My girlfriend and I spent four days at this hotel in July '26. By a happy chance we arrived on Wednesday (July 15th) and got to experience the Argentine win over England during the world cup. This hotels location is frankly the main reason I am giving it four stars, you are literally in the heart of downtown.. which is a gift and a curse. I booked us a superior double loft for our stay, according to the website the room is supposed to be 710' square feet. I put the room at 600' best, not small I was just expecting a bit more space. However I will forever cherish my nights people watching and sipping red wine to end my evenings from this rooms panoramic windows. Breakfast was served in suite which was unique but honestly is really only worth the coffee or tea to get you going in the morning. All in all a solid stay, although I will honestly concede this establishments location is the main reason it holds its own.

I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel. I booked with this property multiple times for a group trip, and each time my reservation was cancelled with different excuses. The first time, they claimed there was a problem with my payment card, even though the same card has been working perfectly for years on Booking.com and with many other hotels. I had selected a free cancellation booking, so there was no valid reason for them to reject it. On another reservation, they attempted to charge my card and created unnecessary confusion regarding the payment. As a group organizer, this caused significant stress and disrupted the planning for my clients. The biggest issue is the lack of professionalism and communication. Instead of honoring confirmed reservations, they repeatedly cancelled them, forcing me to spend valuable time finding alternative accommodation for my group. I have booked with many hotels around the world and rarely experienced such unreliable service. If you are traveling with a group or have an important trip, I would strongly recommend choosing another hotel to avoid unnecessary stress and last-minute cancellations. A confirmed reservation should mean exactly that. Unfortunately, this hotel cannot be trusted to honor confirmed bookings.
Extremely disappointing experience and one of the worst hotel check-in experiences we have ever had. During check-in, we were given access to occupied rooms twice. The first room contained another guest’s personal belongings, and the second room had a guest inside who was shocked that strangers entered the room. This is a serious and unacceptable security failure that completely destroyed our sense of safety and trust in the hotel from the very beginning. After these incidents, we had to repeatedly carry our luggage up and down the hotel ourselves while staff kept reassigning rooms. This was exhausting, stressful, and completely unacceptable after a long arrival. The third room we were finally brought to was also not the room configuration we originally paid for and booked. At that point it honestly felt like the hotel had completely lost control of room management. Although we eventually received an upgraded room, this did not compensate for the stress, disruption, and anxiety caused by the first day and the way the situation was handled afterward. What made everything even more concerning was that before arriving we had already seen Google reviews mentioning serious security-related incidents at this property. After personally experiencing multiple room access failures ourselves, we genuinely no longer felt safe staying here. Management repeatedly promised to contact us, but there was never any real resolution. The only compensation offered was a voucher for a future stay — which honestly felt absurd after such an experience, because after this stay we will never return to this hotel again. Mistakes can happen, but what happened here went far beyond a normal hotel mistake. This was a major failure in organization, communication, and guest security handled very poorly from start to finish. P.S. I am aware the hotel may respond by mentioning the room upgrade and the future stay voucher they offered us. However, after this experience, we would never feel comfortable returning to this property again, so the voucher is of no value to us and can simply be cancelled.
Want to sleep? Book somewhere else! Nothing like in the pictures and if you want to sleep, book somewhere else. The place is run-down, very noisy (no sound proofing) and bright (bloken curtains). Nothing works, the door, windows, the fridge, aircon, plugs and curtains are broken and not maintained. The faulty aircon unit of a neighbouring rooms kept us awake the whole night, caused water flooding and nobody was able to stop the dangerously overheating aircon unit! Only positiv is the breakfrast that is served to the room (at random times though)
We enjoyed our stay at HTL 9 de Julio! Our room was a loft room with beautiful balconies overlooking the avenue! There was plenty of space for our luggage without being on top of each other. The staff were lovely and responsive to requests. An easy walk along the avenue towards the obelisk! Felt safe to walk around at night. At night, it was noisy due to the traffic, but we ended up putting earplugs in and an eye mask insitu, and we had good nights sleep after that!
