Don’t do it. Look elsewhere. Rooms extremely small. Moved rooms twice because each time there was something drastically wrong. First one - the table/shelf affixed to the wall was so crooked things kept sliding down. One of them was a bottle of water - cleaning up with towel I realized how dirty the floor was - the towel was black. Then, while doing the bed he n I was mortified by how the mattress cover was literally covered in stains. Moved to another room - lower category, for one night. No refund offered for the difference. The room was nicer, on the renovated floor, but even smaller than the previous one. Next day - moved again to another room of the same category I had booked. Again, even smaller than the original room, balcony smaller as well as it was near the top of the building and dimensions were affected. No room to put my luggage. Barely any room to eat when you order room service. Cleanliness still an issue. Stained bed, dirty floors. Next morning, woke up covered in bites - don’t know if it’s mosquitos (no bug screen in the balcony door) or anything else. Another issue - some sort of machinery on the roof was working on/off in cycles and waking me every time it started working again. To add insult to injury, there was no water that morning. Also, the internet was so slow that every time I tried to watch YouTube on the TV, the connection would drop off every few seconds. That was the last straw. Ended up moving to another hotel for the next 6 nights and that saved my trip. I was luckily able to get a refund for the unused nights but no refund or compensation was offered for all the issues I had to deal with during my 3 nights there. Unless your standards are pretty low, don’t stay here.

Great hotel, staff was friendly & professional. The breakfast area was a little small, but the service & food was great. The location was good, & was given good advice from the front desk team.
We were forced to move to a different hotel due to NO HOT WATER. We urge readers to stay elsewhere. The furniture is old, of poor quality, and in disrepair (even in the closet of the “renovated” rooms). The bathroom showers and sinks have a lot of mold. The shower handle was not attached properly. The restaurant and housekeeping staff need much more training and seem utterly inexperienced. The neighborhood is great but the location is on a busy street and the walls are not soundproof, so it’s noisy until very late at night. The only positive aspect of our stay was our interaction with Daniela and Samuel, who are terrific.
From start to finish our stay at Casa Sur Recoleta was first class. The front of house team were always charming and ready to help and give recommendations. The hotel was spotless, but still allowed us to feel comfortable. Breakfasts were super. We also attended a Mate masterclass available hosted in one of the sister hotels, and this was fascinating and really fun. We stayed in a couple of hotels in Argentina, and our stay here really stood out.
Excellent location! Breakfast is great. Staff are friendly. The hotel is more 4 star than 5 star; be aware that there is heavy construction work on the building next door that starts at 9am most days - intense banging. One thing I found bizarre is that there was no complementary tea or coffee in the room - there was a Nespresso machine but to use a pod it was $3 USD per coffee pod - bizarre! The bed mattresses were very old too and in need of updating. Aside from the negatives, it was still a great stay due to the location and the fact we didn’t really need to use the room during the construction hours anyway
