Brussels Private Tour With Locals: Highlights & Hidden Gems

Brussels was so worth getting a local guide. My husband and I both said we’d be lost if we didn’t. Our guide Tiago was so pleasant and shared lots of information about Brussels .

Timing did not work with cruise ship docking times. Could not cancel day before. Transportation not readily accessible from docks. Guide was very amenable but Viator was not.

This tour is not of the most famous places but provides a complete account of the history of Brussels and the locations where they happened. Eric displayed a passion for the history of his town and recommended dining and snacking locations

Our guide Tiago made this tour educational, informational and just plain fun. He tailored the tour to meet out old bones needs, without skipping a thing. He treated us to a taste of the finest chocolate and recommend many restaurants. In between it all he had us laughing at his jokes giving us the local take on all the places not to go. I have seldom enjoyed my tours more than today. What and amazing man, and handsome too.

The your was very informative and interesting. The guide asked us what we wanted to see and where we had already been. He started out the tour by taking us to the top of the tallest building with the best view so he could give a layout and history of the city. It was a great tour and he was a super friendly guy. Eric was superb! He knew so much about the history of Belgium. I was particularly grateful when he pointed out the brass name plates on the ground outside of the homes those who perished during WWII lived. He is also funny and kind. I have accepted his offer to become ambassador of Belgian fries!!! I recommend this tour 100%!

Delightful guide and great overall experience. Despite an incredibly hot day, our guide kept us moving and engaged throughout our tour.

I’d love to review this tour, but it never took place! First, I was contacted by the Guide with a request to move the tour up three hours. We could not accommodate him, but we were able to move it up by one hour. Next, I got a request to change the meeting place. Then, I was informed I had a different guide. On the day of the tour, I got an email that the entire thing had been canceled! It was a bad experience with Trip advisor! The original tour guide did call me the day after, with an offer to try and reschedule – but we were unable to do so. I realize things happen, but this was very disappointing to us both!

Tiago is amazing! My wife and I booked a 3 hour private tour. We arrived into Brussels the night before and did some exploring on our own, but the following morning, we began our tour with Tiago at 9:30am. Tiago was the perfect combination of knowledgeable, personable, and entertaining. Those qualities made the tour one of a kind, and the 3 hours went by so fast! We also liked that he asked us questions about our interests so he could cater the tour to us. We recommend booking in the morning to help you get the lay of the land, and then you can explore any places that caught your eye more on your own the rest of the day. Bonus points to Tiago: A few hours after the tour, we bumped into him at one of the brewpubs he recommended, and he let us know about another spot that we had asked about earlier. Above and beyond!

Our guide Asefeh was the perfect guide for us through Brussels. She gave just enough information about each attraction to keep the tour interesting. She took us to all the main spots of Brussels and then shared some Personal experience with suggestions on restaurants and where to get the best chocolate, waffles and frites! I would recommend this tour and Asafeh if you are looking all the main attractions inside Brussels

We had an amazing private tour with Tiogo. He was on time and exactly where we were told to meet him. He was extremely knowledgeable and very understanding of our expectations and enthusiastic. He took us to local chocolate shops, waffle shops, the cathedral. He also showed us how to access the metro and get our tickets back to Amsterdam. He was very accommodating. This was our first visit to Brussels, with only a day to spare, and the tour was an excellent introduction to this fascinating city. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Our guide fell ill and they sent a different person. Our guide was nice but wasn’t very knowledgeable. He would frequently say I don’t know to basic questions regarding the city. We only saw a fraction of the sites on the tour list. We travelled in for a day trip to Brussels from Paris and it wasn’t at all what we hoped to see. I would’ve much rather the tour got cancelled. We could’ve made alternate arrangements and stayed in Paris. It was a waste of precious time and money.

We did a private walking tour. Our guide was very informative and seemed passionate about the area. She was very nice and was patient w/ us whenever we wanted to stop and shop or get a coffee. We didn’t know much history of Brussels and feel like we learned a bunch. Wear comfortable shoes, much walking on cobblestone streets.

We cannot say enough about how wonderful Eric, our tour guide was. He was incredibly accommodating and reached out to us a couple of times before our scheduled tour date to make sure that we could find a good place to meet. He was a very knowledgeable guide and was very patient, never rushing us at all. He took us to all of the major highlights in Brussels as well as some hidden gems. He also gave us great recommendations for the best chocolate store to visit and beers to drink. The time went by very quickly. I would highly recommend this tour and especially our tour guide Eric.

I had the best guide, Eric!! I chose a custom tour over a group walking tour because I am not used to waking much and have difficulty with stairs and hills, so I wanted a tour focusing on the must-see sights and did not want to slow down others on a group tour. Eric designed a tour just for me that was all downhill or flat!! He contacted me in advance to find out what I was/was not interested in and designed the tour with that in mind, and added “hidden gems” I didn’t even know I wanted to see! He even included a special request of mine not on a typical tour—to see Audrey Hepburn’s birthplace! Eric is very knowledgeable about the city’s history, and a fascinating and engaging storyteller! I learned so much and enjoyed the free chocolate tastings at a couple of the best chocolatiers! The pace was perfect (both the time spent at each sight and the pace of walking). Highly recommend asking for Eric Lamp as your custom tour guide!

Brussels was Beautiful and Eric our guide made it very enjoyable . The time went by so fast . He explains things very well and knows his history! I will ask for him as a guide next time we visit!!

Eric gave us a great, informative, and exciting provate walking tour of Brussels. Even my teenagers enjoyed it. Eric customized the tour to accommodate our interest in art nouveau architecture and showed us some amazing works of that style. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. Fabulous tour! Our guide, Asefeh, was probably the best private tour guide I’ve ever had! She was very knowledgeable about the history of Belgium and gave us interesting facts about each of the sites we visited. She packed quite a bit into our 3 hour tour, which was great. Asefeh also shared her thoughts on the best places to get various foods. Her recommendation for the best mussels in Brussels was spot on. I would definitely recommend this tour, especially with Asefeh!

Our private tour guide was Asefeh Ghadiri. The BEST guide ever! She was extremely knowledgeable about Brussels, kind, patient, and full of interesting details about our journey. She was very patient as we stopped a few times to buy jackets and umbrellas because it was raining a bit. She even took our pictures and they came out great!

Triago was an amazing person and full of incredible knowledge! He made the trip so much fun and we could not have been happier. We were impressed with his stories and insight as well as his suggestions on where to go and what to do. This is something I highly recommend to anyone!
