We really enjoyed the tour. Szusan was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information on the historical significance of each place we went. The wine tasting was interesting and we enjoyed the lunch and shopping. The restaurant easily accommodated our vegetarian family member, which was appreciated. All in all, I’d definitely recommend this tour!

Our guests will have a lovely walking tour guided by our professional guide. Enjoy here a delicious lunch in a lovely wine cellar, with an unforgettable winetasting.
You will get a great walking tour in this small charming town with a special Mediterranean atmosphere, nice location on the river bank. In the heart of Szentedre you will find famous Ice-Cream makers, Confectionaries, Restaurants, Real Hand-Made Hungarian Souvenirs.
Margit Kovacs was a 20th century Hungarian artist who developed a unique and very recognizable primitivist style in ceramics and sculpture. Her work can be seen in multiple museums in Hungary . The Szentendre museum actually offers some of the best of her work and certainly desrves a visit with a guided tour. Sculptures, reliefs and symbolic works are brought together in a tasteful manner.
We drive up to the top of the hill to enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the Danube valley. Visegrad, in the vicinity of Budapest, is famous for the remains of the Renaissance summer residence of King Matthias. Here we visit the sights as a one hour long guided tour.

We had a wonderful time on the Szentendre and Visegrád Private Danube Bend Tour with Wine Tasting. The scenery along the Danube was beautiful, and both towns were charming and full of history. The wine tasting was a lovely addition and very enjoyable. Everything was well organized, relaxed, and perfectly paced. A special thank you to Nora, our guide - she was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even better with her explanations and warm personality. Highly recommended if you want a private, comfortable, and memorable day trip from Budapest. Day trip
It was nice to get to see the lovely town of Szentendre, the umbrella street was particularly lovely and learning the history of the castle. We learnt a lot on the drives around but sometimes it was a bit overwhelming and it needed a few more breaks to digest the information
Steve was a terrific guide. We highly recommend him and this tour. Enjoyed the castle and the beautiful view of the Danube. Lunch and wine tasting were very enjoyable.
Nice. More info about driver and vehicle ahead of trip would be good, be more like uber for security purposes. Tour guide was very knowledgeable.
The team was easy to work with, very accommodating and professional. Once we worked out the details for our private tour for 8, Martha was awesome and we all had a great time. Highly recommended
Wonderful tour! Susan is extremely knowledgeable and speaks excellent English! Visegrad castle is amazing, be advised there are several dozen stairs. Fascinating medieval history. We sampled 4 wines (red, white, rose, sweet) and heard about the various Hungarian wine regions. To be clear, this is not a vineyard/winery tour; there are no vineyards close to Budapest. The lunch was excellent, and because I’d contacted them beforehand they easily accommodated one guest’s not eating any red meat. The village of Szentendre is quaint but mostly touristy, but the Margit Kovács Ceramic Museum was wonderful, we could have spent far more time there. I highly recommend this tour and Susan in particular.
The tour was perfectly planed. Each stop was both stunning and interesting in the Danube bend. Our guide, Nora customized our tour based on what we wanted to see. We really saw and learned a lot about the Hungarian history and about the Hungarian wine . It was a prefect balance between local history, tour of the cellar and great wine tasting.
Nora was a fabulous guide. Gorgeous fall day with great views at the castle. Sventendre was a lovely town. Wine tasting and lunch were great.
I love Nora! She gave us the relevant info. Let us stay on tract but did not rush us in szentendre. The danube bend view was amazing
Sophia was an excellent guide and easy to spend the day with. The castle was interesting with its museum and view and it was nice to see the countryside and villages outside of Budapest. We enjoyed the shops and atmosphere in Szentendre. Lunch and wine tasting was good, too.
Great day out. Steve was very knowledgable about the history of Budapest and it was a pleasure spending the day with him. He was on time for our trip and ensured we had a good experience. Really enjoyed the trip to Szentendre such a beautiful village
The tour was enjoyable and our guide Martha was very knowledgeable about history and the region. However, our tour was on a Monday and many places we could have visited were closed and one site was closed due to a conference. The tour company should not offer this tour on Mondays.
The tour was perfect. We enjoyed the history and local culture. Nora is a terrific guide and customized our tour to meet our wishes. Bravo!
Fantastic day out , very interesting and extremely well looked after by Nora and Susan 🤩🤩🤩 .. went above and beyond 🙏
What a wonderful trip. Our private tour guide Nora Mathe was awesome. She tailored the tour for our interest which made it very special. She is very informative in numerous ways and told us about the history as well as present day. It have us a real sene of the people and culture. I recommend taking this tour with her.
Our guide, Nora, was excellent in every way. She was knowledgeable of everything we visited, considerate, drove safely, and even did a little extra to make our experience even better than it was!
Marta was a spectacular guide & driver! Her passion for Hungary’s history is contagious. She was keen to share best photo spots and details in all historic landmarks. She was very friendly & helpful. The lunch & wine tasting were great! Would definitely recommend her!
This was a wonderful way to see something outside of Budapest. Pickup was on time. It was very hot that day and the car was comfortably cool. Susan has a lot of guide experience and it shows, she is very good, very knowledgeable. All parts of the trip were enjoyable and ran very smoothly. Susan even took us to a sight in Budapest we wanted to see. Szentendre is really an adorable town, would be worth a return visit. All in all, highly recommended, thanks to all involved.
Our day out was a great way to learn more history on Budapest outer regions. Seeing the bend in the renowned Danube river was good to see along with castles. The wine tasting and lunch was enjoyable and informative. Our driver Stephen was very informative and made our day memorable.
Nora is an excellent guide and driver with a very nice vehicle. It was great to get outside the city and see the countryside. The castle tour was excellent and Nora knows how to avoid the lines. We also had an excellent wine tasting and lunch in a small town. This tour was one of the best parts of our 2 week trip. She picked us up at our hotel and dropped us off there also. Nora is a local and seemed to know everyone
Our guide Nora was excellent. She was so knowledgeable about the area and just delightful as our tour guide.
This tour is a must if you would like to see the countryside outside the city of Budapest. Our guide Nora was delightful to work with and extremely knowledgeable. Her company IGuideBudapest can be found on Facebook to see pics along the tour.
Nora was lovely! Really happy to share her knowledge and paced the tour to our walking pace. We tasted several wines and came away with a real appreciation for Tokaji wine.
Nora the guide was excellent. She made the tour. Very knowledgeable and interesting. It was nice to go outside the city, the village we went to was beautiful, would have liked to have stayed longer to explore more. Lunch was good, but wine tasting was disappointing, it was more wine pairing with each of the 3 courses, you didn't get much wine and we felt a little rushed. We were in and out within an hour.
An informative but long trip to and from both cities. Our tour driver was friendly and helpful but sometimes difficult to hear from the back seat of her personal vehicle. Lots to see of the medieval fortress at Visegrad, with sweeping views of the Danube. But be advised - a lot of steps up to the top!! Szentendre was a wonderful, picturesque city with lots of unique shops. All in all, a bit pricey.
Nora, our guide, was engaging, informative and simply delightful. We loved her energy and thoughtful insights about the areas we visited.
Susan was wonderful! We learned way more about the local history than any other guide we had for city tours!
We had a wonderful tour with Susan. Her knowledge of history was quite impressive and the way she told it made it interesting for all of us. She pointed out Roman ruins along the way and gave an excellent tour of Visegrad Castle. The views of the Danube bend from the top were quite beautiful. We then headed to Szentendre for the tasting and lunch. We tried a dry white, a dry red, a dessert wine, and a unique Hungarian liquor in a 200 year old wine cellar. We learned a bit about Hungary’s different wine regions as well. The restaurant was able to accommodate vegetarians and had delicious garlic soup! Susan gave us time to explore the old town after lunch and pointed out a few unique shops before letting us go off on our own. Highly recommend this tour if you want to see something outside of Budapest on your stay.
My friend and I really enjoyed this day out. While the wine tasting wasn’t as extensive as I expected and we spent more time at the castle, we received a great history lesson from our guide and the wines we did try at the National Wine Museum were delicious and came with interesting tales. I’d recommend this if you’re looking to get out of Budapest for the day and see/taste more of the surrounding area.
Our guide Sophie was incredibly friendly and very helpful. She made the tour interesting and fun. The reason for 3 and not five stars was the meal and wine tasting portion of the day, the part we felt was most important and the focus of the trip, was completely unsatisfactory. The food was old age home bland chicken with bland rice and potatoes. Not exactly the gourmet lunch advertised. Was this really a foodie tour? The meal was preselected for us. It would have been better if we could have selected from the menu. In addition, there were many better restaurants in the town from which to choose. The wine tasting was limited to one red, one white, and one aperitif. Not exactly a comparative tasting at all. Hungary has 22 different grapes. We tried only one. I would not recommend this tour unless the food and wine were significantly upgraded.
Great tour of two beautiful and very different locations just outside of Budapest. Attila was extremely knowledge and accommodating. Lunch was delicious.
Our guide Susan, she was so informative and took great care of us. This tour was a highlight of our trip.
We had a wonderful tour with Mr. Steve, who guided us to a very interesting and magic visit into the history of Hungary at Visegrád castle and in the small city of Szentendre, both outside the big Budapest. Steve is a very experienced, communicative, friendly and patient guide, who we fully recommend. This tour offers you the possibility to deep dive into the castle and surroundings as well as have a traditional 3-course Hungarian lunch with a wine taste of a selection of Hungarian wines going through curious tales about the origin of the different wines. Then we had a short tour with Steve inside the wine cellar in the underground of the restaurant. The tour ends in the small village in Szentendre where you can have a walk, buy different kinds of souvenir, and also taste local food, such as the traditional Hungarian Langos. It was a very good experience and we were back to Budapest at around 16:00. I fully recommend if you want to go outside the ordinary tours inside the big Budapest and know more about the history of Hungary and the marvelous country side along Danube river.
Tom was a terrific guide. He knew the area and its history well and he was engaging and humorous. Tom was extremely accommodating to my disabled husband and made sure that he didn’t miss anything during this excursion. It was a long but wonderful day and I highly recommend this tour.
Our Tour Guide Zsuzsa was AMAZING. With her more than 40 years of experience she was by far the most knowledgeable tour guide we have ever had. The Wine Tasting and lunch was excellent.
What a fantastic day with our guide Nora! She was very informative, funny and friendly. This was a perfect way to see one part of the Hungarian countryside, Visegrad Castle and Szentendre artist village. We were also very lucky with the weather, we made marvelous pictures from the castle. The lunch was great with the wine tasting in the cellar.
Nora met us on time at our hotel and provided comfortable transportation for our tour of Szentendre and the Visegrad castle. Her English is very good and she spent a lot of the driving time with a great commentary of buildings, parks, and scenery in the area. The stop in Szentendre was quite nice. We felt as though the restaurant wasn't ready for our wine tasting and was a bit rushed, but the lunch itself was good. There was no menu to choose from, but what we had was delicious. Our small group greatly enjoyed the experience and recommend Nora as a guide if you want to see the sights outside the city.
Stephen was our guide and an excellent one too. He was so knowledgeable and spoke very good English. There was some great sights across the countryside and the river, as well as visiting the old medieval castle. Szentendre is quaint, with many little shops to enjoy. The lunch was very enjoyable and was followed by the wine tasting. I would certainly recommend this trip - request Stephen if you can
We had a great day of seeing the countryside, hearing history, walking in a medieval castle, eating a delicious lunch, followed by wine tasting in the caves.
Nora was very good and knowledgeable but it seemed we spent most of our time in the car, which I suppose you must do in such a trip. The town we visited was charming and I would have enjoyed a bit more of a tour and more time there. The wine tasting was excellent but the lunch was too much food. It seemed the trip ended a little earlier than advertised. However, I would highly recommend this guide and this trip to see a little outside of Budapest.
Excellent day with Nora! From the prompt pick up, traveling the countryside, interesting sights and history, delicious lunch and wine tasting, we enjoyed a lovely day. Nora loves her job and her country!
Budapest is a noisy, bustling metropolis. This tour allowed us to see the countryside and to experience Hungarian wines. Our guide, Nora, was friendly and communicated in English quite well.
Susan drove us to Visegrad Castle and Szentendre and she was an excellent tour guide of both. Our tour included a most interesting wine tasting and delicious lunch in Szentendre. She was very informative and we enjoyed talking to her about the area. I would strongly recommend her to anyone wishing to have an informative day in these areas.
Our guide Nora was very knowledgeable and engaged. Our party was six adults, all family. The van was very comfortable and Nora was right on time picking us up at our hotel. We did hit a major delay (total of sixty minutes) on our way to and from Visegrad due to roadway maintenance. This delay caused what we believed was a truncated Visit to Szentendre. Other than a walk to the town center, wine tasting and lunch there was no time to visit the museum nor do more than a quick shop to purchase some locally crafted items. We were also disappointed that the tour we signed up for clearly included a boat ride (starting in May) on the Danube, something that did not happen. Bottom line, a lot of time driving in a van including major delays due to single lane traffic around paving operations to tour the citadel in Visegrad and a shortened visit to Szentendre.
Great, informative, historical tour with an amazing tour guide! We had a lovely day in the Danube bend with Susan, she was so friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the day, if you want to do a half day trip in the countryside, Danube bend is a must!
Brilliant! Nora was a great guide and she made our trip enjoyable. The local landscape in the Danube bend was amazing, we learned a lot about the Hungarian history. The lunch was served in a fantastic wine cellar and Nora talked about the uniqueness of the wine varieties.
We had a great time with Nora. She picked us up at our hotel. She was amazingly knowledgeable, personable and funny. Great wine, fabulous lunch, an excellent day! We highly recommend it to anyone!!!
This was a perfect day! Our Guide (Nora) gave us a lot of information about the history and about the hungarians wines. She had a funny sense of humor and was very knowledgeable. We had a lunch with wine tasting in a authentic restaurant we enjoyed it so much. Thank you for the great day. I hope you will see my words. Highly recommended
