Sigmund was a fabulous storyteller. We had an incredible time, far and above anything I expected. We travel all over the world and have done many excursions, this was on of my favorites. During the tour I was photographing the amazing scenery. While he was telling the story of the man who survived three attempts to cut off his head, the photo I took literally showed Sigmund’s head detached from his body. It was n’t AI, it was a glitch in the up down panorama photo I took, but it was a bit creepy! Definitely take this tour.

Great experience, a spooky night tour to learn some history and remember. Bernadette, our guide, made sure we truly enjoyed everything! You really feel like going back in history! Couldn't suggest more! The tour was long enough for sightseeing and not long enough to get you tired (perfect balance)! Nice price to value ratio, ideal for everyone seeking some mystery. Be prepared to climb some steps though! The crowd wasn't that big, but even if it was bigger it would be okay since the city is quite quiet during that time of the day, so additionally, you can get some really nice pictures!
Fabritzio was a wonderful guide and storyteller. A wonderful way to spend Halloween night.
It was a great experience. Our guide Peter was such a wonderful teller of history and lore. He was fantastically entertaining.
A wonderful fun experience made better by the tour being on Halloween evening. Our guide Peter was knowledgeable and engaging. Highly recommended.
Great fun and lovely friendly guide who was full of stories and tales. Need a reasonable level of fitness and guide is fast in his feet and there’s a lot of steps!
Brilliant tour, great communication prior to booking and easy to meet. Ourguide Bernadette was excellent realky lots of fun plaing our vampire tour guide. Lots of silly jokes interwinned with brilliant stories anout Budapest dark history. Very engaging and wonderful view points you may miss. Was lots of fun and highly recommended.
The Buda castle Vampire tour was really fun. Our guide was very informative about the history and legions of the castle. Beautiful views of the city from the top!
A stunningly beautiful tour around the outside of Buda Castle. The views of Pest were spectacular and both the castle and Matthias’s church were sights to behold. Our host, Peter was knowledgable and engaging. His many stories ranged from fact to treacherous myth. Our whole family enjoyed it. Huge thanks to Peter
Excellent tour with chilling spooky stories
It’s an awful lot of “stories” about Dracula snd not a lot of historical value. Glad we had done more of the latter during our days in Budapest. Missed one part if your as another guide got to venue before ours and we had therefore bypass this part
Great your and fabulous stories. Bernadette was a blast. It was amazing seeing the area lit at night and getting pictures across the river as well. Mind there are some steps but they are manageable. Very glad we had Bernadette as our storyteller.
Fantastic excursion. Bernadette was a fantastic guide, she really through herself into the role and made it an unforgettable experience for all of us. Fantastic story telling paired with amazing views combined for a wonderful walking tour of the dark side of Buda.
Amazing tour , very atmospheric and informative while also spooky. Sigmund was a great storyteller, me and my partner didn't get bored for even one second. Be prepared for some walking but the pacing is good and not exhausting. Highly recommend!
Our guide was extremely informative and entertaining. It was a great way to see Budapest at night. Learned some history too!
20 people, 2 hours, 1 beautiful city and a stunning storyteller! Noone checking their phone during the whole performance. Fabian left us speechless.
Brilliant! We did this on Thursday night. Our guide Fabian was funny, friendly, and really made us feel part of the tour. Not like some where you're just talked at! I would thoroughly recommend going on this, and the views were amazing too
Great experience, our tour guide was absolutely amazing he was brilliant throughout! I do recommend especially if you’re into your history!
We did this tour last night, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guide Fabian was both very knowledgeable, and very funny at the same time, making the whole group feel included. I would recommend this to anyone
We had Fabian as our masterful guide/storyteller and he was excellent! We enjoyed this activity and getting to see more of the Castle District. Note- there are a lot of stairs on this tour, but Fabian pointed out the funicular as an option if guests needed.
A guided tour of the Buda Castle district after dark. Approximately 2hrs. Frequent stops and storytelling.
We had a lovely time! Our tour guide Zoltan was fantastic! He has a lot of interesting stories not only folklore and Vampire related but also interesting Hungarian history. Im also really happy we took the tour because there were so many things to see around the castle on the Buda side that I was unaware of and its quite spectacular to see at night! Bring your good walking shoes. You are in for a treat!
A wonderful evening of history and legends with a bit of comedy thrown in along the way. A fantastic opportunity to learn about Hungarys colourful past and its historical figures and ties to Dracula . Thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile. It's a bit of a steep climb initially but the views are amazing from the castle. Our guide Bernadette was an incredibly entertaining guide . Highly recommend.
Our tour guide “VamPeter” was phenomenal!! He did a phenomenal job and was very enthusiastic and funny! 10/10 experience
There is alot of uphill walking (steps). It was very entertaining and seeing Buda castle and St. Mathius cathedral was great!
It was a great way to explore the whole buda in a quite peaceful evening
Our tour guide was awesome and very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed it and highly recommend. Vampires are more interesting to me now.
Lots of steps to climb initially. Great storytelling by Ziegfried. Beautiful sights to see. Interesting historical information too!
Very interesting, entertaining and professional guide, Zoltan. Beautiful city with great views and interesting stories.
The guide was in character (a vampire) and used it to share important historical stories, some factual, some lore. The entertainment aspect from the guide made the evening and walk go by quickly.
Our guide and his lantern, Geralt, was such an amazing story teller. We learned about history, got our steps in, and had a great evening.
Just a walking history tour. Not inside the castle, not under it. The guide was very knowledgeable and kind. Tour just was not at all what I expected.
We loved it!! Our brilliant guide Sigmund (fantastic storyteller) took us on Budapest’s narrow streets and legends: we learnt, laughed and shivered through two fascinating hours. We highly recommend this experience!
Zigmud you were the whole show! The tour was entertaining, little spooky, with lots of history but the best theatrics were absolutely unforgettable.
An immersive, content-rich, professional, and enjoyable experience! The guide is dressed in a way that perfectly sets the mood, making it a pleasure to listen to legendary and historical tales under such circumstances.
Bernadette made this tour. She stayed fully in character the whole way through, which pulled everyone into the atmosphere and made the stories feel much more alive than a standard walking tour. You could tell she loved what she was doing, and her energy was contagious. Going at night was an amazing way to see Budapest. The streets were quiet, the crowds were gone, and the city felt completely different after dark. It was a great mix of eerie legends, history, and plenty of laughs. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone who wants something a little different. Ask for Bernadette if you can!
Our guide was a skilled narrator/actor and brought the stories to life - sometimes too much! A couple of the stories were very brutal. One, so much so, that I doubted it could be real. An entertaining evening, nonetheless.
Make sure you're happy to start the tour by climbing 200 steps! The pace was OK, as there lots of stops. The guide gave out lots of interesting facts and "stories"......But there were very many similar "stories" about Impaling and Vampires. The route took us to to some amazing views in the Castle Quarter, which a night is well worth a visit.
The guide was very knowledgeable and theatric and made the tour a fun experience!
Bernadette was an excellent storyteller and historian. She was very animated and expressive about Hungarian folklore and stories of the dark & mysterious times of Budapest. We truly enjoyed this walking tour & highly recommend it.
Peter was an outstanding guide tonight! This tales and tour covered alot of ground & kept us interested. Highly recommend!
We decided to meet at the top of the steps near to the Castle Funicular as this was an option given and we were already in the Castle district (note the castle is not an actual castle but an area of churches and buildings with castle ramparts and walls). The group were over 40 minutes late in collecting us - so not a good start. Not really much on vampires, the stories are pretty much Hungarian and Budapest history. About 15 mins from the end the Dracula story comes up but by then it had become a little boring for me as so much historical detail is given which is a lot to take in. We were caught in an electric thunderstorm during the tour which is all open air (as the Castle is not a castle but a collection of buildings which you don't go into). We therefore had to shelter under a bandstand and this detracted from the tour as the rain was torrential with thunder and lightening and everyone was distracted. We then left as soon as the rain eased which was almost at the end of the tour anyway. Obviously no-one can do anything about the weather. The guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Personally I don't think its worth the cost as it is just walking around the castle area with a person talking . It was fine but should be cheaper.
Awesome experience of tales of history and legends. Our guide Zigmund told the stories in a magical way that kept the whole group captivated and entralled the whole time. Would highly recommend and great value for money.
The tour was great and the narrator was fabulous.
This is a great nocturnal walk. Our guide was informative and entertaining. He was very energetic and enthusiastic. The level of detail was excellent and included the appropriate level of ghoulish detail.
The best part of this tour is the route itself—it covers some truly fantastic and beautiful sites around the Buda Castle district at night. Unfortunately, the group size was just too large (well over 20 people), which made it more difficult to hear the guide. Because of the crowd, the tour completely lacked intimacy, and the information shared felt a bit basic and unengaging. Our guide tried her best, but the volume of people really limited her ability to deliver a more dynamic and interesting experience.
The tour was brilliant! The guide we had was funny and someone you can tell loves his job. The stories he told were interesting, he included the group with questions, an evil group laugh and even a little acting at the end with one of our group members! The tour lasted just under 2 hours and was worth the time and price! Walking around Buda castle at night is a little spooky but stunning! The group sizing is perfect and you can always hear the guide. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves spooky stories, crime stories and having a guide who is DEFINITELY not a vampire! 😂
We thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour around the Castle. Taking place after the sun has set made the tour even more beautiful, with the castle lit up and the rest of the city's landmarks also lit up and clearly visible from the heights the castle is set. The tour guide was great telling us tales of the city's legends and history. It made a great introduction to our first day in Budapest. You certainly need to be fit, there is a lot of walking and a lot of steps to climb!
Very good, entertaining & informative tour. Bernadette was dressed for the part which added to the experience.
It was an extraordinary tour through Budapest with interesting stories, thanks to vampire-lady Bernadette, you did your job very well!
