Absolutely shocking service from Viator… I spent hours trying to sort out 3 trips being passed around in circles…. Got no where! Eventually I called. Not realising it was an overseas number, I got a phone charge of £46. Spoke to Viator eventually via email, but they weren’t interested. The trip itself was excellent. but next time I’ll find another supplier

This was one of the most fun I have had in a long time and I don't even drink. Just to get a knowledge as to why Beer is so popular all over the World. Loved the whole experience where my daughter and I could finish testing our knowledge as to what we had gone through too. The Roof top restaurant was wonderful and as we said that we don't drink, they even offered us a non alcholic drink. Thank you Tyler for taking the extra trouble of finding a drink for us. Oreste , you were great too. There were other people who helped us and we loved the whole experience.
It is located in the Bourse (the old stock exchange) and there are good views of its architecture as you walk through the exhibits. Lots of information about beer and how it is brewed. Interesting beer related quotes from people including Frank Zappa, Benjamin Franklin, Plato and WC Fields. At one point there are samples of three different beers to sample. At the end you go up to the rooftop bar where your ticket gets you a beer. There are many to choose from. The views up there are excellent. Note you don't have to go on the tour to go to the bar. Anyone can take the elevator up from the ground floor and buy some beer.
There was so many stairs to climb, our mam is 86 years old and we are all in our 60 years. There was a lift but only staff are allowed to use it. That was really the only problem, if they had warned us about the amount of stairs we wouldn’t have done this experience. They sell tickets to seniors but don’t really have anything in place for them.
Very interesting with a lot of information. Great tastings. It was raining when we got up to the roof but was enjoyable anyway.
I am not sure I enjoyed this as much as I thought I would. The admission was a fair price and you can stay as long or short as you like but around the tour without a guide, I am not sure how interesting I found it. I think I was expecting to see more actual objects used in beer making rather than mostly interactive screens. The sample of beer was nice at the end on the rooftop terrace, but what spoiled that was Brussels I found to be a dirty city and this was no exception. Looking over the balcony it is filthy. Clean up!!!
Well done general information about Belgian beer industry. Interactive displays worked well and were interesting. Liked the beer on the roof top. We also found the archeological site interesting. The building itself is beautiful.
Fun and interesting but not extravagant. The rooftop is really nice with good views and brews.
This was a good way to spend an hour in the city when I had no other plans, but do not trip over yourself to book it or think it is a 'must-do'. The actual museum part itself is disappointing. It is clearly trying to be tech-forward but the displays were repetitive and I found there was no solid structure. I didn't even realise it had started at first, everything was in a big spacious room and felt disjointed. The short film was very enjoyable. The staff were great - I think his name was Michele, he was very friendly and knowledgable. I went on a Thursday around 2pm and so there weren't many of us, if I had gone when it was busier/more crowded I think I would have had a bad time as the rooms get very hot and there doesn't seem to be any seating or air conditioning. The rooftop bar was a highlight with good views. It was around twenty euros which I think is reasonable but I would not pay again.
Disappointing visit. Overpriced, repetitive presentations, machine to personalise beer mat broken. Advertised discount on entry costs not honoured. Enjoyable 6 minute video on yeast, small tasting (2 small tubes), and one 'free' drink in the very busy public bar. Definitely would not recommend, too pricey. Go to a brewery or one of the many excellent bars for tastings instead.
This was a great experience in a fantastic building. Interactive, interesting and I’d say good value for money when compared to other venues/activities. Perhaps it helps that I love beer!!!
This was the 2nd beer museum my husband and I have done in Belgium ans this was ok for what it was. The information was very indepth and thorough but that did mean a lot of reading throughout the self-guided tour. The museum is in a beautiful building and its over multiple floors. You get two large shot glasses of beer midway through but there was no leaflet or information on what you are drinking and the woman serving really didn't appear to want to be there and wasn't particularly friendly. There is a lack of seating throughout the venue and there is no air conditioning so it gets really hot in there when you're walking around. In the giftshop, we didn't buy anything however we both won a free beer using the spin to win wheel which was a great addition. Regarding the rooftop bar, the views are incredible but thats all really. Inside its extremely hot without any air-conditioning, its absolutely stinks or urine and vomit, like you would expect at a nightclub at 4am which was extremely off putting when trying to enjoy my free beer. The queue for the beer was really long and there was no reserved seating for ticket holders so we didn't stay long or order any food as there were no tables available. The beer we had was very good, just the experience as a whole could be improved.
Super fun experience and learned a lot. The building is also beautiful in and of it's self. The tasting, and the rooftop really make it worth while. The view is so lovely. I had a raspberry beer, and it was perfect!
Unfortunately we weren't very impressed. I know it's a museum rather than a brewery, but it wasn't very interesting in our opinion. We also felt it was expensive. Could also benefit from some air conditioning
This experience was just okay. I went in June and it was so hot! It’s self guided and at your own pace. You get two shot glass size beer tasters, but they don’t even give you any information about what you’re drinking, they just hand it off. It’s a lot of reading if you want to learn about the history and whole beer making process—but there’s a virtual show upstairs that’s pretty neat! Up on the rooftop, you get one beer that’s included but the line is long and it’s extremely hot, no fans or air conditioning either. The view is nice, but the outdoor patio is hot too!
Great place with amazing beers. Museums very cool, only complaint is that it’s slightly too warm. Amazing views of the city from the roof top. Not at fault of the venue, but the stairs up to it were all covered in urine from presumably the night before - it stank and my shoes were sticking to the concrete so be warned haha. Very friendly staff all speak great English - be sure to leave a tip!
For admission fee (20€) you get a taste of sampling and one beer of your choice at the rooftop bar. Museum is located in the ex-stock exchange which is interesting building per se. Walking thru all the stages of the process of brewing a beer was a good experience and it was not crowded. The rooftop bar may be a surprise - a view over the centre of Brussels is gorgeous! Recommended.
I was hoping for a guided tour, instead this was a display more than anything with some displays and pictures to read. It was also so hot inside that I wanted it to be done. The part where you got two free samples, no one really explained them they just handed them to you. The weird movie room was the best part because it was air conditioned. Perhaps if it was cooler I would have enjoyed my time reading the material. The gentlemen at the end suggesting beers was great. I appreciated his input.
This is a very interactive experience, but can be very reading heavy. Maybe i’d do a guided tour next time. The view from the roof is fantastic and the beer selection is enormous.
We stopped by because we had spare time and am glad we did. You can spend as much or as little time as you wish. The exhibits are interactive and I learned more than I thought I would. It was surprising when the walls automatically closed in a room and then the walls taught us about fermentation. The roof top bar has a huge selection of styles.
Interesting experience in a beautiful building! I was visiting the Belgian Beer World Experience with some friends. We really enjoyed it, it was not boring and the beer was included. They have a very nice rooftop bar, where you end your visit and enjoy the beer with a view over Brussels. Also wanted to mention that the building itself is incredible, an old stock exchange. They have a free audio app, where they are also telling some stories about the building. So, it was very enriching and fun.
Beer world was part of my 24 hr solo travel vlog weekend. It is well located in a stunning building a street back fromm the grand place. Overall the attraction is set out well, very clean and there is lots of information. IF when you visit these type of attractions you are one to read every bit of info put Infront of you then great, you'll be here for two hours no problem but if you prefer visual and interactive things then like me you'll be done in 20 minutes. There was a fair few interactive sections but it was very basic child like stuff, the only good bit was the beer recommendations part at the end (You answer some questions and it recommends some beers based on how you answer. They then print these onto a beer mat and you take it to the roof top bar and try a beer! I'm not sure what I was expecting but it has heavy on the long info boards and the interactive stuff was too basic for my liking. The entrance staff were friendly, the staff at the midway point where you try the beers not so much as they seemed confused that I was there. The girls said things like oh have you finished the tour, you try the beer at the end. I don't know why they would say this (how would they know how long I've been in there?), they then tried to direct me up the stairs it's as if they didn't want to give me the two shot glass sized beers to try it was most awkward. I had rooftop bar entry as part of my trip, this was really good as the weather was nice BUT it was very busy on the roof and it took a while to get a table. The only way down is one of the two elevators but one was broken so I had to wait in a queue for 20 mins to get out (there was no other way out it was jarring) Also one last thing it was HOT in there, not sure if they had the heating on but it was sweltering! I'd only recommend this if you really enjoy lots of reading I'll leave on a positive, the gift shop was good! Lots of Belgium beers to buy and all sorts of clothing, mementos etc.
A really outstanding museum experience. Fun, interesting, clever and interactive in an engaging way. Two tastings part way and then to finish with a beer 8n the rooftop bar was amazing. The view is another reason to come.
This is a fine exhibition but really a bit slow and repetitive for adults. There are plenty of simple interactive things that are very easy to engage with but some are really a bit simplistic. The things to read move very slowly (or maybe that's because I'm an adult native English speaker) and, although the time suggested for the visit is 1 to 1.5 hrs, I could have done it in 40/45 mins or less. The beer tasting is a good idea and the rooftop bar on a sunny day: great.
Brilliant informative, interactive tour, suitable for all ages! On four levels of a beautiful ex- exchange building. Airy, toilets on all levels (very clean and tidy) staff on hand to help/ explain how exhibits work. Reasonable entrance fee of 21.50 euros, which included free beer too. Sunny rooftop bar if you'd prefer to take thinks at a slower pace.
That is an hour of my time I’m never getting back. Doors didn’t open until 10.31. Very child like self guided tour
It's an excellent interactive museum for all beer lovers! Also a wealth of information about the making of beer.
I wasn't sure if it'll be worth it but definitely was. Interactive elements, free beer tasting (two types) and finally a glass of beer at the terrace which offers great views. Enjoyed my time there. There was even a little bit of a movie shown. Would recommend.
We did the unguided tour (headphones) and it was very good. It is definitely designed for all ages so the info is basic but well delivered. There is ample space to walk around the building in which the museum is housed is beautiful. The beer tastings were nice and the staff helpful. One of our party was experiencing some hip pain and staff noticed and helped us elevators and shortcuts in a a couple spots to make her trip more enjoyable. The views for the roof top bar are awesome.
I absolutely loved my visit to the Belgian Beer World Experience in Brussels! It’s modern, interactive, and a really fun way to learn about Belgian beer culture. The setting inside the Brussels Stock Exchange is beautiful, and the rooftop tasting at the end was a perfect highlight. With a beer tasting and free paint on the rooftop included. I would recommend looking into the city pass I believe it has access to the museum included in the ticket among other attractions.
Enjoyed this experience from the interactive displays to the beer tasting. We walked around on our own, it was interesting and told us a lot of history on beer making, where it comes from and history . There was a beer tasting of two beers about half way around and then there was a roof top bar where the ticket included a glass of beer each. You had a great view of the city and could also buy more drinks if you wanted. It was not busy when we visited and comfortable to walk around. The staff were very friendly. We were probably here a couple of hours.
Spent a couple of leisurely hours maneuvering through the multi.floor experience. Thought overall they have done a good job at displays, interactive story telling board. I would would recommend with one caveat. Lots of talk of beer but one beer at the end included and three large shot glasses (tastes) part of the 20 plus euro ticket. Maybe 2 or 3 glasses at the end would be better. Great beer and great views from the top floor/ deck. Can recommend but now that you are getting a beer and a half for the price.
I went in a group of 4 one Saturday afternoon in Brussels. At 20 euros per person its not the cheapest thing to do. That said its fairly entertaining, and fills an hour or two depending how quickly you walk round or interact with the various activities. It is quite informative, and the building it is in is amazing. A few beer samples and then a drink in the rooftop bar topped it off.
Interactive tour round various screens etc with one small sampling station along the route. Your ticket gets you one free beer at the rooftop bar... We got the rooftop bar and large qué at every server. I was at front of the qué and completely ignored as the bar man served people to side/behind me after waiting over 15 mins. Reception staff and staff on tour nice but would not recommend. Complete waste of money
We had a mixed experience, the building itself was amazing and it was an interesting tour. The staff members at the reception and the tasting section where you got 2 samples were helpful and informative. However when we got to interactive part where you scanned the QR code to get a beer mat with suggested beers we experienced difficulties. We had problems with the scanning and the staff member was not interested in helping us, when we did eventually work it out and he printed our beer mat we realised that he was more interested in looking at motor homes on his iPad than doing his job. The views from the bar were great but again the member of staff was not interested in helping us choose a beer and we felt as if we were an inconvenience. Because of this we would not return.
We visited on New Years Eve to get the festivities rolling. We found the experience far exceeded our expectations! It was a good combination of fun interactive games/activities whilst also providing a great overview of the brewing process of Belgian Beer. Tasters halfway around were much appreciated as well as the free drink included with the ticket on the rooftop bar. There was a huge variety of beer on offer here plus the views here were great!
We visited the Belgian Beer World Experience in the Bourse (the former stock exchange) and it is well worth the experience. It explores the history of beer, how it is made and the role that beer has played in Belgium. As you work your way up to higher floors of the building, you end up at the rooftop bar that overlooks parts of Brussels including parts of the Grand Place. As part of the admission fee, you get a small beer sampling and then once you get to the rooftop bar you get your choice of a glass of beer from a very large selection of local beers! You can stay and buy additional drinks! It is a great way to spend an hour or two and the views from the rooftop bar are great!
I’m really impressed how The Bourse has been adapted to incorporate this modern museum. Even more impressive is how the interactive exhibits are all working. I know a bit about beer, but still learned something from the exhibits. At times some seem a little childish, but overall I think a good job has been done engaging all ages. You get to taste a couple of beers and enjoy a beer up in the superb Sky bar, which has great views over the city.
Not a great museum really. Aimed at kids it feels like. No real knowledge or expertise about how Beer is made. Should have booked a brewery tour rather than this. You get two small tasters of 2 beers, with a free beer at the roof bar. If it didn't have the roof bar my review would have been 1 star.
Fun and educational. Great design and visuals. Quiz at the end absolutely made the experience - being able to choose a beer and try it for free on the rooftop bar is an absolute must if you visit Brussels.
Fun, mostly interactive. Very educational, great visuals, good staff. Very passionate about their beer! Sky bar is a must.
I enjoyed the self guided tour of the Belgian beer world experience - It was interesting, I learnt about the history of Belgian beers and how they are made. There were displays of the different types of beers as well. I also enjoyed the tasting - I got to have a tasting of two of the beers and at the end of the tour I got a complimentary beer at the rooftop - which I really enjoyed, and bonus - I got a lovely view of Brussels city!.
We did the full package. We were only going to do the archeological museum in the basement but at the last minute added the whole package. so glad we did! The museum in the lower level was interesting, easy to navigate, self-guided. The Beer museum is a self-guided tour with interactive displays. Very interesting! And it culminates with a free beer on a rooftop bar with a fabulous view of the city. Highly recommend!
Great place to learn about different types of beer and how it evolved in Belgium. You are given a complementary shot for tasting beer as part of your ticket. And a glass of beer at the rooftop bar.
You will learn about the history of beer, how it was done then and now. You will learn about ingredients and beer making processes. There was quite a lot of repetition, and it felt like it was unnecessary big (meaning they struggled to fill the rooms). Beer tasting was good, just 2 different beers, but still! Save your ticket as it includes one beer in the skybar, which was super nice. The price quality ratio was ok. It's not a must-see attraction. But for example if it's bad weather, this will be a good way to stay dry and entertained. The building is beautiful!
It’s not a brewery tour. First tasting an ounce or two of bottled beer. The one free beer is ok, but not souvenir glass. View from rooftop ok, not great. Some staff nice, others wicked
A brilliant multi media interactive and information tour. The roof top bar is amazing for views of Brussels and the choice of beers is incredible.
Very fun experience. My husband is a competitive home brewer in the US and thought it was lots of fun. Very informative, fun interactions in a stunning location. Great 2 beer/and NA beer tasting included and a free beer on the rooftop bar.
We enjoyed the history of beer making in Belgium. They used a variety of techniques including hands-on activities, placards, comics, cartoons, an immersive experience, and lots of mock ups. It definitely made the experience more fun and kept us engaged. The create your own label and find what beer is best for you were fun games. As I am not a beer drinker, I appreciated the advice from the game as well as an employee. The free drink on the roof top bar is the perfect way to end your day. They have so many options you are sure to find a favorite! We booked tickets ahead of time but don’t need to.
Such a fun museum!! I was a little worried starting downstairs in the archeological area because there wasn’t a lot of information explaining this section. As we went thru each area it was quite fun and educational. The displays were great. There is a small tasting section and you end up with a free beer at the end on their rooftop bar. Everyone was very friendly. Plenty of bathrooms. I highly recommend.
