Itinerary
Perched on Castle Hill, Buda Castle dominates the skyline on the Buda side of the river. This historic palace complex was home to Hungarian kings for centuries and now houses museums and galleries. It’s beautifully lit at night and clearly visible from the boat.
This sleek white suspension bridge connects the city across the Danube with a modern design that contrasts with Budapest’s historic architecture. Named after Queen Elisabeth (“Sisi”), it offers a beautiful view from the water, especially when lit up at night.
Rising high above the Danube, Gellért Hill offers panoramic views of the entire city. It’s home to the Citadel fortress and the Liberty Statue, both visible from the river. At night, the hill glows with lights and adds drama to the Buda skyline.
Built in the 16th century during the Ottoman era, Rudas Bath is one of Budapest’s oldest thermal spas. Its distinctive dome and riverside location make it easy to spot from the boat. The bath is still in use today, known for its healing waters and rooftop pool.
This green steel bridge connects the Great Market Hall on the Pest side with Gellért Hill and the famous baths on the Buda side. Built in the late 19th century, it features ornate turrets and decorative elements, and it’s especially striking when illuminated at night.
Housed in an elegant neo-Renaissance building along the Danube, Corvinus University is one of Hungary’s top institutions. Its grand facade faces the river near Liberty Bridge, making it a notable sight from the boat, especially when lit up in the evening.
This large, colorful building near the Liberty Bridge is Budapest’s oldest and most famous indoor market. Its Zsolnay-tiled roof and grand structure stand out along the river. Though not directly on the waterfront, it’s easily visible from the boat.
Budapest’s most iconic bridge, the Chain Bridge links Buda and Pest with its grand stone arches and suspension chains. At each end stand massive stone lion statues, guarding the entrance since 1852. The bridge is beautifully illuminated in the evening.
A stunning example of Art Nouveau architecture, Gresham Palace sits at the foot of the Chain Bridge on the Pest side. Once an insurance company headquarters, it now hosts the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel and shines beautifully at night.
Travelers will get a stunning view of the Parliament Building from the river. This Gothic Revival masterpiece is one of Budapest’s most famous landmarks, with its grand dome, spires, and riverside location. It looks especially breathtaking when illuminated at night.
This elegant yellow bridge connects Margaret Island with both sides of the city. From the boat, travelers can admire its unique Y-shape and iron structure, beautifully lit at night. It’s one of Budapest’s most iconic and historic bridges, completed in the 19th century.
From the boat, travelers will enjoy panoramic views of Margaret Island, one of Budapest’s most peaceful green spaces. The island is located in the middle of the Danube and is famous for its parks, musical fountain, medieval ruins, and running track. It's especially beautiful at sunset.
Travelers will spot the colorful roof and tall spire of Matthias Church high on the Buda side. This 13th-century Gothic church is a key landmark in the Castle District and stands next to Fisherman’s Bastion. Its illuminated facade is striking at night.
From the boat, guests can enjoy a postcard-perfect view of Fisherman’s Bastion, a fairytale-like terrace on the Buda side. With its white towers and panoramic lookout points, it offers stunning views over the city and is beautifully lit after dark.

Arrive early, queue along narrow path near jetty after having tickets scanned. It is basic but ideal to see the illuminated sights along the river
It was one of the best experiences of my life seeing the Iconic parliament and Hungarian parliament with my eyes! Thanks to viator🤗
It went like clockwork. The staff were nice. The cruise was good. Went at dusk and then watched everything come to life.
Would have been nice if the cruise was narrated. As we were passing beautiful buildings we didn’t know what we were looking at.
You have to come very early and make sure that you are waiting in the correct line because few different boats go from the same dock within minutes from each other. We didn't know that so we waited in the wrong line and then had to push through the huge crowd to make it in time for our boat. It seems like there is enough chairs on the rooftop for everybody, but make sure that you are one of the first people to enter the boat or you might end up sitting away from the person you came with. There was a couple where husband was sitting one row behind his wife because those were the only free seats when they came. Some people also went to sit inside for the same reason.
We loved the night cruise. What a great experience. The buildings look fantastic all lit up at night.
Beautiful experience seeing Budapest all lit up! This was an affordable way to do this without compromising your views, since rooftop seating is guaranteed. Would definitely recommend.
I would have given this 5 stars…they stated we’d have English Audio. We had no audio no a paper to identify the bridges and buildings. Disappointed they didn’t deliver.
On the rooftop of the boat, great views of the Budapest, especially Parliament House. Great you can bring your own drinks.
Saw all the sites at dusk. Plenty of outside seating. Good value for money and easy to find. Arrive early.
Enjoyable experience! The operators say get there early and you should so you can pick a good seat. Seats in the middle aisle of the boat do not offer direct line of site to take pictures. Both bathrooms were out of order but it was a short trip. We got amazing photos of the lot up buildings. Glad we did it!
Boat tour was great. Quick, easy and efficient. Saw all the highlights on the Danube. View of the parliament buildings at night was spectacular!
Yes!! Worth the money. Not expensive. Well organized and clear instructions. It is a must do in Budapest
The "cruise" is a very small boat; the booking is almost full on a Thursday night; the boarding was late and so was the starting time, and customers were lined up near the bank where there is no railing (very unsafe). Overall beautiful sights but very below average experience on board, and you are cheating yourself if you pick this due to price - you are better off spending a little more for a proper cruise.
They were so easy to come onboard with. We had a hard time finding a cab there, but we made it with 1 minute to spare and they were SO nice about it. Very easy going and our guaranteed rooftop seats were still available for us! 10/10 The parliament was stunning all lite up at night and the sparkling water dancing below was magical. This is a must-do activity while in Budapest.
A great alternative if you don’t want to drink or are picky or don’t want to waste time trying to get to the bar for free booze.
I booked this tour because it was very reasonably priced, left from a close location to our hotel, and received very good reviews. When we arrived, there were many people queued for another cruise, and we waited probably an extra 10 minutes for our boat to disembark and for us to embark. At first it seemed a bit chaotic and unorganized, and I was hesitant about actually getting the “guaranteed” rooftop seat. However, our embarkation was smooth, we left soon after everyone was on board and the patrons took their seats quickly and in an organized fashion. The tour was quiet and smooth - we sailed to the Green bridge and turned and went the other direction, turning before the Margaret bridge. It was so calm and somewhat surreal. The guests were quiet and respectful and the approximately 50 minute cruise was the perfect amount of time to see the sights. I had low expectations when we were standing in the queue to board but was pleasantly surprised by the clientele and the smoothness of the ride. Highly recommend. Location to board just south of the Chain Bridge is optimal. Budapest at night from the Danube is a sight to behold. Highlight was the birds flying above an illuminated Parliament.
Great way to see the main attractions from the water! Good value for the money and rooftop was the way to go. This is a great way to get out on the river without a high cost and enjoy the magic of the buildings all lit.
What a beautiful event, a must do when you are in Budapest. Good value for money. A rooftop seat was great and you could see all Budapest has to offer.
My sister and I booked this tour a couple of days in advance. The boat is nothing fancy but is all you need. No loud music just you and others enjoying the view. All rooftop seating but I think an area for if it is raining. We went just before sunset so we got to see everything lit up at night. I think watching sunset at Liberty Bridge and then going on tour after dark would be just as good. VERY easy to find. It’s the only boarding boat on the Buda side between Chain Bridge and Elizabeth bridge. BE SURE TO WATCH for email they send after booking. Apparently that is how you get audio guide because it is through your phone which requires you to use data. We did not get to use audio guide. I didn’t see the email they sent and wasn’t using data.
Great value for money - just the right amount of time on the river - all main attractions seen! Highly recommend.
You board the boat plug into the information which doesn’t come in any order so you just have to hope you connect the right information to where you are. Would be good to have prompts
We went on an unseasonably cold September evening. Easy to find the docking point and well organised boarding and seating. Trip was fine but would have been massively enhanced if there had been a commentary to tell us about the beautiful buildings, bridges, castles etc.like they have on the Hop-on tourist buses.
Excellent, restful 50 minute, good value trip along the Danube in the evening.
We had a wonderful night experience in Budapest! The city looks absolutely beautiful at night, especially with all the buildings and bridges beautifully lit up. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable, and seeing Budapest at night was truly memorable. Definitely a must-do experience when visiting Budapest!
Overall the experience was good. We saw all the buildings lit up, no trouble with the meeting point, boarding and off-boarding, etc. There was mention of some sort of audio guide on our phones in the advertisement for this activity if I'm not mistaken, we brought headphone, but there was no guide. Sure we could use Google to identify what each building was, but some sort guide would really make this better. Understand multi-lingual would be a hurdle.
Me and my partner absolutely loved this cruise, we decided to go for the time when the sun was just setting and the views could have not been any better. The staff were very friendly and polite.
A wonderful open-air boat trip, comfortably seated and very relaxed. If you're looking for a pleasant, quiet, and not overwhelmed ride, this is the best option I saw there. It's not a party boat; it's a peaceful boat to enjoy the beauty of Budapest. They don't play music, there are no flashy lights that are distracting at night, and even when full, everyone sits up high and no one bothers anyone. It departs promptly, and the time and route are perfect. We took the night cruise in August, and it was unforgettable.
It was great experience, everything is as described. Leaving on time, friendly staff and easy to find.
A nice, relaxing cruise along the Danube. The upper deck is accessible to everyone. Highly recommended.

We had a good time the boat was on time they don’t have bar you can take snack and drinks by yourself
My wife and me liked this boat tour very much! No annoying loud music or any other distractions, just spectacular views of Budapest and chance for romantic being with your beloved. Nice audio tour, clean restrooms, possibility to bring your own snacks and beverages, AND the best price in the market - just perfect experience. Thanks, guys!
Exactly what we were looking for! A nice quiet ride on the Danube, not super crowded so we had a great seat on the side of the boat. Saw all of the sights and we were able to bring our favorite drinks on board.
A kind, welcoming crew and a beautiful cruise ! A little boat, so no big crowds. We had to ask for the audio guide, but it was immediately given to us, with more information and anecdotes given by a crew/guide member ! You will need to have your own headphones, though.
Loved doing this at night. Skip the booze cruises and go with this ship where everybody can fit on the top of the ship and everyone has a great view of the city. You can bring your own alcohol if you want to have a glass of wine and the quality of the tour in the people on it is just fabulous without the extra booze running around
I lovely relaxed boat tour. We took the 20:50 tour, this was great just after sunset as the moon rose over the Danube which made fornsome lovely photos. You get to see all the major sights on the river, there is no commentary, but if you've done some quick research you will know all the major buildings to look out for. I'd recommend arriving 20-30 minutes beforehand.
The boat cruise was low key without all the dance music compared to other ships. The evening lights from Budapest were brilliant and the cost was very reasonable.
It was cold and no one told us that there is a possibility to go down inside. The view was nice but still no story was spoken on the microphone 🎤
10/10, it was such a beautiful experience!! I would come back again and again if I ever had the chance again, that’s for sure. 🐙
Basic as expected. No frills. A chair and a 50 min sailing trip. No guide no food . Again as expected and what I paid for. Worth mentioning the boat leaves and arrives from the Buda side
It was the most beautiful night-time cruise on a quiet and peaceful ship. The staff was kind and made sure no one skipped the line, which we really appreciated since we arrived first. Really worth the money. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone!
Such a great cruise! The convertible feel on the rooftop deck was absolutely amazing and the views were spectacular. Just a heads-up make sure to bring your own drinks or food because they don't sell anything onboard. I had rabbit soup prior to this, stopped at a local bakery nearby to grab a pastry, and finally grabbed a beer each of Dreher and Arany Ászok. Honestly the BYOB policy makes the whole experience so much more fun! Highly recommend! Happy traveling!
That it is a cruise as recommendable as any other on the Pest side. We liked it a lot, it looks spectacular.
Beautiful... and everything very interesting
A totally recommended experience, we left on time and took a trip along the river, we enjoyed the Budapest sunset. It is a basic boat with its chairs to enjoy the views, you can choose exterior or interior. I recommend it without a doubt
Dissatisfied with my experience. It does not offer a direct georeferenced point on Google Maps. I went well in advance and there was nothing at the site, so I made a mistake, walked more, and passed the area. Upon returning, there was no time left and the upper deck was practically full. The seats? Garden chairs that people moved around as they pleased. The funniest part, they send you a ticket with a QR code that nobody scanned. Due to lack of time, but I was tempted to go the next day to do it again for free if they continued not to verify tickets. The audio guide? I suppose it was through a website, but I didn't see any easy and accessible option to get it.
The cruise was nice and Budapest in the evening is wonderful with all the lights and the beautiful monuments. I gave three stars because I chose this cruise because there was the audio guide that they did not provide us instead.. So if you are looking for a cruise where there is all the information about what you are seeing, do not choose this one.
More economical cruise than others, it leaves from the Buda bank, between the Chain Bridge and the Sisi Bridge. Enjoyed it to the fullest, you can bring something to snack on and they offer an audio guide in different languages via a QR code on your phone (bring headphones). Unlike other cruises we saw, with music, lights, and people lining up to order at a bar, this is a quiet, calm cruise made for enjoying what matters, the very light of a city that, at night, is unique. Very pleasant staff, I would recommend it without hesitation.
