Anna, our guide was fabulous. Informative & attention to detail was excellent. We had a good variety of food and experiences. However we felt that the value for money was not quite representative of what we paid (beer from off license & sat at outside vendor) My wife was vegetarian and whilst she was catered for a little more food available for her would have been good.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!! Our guide, Anna, was ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!!!!! We had so much fun and ate LOTS of yummy food!! (Goulash, sausage, strudels. I would 100% recommend this tour….but ask for Anna!!!
We always love the local food scene. Anna made our small group tour to unique places fun with her narratives. Don’t eat before. Maybe not drink either. Vary satisfied. Highly recommend.
Ana is a joy! She is knowledgeable, very accommodating, and open. She provided a history and understanding of not only the food we were eating, but also about Hungarian culture and history. We had goulash at a local restaurant. It was delicious! We then had a local beer with our Langos. It was amazing! After that we had Hungarian sausage, with a potato and onion side, beets, and a slaw. Everything was very tasty! Finally, we ended with a Struedel tasting of 3 different types! Everything was very enjoyable! I would highly recommend this tour, especially with Ana!
Louis was very personable and knowledgeable. Highly recommend him and the food tour was excellent. Not just your average food tour. Sign up Louis- you will enjoy it!
Do not book this tour! Total rip-off! Although our guide was very sweet, the food was a joke! Bad street food at best, and included a stop at a convenience store to grab a can of beer to bring to an outside Langos shop. Had to split a Langos there which cost about $6. For $92 a person, this was the biggest rip-off tour I have ever done. Viator, you have lost a long-time customer. Do better!
This was a great food tour where we got to try a number of local foods, including goulash, Làngos (a savory donut type street food!), and of course local sausage! Anna is a great guide, full of energy and knowledge! We fully enjoyed the tour and had a great time in the city center of Budapest! (Pest side).
Taking the Budapest Food Tour with Anna was a great experience! She was very knowledgeable, engaging and fun to be around! History was shared and we tasted the classic Hungarian fare. Highly recommend 👍🏼
Anna was lovely and very knowledgeable about the city. The food was delicious and was a great way to experience the culture. Would definitely recommend this tour!
Very nice afternoon. Friendly, knowledgeable guide, good local, casual eateries. The food was good and Anna chose local-owned businesses. Alcoholic beverages were included at each stop, a little much for early afternoon. We had some trouble finding our guide having only the street address. We have only wifi calling and messaging, so we had to find wifi site before we could make contact. The other couple on the tour was very understanding about having to wait for us. Overall the tour was comfortable and satisfying.
We had an excellent day going around Budapest with Margarita. We had already been in Budapest for a couple of days and had an underwhelming experience with traditional Hungarian food. She gave us an excellent and delicious exposure to the food scene in Budapest. We feel that we now have a good understanding of Hungarian food. In addition to the food tour, she also gave us a good brief history of Budapest. She brought us around neighborhoods that we wouldn’t have explored on our own. Learned a lot of stuff that you tube and social media could not provide.
Luis guided our group of 9 friends and family. He was fun and very informative. More sausages and less langos! We tasted a variety of treats.
Luis, our tour guide has been sculpting this tour so as to hit the highlights of Hungarian food while avoiding the highly populated tourist areas. The food was excellent plus we could converse with him in a quiet environment. The group was small which made it ideal. Come very hungry because there is a lot of food. The walk is flat and without obstacles. Lots of food information and Hungarian history. The most enjoyable tour I’ve had in Europe so far.
Excellent. Luis, our guide, was a trove of interesting information. Food was very well selected. Luis was well prepared to describe the food and how it related to Hungary and its history. Highly recommend this tour and that you request Luis as your guide.
Our charming guide Anna, led our group of 8 on a 2 1/2 hour tasting experience with stops for goulash thru to strudel, ending with a digestive beverage. A very enjoyable way to spend an afternoon!
Luis was great. The experience of trying authentic Hungarian food along with great conversation from someone who was very knowledgeable about the food and the city. We highly recommend this tour! Thank you Luis!
The guide was very friendly and accommodating. We went to various eateries to take in the local food. We enjoyed the tour very much. Our guide was also pursuing a career in music.
Luis was an excellent guide: knowledgeable about food, cooking methods and local provenance. Gave historical context, recommendations and tourism advice. Waked at our place. We thoroughly enjoyed his company.
Luis was an excellent tour guide. We sampled lots of Hungarian food, deserts and drinks at five or six different establishments. We got to see different parts of the city so we kind of knew where to go to later on to eat good food.
Great experience, our guide Sher went above and beyond to show us many items of interest between the restaurants, food was top notch, highly recommend for anyone visting the city.
Amazing experience in Budapest! The tour was perfectly organized, the guide was excellent, and the whole atmosphere was great. We got to experience beautiful parts of the city, learn interesting local history, and enjoy delicious Hungarian food and drinks along the way.
Amazing tour with an awesome guide!! The food was just perfect, we had langos the classic Budapest, we had goulash the best soup of Central Europe, and more delicious dishes!
A wonderful time. Got to experience authentic Hungarian foods. On top of that we received lessons on the history and culture. Received tons of advice on what to visit in and around Budapest. I highly recommend.
Amazing experience, went to many places in Pest we never would have seen on our own. Our guide, Luis was the highlight, showing us the most authentic spots, making recommendations, lots of fun facts and history, and just a really nice fun tour guide. Highly recommend this tour!
The food tour was excellent. Luis, ur guide took a to some amazing places with great food. We were able to otherwise see some parts of the City we would have never seen. Come hungry, there is a lot of eating.
Everything was delicious, the food was absolutely amazing. The guide was incredible, very friendly and knowledgeable. We had five stops, and each one was a great experience. Totally recommended!
While there was a little technical difficulty* with finding the location, everything about this tour was exceptional thanks to Luis, the most wonderful guide we could’ve asked for!! His advice and sociable manner was exactly what we needed, he was so chatty and informative of the best places to go, the best menu options to try, and the best drinks to order. We could not have asked for a better experience, it was the perfect way to learn about the city and become familiar with some language basics. Luis had great knowledge about the history of the country and city, but we weren’t really in it for the history, and were still greatly entertained by his stories and facts. Every stop was exceptional, the food and drinks were all perfect, and even if they were a little cliché and touristy, we had the absolute best time and would immediately do it all over again!!! *Both the manager of the tour Juan and our guide Luis were so apologetic and keen to get this issue fixed, giving us a partial refund and a discount on future tours which was more than enough for us. The issue was with Viator and NOT the tour company.
My husband and I were the only people on this tour. I think this experience is best shared by a small group. We did go to some places that you wouldn’t find on your own. Our guide lives in the city so she had some local knowledge. Most of the dishes we enjoyed, except for the sausage restaurant and the strudel cafe. Overall we felt it was way too much food and the tour was too long.
Go Hungry (ha ha - pun intended), a great walk through the city, and discovering some of the foods of the city. The first stop was so good we went back for dinner. Only negative is I would have liked to have known more about the history as we walked past some amazing buildings. The architecture is incredible, so it would be nice to learn a little about it.
Luis, our guide, was very friendly but we were disappointed in the places they chose to stop at to eat. It was mostly street food, although we loved the goulash soup, the remaining stops were just ok. The 2nd stop was suppose to include wine/beer but it turned out they didnt have a liquor license, the 4th stop was a sit down bakery that our guide was talking up a specific dessert but they were sold out and than 3 homeless people came in and sat near us with a strong urine smell. Not a pleasant experience. The last stop was a ruins bar. The guide took us downstairs to have a drink and we were the only ones there. The tour started at 5:30 and we were at the bar by 7pm. it would have been better if the tour started later so the bar would have been more lively. For the price we paid, we expected a higher level of food and places. We also expected a small group and it was just the two of us eating while our guide watched us so we felt rushed to eat.
Maria was a great tour guide! Super knowledgeable from the history to the language and she was easy to talk to. My family and I had a great time with her. She was even able to recommend other places to visit and where we could try shopping. The food was also amazing, definitely recommend trying this tour out if you’re not sure what foods to try for your first time visiting!!
We did this amazing tour, the guide was Increible and the food was delicious we went to 5 different hídden gems, if you are a foodie you should do this great tour!
We could have done this tour on our own for a fraction of the cost. We knew as much about the food as our guide Luis did. I would not recommend and wish we could get our money back.
Luis was a FANTASTIC tour guide!! He was knowledgeable, informative, and super fun! He brought us to some delicious food places and we all enjoyed our “taste” of Budapest!!
Not a good tour! The guide gave no knowledge of the area we were walking through and the food we tried was cheap street food…..very disappointing and would not recommend.
The guide Louis was very nice and informative. The choices of restaurants needed to be improved. Guide talked about how good the bread is on our second stop and restaurant was out of bread. Next stop they ran out of dough and we had to wait over 20 minutes until they made more.
Guide Luis was excellent. The Food tour was definitely sub par. Ran out of their excellent bread in one place and had to wait 20 minutes for the fried dough (Lagos?) at another. Need to work on this product to make it acceptable. Not worth the $100. Again not the guides fault, Luis was excellent
Food tour was fun. This is more of street food tour. Goulash was great at first stop. Lagos and sausage were great. Had strudel that was yummy and finished with a shot of liqueur. Guide was nice but I would have liked more cultural and food information.
I highly recommend this food tour in Budapest! Delicious lángos, hearty goulash, a fun and knowledgeable guide, and great photos along the way!
Tasty food in local places, we enjoy it a lot. Luis was very knoledge and very friendly. I had awesome time with My wife !!!
Had a fantastic evening sampling traditional Hungarian food - gulyás, lángos, sausage and even Unicum. We went to locally owned spots with quality food. Luis was an excellent tour guide telling me about the food, the locations we were going to and general tips and suggestions for the rest of my trip. He even taught me a few words in Hungarian. It was a fun and delicious way to spending an evening in Budapest.
Such a great way to discover the city! We visited five local, hidden gems that we’d never have found on our own. Everything felt authentic and thoughtfully curated.
Iam in love with Budapest and this tour make even like more Budapest. Luis the guide gave us a nice black ground and history of food.
Everything was perfect! We had an an amazing time. Luis the guide was very friendly and cool. The food was delicious, we like also all the local spots!
The tour was fantastic! The goulash was incredibly tasty, and walking through the streets of Budapest was such a beautiful experience. The dessert was also delicious, and everything throughout the tour was really well organized. I also really enjoyed learning the history behind the places we visited, and the guide was very kind and informative. Highly recommended!
It was a very local an great tour, that was what we were looking for. The Food like langos and the goulash soup was such a nice experience. I completely recommend it!
