Krysztina was an excellent guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and knew her stuff. She paced the tour in such a way that we were able to spend a good amount of time at the highlights. The Parliament eas great. I highly recommend Krysztina and this tour. 31st
The tour is good but the guide’s microphone didn’t work outside the bus. So we missed a lot of info. Guide was very good for the info she provided on the bus or when we were close enough to hear. She felt very badly about the mic. I requested a partial refund from Cityrama, the tour operator. Travelers should know the guide doesn’t come inside the parliament anyway so it might be better to book that directly. Cityrama has not responded to my request. I will update if they do.
We had a great experience to explore the most exciting landmarks of Budapest with our guide Krisztina Teplan on September 24,2026. She tried with all her heart to convey to us her love and admiration for her city and the history of her people. We enjoyed it immensely and wanted to express our deep respect to Krisztina for her clear civic stance. And besides, she has heroically stood with us under the bad raining. 💖
Very interesting tour - our guide was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The trip to the castle and the parliament provided a great in depth of the events that shaped this country.
Just be aware of this tour. You board a large bus & are told about many buildings you pass & it is hard to see them out of the windows. You get a chance to get off 2 times to take some pictures. You then have to sit & wait 35 minutes for the Parliment tour to start - with nothing to do. The tour was 4.5 hours for us. So do not plan a flight or tour quickly after this. You pay for this tour at booking & it is non refundable. We would not pick this tour again.
This is a tour everyone visiting Budapest should take. You get to see all the major sites in both Buda and Pest, and also learn the history of this beautiful city. After seeing the Parliament Building magnificently lit up the night before on our boat ride, we really enjoyed touring the inside of the building. Our tour guide Esther was phenomenal!
Great overall tour of Budapest! Parliament building is beautiful inside and a must see tour when visiting.
The Guiding could have been better. It was also a large group and that did not make it any easier because you could not hear the Guide unless you were really close to her. Parliament building was interesting!!
Very easy to find the meeting place, checking in was easy, and on time. Our guide for the trip, Michael was very knowledgeable, we never felt rushed when we got to the difference parts of the trip. We felt it was good value for money. Although I would say that it says to take passports with you for the entry into the parliament building, we were not asked for them as we're not in the EU. so just check this before hand.
The tour has lots of informations but the nice guide English was difficult to follow . Some of the time was off. The tour was longer than expected when we had other commitments
Ben the guide was excellent. Some of the tour, you go by bus. Bus driver Chris also excellent.
good reliable transport to key areas of the city, great tour guide, very good historical and cultural context for major sites on both side of the Danube. Parliament tour at the end is a great way to finish.
Guide Ben was Phenomenal. Personable & knowledgeable!! Best guide in all my travels throughout Europe!
Did this very high level tour with my 80 year old Mom. It was great to minimize some walking. Great tour, especially the Parliament interior. Recommend!
Ben was excellent guide. Fast paced and explained things well. Got you over to Buda side which can be expensive to ride funicular
Returning guest on this trip from United States. Highly recommend. Our tour guide BEN was fantastic, knowledgeable friendly, and spoke perfect English. Highly recommend and you get Ben you are very lucky and in great hands.
Knowledgeable, comfortable bus was respite from the heat.
I had a really great time on the Grand City Tour with Cityrama! Our guide was awesome—really friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about Budapest. Instead of just listing facts, they shared interesting stories that made the history a lot more enjoyable. The views from Fisherman’s Bastion were incredible, and it was so nice to see places like St. Stephen’s Basilica and the Parliament up close. The tour was well organized, the pace was just right, and we got to see so much in a few hours. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re visiting Budapest and want a great introduction to the city!
Ester was a great tour guide. She was funny and knowledgeable. This is a great tour when the weather isn’t ideal. The air conditioned bus made it easy to endure the 100 degree heat.
Sonia was very good.It was a nice overview of the city with historical aspects included. Parliament House is beautiful.
Be abit early to the tour, it leaves on time. Don't worry if you're some distance from the starting point, Budapest's streets are easy to navigate and you can be anywhere within 15-20minutes walking, metro or rail. Recommend getting the GoBudapest app for travel, they offer 24hr, 72hr, etc access to the system - it also helps plan routes to get there (like Google) and you are paid up already! Our tour took us to the Buda Castle complex during peak time, gave us much history, tourist kitch and the time to take in the sites, grab food, drinks and then move through the beautiful neighborhoods to our next stop at Hero Square and finally to Parliament. Overall the tour was informative, timely and well prepared - recommend if you'd like to let someone keep you from lounging your day away in beautiful Budapest. On our visit, The Parliament tour ended about 15 minutes after the official time, but still gave us time to hit Sky Note Bar for lunch (reservations recommended) & drinks next to St Stephens Basillica. Great intro to the Jewel of the Danube!
Great tour with Sonja-we got lots of historical background along with the sites that we visited to help with context. Highlight of tour was visit to Parliament building-absolutely spectacular! All in all, great value for the money.
We thoroughly enjoyed the sights, the information and the tour guide. Would definitely recommend a full day!
Excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable. Interesting, good pace. Answered all questions. Highly recommend
Very easy tour, mostly taking a bus ride with short breaks at few monuments and squares. Good guide Andrea, highly recommended.
We missed out on pre-booking Parliament tickets so booked this tour as a way to see the Hungarian Parliament. So glad we did - we got so much more out of the tour. Our guide Christina was excellent, extremely knowledgable and made everything very interesting with her local insights. The tour covered much more than we could have sone ourselves in the same time, and includes free time to walk around Fishermen’s Bastion and the Buda castle district. In addition to driving around we also got out at Heroes Square and finished at the Parliament building with an official tour of the main areas and the Hungarian Crown jewels. 100% worthwhile doing this tour.
Excellent and experienced guide. Very knowledgeable and made it interesting with witty anecdotes. Strongly recommend.
Great history of budapest. Friendly guides. Easy to book and find the meeting site. See8ng inside parliament was amazing.
A must do! Our tour guide, Ben was so easy to understand, informative and top notch. The sites were perfect with enough free time as well.
Must done. Its a good way to begin our journey in Budapest. The guide was excellent. Very good spanish.
Ben with Cityrama tours was fantastic. Very knowledgeable as he was born and raised in Pest. Highly recommend him as a guide.
Excellent trip - guided Tour round Vienna. Our Guide was excellent, lots of local knowledge and great insight into the history of Vienna. Covered some of the sites that would have been good to revisit for a longer time if l had more time in Vienna but what we got time wise was excellent and finished with the Parliament. I would absolutely recommend a visit here - it’s outstanding. Overall excellent trip.
This was a great tour. Ben was a super guide, very knowledgeable, informative and friendly. I recommend this tour to anyone wanting a curated visit to the key sites in Budapest.
A very nice, comprehensive tour. I actually didn’t realize it was primarily conducted via tour bus, which was a very nice surprise! Google maps had me going all over the map, 🙄 pun intended, so even though I left in plenty of time, I ended up arriving at the “meeting place” (departure point), at the 11th hour! In fact, I just “attached” myself to what looked like a small group of “stragglers”, as they were walking away. Luckily for me, it was the correct group after finally confirming at the bus door! Phew! 😮💨 I can’t say for certain, as I arrived at the “zero hour”, but the signage and presence of the tour and guides themselves, was very limited at the departure point (i.e. no signage, flags, umbrellas, tour guides in bright yellow vests, etc.) In any case, as mentioned, the tour was very comfortable, albeit a bit “rushed” of a feeling. Budapest is a popular tourist destination and the time on POI is limited due to parking giant, air conditioned tourist buses! 😎 The guides did a great job however, with one narrating the Buda side and the other, the Pest side. They were both extremely knowledgeable about their information, but as there is so much to see and do in Budapest, it felt like my head was on a swivel, “on your left is…if you look to your right…” Finally, lots of moving and walking around, if you’re older, or traveling during heavy tourist season (I was there in the first week of May and although the weather was absolutely perfect 75°F/24°C), there was an abundance of tourism! I thought I would just miss the beginning of it…but I was wrong! “Times (and weather) are a changing”, that’s for sure! Overall, a very nice, informative and “busy” tour! 👍🏼
Well, we had to pay $39 extra for my husband and aunt, because they were not from the European Community, even though when we checked in wr told the girl who helped us. This is truly a rip off. $39 a person is like paying full price for a tour we already paid for
Wonderful tour and very historically informative. The tour guides were excellent the we travelled both Buda and Pesht
Great tour and guide and driver. Didn’t feel rushed at stops. Worth the price. Loved the parliament building at the end
A great introduction to Budapest, our guide (Ben) was very informative and interesting. The coach enabled us to see several interesting sites in the time, Appx 3 hours, and ended at the Parliament building for an audio tour Appx 1 hr. Sites included Heroes square, Fisherman's bastion, the Great Synagogue & Parliament building (which was stunning). Ben also gave us info about places to eat and advice about trams, buses and the metro, and happily answered all questions. Well worth the money .
Earpiece uncomfortable - subpar. Good tour experience. Guide was very knowledgeable and personable to all
It is a very quick rushed trip around the city with very little time to look at it and take it all in. Not even much time for a comfort break. The tour is only really 2 hrs 30 mins, with last hour walking through Parliament guided by others.
This tour exceeded my expectations. Despite US VP JD Vance being in town, we were able to see everything advertised and more. Ben was an outstanding guide who enhanced the tour experience considerably. It was great to see so much of Budapest and tour the Parliament building!
Very superficial tour of Budapest—very little time at Buda castle; possible LONG wait at Parliament. We had only 10 minutes at the castle. We waited 45 minutes for the tour of Parliament. Our guides gave no information that waiting would be required.
One of our favorite city tours ever. Our tour guide Eszter was fantastic. She gave us some great history lessons along with some great local opinions and answered all of our questions.
I recently joined the Grand City Tour in Budapest, and it was fantastic! The panoramic views from Buda Hills took my breath away, and our guide made every stop very interesting and informative. The walk through the Castle District, visiting Matthias Church and Fishermen's Bastion, was a highlight! Crossing to Pest, we drove past Europe’s largest synagogue, Heroes Square with photo stop, St Stephan's church and other sites. The journey through the city was well-paced, allowing us to soak in the sights. The guide bought our tickets to the majestic Parliament, which was a great experience with audio guide. Overall, this tour is a great value for money. Viator always deliver
Brilliant tour, excellent tour guide, great balance of walking and bus, fab tour of parliament
The tour and our guide Josef were great.
We appreciated the tour bus due to cold, snowy weather. We wish the bus windows had had windshield wipers in order to better see all the attractions our guide was pointing out. Well organized. P.S. Recommend bilingual instruction with more separation between languages.
The tour guide Ben made all the information about Budapest come alive. His delivery was great and had a keen sense of humor. I would highly recommend taking his tour to learn the history of Budapest.
Ok experience. The guide walk too fast and never tried to round people up before explaining. We had grandma and a 11 year old, can't hear anything he said.
