Budapest Evening Cruise With Drink Options

Excellent evening great food well price drinks and fabulous entertainment

The boat was a lot bigger than I imagined and there was also a dinner cruise at the same time. There should have been clear spot for just the prosecco people. I wanted to sit outside but there really wasn’t any seating arranged, we just grabbed some chairs from a stack and made the outdoor deck our own space. Some music or even speakers to the outside would’ve been nice. There was a live band playing, I would’ve loved to hear that from outside

It was a fun experience but unorganized and a bit chaotic when boarding and finding a seat. The lighting inside makes it impossible to get good photos unless you go outside. The musicians were lovely - be prepared to to them.

Well worth doing the evening cruise and pleased that we had not booked for food. Top tips are to arrive at least half an hour before departure time and to sit on a chair close to the side rails. Port side is better.

We selected the Cruise with entertainment option. Received a welcome drink . There was a dinner option, which we did not take. We had seats on the deck which gave us very good opportunities to click photos and record videos. The evening Cruise on the Danube is a must for every traveller. The spectacular lighting on various buildings and monuments on both side is a sight to behold. The highlight being the glowing Parliament Building

excellent ,was for 11/2 hours , glass of sparkling wine on arrival ,we booked with viator if you book when you get there it's 16 euro ,do the evening one it's much better when everythings lit up

It was very positive experience. Bought the tickets online easy to find the queue along the dockside and it was well organized. Would say the only big limitation is cause they do offer dinner with cruise. A lot of people are having a dinner while on the cruise so outside deck space is rather limited so if you want to sit outside on the deck and not have dinner you do have to line up quite early to have access to that cause chairs are limited to sit outside.

It was in fact a river cruise up and down the Danube. Do not expect any information to be given during the cruise as there is none. Expect gypsy music and to be awkwardly asked for money while they play going table to table. The welcome beverage is only half a glass. All other benches and snacks are overpriced. Would not recommend to someone who is planning on seeing the city themselves or simply walking the riverfront. Really not worth the time spent stuck on a boat.

Get to the ponton early, we were there 30 mins before and it was very chaotic. We had only just sat down when the boat set sail. Was very comfy though and great views through windows.

Pleasant trip. Parts where there is nothing much to look at and the boat is almost at a standstill. There were guests dining so the trip has to be long enough to enable them to eat 3 courses. Do not expect any commentary. Although the trip was said to include live music, the musicians were in the dining section.

For an event that happens consistently throughout the day, this was completely disorganized, so disorganized that it was 38 minutes from the time we pushed off until we touched back. There were 2 boats loading from the same dock, so they kept those for this cruise on land until the other one was loaded. We had a 7:00 ride, were told to be there at 6:45, and didn't even start loading until 7:00. There was no one directing people on land, so no one knew if we were even in the right line. Completely disorganized. I'm not sure how it's advertised as an hour, or 50 minutes, but ours was not. And on top of that, the setup of chairs on the top deck was three chairs on either side. Considering that many people are in groups of two, this left all of the middle seats on both sides of the aisle open. It just seems all poorly thought out. Also, there was no narration. The views were stunning when we did get out, but I'm sure you can see these views with a better cruise.

If you don’t order food, you are treated like a second class citizen. You are relegated to the first floor even when requesting the second floor where there was space, enjoying the music the last 15 minutes only and that’s it. Smoking should be forbidden even outdoors. The sites at night are beautiful but the cruise could be shortened. Corny.

Good to spend 1.5 hours - meant the boat sailed slower. Parlament was not fully lid up when we started trip. Really nice experience.

I booked the 7pm evening cruise after looking up sunset time for the date I wanted through TripAdvisor. I loved that TripAdvisor sent me notification reminder the day before and the day of. And a QR code near to start of activity. It was convenient to pull it up without having to look for it. The directions to the location were very clear. There was also a contact number to call for any assistance needed. I had no problem finding the location. Upon arrival, there was a ramp to go down into the boat. We had to walk over to a second boat right next to first one. No problem there. The queue had formed near the entrance. We got there about 40 minutes early and the line moved fast. He scanned the QR code and welcomed us in with a drink even though I had not selected the drink option. We were asked if we wanted to be seated inside or outside. Since I said outside he led us there but I reallly wanted to be on the other side for better views, and he took us there without a problem. There were many chairs along the edge of boat. We picked our seats and relaxed with our apple juice drinks which was really good. The boat started about 10 minutes late. It was packed. We noticed the entertainment inside where people sat at tables. It was not for those of us who chose to sit outside. The sights along the river were beautiful starting with the Pest side. Loved the peaceful atmosphere. The boat was smooth and we enjoyed it thoroughly. It was a highlight of our trip to Budapest.

Never book with viator got very bad experience. We booked a cruise for one evening at 7:00 pm. When we reached there no sign of any cancellation or we got any email saying the cities got cancelled. We try to call and email no response at all. We also email for our refund but response yet Is better do not book at all for the any event, try to do once u go there . Viator have not taken any responsibility yet, no text no email no call received. Is very sad our special evening got ruined because of them at last minute. Even there was no sign at the entrance the cruise got cancelled for Wednesday 09/092026 at 7:00 pm. Hope viator give our ticket refund.

Appeals to the masses. Sunset cruise that was just okay. They cruised up to the Parliament Building first when the lights weren't on yet, then turned around and went back down the river. If they had done the opposite way it would have been better as by the end all the night lights were on. They did have some nice music, but we were outside the whole time so couldn't really here it.

Asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. We chose outside, unfortunately they did not ask if we wanted smoking or non smoking. A little while into the cruise and when all the, rather uncomfortable seats had been taken, we discovered we were on the smoking side. The trip was then tainted by a group of chain smokers who sat next to us. This definitely should have been mentioned when we were guided to our seats.

It’s basically a boat ride with a drink which was nice. Don’t expect them to tell you about anything (again, which is ok). The only frustrating part was the fact that not everyone got seats outside. You either stood outside, got seats (limited availability) or stood.

We were on the drink only one drink ticket and they segregate you to one spot on boat. The river was low and the 1 1/2 hour boat ride inched along very slowly. We did not view the parliament building when the lights were on. I wouldn’t do this trip again.

We had such a great time on this boat cruise. Given a glass of prosecco upon boarding was a plus. We saw all the amazing sights on the bank of the Danube from the river itself - it was so peaceful, and the gorgeous lit up buildings like the Parliament and Buda Castle were highlights. Once we saw those main highlights we went inside the historic seeming ship to get some wine, and while we sat down we were serenaded by string musicians. Then a pair dressed in classic Hungarian garb danced for everyone. It was so lively, and everyone was having a great time, and it definitely made our first night in the city special.

Had a lovely evening. Did not have a meal but what we saw of others eating the food looked good. There was musicians playing and traditional dancers and the views were good as well. Drink was priced well around £6 a pint so very similar to other bars. Staff didn't hoover around you but were there when needed. All in all a lovely evening would definitely do it again but probably with the meal.

Such a fun experience to see Budapest from the Danube! Great value and worth the booking!

Took 9:30 pm cruise so we would see the city lights. The cruise was on a large river boat, which hosted a combination of options including eating and drinking. We had the basic ticket and were happy with the cruise with the option to sit outside or inside at a table. Note that there was no commentary because music and dancing entertainment was provided for those passengers choosing to be inside, mostly diners. It didn’t feel crowded. And was a lovey way to see the views while resting tired legs. Although not at all cold, I was glad I brought a light shawl as the evening drew on.

If you choose to go on this tour, make sure you go early if you want to sit on the outside. We arrived 25 minutes prior and we got the last two seats outside. Once the cruise gets going people come from the inside and stand in front of the people sitting. Seems like the dinner and dancing inside was fine but we just did the cruise with one drink option. I am not sure why language was noted for this cruise as there was no announcements about what you were seeing. There was an app you could download but it only spoke about 8 of the sites you saw on the 90 minute cruise.

We could not find the boat on Dock 2 at the specified time, therefore we missed our experience. I kindly asked for a refund, contacting time company twice, however they refused to do that and now I‘ve wasted 34€. This is seriously outrageous.

Best tour for Budapest, although the people were little rude. Too many options too

It was crowded with a long line to get seated however the tour was well organized and well staffed. Good live music and best of all there was air conditioning on the boat! There was no roof top and limited seating on the outside of the boat. Overall for the price paid, it was a steal!

Great cruise,easy to find,good commentary. Drink choice very good and served as boat was underway.

10/10 rating. We were a group of 6, 4 adults and 2 teenagers and there was something for everyone. We all loved it!

Great view on the 7 pm tour. Regardless of what side of the boat you are on, you will have a fabulous time. I enjoyed a bottle of wine with live music and the best scenery. My 86 year old father was easy to manage boarding and disembarking. Staff was wonderful! My 18 year old daughter enjoyed it as well.

The dullest boat experience I’ve ever been on and then they stood at the end wanting a tip. Was shoved off to one side of the boat and not told we could sit inside

The Danube River at night is just magical! To see all the buildings in Budapest lit up was to see them from a completely different perspective. The slow pace of the boat allowed us to get great photos.

Nice boat cruise with friendly, efficient staff, but the pace was slow and no information about what we were seeing was provided..

The one and a half hour nighttime cruise is just the perfect cruise if you’re not dining. The crew was spectacular. The views were even more spectacular and the complementary Prosecco at the beginning was a welcome site.

An absolute tourist trap. Limited views. Could be much shorter for a better experience. They really only want to sell you drinks. Walk both banks of the Danube. You will get the same views. Cheape. And Better.

As a same sex couple, it was obvious that we were being treated differently so other guests, heterosexual couple were serenaded by the musicians at their table, same sex couples were all bypassed without engagement, ignored by wait staff, while the cruise itself was great, the views were amazing, the boat was beautiful, however there was a bitter taste left at the end due to the staffs attitude towards us.

Lovely cruise down the Danube. We paid for the drinks package which was more than enough for the 90 mins - be aware drinks are expensive on the boat. Live entertainment was good with roving musicians playing requests (for a tip).

Champagne is provided when you enter the boat. There is not a “guide” explaining what you see but if you are familiar with Budapest, this is not a deal breaker. The boat ride was about 1 hour and the city lights are breathtaking. I appreciate this cruise did not have loud obnoxious music which detracts from the overall experience.

It was ok. Very packed, too many people on board. I kept getting pushed on my chair. The welcome drink wasn’t very pleasant. Should have booked a smaller cruise with commentary.
