Pestana Buenos Aires

This hotel feels more like a 3-stars rather than a 4-stars hotel. Rooms are outdated and breakfast is extremely basic. On the good side, is well located. In the room, the shower is great and the towels are big and fluffy!

A well-known international brand—I’ve stayed at many of their locations around the world. However, the hotel in Buenos Aires falls far short of Pestana’s standards. It’s outdated, with signs of wear and tear, rust, damaged furniture, and worn-out hardwood floors everywhere. The sheets and pillows are stained. The towels aren’t any better. The rooms aren’t very clean, and the hotel smells musty. On the other hand, the price is good—probably in line with what’s offered—the staff is very friendly, and the central location is convenient for getting around. Maximum 3 stars

Make sure you’re not thirsty after 10pm unless you like water from the faucets

I recently stayed at the Pestana Buenos Aires and was very disappointed. I chose this hotel because I am Portuguese and the Pestana chain is well-known and reputable in Portugal, but this was a real disappointment. This is definitely not a 4-star hotel. The property is run-down, outdated, and has a strong smell of mold throughout. My room was in poor condition, with worn furnishings, stained and discolored bed linens, and an overall feeling of neglect. The bathroom was especially concerning: the toilet seat and bathtub were darkened from age and wear (see photos). Breakfast was also poor, with very limited choices and not even one free espresso coffee available. The only positive aspect is the central and convenient location. However, the overall value for money is terrible. If you care about comfort or making good use of your budget, I strongly recommend choosing another hotel. This property is in urgent need of renovation.
