Greg was a wonderful guide Prompt and very knowledgeable about the history He did things at a good pace showing us the wonderful places around Budapest Would highly recommend this tour
Greg is an outstanding tour guide with so much knowledge and answered all of our questions. This is a great tour to take in Budapest and the strudel stop was an extra bonus.
Greg has been an amazing guide! Extremely knowledgeable and interactive. Truly stands out our multiple guided tours. Anyone who ends up having the tour with him will be very happy.
Monika was a fantastic guide for 4 adults and an 11-year-old who loves history. All of us enjoyed our walking tour around Budapest. We learned much about the history and culture of the city from a genuine local with a great passion for and interest in Budapest. It was great to see around and learn about both sides of the river and she was very knowledgeable and gave us great insights and recommendations.
Excellent tour through Budapest. Our guide, Petra was personal, informative, friendly and was engaging. The tour took us to sites that need to be seen to understand the history of Budapest and appreciate the history and culture. If you want to feel what it’s like be Hungarian, take this your with Petra!
This is a great overview tour. Also includes tram and bus tickets to move around the city. The strudel stop included a variety of flavors of this pastry as well. Our guide was well versed in his knowledge and excellent. Would highly recommend this tour!
This was a great tour. A historical walk through the city. Our tour guide Greg was very knowledgeable.
We thoroughly enjoyed this small group walking tour of Budapest. Greg was an excellent guide - so interesting and humorous. The strudel stop was a highlight and we tasted strudels that we didn't know existed. The duration was perfect and we got our bearings with regard to Buda and Pest.
Greg was a great guide, very knowledgeable about Hungarys history. Covered all the high points of Budapest. Navigated the subway, tram and bus. Highly recommend this tour when you first arrive so you see where you want to explore.
Only 4 people. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable. English was very good. Very few words not understood due to accent or mispronunciation. Gave a nice overview of area, and as a bonus, how to use public transport.
Louisa/Luiza? delivered the best guided tour of any city I remember being to. We had a small group. Louisa was well spoken, engaging, easy to understand, knowledgeable, to the point, spiced up the facts with some anecdotes, covered centuries of history and a lot of historic ground; enough to get the bigger picture with some context and fun-facts without being overloaded; and she was willing and able to provide different perspectives if asked being still professional and friendly in all aspects. Even if we did not visit the cathedral’s interior, Louisa provided sufficient context and information to easily make a separate visit on our own after the tour. All transport and walking routes were well prepared and smoothly delivered; metro tickets had already been purchased, and the flow of the itinerary and guiding comments appeared thoughtfully curated, but not as in a ‘listing from a book’ fashion, but delivered with ease making it very interesting listening, and with room for additional stops and questions along the way. The break at the Strudel House is well worth the time to taste a selection of strudels (a variety was served to help us find our favorite), have something to drink and maybe a bathroom visit. Thank you, Louisa, for giving us the highlight of our five-days stay in Budapest.
Our guide was Balint and he was a Wonderful guide!! We got a real feel for the city and country! And loved the small group! Thank you!
We had a lovely tour with Ezster. She was friendly and very knowledgeable! We traveled by foot, metro, and bus. She explained how the transportation system worked which was very helpful. It was nice to take a strudel break midway through the tour. We saw all the major highlights. I highly recommend this tour.
Greg was a wonderful tour guide. Very knowledgeable and interesting. He gave us a great overview of Buda and Pest. The strudel was delicious and it was a lovely cafe. A great stop along our 4 hour walking tour.
Very small group!! Walked to Budapest highlights. Able to easily converse with the tour guide, who provided history of the sights in a way that enhanced my understanding of the sites relevance to today’s Budapest. We shared some spaces with much larger groups and I appreciated that the guide remembered each of us in the tour (4) and could respond to us by name!
A fantastic overview of Budapest tour! Greg was a phenomenal guide, filled with a lot of information, anecdotes and humor (definitely a Buda fan) It was a delightful experience and his restaurant recommendation was spot on! Great tour!
Traveled with husband and friends and we all thought Petra and tour were fantastic! She managed to get it all in and it was a relaxed enough pace . Perfect tour especially if you have little time in Budapest. If you have more time , You can go back and revisit your favorite spots because you have the lay of the land! Loved Petra! And her tour! She was great and informative . Many thanks Petra! We were happy our friend found this tour for us!
We really enjoyed our tour guide, she was very knowledgeable and friendly. Sorry we don’t remember her name but she had blond / pinkish hair. It was fascinating to learn Hungarian history, and of course trying the strudel. Highly recommend if you are interested in Magyar history!
We had a great time on the walking tour. Guide had extensive knowledge, expertly delivered and great fun, highly recommended, Thank you
Ana was friendly and approachable and provided great insight into the history of and life in Budapest. The tour gives you a little taste of everything, including some excellent strudel. 😁
The tour was great. Our guide was super knowledgable and a lovely guy too!! He not only shared history of Budapest but also his own personal insights as well. Honestly, there is so much to see in both Buda and Pest that 4 hours hardly scratched the surface, but we really enjoyed the tour!!
Our guide, Petra, was great! Knowledgeable, funny, and kind. The tour was a perfect overview of Buda and Pest!
Our tour guide Bálint was amazing. He was so knowledgeable, and kept everyone interested. Highly recommend this guided tour.
Greg made this tour a wonderful experience. The pace was good, kept us on the move but without feeling rushed. Used every form of public transportation which was a tour in itself. Added insight into history with personal reflections. He had a delightful personality. His answers to all our questions were thoughtful, candid and honest. I highly recommend this tour as a great introduction to Budapest. Note: there were only 8 participants which was a perfect size group.
Outstanding tour with Gergely Molnár (Greg Miller, anglicized). He was not only knowledgeable but able to convey the rich history in an interesting and relatable way. Great English skills. His pride in his city was contagious and he was eager to answer our many questions on history or current day. Ushering 6 visitors around town via metro, buses and walking is no small task but it felt seamless and we never felt rushed. The strudel stop was yummy with multiple types to try. Highly recommend this tour and Greg as guide. Be sure to book directly with Absolute Tours to avoid extra fees.
Great introduction to the city, including how to take advantage of mass transit. Greg, our local guide gave us insights into the history of Budapest as well as showing us the area.
Meeting spot and guide were easy to find.. Loved having the opportunity to use different types of transportation. The guide was knowledgeable and helpful. The strudel stop was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend
I enjoyed this tour. I got to see parts of the city I probably would have missed had I done this on my own. The strudel stop was a cherry on the cake so to speak. Our guide was knowledgeable with enough facts and anecdotes to make it enjoyable.
I'm giving this 3 instead of 2 because Balint was very nice and knowledgeable. But since we're on the move, I think I only heard 10% of what he said all day. Get tramsmittors!!! Ridiculous in this age to not be able to hear everything through earbuds. Sites were great, history fascinating, guide was very good. Appearance, though, did not represent the company well with an old tee-shirt and ungroomed beard. Very sloppy and unprofessional looking. Very adept at 3 types of public transport so we were able to get to a lot of areas.
Petra provided unbelievably detailed information about Hungarian history. Great explanation of mass transportation (for us first time visitors), superb restaurant recommendations. Was the best way to start our stay in Budapest!
Excellent and easy way to see the entire city. Lujza was an awesome! She was very kind and knowledgeable.
Petra shared her extensive knowledge of Budapest, its history and culture in a very comprehensive 4 hour tour. She was very entertaining and made a point to talk to each of the people on the tour to get to know them. We loved our experience and highly recommend
Fantastic walking tour covering the major sites in Buda and Pest. Petra was an amazing guide who really knew the city and history and was a lot of fun.
Monica was an amazing tour guide! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made our Budapest walking tour so enjoyable. Even though it was raining, we still had a wonderful time! As a solo traveler, I really appreciated that Monica kindly offered to take pictures of me along the way, which made the experience even more special. The strudel stop was a lovely bonus too! Thank you, Monica, for making my Budapest tour so memorable. Highly recommended! ❤️🇭🇺☔️📸
Very knowledgeable and polite tour guide. It is nice that everything is included in the price, including mid morning coffee and strudel ( which was quite nice) and transportation.
This was easily the best tour I’ve had in Europe! Our guide Balint was friendly, informative, and fun. He taught us a lot about the history and present day of Hungary. We used public transportation part of the time, so the walk wasn’t bad at all. It was just the right length. The strudel stop is delightful. Don’t miss this tour!
It was a very accessible tour due to the mix of public transportation and the many stops. There was a nice overview of the whole City.
Incredible tour! Our guide Greg made all the difference. Knowledgeable, funny and fun. Highly recommend the tour!!
A great overview for our first visit to Budapest! Anna was a very good guide taking time to share local knowledge and insights. We enjoyed taking different modes of transportation from bus to subway. Very enjoyable and a comfortable pace.
If you only have a limited time in Budapest and you want to hit nearly all the highlights, lace up your comfortable walking shoes, grab a water bottle and take this tour! Petra was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide, who managed to be informative, fun and a great photographer 😀. The strudel stop was perfectly timed and also excellent. When we stood at the top of the Fisherman's Bastian and saw how much of Budapest we were able to see in four hours by foot (with a little help from the metro and bus) it was impressive. Can't recommend this tour (or Petra) enough.
Greg was an excellent guide very knowledgeable about all things Budapest and Hugary - super informative on the history of tge country and the city- extremely courteous and friendly - would recommend yo everyone
Monika was a great guide and we really enjoyed our walking tour around Budapest. We learned much about the history and culture of Budapest from a genuine local with a great passion for and interest in Budapest. It was great to see around and learn about both sides of the river and she was very knowledgeable and gave us great insights and recommendations. Overall a good introduction to Budapest for first time visitors. Than you Monika.
We thoroughly enjoyed this day tour of Budapest. Petra was an excellent tour guide and we enjoyed learning about Budapest and Hungary’s rich history with her. We travelled all over Budapest visiting famous landmarks using their excellent transit system. The strudel stop was also a fun way to break up the tour and there was such a variety of strudels we were able to sample. Overall, the length of the tour was just right and the tour structure was very logical and well thought out. This tour is definitely a must do for visitors with a limited time in the city or for those who want an introduction to the amazing landmarks to help them decide where to spend more time on their stay.
It was a great tour covering all the main attractions. Well paced and a very knowledgeable guide. Great for a first time visitors.
Excellent walking tour of Budapest. Bonus was taking public transportation - both the train and bus! We saw many sights, our guide was excellent and answered many questions as well as provided insight about the Hungarian people and culture. The stop for strudel and drinks was a delight. We saw how the strudel was made, and it was a delicious treat! Our guide was also helpful in giving us ideas of things to do while we were in Budapest over the next few days.
Our Tour Guide Gregg, A., Hungarian local from the Buddha side of the city, was an excellent guide. He was clearly very knowledgeable on the history and the politics of the city and this region. He was very specific with dates and names of people, etc. the only thing I would have to say that was slightly negative and prevented me from giving it. A five star review is that he walked ahead of us on several occasions and wasn’t talking. These were opportunities for him to give us more information I thought. The strudel stock was excellent. Highly recommend this Tour.
A great overview of Budapest. Loved the small group dynamic too. Strudel stop was delicious and necessary in the very high heat.
Tour guide was super friendly and knowledgeable! Asked about our history and shared his own in addition to the city/country.
Greg our guide was fantastic! Slow paced walking tour with travel on bus, tram and train. Strudels were delicious. Highly recommend this tour.
