The hotel's reputation and pricing set expectations that, during our four-day stay, the property consistently failed to meet — not in terms of dramatic failures, but in the steady accumulation of small deficiencies that, taken together, point to a systemic management problem. The room itself was the first disappointment. We had reserved a 35 m² apartment; what we received felt considerably smaller — closer to 20 m² by any reasonable estimate. The bathroom, separated from the room by a stained fabric curtain rather than a door, was cramped and did not meet the standard one would associate with a property of this category. Basic amenities typically found in mid-range hotels — a coffee maker, writing materials, a shoehorn — were absent. The more telling issues, however, were operational. Bottled water, a standard provision, had to be requested on three separate occasions during our stay, each time met with a different form of resistance or delay: one request was handled promptly, another was met with an attempt to defer it to turndown service, and a third required a follow-up call after the initial request went unfulfilled. The ironing set proved even more laborious to obtain, requiring one phone call and two in-person visits to the front desk. Throughout these interactions, the prevailing attitude of the staff was one of mild disengagement — no initiative to assist, a tendency to explain why something could not be done rather than to simply do it, and an absence of the basic courtesies one expects in hospitality. Breakfast, too, fell short. The buffet has been replaced by an à la carte service which, while offering a reasonable selection, was slow and produced at least one error in our order every single morning. To be fair, the hotel retains a certain appeal, and we appear to have been allocated one of its less desirable rooms. But the experience suggests an establishment coasting on its name, with staff that has not been given — or has not internalized — any meaningful standard of guest care. At this price point, that is difficult to overlook.

I went to the bar last night, the atmosphere is great! It is sexy, elegant, chick, cozy. Antonella was my bartender and I’m not sure if his name is Lucas but both were great. I had no cash so I was not able to tip them. (You can’t add the tip in your credit card). This hotel and the amenities is a great option for a night out in Buenos Aires.
Good overall experience but with some clear room for improvement. The staff are excellent and one of the strongest parts of the hotel. The restaurant options are also fantastic and definitely add to the stay. The location is great and very convenient. However, the rooms are just okay and the hotel is starting to show its age, with visible wear and more dated decor throughout. The spa is very good and worth using, and the gym is decent. With some renovation and updates, this could easily be one of the top hotels in Buenos Aires again.
I absolutely loved this hotel. From the moment you walk in you know it’s going to be a beautiful experience. The rooms were large and beautifully decorated. The breakfast had so many options. The pool is so cool. The only thing I think they need to work on is the poolside service. Especially on the weekends. They waited 30 min to let me know they didn’t have the wine I had ordered. And the only reason they told me was because I had to ask. I had to chase someone down anytime I ordered something. But overall I would still absolutely recommend this hotel because the good definitely outweighed the small inconveniences.
All style and no service. The Faena Hotel is more focused on showing off than taking care of its guests. We waited over 30 minutes at the bar only to be told they weren’t serving because they were preparing for a private event—with no warning and no apology. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Not how guests should be treated at a supposed luxury hotel.
