Naomi was wonderful and super knowledgeable. I wish I could bring her everywhere I go to tell me more about the history of Hungary. Just phenomenal!

Our guide, Dominic, was great! He was so friendly, funny, personable, and made the tour even more interesting. He was very knowledgeable and answered everyone’s questions. The basilica is beautiful and has a great history, especially in regard to the construction of it. Going up to the terrace offers great views of all around the city. The treasury has some relics and more information about the church itself. St. Stephen’s Basilica is a definite must see while in Budapest. It is also beautiful at night when it’s lit up.
This is an in depth tour of the Basilica. Guide was excellent and provided full explanations for the many frescos and statues. Highly recommend going to the terrace. Fantastic views of the city!
Our guide was well educated, she knew the in and outs of St. Stephen church. We did the add on of the dome, whio we thought that was an excellent addition.
Very knowledgeable guide made the tour very interesting. Saw all the interesting chapels and statues, including the relic
The guide loved her job and played guessing games with the visitors. It was informative and fun! Don’t miss it
Great tour. Recommend the tower! The views are amazing from the top. And if you are lucky, you might get to see a wedding ceremony.
Outstanding tour guide, very knowledgeable, animated and friendly. The Basilica is beautiful. We did the optional dome tour which is definitely worth the incremental cost.
This was a great tour with lots of great data provided. Worth having a tour guide, as the visit is more memorable.
This was an amazing tour which was not hurried. We had time to make photos and ask questions. Locating the guide was also very easy to do! There was an elevator for those who could not climb up to the dome. Perfect views of Budapest!
MONICA our God was so great. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and we learned so much. Highly recommend.as traveling from the US
Cathedral is beautiful but quite small and you can see everything on the main floor within a few minutes. I feel they shouldn't be charging, at least not so much. Maybe because I have seen several other grand cathedrals for free
Fascinating history of Hungary, St. Stephen, and the unique elements of Catholicism in this country. Stunningly beautiful church. Incredible views from the dome.
Its so beautiful. Definitely worth a visit.
Definitely worth paying the extra for a guided tour Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable Would highly recommend
Great tour inside the basilica. Our tour guide was very good with sharing information. It was our first day in Budapest, after flying all night so we were a bit "punchy" but the tour was nice. We were there during an incredible heat wave so it was a bit uncomfortable inside but very lovely.
Julia is an excellent guide with many insights. The problem is that the place is not accessible for people having difficulty in climbing stairs
The church is amazingly beautiful. The tour was very informative. The only downside was that at times it was difficult to understand or hear her. Headset would have been a plus.
We booked 4 timed entry tickets online through Viator for Sunday at 9:00 AM and received confirmation. When we arrived the church was closed for liturgical services until 1:00 PM so we couldn’t enter. We had other plans in the afternoon so could not return at 1:00 PM It was a struggle over several days to get a refund. Viator blamed the church ticketing office and St Stephan’s blamed Viator. Not fun.
Friendly and informative. Wonderful tour of the Basilica but also very informative about the history of Budapest its inhabitants and Hungary in general. Katalin also knew loads about the British Film Industry!
We very much enjoyed our tour with Petra. She was so knowledgeable, entertaining, passionate about the history of her country and the basilica! She included lots of os historical stories that made our tour fun. Highly recommended
Meeting up with the tour guide was a challenge as the meeting place assigned was in front of ticket office that sold tickets for the same event. The guide did not have on any attire indicating she was a guide or nothing on her sign she pulled out of her bag that said Basilica tour. It was raining and we stood in line attempting to locate the person. Once inside the Basilica she was knowledgeable. We have been on better organized tours with Viator and that's why we continue to use them, not all can be winners.
A must do tour. The inside of the Basalica is amazing. Our guide Alexandria was very knowledgeable and spike fluent English.
A wonderful place to visit, so ornate. The Organist was playing Handel, then we heard Jingle Bells floating across the centre of the Basilica, much appreciated by all of the visitors. A reduced rate ticket- over 65- was around £4.50 (2000 Huf) We spent about an hour inside, admiring the architecture, Sculpture & stained glass windows. Time well spent.
Great tour , the guide was great, very knowledgeable and informative, gave lots of insight into both the basilica and the country
Julia was wonderful! Charming, funny and knowledgeable. St. Stephen's Basilica is probably the most opulent church I’ve toured in my travels.
Lot of steps to get to the top of the church you can do the lift but still quite a few steps after the lift stops, but amazing views from the top
Good history and background explanation of the church, and walked us to each corners to explain more. Must include the attic tour.
This is a wonderful skip the line private tour. It was 5 of us and the guide was amazing. Make sure to do this tour if you visit Budapest.
St. Stephen's Church is Beautiful. Our guide was great Julia was great. Had a little confusion with tickets but she fixed them with no hesitation :)
A light tour in beautiful church with a lot of history in it. The guid is so friendly , Gold plated interior It has a huge organ. I liked the panorama look out at top of it . Don’t worry there are lefts
It was a beautiful church with lots of interesting history. Our tour guide was very knowledgable. Great view of city.
We had an amazing tour of the basilica today with Petra. She was an amazing tour guide and gave us so much information not only about the cathedral, but also about the history of Hungary. She was clear, and concise. She was like a family member. What a great tour guide.
Some stairs involved, however, the elevator made it easier to make our way to the top and take in the breathtaking panoramic view of the city. Our tour guide was amazing; it felt like we were lifelong friends!
The tour was very interesting and informative. Our guide was Julia and she was well prepared to give details on the history of the cathedral with religious context. We had our tour on a unique day where back-to-back weddings were taking place! We understand that this meant the tour had to be adapted and Julia had to explain things outside of the cathedral instead of inside. Viewing the cathedral all around on the outside was good but ultimately we booked to view the beauty on the inside. Viewing from the outside we could do in our own time. It would have been nice to visit the tower and treasury in the meantime, so we weren’t standing around to absorb all the details. At times it felt like we were back at school with the quizzing. I don’t mind a more conversational approach but there’s a lot we don’t know about the history and are here to learn! It was great to see the lovely couple come out of the cathedral before we went in to have a look. Julia knows her stuff and we appreciate the tour she gave!
Very interesting and informative tour. Our guide was very friendly and pleasant with lots of interesting facts and anecdotes about the Basilica and Hungarian history.
Julia took her time. Gave good information. And asked the guests questions. She showed us to the tower lift and the treasury. Made everything understandable with a personal touch.
Julia was a very informative and engaging tour guide. The Basilica was extremely beautiful. It was helpful to have a guide so you could learn about what you were looking at
Interior of the basilica is astonishing and we were taken around it by a friendly and knowledgeable guide.
Our tour guide was knowledgable and personable. I would recommend a tour of this cathedral as it has many interesting and unique historical parts.
Petra was WONDERFUL. That said, I don’t think a guided tour was necessary. Spent probably 2x there than needed. It’s beautiful….and the view from the top is a must. It was brutally hot. We waited an extra 15 minutes for some no-shows….while that’s nice, they made no contact so we should have started 5 minutes max. Would suggest cutting back to 30 minutes. Still a great experience.
Inside is fantastic, didn't take the stairs to go down and see the treasure To warm that day? But did go up to the tower staircase wasn't too bad. They were a bit narrow.
We really enjoyed our tour, the guide was very relaxed and friendly, but informative. There were 6 people on our tour which was ideal
The guide wasn’t feeling well but she still did a lovely job on the tour. She apologized for being late and not having the sign we were to look for but she made an effort to find all the participants and gather us.
Our guide was informative, knowledgeable, and prepared. Her passion for giving us great information was exceptional. We all enjoyed it. My husband and friends all felt the same way.
A beautiful Basilica, definitely a 'must see'. Our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. Don't forget to book the option with the Treasury and Dome, there's a lift!! Well worth seeing and hearing the history behind it.
One of the most beautiful churches we have ever seen!! Great tour with a lovely guide. One time and on point.
The church is beautiful and the view from the panoramic balcony was definitely worth the short climb The guide was quite knowledgable and interesting but I would like liked a little information about how the church was impacted during WWII. That wasn’t covered yet I think it was a significant event.
We were happy we got an opportunity to visit this very beautiful church. Definetly a must see in Budapest. We were lucky to get a good guide Rosy, who described ecery thing well.
Very good guide. She combined a great deal of information and delivered it with humour. Really enjoyed it and learnt lots.
