Itinerary
Welcome to the wonderful world of waffles and beer! We are here to tell you that it is absolutely possible to make waffles with beer - in fact, this is actually the most traditional way to enjoy your waffles. So join us for a hands-on workshop where we combine an exciting beer tasting with an all-you-can-eat Brussels waffle fest. We will serve you 3 great local Belgian beers (no generic brands here!), and you will have a wide range of options to top and decorate your Brussels waffles. Of course, you can also use beer to make your waffles. And during the whole activity, your host will also take you through some interesting historical facts and curiosities about everything related to waffles and beer. This activity can be fully veganized, and we do offer alcohol-free beer for the waffles if requested. Since this is also a beer-focused activity, we do not offer a gluten-free option for the beers. If you wish to do a gluten-free activity, you can check out our traditional waffle workshop instead.

My daughter loved making her own waffles and putting on her own toppings. The leader was so so good. She was full of information and explained everything clearly. She was really fun and kind too. The waffles tasted really good!!
It was a very nice and concise cooking class! Great for solo travelers, can easily be done on your own and it’s easy to meet new people there.
Excellent workshop. We made and eat many yummy waffles. The instructor was excellent and taught us many interesting facts about waffles and waffle history
We had a great time - you get to pick how many waffles you make the batter for and do everything yourself! They give you unlimited drinks and the topping selections for your waffles were delicious. Would recommend!
We had fun making the waffles, and they were delicious. However, there was not much content other than receiving a recipe and being told to make the waffles. All of the ingredients and waffle irons were shared with the group. Only 3 of the 9 participants really got to do anything. There were no instructions if you are new to cooking. My son had no idea how to separate an egg or how long you needed to whip an egg white until I showed him.. I think more effort could have gone into explaining how certain ingredients contribute to the taste or texture of the waffle. It was not much of an experience. I could have looked up the recipe online and had the same experience.
Unorganized. Ran out of strawberries, whipped cream and caramel sauce. Floor hadn't been swept for days at least. Not really all you can eat. Only enough batter to make 2 each. Enough for most. Lots of waiting for an available waffle iron
The place it self was a bit hard to find. The sign is only on the door, that is why I gave it only 4 stars. The teacher was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a class of 4 so it was just the right size.
Great experience, organised well, staff friendly and a fun experience. Got to eat yummy waffles as well. Would recommend.
Great fun. We went as 3 friends and met a lively couple that we could not stop chatting to. The instructor was calm and the atmosphere was great. Good vibes and a good laugh :)
We had a blast learning about the different types of waffles and making and decorating them. They were delicious and the toppings were varied. The instructors were funny and helpful. The only drawback I saw was that there were only 3 waffle irons and a ton of people needing to use them. I had not even had my first waffle when the instructor called a 10 minute time warning for time to clean up. I'd suggest having at least 4-5 waffle irons available. We were able to take the extra home with us at least.
First, let me start by saying that the staff is great and attentive, waffles came out delicious, incredibly delicious. We even took some home and they still tasted heavenly after a couple of days in the fridge. With that being said, the logistics of the workshop are what left us with a negative feeling about the whole process . Location: the workshop is located not in a best safest neighborhood (this is purely my opinion). My kids and I walked there and at times I did not feel comfortable. This is an ethnic neighborhood and I would have preferred not to walk there alone with young children. Second: it is very hard to find the door to the actual workshop. There is no sign on the building/above the door. Just a small white paper posted on the door with printed announcement that this is a waffle workshop. I had to walk around the block a couple of times looking for the place . Next: I believe there are 4 (or 5 waffle irons). With the amount of people the company books per workshop, they should work on the logistics of using the machines. There were large families up 10 people, with 2-3 bowls full of batter. Each time it takes 3.5-4 minutes to make waffles. These big families will take up machines and won’t leave till they have gone through all their batter. That can be up to 30 minutes wait time for others. Very frustrating. My kids and I had to wait 20 minutes to get to a machine. Perhaps it’ll make sense to take turns, make one set of waffle, step aside and let others use the machine for 1 set, then another family/person etc, make guests rotate. Don’t make them wait for 30 minutes to make 1 waffle. That was very frustrating, especially if you have younger kids who are eager to try waffle. And at some point the staff starts asking you to leave as they have to prepare for the next group and you barely got to a waffle machine after waiting for such a long time. Next: no staff is present while guests are making waffles, so, again, no one can really organize the line and waiting for a machine. At some point I had to ask a family of 10 people to please let us use a machine for my kids. Next: we paid PER person but got 1 (!!!!) bowl per family to make batter. That isn’t really fair. We just came back from a Chocolate workshop before that, where we paid per person and got ingredients to make chocolate PER person. Not this waffle place. I paid about €70 for 3 of us at the waffle place and €200 at the chocolate place. You can clearly see the difference which place catered to guests at a much higher levels. One of the iron machines was broken which we only discovered when we already poured the batter in. Waited 5 minutes into to find out the batter went to waste. No staff was present to check the machines before hand. We had to go look for someone to Let them know our batter was wasted. Staff did provide us with new ingredients to make a new portion of dough after that Last: I guess you can’t make people clean up after themselves. Especially if you paid for a workshop. But again, staff wasn’t present to clean up. But the time my family made one set waffles, there were banana peels everywhere, dirty cutlery, dirty dishes…Very unpleasant Again, waffles came out delicious, but logistics wise and location wise, I would not recommend this place. One of the cases where you get what you pay for. Don’t save on your kids’ memories
Great fun and very informative. Fun thing to do with kids and teenagers and would definitely recommend
Traveling with another family with a tween and older child, this was a fantasize experience for all of us! The environment was family focused but provided a safe place for everyone to learn something new and engage with each other on a different level. The waffles were wonderful as well!! Such a cleaver idea and very well organized!! Must do!!
Excellent Belgium waffles handmade by ametures! Great instructor and she even cleaned up after all of us!
This was a fun experience with my family. Jack the instructor was friendly and engaging. My teenagers really enjoyed themselves. The waffles were delicious.
Great experience with great instructor and toppings. The instructor was English speaking and walked us through the process and was attentive. Delicious waffles
Great day - A lot of fun, yummy waffles. The teacher was excellent. He explained things very well and clearly.
The workshop is amazing. The host is very knowledgeable and approachable. The setting is beautiful and the waffles taste amazing. There is a huge choice in toppings including sauces, fruit and cream
Not much to this, you were given a printed recipe and told to follow it. A bit of history at the start though. The instructor was friendly.
Even though are instructor was nice the class itself had to many people. My son and I did not enjoy the class needs to have better directions written and done with a smaller groups
Fun time for kids and adults. Learned a little about the history of waffles and the difference between what tourists eat vs what locals eat.
Such a fun idea. We were in Brussels for the day and with lots of sight seeing and walking we thought this would be the perfect idea in the middle of the day. Jose and John were great hosts and showed us how to make the waffles. We were a group of 3 and had 1 bowl with all of the ingredients. We had to share the waffle makers but we all took turns and added our own toppings, there were lots of variety on offer. I would recommend 👌
Authentic and just right in terms of time. Host gave some background which was a plus and offered different variations for the toppings on the waffles.
It was ok, I thought it would be an individual cooking class for the cost but it wasn't you are in your family group so the three of us around one bowl making waffles only 3 irons so had to wait your turn. The staff are lovely
I would love to learn how to make the LIEGE waffles. Is that offered during another workshop or can you suggest where I could do this?
We booked for myself and 2 children. My husband has MS and can’t use his hands so was unable to participate but wanted to sit and watch. The owner told him he had to go or pay for a place. She was very rude and told him it was like going to the cinema for free! She wasn’t interested in his disability or being accommodating. It’s rare for someone not to be kind about his disability so it was upsetting. This ruined the experience somewhat. The actual cooking was fun although it did seem a shame that they couldn’t supply enough equipment or recipes for each group as it did mean waiting for others to finish. The actual waffles were nice but I wouldn’t recommend if you have any additional needs!
The best was eaten after. Better without music or really low level because there are not English native speakers and the music disturb and difficult the understanding
Jose was a great host he made it fun very entertaining super friendly and attentive he was amazing thank you for making our visit so fun. ☺️
It was a great experience. Dani was amazing at explaining the history and different types of Belgium waffles. We then got to make a lot of waffles and top it with whatever we wanted! Maria gave a lot of good recommendations of what else to do in Brussels too!
Great hosts. Interesting facts about waffles. PLENTY of waffles and toppings! Roughly an hour and a half and lots of fun.
A lovely workshop ! The host was so friendly and made us feel at ease . Very easy to make the waffles and they tasted delicious with lots of toppings to choose from . Great session ! Thank you !
This was a really fun activity for our family. We befriended so many others from around the world. The presentation before we made our first waffles was entertaining and funny and informative. The photo ops were great! The waffles were delicious and we could make a big batch to takeaway or just enough to top and finish. Highly recommend. 😀
This workshop was a lot of fun, lots of history on the waffles, they tasted delicious too. The workshop was run by very nice people. Workshop was a little difficult to find though .
I went on a solo trip to Brussels and this activity really added to the overall experience. The instructor was fun and welcoming. I would recommend!
We had a great time with our hostess. We had a fun class about the different types of waffles. We got to make our own batter, and then eat and eat and eat! We had so many topping we couldn’t even use them all. There was fun music playing in the background, and it was a party atmosphere with people from around the world. Everyone should do it at least once!
Absolutely loved this workshop! Fantastic recipe! Informative, fun and bubbly host - Amelia really made this an experience that was memorable!! Great choice of ingredients and toppings! I’d go again! Definitely worth doing if you are in Belgium and more so Brussels! 5*
A must do when in brussels. The chef s there guided us well through the process and the best part was you cud make and eat as many waffles as u want....with endless toppings available to choose from.
Really great workshop with a bit of history thrown in too. Went with my son & we both really enjoyed it & got to take away the waffles that we couldn’t eat! Really recommend it for an afternoon of fun
Was great fun understanding the history of waffles and then getting to make them ourselves. Would definitely recommend not eating before the workshop as they are very filling! Is fairly expensive for what you get but is definitely a more unique experience than just buying one from a shop
We did this experience on our first morning in Brussels and had just the very best time! The cooking was a truly delightful experience - and holy smokes are the Brussels waffles yummy. Be sure you come hungry. Be sure you're also ready to learn as there is apparently a LOT to know about waffles. What great fun!
It’s was a fun end educational workshop. Learned the difference between a street waffle and a regular waffle. Would be fun to do with your kids. The best part was tasting them and bringing the extra waffles home
This was sort of fun but not really a class. I guess I was expecting to go through each step and maybe get some ideas on how to make both sweet and savoury waffles. What it was was here are the ingredients, here’s the recipe, go make some waffles. We did get a bit of an explanation between the different types of waffles so that was nice.
It was a great experience! I did this my first day in Brussels and it was such a fun (and delicious) time. Learned some great tips about making an actual Belgium waffle (not a “street waffle”) and am happy to go home with the recipe to make them again!
My friend and I decided to book the waffle workshop on a rainy day and it was perfect! Fun experience.
What an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon in Brussels! Learned fun facts, met new people and made delicious waffles. Only wish we had more time, we would have taken the chocolate- making class as well. The place is a little hard to find because it's not well marked but well worth the extra effort.
We couldn’t have enjoyed this activity more! It was casual, fun, and very tasty! The atmosphere was suited to all group types too- families with young children,
Loved this activity! Experiencing the culture of a city through food - a fun and tasty event! The timing of everything was well planned, the free spirited nature of the event, and the tasty waffles are not to be missed! 10 out of 10 in our eyes!
This was A cute experience and a fun thing to do when in Brussels. I thought it was a bit expensive for what it offered and there was very little history of waffles, etc. Our guide Ike was very friendly and kind but I would have liked to know a little bit more about Belgian waffle making. Nevertheless, the atmosphere was fun and it was a nice afternoon.
Great workshop. I arrived late due to the fact that I wasn't familiar with the area. Even though I was late, I was let in and brought up to speed and got the opportunity to make my own waffles. I had a great time and met a great couple while I was there so I would definitely recommend this workshop.
