A fantastic tour by Royal. Great communication before the trip and on the day. We had Ahmed driving us back and he was great too. A brilliant day all round. Thank you
The guide Ahmed was very kind. He gave us the background history the cities and showed us some important places. Thank you Ahmed for the wonderful trip with you
Our day‑trip excursion to Vienna and Bratislava from Budapest through Viator was exceptional from start to finish. The Viator app was intuitive, easy to navigate, and made the booking process simple. I especially appreciated the regular updates leading up to the tour, which provided clarity and reassurance as the date approached. Our guide, Bio, was outstanding. He arrived on time, was consistently professional, and offered insightful commentary at each site that enriched the experience and deepened our understanding of both cities. His knowledge and attentiveness added meaningful value to the tour. Overall, Viator delivered a seamless, well‑organized, and memorable experience. I would recommend Viator to anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable day‑trip excursion to Vienna and Bratislava from Budapest.
It was a very long day, but so worth it! Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. One thing I appreciated was that he did not talk constantly during the long van ride!
Had a great time. Martin was a great guide. Thanks Martin , will remember the wine party in the parking area.
Very well organized tour. Our guide Martin was an excellent guide and driver and made the experience very pleasant.
The guide was absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable and very good communication skills. He knew all of the highlights and was able to point out interesting facts and interesting photo opportunities!!
It’s a full day of travelling but it’s all going to be worth it. Filip was prompt in picking me up from my hotel, was very courteous and friendly. He navigated the roads well while giving us information and factoids about our journey. At our stops, he provided historical background on the places we’re visiting, and gave us clear instructions on when and where to meet. He even gave us local treats. It was overall an amazing trip and I’d definitely recommend it. If you get Filip, even better!
this trip was a loong day but worth it. starting out at 8am, our small group, expertly driven by Filip headed to Bratislavia. Athough the capital of Slovakia, it has a small town feel. The old town area is small, but has plenty of shops & restaurants, My wife and I enjoyed a light lunch and wine. this was enjoyable but we had to leave as the next stop was Vienna in Austria. we visited the grounds of Belvedere Palace with its fountains and gardens. Here too, we went to the old town with its shops and many restaurants. This area is very crowded, but St Stephen’s cathedral is an impressive visit. Sadly our tour had to end as it is almost 3 hours back to Budapest. Our host and driver, Filip, was very knowledgeable and provided interesting facts and information. If you have a day to spend, it is worth it
This is a great way to have a taste of Vienna and Bratislava in a day! We had time to experience some of the highlights at both locations and obtain food. Comfort breaks were catered for and the driver was safe and considerate giving some information of the locations on our arrival. My only criticism would be that the minibus we were travelling in was full (8 people+driver) so not a particularly comfortable journey. In addition our tour guide chose not to give any information during the journey so we drove largely in silence.
Did not meet expectations as tour was not as described. Unfortunately, it rained most of the day and we encountered heavy traffic from Budapest to Vienna due to car accidents. Of course this was beyond control of Viator and the tour guide. Delayed getting tour started. We were not offered the water or snacks until we asked for it on a stop. Snack was a piece of chocolate. At our first destination in Vienna we joined another group on same tour. The guide from the other group was the only one who provided any info, which was limited. We did not have an hour guided tour of Vienna highlights. Belvedere a brief summary was given then on our own...for 35 min. Went to city centre. The Opera House was the only building pointed out. St Stephen's Cathedral mentioned when advising restaurants in the area. It was never mentioned that the tour details would be sent via Whatsapp, not from the tour guide. We did not have a 1.5 hour guided tour in Bratislava. At the castle, the guide spoke a few minutes overlooking the river then as we walked toward the back and by a statue, he walked at the front of the group speaking only to those next to him. We never saw or went to the Slavin Monument. Told us we could walk around and take photos. Went to Old Town and a couple of places were mentioned (The Blue Church) but not St Martin's or the option to go to top of Old Town tower for view. Were late returning to Budapest. I do not think this tour was worth the price and do not recommend. Perhaps other tour groups that day had a more positive experience. Previous tours I have been on, the tour guide used some of the driving time to prepare us for the destination....overview of city, key things to see, etc. Our guide did not interact with us at all except when we asked for water and one chocolate snack. They really just provided transportation and we did the tour ourselves based on info provided in Whatsapp.
A fabulous tour. If possible I would give it 6 stars. The original guide was involved in an accident yet the company was able to come up with a replacement and not cancel the tour. There was free time in Bratislava and in Vienna. Would have been even better if Bratislava was half an hour shorter, adding it to Vienna.
This is a very fast paced trip. It is a good introduction to Vienna and Bratislava. There was time to explore both cities and take numerous photos. We really enjoyed the experience.
A day trip to Vienna and Bratislava from Budapest. A busy day but worth while. This trip gives you a flavour of both capital cities, which will tempt you to visit these cities again. The guide/driver Martin Ebringer is the friendliest person ever. Knowledgeable and very engaging. He puts his heart in these trips to make it a memorable trip. 100% recommended.
From start to finish this trip was fantastic and the guide Filip was amazing Very informative, friendly and nothing was too much trouble A good way to get to visit two beautiful places
Great way to visit two interesting - but contrasting - cities in one day. We were picked up from our Airbnb early morning and dropped off there 13 hours later! Ahmad was an excellent guide and there was a good mix of organised tours and “free time” to sample local cuisine and take in the sights in Bratislava and Vienna.
This was an amazing way to see and hear about the other two capitals and their history. It gave you a taste of each place with enough free time to explore at your own pace. Martin was outstanding with information and keeping us informed of all meeting points and times. Would highly recommend!
This tour makes for a very long day, we were gone 13+ hours. 9 persons including driver/tour guide, in a 9 passenger van which was a little cramped. The idea of seeing two capitals in two countries was enticing, but the reality is it's too much for one day. That said, what we saw in Bratislava and Vienna was beautiful and should we go back we would definitely spend more time there.
This was a fun, leisurely trip to see two great capitals! The itinerary was excellent - a good balance of guided and free exploring. Our guide Ahmed was attentive and knowledgeable. Just a warning that the Viator app may give you some strange notifications about your pickup spot, but the company communicates at least 24 hours before for confirmation.
Ahmed was very kind and attentive to us. He provided both knowledge about the places we visited and proved to be a superb driver. Upon my request he took us to the Blue Church that wasn’t on the scheduled tour, therefore saving us a long walk. Bratislava was a fun city to see and plenty of time to experience. He transported us and our luggage to Vienna from Budapest and he was on time to pick us up from our hotel. After our time in Vienna he dropped us at our hotel. Great tour and transportation.
It was a long drive so just be prepared. Van had good air conditioner so that was great. Marvin was great
All was great! Special thanks for providing details in Watsupp and that the drive contacted there with the exact pick up time so you not worry about it. The whole trip and program was great! Perfect timing to walk around cities, even got time to visit the art gallery and pub! Extra tanks to our guide Martin E. for interesting stories, history, local tastes, recommendations and timing.
Had a great time on my tour, Martin was a great guide. The tour was completed in English and Spanish. Martin gave great information during the guided parts of the tour and made sure to communicate clearly when free time was and when and where to meet back up.
Plenty of free time in both countries. Guide Bio good with WhatsApp guides and info provided including map to make it easy to get back to meeting point. Just the right amount of history given - some guides give far too much. A lot of time driving but well worth it. One recommendation - larger people need larger seats to avoid encroaching on others personal space!
Ahmed was an excellent guide, with knowledge and humour. During our free time he sent links for points of interest, options for lunch, and where to meet for the pickup.
Amazing trip, our guide Ahmed was a fantastic tour guide. We were able to see everything we wanted to see, in the time frame we had. I would suggest this trip!
Absolutely fabulous day out, with a great bunch of people thank you to our driver and guide Filip xx
A very well organised day trip. Pick up was from our hotel and they messaged us the day before to confirm time. There were 8 of us in (a lovely brand new) van. Ahmed was brilliant - very knowledgable. The journey was long but smooth with rest rooms identified at every stop . The short tours in Bratislava and Vienna were perfect and Ahmed then gave us a list of suggestions for our free time in each city. There was enough free time to see everything we wanted. Ahmed kept us hydrated and also gave us some chocolates and wafer biscuits. I was apprehensive that it would all be too much to do in one day but I was wrong! We had 2 teens with us and they also really enjoyed it. We were picked up just before 8am and were back to our hotel for 9pm - tired but had a fabulous day out. Thank-you Ahmed
You have to put a lot in a day, but it is a great opportunity to see both Vienna and Bratislava. It is a bit of a teaser to help you decide if you wish to return.Bio was friendly, helpful anz patient.
Excellent but long day. Very good chance to have a taster of Bratislava and Vienna. Visit includes a short stop and then a long free time elsewhere in each location. I was a little nervous as can be difficult to find toilets in these kind of places but each one has somewhere which you can use contactless like McDonald's A bit of a relief in many ways. Great communication and no chance of getting lost with WhatsApp ideas and places to visit at each location as well as where to meet up again and you can call or message if there are any issues at all. Would highly recommend
The best thing about taking this day long, small group tour is you start out with a group of 8 strangers and end up sharing stories, and laughing with new friends.- At trip’s end, exchanging contact info and hugging your new friends.
One of the best trips I have had travelling solo. BIO is a passionate and friendly guide with so much knowledge and information. Will definitely recommend.
This was a long and tiring day. But superbly organised and we had quite a lot of time in Vienna and Bratislava. Martin was lovely and knowledgeable. Really recommend this.
The experience takes all day, so be prepared for discovering many different and interesting things! I loved it, and there was a good division between time with the group and time to explore on your own. Very professional, and I enjoyed myself a lot! Will recommend 100%!
Amazing day trip to Vienna and Bratislava with Martin! Very professional, friendly and knowledgeable guide. Everything was smooth, well organized, and the atmosphere was great throughout the day. Highly recommend!
This was full day trip but very smooth comfortable and joyful. Whith complimentary wine in the end was bonus
