The dinner cruise was excellent. Our plated dinners were selected from a menu and the food and service were really good. Because our dinner cruise was on Hungary's Republic Day, we enjoyed an especially good view of the buildings illuminated in Hungary's national colors. My only criticism was that the entertainment wasn't so good, but still a great cruise.

Friendly welcome by staff and a glass of champagne as we got settled at our window table (we were a group of 4). I did this cruise about 12 years ago and we loved it but didn't know if it would be as good as we remembered. The food surpassed expectation - chicken starter, consommé, duck and panna cotta - every mouthful was perfectly cooked and tasty. The views were magnificent and the entertainment was really good but not intrusive. A highlight of our visit
Beautiful setting. Outstanding food. Great service. Very attentive. The number 1 experience in Budapest.
We had an amazing time travelling on the boat at night seeing all the landmarks lit up. We sampled some great food, drink and live music. The service was well organised and first class. Recommended.
The night time views of the illuminated city through the extended windows of the boat are spectacular. The decor on the boat’s interior was fantastic. The food was of good quality. I would point to two less impressive elements: the dinner delivery was very slow and the life music was American while I expected something local (tradicional Hungarian music). Also, the information about this attraction did not make it clear enough that only one drink was included in the price.
Brilliant trip lovely food and great service
Lovely night time voyage. Often difficult to take pictures due to reflections in glass. Food was nicely presented. Average in taste and portions. Very, very steep incline going on board. Very, very steep decline leaving. Next time I would skip the food and take a nighttime cruise while enjoying an in city meal. You would probably save money and have better food.
Excellent river cruise . Lovely Staff , food was very good Live music was an added bonus We had a lovely evening and would certainly recommend
Fantastic cruise with 4 course dinner, several choices available. Staff are excellent, very friendly efficient & multilingual. Amazing views.
Very nice ship, Staff could not have been familiar, service was a bit slow, especially when it came to the entrée course they informed us we had 30 minutes more on our cruise and we hadn’t gotten my trace yet seemed a little strange for 2 1/2 hour cruise time we sat on the upper deck, which was very nice and more private however, very cold whereas the main deck was very warm. It seems like they might be having/air-conditioning problem.
This was booked for our 30th wedding anniversary and whilst we tried to look on the experience positively sadly there was a major underlying issue. When we arrived we thought that this looked a perfect venue with wonderful atmosphere, beautifully laid tables, a tasteful bar area, friendly young ladies looking after us and a small live music area. Sadly that did not last as we were led to our table which was up a winding staircase (maybe they should have put the mop and bucket out of sight to give correct ambience) onto a very sparse glass top deck. I asked if we could be seated downstairs but I was informed that the tables were allocated in order that reservation was taken so not possible unless a table became available when all passengers were on board. Our server was very friendly and promptly offered us a wonderful glass of champagne and efficiently took our order after providing us with menu information. Overall the food was good albeit not particularly hot but we thought that might be expected and we accept this. For a long period of time the servers were not available to us upstairs as we assumed they were focussing on main course service to the lucky diners downstairs. We had become increasingly cold and were provided with blankets. Another couple at a near table also complained of being cold and were offered the remaining table for 2 downstairs!!! Why had this not been offered to us as previously mentioned should one become available? To make the disparity between upstairs and downstairs even more obvious I had to walk through that area to reach the bathroom and it was a lovely ambiance, warm, romantic and had the live entertainment. This was most definitely a 2 tier experience. The 2 areas should most definitely not be priced alike. I understand business is challenging and owners are looking to maximise turnover but this has definitely been to the detriment of the customer. If downstairs dining becomes full the customers should be made aware of upstairs availability and be offered a discount price. The 2 areas most definitely did not provide a comparable experience. I politely explained this to the lady in charge who agreed with me. Unfortunately she was unable to compensate other than offer a complimentary glass of the fizz that we had been given on arrival. By this time we had enjoyed our bottle of wine ( that was reasonably priced) and did not want to go back to fizz. Also it was felt that this was a very poor offering considering what we had paid for an experience that was lacking. No atmosphere and we both left extremely cold. We declined in principle. Unless changes are made to this booking system then we would certainly not recommend this trip in case you are given the sub standard seating. As previously mentioned this was a 2 tier experience with only one cost option. This poor review has no bearing on the wonderful ladies who were there to look after us
This dinner cruise exceeded our expectations. I booked it over other cruises because it was longer and I figured it would be less crowded than many of the other night river cruises. It was totally worth the extra cost. The live entertainment was great and we were pleasantly surprised by the food. The servers were very kind and helpful. Seeing everything lit up at night while cruising along the Danube is truly magical ✨🤩
Lovely ride seeing Budapest at night.
This was an awesome experience and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Budapest. The atmosphere on the boat , the food and lovely music was great. The views of the various buildings were stunning.
Felt rushed not much explained. Offer things then hidden charges. This was not advertised when booking.
Lovely evening and dinner was very good. Sights were beautiful from the water. The music on board was also enjoyable. Would recommend.
This was a really special experience. Despite low water levels our cruise was still able to depart. I do think the distance the boat traveled was abbreviated as we went back and forth between three bridges a few times, but since the experience was at night and the bulk of the experience was to enjoy the lights along the river - a highlight in Budapest! - we didn't mind at all. The food was very good and the live music was really fun. Probably one of our better nights in Budapest - or on our trip, actually.
The wife booked this as she knows I loves a river cruise. We arrived and were seated swiftly with a welcome drink. Service was extremely efficient and the goose pate was amazing. Goats cheese and scallops were equally tasty in their own way. Followed by the consume which as clear but lacked seasoning. With views of the Danube and Budapest from lots of angles it was lovely. The duck was excellent and perfectly cooked for me.. followed by multiple deserts we all shared. Wine was very short list but found a good Bock Cabernet. Along with coffees and brandy’s. Yes the trip was a loop but with the Danube being metres below its usual we didn’t mind as the views of Budapest were amazing from all angles. Global warming strikes again and hopefully it will recover.
Great uninterupted views from a comfortable cruise ship. The food was very good and more than enough. Great night and views of the prominate places along the Danube, including the more modern venues.
This was a 60th birthday present from my husband. Upon arrival, the waitress told us she had saved us the best spot on the boat - upstairs! It was NOT the best spot on the boat. It was draughty, bleak and we were very removed from the live entertainment on the deck below, where the vast majority of other diners were enjoying their evening. The food was so-so with TINY portions. The views of Budapest by night were beautiful but we could have seen just as much from the deck below. This is a very expensive (and not quite particularly enjoyable) way to experience Budapest. I would suggest to Légenda Cruises that they only open the upper deck in the summer. They should also give guests the choice of where they sit and not fob them off with ‘It’s very romantic’ rubbish. This feels like a total tourist trap and one we will not repeat.
With water levels so low this year, it’s been hard to get any time on the incredible Danube, but this romantic dinner cruise made it possible! Again, due to water levels we are not able to make the full loop as promised, but the ship was moving for virtually the entire 2 1/ hours, and we got to see lit up Budapest from a number of different - all breathtaking - angles. The menu was available in several languages and offered an adequate variety of selections (pescatarian, vegetarian, and meat lover - more than we expected!). The wine selection was underwhelming, but we were 100% in it for the views, and for that, this ride did not disappoint! The music was lighthearted and largely old school crooners - perfect for the venue. Easy dock to find and access, cars readily available at the end. Would definitely recommend.
Very pleasant and relaxing evening. The views were incredible and the food was very good! My partner and I will cherish this time together!
This was one if not the best event we have taken. It was a fabulous evening. The staff were exceptional and the food terrific. I would highly recommended it
My wife and I aren’t cruise people but we had to try a night dinner cruise on the Danube. It was truly amazing. The service was impeccable and the 4 course dinner options to pick from were great. We were escorted to the top private deck a given a glass of champagne. Shouldn’t be surprised but the food was outstanding. A bottle of wine made it a special night.
Nice boat, Nice cruise on Donau with fantastick view. Terrible 4 course dinner. Fabricated food. No taste.
This was the highlight of our time in Budapest. The ship is beautiful, clean, comfortable, posh, romantic, and sleek with panoramic glass windows from walls and roof. The ride was very smooth. The music was from a piano player and a singer who played known music. The clientele were all adult couples. The food selections were numerous (5 starters, 3 soups, 5 entrees and 3 desserts). I had the duck leg and hubby had the trout. Both were amazing and of very high cuisine quality. Service was excellent. We purchased a very good bottle of Hungaria brut sparkling for 17 euros. Other drink options were also reasonable and a welcome drink was included for free. The views from the boat cannot be described as anything less than spectacular. So many if the buildings are lit up at night (incl Buda Castle and Parliament, each twice in each side of the ship). Each ship side gets up close because the ship turns around so theres no "better side to sit on." This was a magical 2.5 hours we will never forget and we will certainly do this same dinner cruise again when we visit Budapest. I highly recommend!
Friendly welcome by all the staff . Food was delicious and well presented. The views were amazing . Entertainment was good , nice background music/singing
Wonderful food albeit a touch small portions. Well priced alcohol, we never felt pressured or ripped off at any point. Very nice ambiance with the musicians, well paced delivery of the meal and impeccable timing. 2 and a half hours of amazing sights, nice staff and good food.
Wow, was that ever an awful dinner in an awful atmosphere. First off, you sit inside surrounded by clear, curved windows with no fresh air and no deck to wander out on. Basically you are trapped at your table the entire time, no louge area, outside deck, or room to get up and move. The windows sound nice and you do see some great views, but since the inside is lit for dining the lights reflect off the window making it hard to get any decent photos. Your pics end up with reflections of the tables and people inside. Due to it being totally enclosed with that many people the noise level is very high. As for the food, very bad. They try to serve an elegant dinner that they cannot pull off. My appetizer was the scallops - fishy smelling and tough, and that was the highlight of my dinner. Next course was the soup - a pork consomme with pork marrow. Tasted like a blend of pork fat drippings that had these discs of marrow which tasted off in some way. In other words it was a relatively bland broth highlighted with questionable pork pucks. Next up the main course - I chose the beef confit. These were 2-inch in diameter thin sliced sitting atop, well, I'm not sure what they were. They weren't made of a dough exactly nor vegetables, but they were a it tough and somewhat rubbery in texture. The meat was stringy like over (under?) cooked pot roast that had lost its flavor. The accompanying sides were equally bad with the exception of a carrot puree. Desert options were few and I chose chocolate cake with a strawberry compote. This was a poorly done flourless, dark chocolate cake. More like a brick of unsweetened fudge. The strawberry compote looked very unappealing and was tart as if no sweetening agent was used. While we cruised along the river I looked out at other dinner cruises where people were mingling about on the deck or inside in a lounge area, taking photos of the beautiful views, not being subjected to the noise one would expect in a crowded bar. I truly cannot fathom the amount of 5 star reviews here. Perhaps I should have had a dozen or so overpriced drinks.
Great boat ride. However passing Porta potties along the beautiful water front takes away from the city
Amazing views and atmosphere. I had to get up our table to order additional drinks (the waitresses kept walking by ignoring me). The location information could have been more specific beyond just the Pier but also the Gate. The food was delicious great value for the money. Totally recommend 👌
Arrive early. It was well organized and executed. Good selections for the 4 course meal and drink menu. Entertainment, views and experiences were fantastic.
This was a wonderful experience. Cruising along the Danube in the evening, sipping champagne, eating wonderful food. Everything was perfect.
This cruise was excellent and worth every penny. The food was delicious. The ambience was perfect. We were very fortunate with the weather as well but all in all I was so glad that I had booked it
The river cruise was as we expected, lovely to see the landmark buildings lit up at night. The big disappointment for us was the food which arrived either lukewarm at best or cold. We have been on other cruise trips in other countries and never had a similar problem.
A little pricey for what it is, but definitely worth doing. I had Duck which was great, my wife’s Tuna was so-so. Beer and wine was not the tastiest. My wife wanted a non-alchoholic beer, which is not available. The setting is great, the views are beautiful. The band did a terrific job, nice songs at the right volume.
Experiencing the city in the day is wonderful and then getting to see it from the river at night was magical. Absolutely beautiful views of the city. Then there is the four course meal and wine which was beyond our expectations. It was nice to have the entertainment with many familiar songs to complete the night. Book a spot early!
Everything was amazing, A must do when in Budapest. Yummy food, attentive staff, enjoyable entertainment along with wonderful views. Highly recommended.
The food, alcohol and music were great. Nice ambiance..not crowded. Great scenic night views. Highky recommend.
The food was amazing, the staff amazing and the length of the cruise just right amount of time . The evening lights of city we spectacular
If you want to view the city at night, it is well worth the spend, and the staff is very sweet and accommodating. But if you are a foodie, don’t expect a fantastic meal. We didn’t eat much. Wines off the menu are good.
an incredible dream experience, everything was extraordinarily beautiful, the dinner was very delicious, the staff was very attentive and respectful.
Book it! Food fantastic! Wait staff, so lovely, live music was awesome, and the views were spectacular. Best way to see Budapest
Really great experience. Dreamy views from the boat and staff were great. Menu better than we anticipated. My only criticism (which is so minor) is that you need to be more specific as to when you arrive. We arrived just before 7pm (as it said 7pm on our Viator booking) but the boat was off at 7.01 😄 . Maybe ask customers to be there by 6.45pm. Great and very memorable last evening in Budapest.
Beautiful river cruise down the Danube! Food was awesome and the service excellent. We had a great seat next to the window and all the buildings lit up were so beautiful all lit up.
Good food, attentive staff and fabulous photo ops!
The dinner was exceptional with many options for the starters, soups, mains and dinner, beautifully presented. The duet sang songs very familiar for the age of the patrons. I would highly recommend this dinner cruise line for foodies and the like!
What a beautiful way to spend with your husband or wife. Relaxing cruise on the river, 4 course meal was fabulous. We ordered a glass of wine and enjoyed the beautiful of Budapest. One of my fave times.
The evening was beautiful. Great table service, very good "welcome drink," pretty good food. We cruised up and down the Danube, between the Margaret Bridge and the Rakoczi Bridge, about 2 and-a-half times. It was nice to get multiple chances at pictures. It was a warm day for us, and the windows were all open. My only downside was that the food was not, for me, great. The appetizer was terrific, but the rest was only so/so. Still, a fun evening and totally worth the price.
The entire evening was seamless! Of course the scenery was amazing but the 4 course dinner with several options to choose from was delicious and beautifully prepared. The servers that evening were amazing, up and down the stairs to serve all the courses always with a smile. And the music provided added to the ambiance, highly recommend!
