not worth the cost.
Learn the history of Argentina, it’s current and past politics, it’s past successes, and current economic distress: Recoleta, Palermo, mausoleum cemetery where Evita is entombed; walk beautiful parks and playas; cross the “Puente de la Mujer”, or the Women’s Bridge, donated by the Hilton Hotel Corporation, which was once the main port of BA; educate yourself on the architectural influences of French, English, Spanish, and Italian in BA’s existing architecture.
The tour guide was very imformative. His knowledge was amazing. I really enjoyed the contrast between the northern and southern districts. I enjoyed La Boca very much.
A good way to see the city and different areas, in a few hours. English speaking guide with good knowledge of the area.
When I scheduled my tour, I requested an English /Spanish speaking tour. However, when the tour guide arrived, she only spoke spanish. She quickly got on the phone to call her supervisor and I was told I could reschedule the tour for another day. But I was really looking forward to the tour so I went hoping to practice my spanish. The tour guide was really nice. She checked in with me at every stop to make sure I understood.Eventhough I didn't understand much about the history and architecture part, I enjoyed riding around seeing the sights. I loved, loved, loved LaBoca! It was colorful and festive. The tour guide showed me where to get an empanada and a glass of wine.. All for $4!🍷🥟. I took my cousin back a day later and played tour guide. This was a great tour and I would definitely do another one if I had the chance to visit again.
All staff from Tango were great, helpfull and kind. Definitvely is the option to konw Buenos Aires and Argentina
Very interesting english guide through Buenos Aires, we visited 6 parts of BA and really liked it. The guide Sophie speaks English fluently so it was easy to understand and follow.
I had a great city tour of Buenos Aires, pick up was on time, my guide was Lucille, who was very knowledgeable and was very helpful with questions and even with directions after the tour, and she recommended a great tango show which I loved. Lucille was very passionate about Boca Juniors football team!! She was amazing and spoke several languages. This tour is ideal to get your bearings and find out more about the beautiful city of Buenos Aires.
excellent value for money really interesting and tour guide fabulous good amount of time and not hurried
The tour is a great snapshot of the city. Just long enough to see what's needed with convenient stops made also. The tour guide was friendly, informative and helpful. Thanks
We’ve booked over trip advisor as we were for the first time in Buenos Aires. We are very lucky to have a young lady as a tour guide, very dedicated to her job and we found out a lot of things. You can see during the tour the most important attractions of the city and you can even have some time to dig in at Recoleta Cemetery and Casa Rosada or Caminito.
We only had a short time in Buenos Aires so this tour was perfect. It took us to all the most important sights with enough time to look around La Bocca. At the end of the tour we were asked if there was anywhere on the route we would like to be dropped off, so asked for near the Cemetery so that we could look around at our leisure.
This is the most cost effective and educational way to learn about the city. The tour packed in so much information and photo ops. The most famous sites and neighbourhoods were covered and there was even time for a couple of coffees also.
I availed this tour on last Sunday, Its good on the mentioned cost, Tour guide was nice, she was explaining in both English n Spanish .
Emiliano was very personable and gave us lots of info about the history of the areas we toured. He told us facts about which groups lived in each area and when they arrived there. We ended at the Recoleta Cemetery, which is an extraordinary site.
Picked up at hotel on time. told a bit about the tour where we were going etc. guide was ok although felt we could have been told a bit more about the history. we had a good amount of time to visit the places we wanted which was good although some of the stops we would have liked longer. all and all the trip was great value. you get what you pay for.
My wife and I were taken there on our tour yesterday and decided that we definitely wanted to go back. It has an amazing atmosphere , is full of stalls selling all sorts of Argentinian stuff together with various restaurants that each have their own tango couple dancing away. A lovely place to spend a few hours and while away time. And the architecture has to be seen to be believed ..just wonderfully colourful and quirky. A must as far as we were concerned and we came away with stacks of photos.
Turned up on time and guide was awesome. For the price it was good value and gave me an idea where to go in more detail. I would have liked more focus on architecture and historic/ cultural sites rather than things like the cartoon character street statues- as a tourist I new nothing about them and they meant nothing to me (or anyone else on the bus). The football stuff had no relevance either. The stops were a bit long and covering more areas would have been my choice. It was cheap and cheerful and the guide was knowledgeable, passionate and entertaining- glad I did it.
Really exciting experience. Guide was really nice and available, reach of information and suggests. The transfer is with a minibus (not a sightseeing bus), but they stop for two half-hour visits (one in Plaza de Maya, one in Caminito street), and they frequently stop for a picture in principal places
Good coverage of many sites in Buenos Aires. Guide Nicholas and driver Christian , well done . Just check thoroughly where you could be dropped off.
This tour was great and covered the main hot spots in this vast, big city! An air conditioned coach was clutch. Sophie, our tour guide, was amazing - she spoke in English and Spanish! I learned so much about Buenos Aires from her and I highly recommend doing this tour. Best value and great tour! Also, be sure to tip - I always do - they work hard and deserve a little extra.
Great way to orientate yourself. You can then choose where to go back to later. Nice driver and she spoke three languages on the trip. Impressive. And friendly.
Excellent value with knowledgeable guide and sufficient time at stops to take photos and quick exploration or grab a coffee. Can recommend.
It is a tour that gives an excellent overview of all the main attractions points in buenos aires with nice stops especially in la boca quarter ir so colorfull. It gives a good start.
