What service??? Had booked for the trip on Friday… waited outside the hotel for an hour and bus didn’t turn up! No communication at all. So after forty minutes on phone got a refund (we hope!). Had to ring a London number as couldn’t get through on number provided. Royal, our “guide” turned up with a sniffly cold. Picked up customers with barely a “hello”. Was a frightening driver. Drove with three fingers on the steering wheel and a tissue in the other on a rainy highway…Got pulled over by Austrian police for not having a toll road sticker…He was extremely unenthusiastic and bored. We got no water and “Local snacks” were two biscuits straight from his sweaty hands!!! After having a tissue in his hand all day… yuck! Then he didn’t even say thank you or goodbye when he dropped his passengers off at the end of the tour!!! Disgraceful! Vienna and Bratislava were beautiful. Viator gave us a £66 partial refund…

An excellent way to get a taste of Central Europe in a day! Our driver guide Filip made the trip fun and special. He gave great tips and recommendations, he was very knowledgeable and made us feel safe the whole time. I was a solo traveller in a small group of 8 and felt comfortable the whole time. I appreciated the excellent communication by both the tour company and our driver guide and the ease of being picked up and dropped off at my hostel. A long but wonderful day!
Pick up at our hotel was punctual. Our guide, Royal, was warm and welcoming and did everything to make sure everyone in our tour group was comfortable. He was very knowledgeable about all destinations and made great recommendations about sightseeing and places to eat local delicacies. I would highly recommend this tour.
It's a long day, about 13.5 hours, but it gets you to two different countries from Budapest, which is pretty great. You have about 2.5 hours of free time at each location, along with a quick stop at a palace/castle at each. Our driver Lucky was pretty personable, so all in all, a pretty solid day trip.
I DID NOT GO. My trip was programmed for October 15. On Oct 14, I received a message that my tour guide have had an accident and would change the trip for the 16. Since Oct 14, I have been trying to get a refund, stating that I COULD NOT MAKE IT THE 16. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY REFUND YET. I have complied in every sense, these people are irresponsible and non professional.
This trip did not go well. The driver was late; the car was cramped with 8 customers. Most importantly, although friendly, the driver and his colleague provided no information about the stops, cities or how the trip would go. We had to ask for water, when we would stop, when to be back to the car, etc. They provided so little and seemed new to the whole experience. We essentially paid for a driver with minimal English who was new on the job. We were late getting back but glad the whole excursion was over.
Prepare for a full day! Bratislava historic district was beautiful with a tour and time to get a coffee and soak in the atmosphere. Same with Vienna, although much larger, we had time to visit St Stephen’s and the opera house and have an apple strudel. Martin led a fun- filled trip!
This is a quick way to get a feel of Vienna and Bratislava without the hassle of public transportation. It give opportunities to decide if you want to go back and explore the cities more. Since this is not a guided tour, one recommendation is to plan a 2hr self guided tour of each city before you get there. Of course, your driver will give recommendations but to make the most of your time, plan for what you will do in each city in advance. This will make it enjoyable. Pickup and drop-off are great. Drive was uneventful, not much to see on the highway.
Our trip was fantastic! Ahmed made it enjoyable and entertaining. We also learned a lot about the history of these cities and he was open to our many questions. He shared local foods, gave us ideas about where to eat authentic foods and we loved sharing sliwowitz with him. Outstanding! Nostrovia!
I had a great day trip to Bratislava and Vienna with Filip! Prompt pick-up from my hotel, snacks and water along the way, information about each city, and recommendations of places to see in the city centers. As a small group of eight in a comfortable van, the drive was smooth and felt personalized. My friends were with another group leader/van, and their experience was not the same, so please ask for Filip! 😊
It started with my mistake of entering the wrong hotel (I had the sister hotel next to mine listed). I tried to communicate via WhatsApp messenger that I was at the different hotel and traveling with 4 others. It sort of sounded like it was taken care of but because it was only a bot, I wasn’t with the people I wanted to travel with. One friend switched with me and went in the other van, while I stayed with 3 friends to make a total of 4 in our friend group. So, the communication process needs to be updating at the beginning. Now on to the “tour”. What we really had was a driver - no information given out ahead of our arrivals at rest stops or sights. We didn’t receive the food or snack until we asked. So much time spent on the road vs what we actually saw in Bratislava and Vienna. Not all the fault of the tour company as we did have traffic delays, but some of that time should guesstimated as head of time. We would’ve been better off taking the train for a,cheaper price.
Unfortunately our guide did not communicate to our group. We stopped for a break and wasn’t told the expectations. We had to ask him how long and what we were doing. He did not give information along the way and the other guide who had a group too informed a few people but not the groups as a whole. Snacks and water were not provided until we asked about them. The amount of time spent in the vehicle was 10 hrs and only 4 hrs total in the cities.
Excellent experience where you get to visit 2 countries, Vienna and Bratislava, in the same day from Budapeste. Our guide Martin was excellent. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time.
It was a really great trip. Martin our guide was superb. The vehicle was super comfortable, other travelers were really friendly and I would recommend this trip to anyone. Thankyou.
Our driver Roale was fabulous. I wish we had just stayed the night in Vienna. The van was crammed. I think they should have skipped the castles. All you could see was the outside. Not enough time to go in. Really need more time in Vienna. Bratislava was a nice visit only need about an hour and half to see church and square. The wine on the bridge was a nice treat overlooking city.
I cancelled 24 hours prior to due to system flights being down and un able to make tour. I contacted the tour agent a viator both prior and i was never cancelled. I message for 3 days and kept getting a different agent requesting the same information. This was intentional to keep my $200 usd.
A very nice tour and a great day! Many nice things to see, The driver and guide, Timko, was excellent.
The tour was excellent. Our guide, Martin, spoke very clear and was very knowledgeable about the places we’ve been to. Lots of fun facts with some more serious notes.
What a great day!. Philip was a great guide, very informative. Great communication on pick up. A long drive but worth it and we had plenty of time to explore as well. Nothing was rushed. Highly recommend the trip as well as Philip
We had an amazing day, it was a great experience moving between 3 different capitals in ine day, thank you ❤️
A fair amount of driving especially with road construction this time of year. A good way to see a little of Vienna and Bratislava without actually staying there. Timko was a great guide and driver. A long day but was worth the trip.
Martin was a great guide and made sure we had a great day! We learned a lot about both cities and had time to explore them ourselves, highly recommend!
We wanted to see other cities while in Budapest and this activity provided the best opportunity. Bio, our driver was wonderful. Picked us right on time. It was a small group, only eight of us, which allow for a more one on one experience. Bio was full of great information, did cities tours at each stop, then allowed plenty of time for us to explore on our own, tour, shop and grab a bit to eat. It was long but wonderful day. Would highly recommend as a way to explore Vienna and Bratislava (our favorite).
Our driver was very friendly and picked us up at our hotel. Snacks/ water were provided throughout the trip with a fun surprise at the end. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took us to some beautiful places still allowing for free time giving his recommendations on what to eat and where to go. The transport van itself was lovely and had amazing air con on the european heat wave we experienced.
Out guide Timko was the best! He made sure we were all taken care of of and got us safetly to each destination. Vienna was gorgeous and we had time to explore on our own after Timko showed us a few stops. Bratislava was another beautiful city. We had some rain storms to deal with but made it through. Stopped for a great view and a traditional Slovakia toast! Had an amazing day!
Such a disappointment. The driver never showed up. I was getting reminder messages from Viator about this trip and then the local operator never showed. I contacted Viator who tried to contact the local operator to no avail. Now I have to wait to see if I get refunded?!. Like what the actual hell. I bought in Good faith and now there may be a question of a refund? I’m not sure. I have purchased from Viator many times in many countries without a problem. I purchased this tour weeks ago. This is unacceptable. Be wary.
Fabulous driver/ guide Ahmed. Great value for money. Highly recommend.
What a great day. Lots to see and a very relaxed itinerary with plenty free time in each destination to do what you want, rather than following a guide everywhere. Will really suit an independent traveller. Our guide Ahmed was a delightful host. Funny, friendly and informative. I really enjoyed the day in his company.
The day was long - 14+hours! It was nice to see the old towns of Vienna and Bratislava. I recommend it, just be prepared for a long day!
The tour was great! Ahmed was a great guide and pick up was easy.
Philip was very knowledgeable and shared information about the places we visited as well as answering all the questions we asked. We had a wonderful day exploring.
Great experience with Ahmed who made the whole trip so enjoyable. It was amazing to see a couple of iconic cities on the same day and get ideas for future city breaks. It was a long day but absolutely worth it
Don't book this trip with this company. Once we paid the money ther we was no communication. We had a last minute change of hotel, for the 36hrs before the tour we msgd the company at least a dz times to let them know our new address for pick up, they never responded! We also emailed a couple of times still no reply! We went to bed not knowing which hotel they'd go to so we decided one would wait at one hotel & the other the 2nd hotel. Very inconvenient as one was a bit of a walk. But we then wake just after 6am, after a terrible sleep worrying, on day of the tour only to have an email saying tour cancelled!! Apparently the driver had a car accident, in his personal car, the previous night. Thankfully he wasn't hurt. But 1) if he wasn't hurt why was he unable to drive the bus or B) surely they have more than one driver if he was too distressed! If we could we would give it a no star rating!!
Our guide, Filip, picked us up bright and early from our hotel. There were 8 of us altogether on the tour and we were transported in a comfortable 9 seater mini van. Filip was friendly and happily answered questions as well as telling us the history of each place we went. He also kindly provided water, snacks and stops for comfort breaks along the way. My husband has a disability and Filip very kindly helped him when we encountered some stairs without a handrail, meaning we could fully participate. If I was returning to Budapest I wouldn't hesitate to book this or a similar tour offered by this company, we had the absolute best day!
The local tour guide canceled the tour. Don’t know if the excuse was real. But our tour was canceled.
The van was a bit cramped. Overall not a bad excursion. There was a last minute change due to an accident the day prior to our trip.
Following an accident the day before with our scheduled driver, the guys behind the scenes did their upmost to find a replacement so not to cancel. Our replacement, Filip, could not have been better! On what is a long and by the end tiring whistelstop tour of the 3 cities, he was knowledgeable, funny and conscientious. A dy we will not forget for a very long time! Thanks again for everything Filip, and the Palinka!
Highly recommend this trip. Ahmed was a wonderful knowledgeable guide. He was polite and respectful while friendly towards everyone on the trip. He ensured everyone had plenty of time to explore at each stop after giving us information about the history of each place. Took the group to toilets at each stop close by.
Amazing experience! I went with my friend and we had a great time. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable.
We had a great tour guide who went above and beyond his duties. Spoke excellent English felt very comfortable and he had wide knowledge of the areas. Excellent Martin !
From start to finish a great experience Confirmation emails, reminders, arcades. Excellent communication
The tour to Vienne and Bratislava was a wonderful experience. The guide called Ahmed from West Bank is a guide well educated, gentle. His driving skills were so good and he gave to us several times during the trip candies, choco, water, wc, etc. I strongly recommend this tour w/ Ahmed. The tour language is english but he speaks “some words” in other languages. Rafael Paderni from Miami
I will highly recommend this trip. It was an early start from Budapest. After pick ups, for me it was 3 groups including me, total 8 of us. The van was clean. First stop was the Belvedere museum in Vienna which has a lovely garden. Then, Vienna old town. After a few hours, we weee taken to the Bratislava Castle, then the old town. Before returning back to Budapest. And want to say thank you to friendly and approachable Ahmed for looking after us. Great explanation on history of each site. Thank you for the local snacks and drinks. Thank you for turning up on time.
Gave me a pickup time an hour earlier than advertised a mere 9 hours before the tour so I lost the option to cancel, then ignored myself and Viator upon asking for a refund because it was not as advertised. Was finally contacted at almost 11pm and they offered to change it by 10 minutes. Again, I declined and after several messages they said they’d pick me up at the advertised time and did not respond to further messages. In the morning I asked for an update and was ignored until the pick up time, when I was forced to show up since they wouldn’t agree to a refund even after an awful exchange. Finally the guide replied and said he was outside, which was a lie. I had been outside since 5 minutes prior to the time as requested and no one had been there. They basically thought they could avoid the refund if I didn’t show and opted not to pick me up as they demanded to. I immediately replied to the guide that I was there and asked where he was several times. He saw my first message and stopped opening them - I can only guess to try and claim that I no-showed. I had been on chat with Viator again the entire time and the host ignored multiple calls from them. Absolutely do not recommend this tour - awful scam artists.
This day trip showed us a brief preview of Slovakia (Bratislava) and Austria (Vienna). The only thing is the road trip is about 2.5 hours from Budapest but it was definitely worth the drive. Our driver Filip was friendly and he showed us the eastern European hospitality. Our family really enjoyed the trip. Highly recommend!
Everything was excellent and very well organized. Ahmed is a great tour guide. I received a very memorable experience, and all my expectations were met
Great experience, were able to cover two Capitals in one day. Tour guide was great
Great driver/tour guide. Ahmed was both fun and informative. Loved both cities. Great history and food. The best!
This trip was well worth every penny! Martin our tour guide was on time to pick us up at the hotel (huge PLUS when picked up at hotel). Martin was very informative, friendly and patient. Would recommend this tour 💯 %❣️
Beware if any guests on your tour require pick ups outside the city center this will add extra drive time to get to your destination and back! There were 5 guests on my tour that required pick up outside the city center. It took extra time to complete the pick ups in the morning, and extra time to get back to our hotels. I was the first to be picked up at 7:20 AM and we didn’t complete the pick ups and get back on the main road till about 9:30 AM, 1.5 hrs after we were supposed to be on the main road and on our way to Vienna. And it took an extra hour to get back to Budapest from Bratislava, because our tour guide had to take roads off the main highway which took much longer. We left Bratislava at 9 PM and I didn’t get back to my hotel till about 12:15 AM. When I asked my tour guide why the other 5 guests couldn’t just meet us at a point in the city center, he said they didn’t want to “fight the morning traffic” and insisted they be picked up at a home outside the city center. So basically the other guests decided it was better to waste our time instead of theirs. I understand our tour guide was trying to be accommodating to everyone, but this accommodation was made at the expense of myself and the other paying customers on the tour. When we finally got to our first stop at Belvedere Gardens it was very uneventful. The tour itinerary says you’re supposed to get a “45 minute Guided tour in the Belvedere Gardens to give you information about the wonderful history of Austria and the region.” The tour was not 45 minutes it was more like 15 minutes. Our tour guide took us to center of the garden and pointed to the lower palace and then upper palace and just spewed off a few memorized facts about the gardens/palaces and that was it. He then gave us 25 minutes of free time to “walk around” which the gardens aren’t really that big so there really isn’t much to see. If you’re not touring the museum inside the palaces, it’s kind of pointless to go. I think a more meaningful use of time would’ve been to skip it, and have extra time in the city center. With that extra free time you could fit in something more eventful like an extra museum or a tour of the opera house. At the second stop in Bratislava, the tour itinerary says you’re supposed to get a “40-minute guided tour at Bratislava Castle.” Again here you don’t actually go inside the castle, we just walked on the grounds around it. Then the tour guide spewed off a few memorized facts once again and that was it. The whole educational experience was like 20 minutes. There are nice views of Bratislava from the Castle so you get that, but not much else. A better use of time would’ve been to skip it, or perhaps or have the option to skip it to get extra free time in the main square. You only get 2 hours of free time in Bratislava so by the time you sit down to eat dinner you maybe have an hour or so left to walk around which isn’t a lot of time. It’s a very charming main square and personally I would’ve enjoyed walking, shopping, and learning about the history that was there in the main square more. A few other things to note. The transportation was a small 9 seater van. So if you have 9 people on your tour you’re going to be crammed in there. My tour was full with 9 people, and I was traveling solo. It was very uncomfortable to have to sit right up against a stranger for hours traveling there and back. And I do mean, right up against. Arm to arm, leg to leg, we were literally crammed in there. The tour operator was clearly more concerned with selling as many tickets as possible, as opposed to tending to the comfort of their paying guests. Lastly, although our tour guide was very friendly and helpful to all guests, he was not a native Austrian/Hungarian/Slovakian. And this I believe took away from the experience. I would’ve preferred someone who is a native to the region whose family has lived on the land for many generations and could’ve provided a more in depth educational experience of the cities we visited.
