First, I Want to give a shout out to Sara at the bar. Great personality, helpful, and provides good service. Next the room is comfortable, nicely remodeled, and given that it is an old hotel, The companyhas done a good job designing the room interiors. Bathroom is small, but serviceable, and the shower is excellent. Location is convenient to tram, restaurants, and general shopping. It is within a 10 to 20 minutes walk to most historic sites of interest. Hotel service was excellent. I’m with a tour group, and I needed feather free pillows, and they were promptly brought to my room. Breakfast is outstanding.

We had a wonderful five-night stay at Nemzeti Budapest, MGallery in mid-August. The hotel is in a fantastic location, with the tram and metro literally just steps away, making it extremely convenient for getting around Budapest. Our standard room on the third floor was a little small, but it was spotlessly clean and perfectly comfortable for our needs. Housekeeping did a great job of cleaning the room every day without us even having to ask. Our room faced the tram and metro station, so there was some noise and occasional sirens during the night, but it didn’t stop me from sleeping well. In fact, I really enjoyed looking out of the window and seeing how lively and busy the city still was, even at 4am, it was a different and memorable experience! All the staff were pleasant, welcoming and helpful, but a special mention to Dorottya, who was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly attentive, professional and always made sure we had everything we needed, especially during breakfast. Her warmth and excellent service really made our stay memorable. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would happily stay here again when visiting Budapest!
I think the hotel is perfectly fine overall, nothing too special, but everything was okay and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, which definitely made the stay more pleasant. There was a receptionist whose name was something like Gaabo, and he was especially nice He gave me some good tips about what to see and do in the city, and explained everything quite clearly.. Overall good hotel
Nemzeti Hotel Budapest - MGallery Collection Comfortable stay, outstanding breakfast, unbeatable location We stayed from 16–19 July 2026 to celebrate birthday, and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is a beautiful architectural landmark with stunning high ceilings in both the rooms and the public areas. For me, two things are extremely important: opening windows and thorough daily housekeeping. Nemzeti Hotel scored 10/10 on both. The reception staff were outstanding from check-in to check-out. They were always happy to answer questions about the city, provide maps, and offer helpful recommendations. Breakfast was simply WOW! There was an impressive selection of hot and cold dishes, delicious lángos, fresh fruitя, and even a traditional tea samovar. We booked the half-board package, so we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. Dinner exceeded our expectations, with a full three-course menu and complimentary water every evening. An especially elegant touch was the talented pianist performing on Friday and Saturday nights, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The location is hard to beat. Just a few steps from the hotel entrance is the Blaha Lujza tér M stop for trams 4 and 6, which run 24/7 every 1–2 minutes. These trams travel along Budapest's famous Grand Boulevard, passing everything from major railway stations to charming souvenir shops. Speaking of souvenirs, here's my top tip for fellow Nemzeti guests: visit the second floor of the Central Market Hall. You could easily spend hours browsing the stalls, and buying authentic Hungarian paprika is an absolute must! The M2 metro station at Blaha Lujza tér is also just steps away, making it easy to reach the magnificent Parliament Building in just a few minutes. During our stay we also visited the Zoo, the Fővárosi Nagycirkusz (Budapest Circus) next to the zoo, Rudas Baths, Palatinus Pools on Margaret Island, and many other attractions. The area around the hotel has everything you might need. There are several 24-hour tobacco shops, the Europeum Shopping Center with Müller, where you can buy almost anything except groceries, and the Time Out Market Budapest, a department store transformed into an exciting food hall. A Lidl supermarket, pharmacy, and many other useful shops are also right next door. If you're looking for a hotel with beautiful historic architecture, exceptional service, fantastic food, and one of the best-connected locations in Budapest, Nemzeti Hotel Budapest is an excellent choice. One final piece of advice: buy the paper 3-day public transport pass rather than the app version. With the paper pass, you simply show it if requested, whereas the app requires scanning each time you board, which quickly becomes inconvenient. Highly recommended-I would happily stay here again!
We had a truly lovely stay and enjoyed every part of our experience. The breakfast was absolutely delightful, with a great variety of fresh and tasty options that made our mornings feel relaxed and special. It was clear that a lot of care went into both the food and the presentation. The service throughout our stay was consistently kind and welcoming. Everyone was friendly and helpful, which made us feel comfortable and well taken care of from the moment we arrived. The room was clean and tidy, and the overall cleanliness of the hotel met our expectations perfectly. A special thank you to Gábor for his kindness and attentiveness. He was incredibly thoughtful and made a real difference in our stay. We were especially grateful that the hotel allowed us to keep our luggage there while we went out to explore the city this small but very helpful gesture made our last day much easier and more enjoyable. Thank you for the hospitality and the warm atmosphere. We truly appreciated the care and attention, and we would happily recommend this hotel to others.
