The artists performing in this Tango Show were superb! We were pleasantly surprised at the extremely high level of their musical and dancing skills. We got the added treat of seeing and hearing legendary Argentine singer Hugo Marcel. Everyone knew his songs and sang along. The dinner before the show was very good. They accommodated my husband, who is gluten free and dairy free. We enjoyed the complimentary wine which was of pretty good quality.

This was really a unique and special experience. The venue is awesome with its history. The dancers and the live band were great and the malambo entertainers were energizing! Must see while there!
The dancers were incredible and the show ran like clockwork. My only slight negative comment would be that the singer was probably on a little too long and i would have prefer more dancing but overall still a spectacular show and a must do in Buenos Aires.
The dancers, production, service staff, and the 90-minute performance were all excellent. Kudos to the performers and everyone working behind the scenes— they truly delivered a memorable show. However, on the night I attended, the venue felt overfilled. Seating was extremely tight, with guests packed closely together. I was seated in an upper tier corner, which already felt like a disadvantage, but it was made worse by an inconsiderate guest in front who repeatedly held their phone up, obstructing the view while trying to document the entire show. Leaning forward wasn’t an option either, as I would have blocked the view of those seated behind me. In the end, I had to stand for most of the performance just to properly appreciate the show. I understand this is a cultural experience popular with tourists, but I hope management takes a closer look at venue capacity. It significantly affects the overall guest experience and expectations. It’s a shame when such talented performers give their all, only for the atmosphere to feel cramped and, at times, like a money-driven setup. Would I recommend the show? Yes. Would I recommend watching tango at El Viejo Almacén based on this experience? Unfortunately, no.
This show was so much more than I expected. It was outstanding, everything about it! The musicians, the dancers, the singers, the costumes, even the servers! It was truly “Broadway” quality at a very accessible price. I also appreciated that transportation to/from was included. I highly recommend this show at El Viejo Almacen.
Super frustrating experience, we booked and they happily took our money for VIP seating but when we got seated we were no where near VIP seating. When I questioned it I was told well they had a large group book. Completely unacceptable to still take out money for VIP seating if none was available.
the malambo danced by the gauchos was amazing!! such a fun surprise! all the dancers were extremely talented and service was attentive. even with vip seating our views of the stage were partially obstructed but overall great experience in a historic setting
This tour met all of our expectations. We were picked up from our hotel as communicated to us. The dinner before the show was very good and the tango performances were excellent.
Started the evening with a three course meal and then walked across the road for the show. Very small and cosy inside with a small stage. I enjoyed listening to the history of this iconic place. The show was good and I was especially fascinated by the Gaucho act with boleadoras even though all the couples were good. There were also four musicians on the stage. Overall a wonderful evening, and nothing better than seeing a tango show in Buenos Aires, I would recommend ⭐
Very good, varied, and vegetarian friendly menu. Generous wine and beverage in adjacent restaurant and lounge. Then cross street to historic El Viejo Almacen theater for a great and OVER 90 minute show featuring the variety of Argentine classic music and dance culture. Talented live band on authentic instruments. Strong dance team and vocalists. Classic Tango and bolo performances. Included a mini-concert by famous Argentine vocalist Hugo Marcel. Round trip transfers included. We thoroughly enjoyed the Tango experience at El Viejo Almacen.
⸻ We attended the tango show at El Viejo Almacén with family and purchased the dinner-and-show package. The dinner itself was okay — the restaurant clearly caters to large groups, so it felt a bit like dining at a wedding or banquet. That said, buying the dinner package likely helps you get preferred seating for the show, which is worth it. The show, however, was amazing and absolutely the highlight of the evening. The live band was extremely talented, especially the pianist, who played at a level that felt like a concert performance. The tango portion featured four very skilled couples, and there was also an impressive tap-style ballroom number that really wowed the audience. Toward the end, a surprise singer comes on stage and leaves a strong impression, especially after you learn of his age. The venue itself adds to the charm — an old 1800s warehouse converted into a nightclub, full of character and history. If you’re visiting Buenos Aires and want a special night out, this is a great choice.
It was very enjoyable, and the food was good. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Argentina. I also love the country.
Great to catch a live tango show while in BA. This location was cozy and inviting. Excellent communication from the time of booking. Ask for a seat with a view. Performers were professional and friendly. We did dinner at steak restaurant down the road before the show.
Friendly staff. Food is amazing. Close to our hotel. Pick up and drop off very easy small group not busy and everyone was helpful in ordering drinks or food
I booked it the day of. I selected only the show. Being a solo female traveler, I picked this because they offer pick up and drop off from my hotel. But they didn’t provide me with the perk because they were already full. Its a safe-ish area and I ended up taking an uber. Don’t expect a lot of communication from their side though.
El Almacén is a true gem that transports you back in time, offering visitors a chance to step into another era, even if only for a few hours. Rather than mass-producing an experience, this venue curates something intimate and authentic, allowing guests to fully enjoy the journey. The dancers are exceptionally skilled, and the musicians are remarkably talented. Don’t hesitate to book El Almacén—and leave the Vegas-style shows for…Vegas!
Cannot recommend this show enough! It is a must do/must see when you are in Buenos Aires. The music, singing, dancing, talent overall was so impressive!!!
Our experience was fantastic! We sent an email from Australia and was contacted by Antonella who booked us on our word. Was very helpful and great with communication. We opted for a traditional meal and show. We arrived and learned (politely) that the resturant is first venue than the Tango venue. Which are literally 10/15 meters apart. We were greeted at the door in an upmarket resturant by a friendly gentleman I learned later was the owners son. Who confirmed our reservation and we were seated . We were given wine (bottle) water and menus with a wide variety of choices. After ordering I became quite engrossed in the care and consideration of the busy staff and owners. With well over 20 years together (I asked) it was harmonious. I could see the passion and pride in what they were doing. Waiters up and down stairs with more dishes (full) of meals) than I put in my dishwasher lol! With ease and stride! I noticed an older gentleman studying everything, his finger was on the pulse and I knew he was the owner. (Confirmed appreciatively by or waitress Lilliana) At 87 he was very passionate about every aspect of the evening which was obvious. Our meal was mouth watering from the entree to the desert. Extremely well presented. Made with gusto. I ordered light the soup vegetarian milletuille and orange mousse and Hubby heavy the salad, steak and el viejo cake. We exchanged tastes and agreed wholeheartedly it was delectable! On the wall were famous visitors. A collection of the stamps that had the venue imprinted on them. It was only then I realised that i had fluked choosing one of the most historic venues! Truthfully I felt like of this is the preliminary? Can't wait for the show! When it was time our friendly waitress escorted us across the street to our table on the balcony above the stage. Truthfully I can not see how any seat in the house wouldn't be good. The venue is charming and quaint. The view would have been great from anywhere in my opinion. Like the passionate preliminary the show too was full of it! Quickly we were drawn in and mesmerised by lovely singing, talented musicians and remarkable dancers. They navigated the stage with such tradition, style, grace and you guessed it passion! I've been to 42 countries and seen and done alot. This $150 was well spent. To top it off Hugo Marcel graced us with some passions of his. It was very nastalgic as my grandmother had a couple old rca 45s I remember with his name on it. His voice as strong as ever and a pleasant end to a wonderful evening. As we left I thanked the 87 year old owner who'd sat reading reactions to the nights festivities for sharing his passion with us! Don't listen to naysayers this is a night to remember!
The tour operator was terrible. Reminders to make sure you are ready for pick up at 7:30, they cannot wait. They did not show up until 8:30. We stood outside waiting for an hour. As a result the very nice dinner was rushed. The show was great. We were given great seats. My suggestion would be to do this dinner and show and either take an uber there or find a different operator.
A very very very good and professional show but… A very very very very very bad diner Don’t go there for diner go only for the very good show
Never seen anything quite like this. The performers were all professional, the organisation was perfect and the food was worth spending on if you haven't eaten. Was definitely worth the money.
We skipped the dinner and instead ate at a wonderful neighboring restaurant - Huacho - HIGHLY recommend! We bought our tickets at the last minute so the transfer wasn’t available - no big deal it’s a $5 uber ride from the hotel. Not sure what “type” of tickets we got but they were about $60/each with no dinner, which seemed reasonable, though I’m sure one could shop around for something else. Our seats were great - in the balcony, which I prefer - the main level looked a bit cramped. The venue was small, cool and felt historic. I’d never seen a tango show before so have nothing to compare it to but I thought it was great. Sure it was touristy but it wasn’t cheesy. The dancers were phenomenal! I was a bit overwhelmed by all of the tango show options but was really glad this is where we ended up.
The show is amazing and well worth a visit. The dancing, music and ambience were exceptional. Shame about the food. My steak arrived with a knob of butter on the top that did not melt because the steak wasn’t hot. The waiter spotted and said is that food hot. I said no and he said sorry and walked off. The wine is awful too. Go for the no dinner option and you’ll really enjoy the experience.
We had a very nice evening. My wife and I went at the beginning of our honeymoon, and it was a lovely experience. We paid for front-row seats — a fantastic spot! The dancers were incredible and full of passion, and the ladies were literally swinging above us. The band seemed a little tired, but overall, it was a great evening. Definitely recommended for anyone who wants to experience authentic tango in Buenos Aires.
Amazing dancers, even better band! VIP tickets get you inches from the stage. Would have preferred cocktails over the beer/wine only option.
Fantastic musicians, relaxed candlelit atmosphere, friendly staff. VIP is worth the extra for the incredible view. Absolutely brilliant evening!
A very entertaining and energetic show. I think a milonga would be the original tango as danced by locals. This was more like Dancing with the Stars. We were glad that we went though and were entertained throughout the show. The dinner was excellent and we were transported to and from the hotel. I recommend the show.
Every thing was perfect fantastic show 5 Stars . The gauchos part is awesome. Definitely i recommend
This show was twice the cost of other Tango dinner shows, there is less tango dancing in the performance. I was in the transfer bus for an hour and a half , a waste of time.
The dinner was nice. The showroom is across the street from the restaurant. The show lasts for ~2hrs with full taste of cultural tango and songs. Kids may feel tired toward the end as the show will last till around half past 11pm.
It was cool to see some parts of this show. There was lot more singing than I was expecting. Still a pretty cool show. Drinks are included but are really cheap ones so just pay for the drinks.
Excellent performance! Energetic, sensual and full of surprises! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Buenos Aires.
A terrific tango show in a venerable location. Excellent dancers and band. Wonderful drums and boleadoras. Amazing what 6 dancers could do on a small stage. We did show only so I can’t comment on food.
The dancing was great. I really enjoyed it. The music was on point. I liked the tap dancer/drummer. I wish I had a a better seat though.
The show is very vibrant and beautiful. It is very different from a milonga setting. It is more of a very advanced and professional show. The artists are very skilled. I am glad that I did both. The only thing is that I purchased the VIP seat but was placed on the second floor. Not sure if it is supposed to be like this.
Goes a bit long and is a bit repetitive. I would recommend to shorten but worthwhile. The dinner was also very good.
We chose the dinner package and the food was very good. The waiters were a fun group. The tango performance was well done with several variations. The Gaucho/Bolas demonstration was very interesting and fun. We would have been fine without the singer at the end. We had come for the dancing and that was more than satisfying enough. Also, the dinner package came with transportation to and from the venue from our airbnb.
We had a really enjoyable evening. The meal was well presented with a good choice of food and water and wine on the table. We were in the VIP room on the second floor. Unfortunately it lacked air con and did get much too warm. The theatre was charming - small and intimate. The show was amazing! For such a small stage it was so impressive how professional the dancers were. The music complemented it very well and there was a lot of variety. Overall an excellent night!
Absolutely loved this show the dancers were passionate about the dance of Argentina and the history of the tango. Would definitely recommend - although the seats are a little uncomfortable
The show itself is amazing and I highly recommend you go but not through this tour. In theory the tour provides the convenience of a pick up and drop off but in reality a day before the event i got a message saying my airbnb is out of the pick up zone and that they’d pick me up at a hotel 20 mins away. Then we spent over an hour in a van collecting other people from all over the city. When I asked if they could at least drop us back home after the show, since it would be 1 AM, answer was no (not particularly nicely) - so we bailed and took an uber home. Honestly the uber is leas than $10 - just buy the tix and take an uber. Save money and the headache.
Great tango experience. Good 3 course dinner before walking across to the theatre. I loved the quality and showmanship of all the dancers and bolos performers
This was a show I booked at the last minute after talking to a fellow cruiser who had booked it. I’m so glad I decided to booked for me and my husband. It was a great night and highly recommend it. Picked up from our hotel in Buenos Aires taken to restaurant where we had a fabulous three course meal with wine included. We then walked across street to the venue for the Tango show. We were seated upstairs. What a show. Wonderful. Two drinks were also included during the show. At the end of the evening we were taken back to hotel.
Love this tango and would say it is must see for anyone visiting Buenos Aires! It was a very well round show with amazing talented dancers, singer, musicians and entertainer!!! The only thing is I wish we would have gotten better seats because they sat us all the way in the back even though we saw there were empty seats in front of us.
Fantastic show, don’t be scared that it may seem touristy, it’s well worth it. Great performers, and variety in a very professional and passionate show!
The show was excellent!! For $68 they pick you up, drop you off, give you 2 drinks and a lively, exciting Tango show. Loved every minute!!!
Fantastic Steaks and excellent original Tango Show. The transfer was also very good. Highly recommended to all
Great experience as for as the show is concerned. The service and drinks were subpar. But I still recommend to book it for the tango show’s sake.
Suburb performances! We had seats right beside the stage! Loved the pianist and band. The dancers were very talented and extremely proficient and the soloist muy bien! Finally we were entertained by well-known Argentinian artist Hugo Marcel! It was an exceptional evening from the delicious dinner to memorable entertainment!
DO NOT do the dinner. The show is great with talented dancers and we really enjoyed it, but we were surprised that the dinner wasn't served during the show and was instead at a restaurant across the street. The restaurant is clearly a tourist trap - worst food and steak we had in Buenos Aires by far. The restaurant is also extremely overlit. Do the show ONLY and you won't be disappointed.
The show was great. Small stage, lots of action, the time flew by. Great view from the balcony, good service, a couple of drinks included. That part was excellent. The meal in the restaurant opposite was ok. The problem was the restaurant was cold which then put a dampener on the experience. I got a taxi back afterwards to avoid the various drop offs. Uber is inexpensive in BA and I informed the driver who was very good. I’d do the show again but probably not the meal.
