I had my flight cancelled unexpectedly due to Brussels airport strike and informed the hotel more than 24 hours in advance, with full proof. Their response? Absolutely nothing. No refund, no voucher, no date change, not even a minimal gesture of compensation. Their customer service was shockingly rigid and completely indifferent to a situation that was clearly outside my control. Instead of showing basic decency or flexibility, they chose to hide behind policy and charge the full amount anyway. If you expect professionalism, empathy, or even the slightest willingness to help, look elsewhere. This hotel proved they care only about taking your money, not about treating guests fairly.

Starting with the Arrival and Employees: I spoke to three employees, two of whom were able to speak English, which is good. But the service is terrible. To get to your assigned room, you can take the elevator, which is good for elderly people. The problem is that before you're able to walk to the elevator, which is at the other side of the hotel (roughly 50–70 meters), you have to walk down a couple of stairs. If you're an older individual with luggage, that can be difficult. I saw that situation happening, and the staff neither told the elderly woman that there's a second elevator hidden behind her, with which she could skip this staircase, nor did any staff member offer her help to carry down her luggage. That's terrible service. The room itself: The room is beautiful, except for the shower (it just needs some renovation), and the free water was very tasty in my opinion. But the Wi-Fi was useless. Neither the free Wi-Fi worked, nor did the Wi-Fi for which you get the password upon arrival. On top of that, the room is built like a bunker, which results in a non-existent connection to your own internet. I wasn't able to watch a YouTube video or a Netflix series properly. I couldn't even find the hotel with the Wi-Fi on Google Maps to review it. The only possible way to watch or Google anything was to switch the Wi-Fi on and off constantly because when it connected, it worked for a maximum of 10 minutes and then it was useless again, so you had to reconnect for 10 minutes again. Furthermore, there was a little complication with the room doors. My door chose by itself whether it locked itself or not, and I had to check it every time before leaving the room, and sometimes I had to lock it normally. The door of my family—which stayed in another room because there were only rooms for two persons—had no damper, so it fell extremely loudly shut. And finally our stay in total: We stayed one night and I don't know why, but for some reason someone began to drill a hole at 7:30 in the morning, and that someone couldn't do it in one try, so he drilled for 30 minutes. Nobody told us the hotel would undergo construction or warned us in any other possible way, which would have been the minimum. Summary: The hotel looks nice and expensive, but is poorly engineered and the service is at the low, mediocre end.
We stayed at NH Brussels Berlaymont for two nights as a family and booked two rooms. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend this hotel. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and spacious enough for a relaxing stay. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which made a huge difference, especially during the warm weather. We also really appreciated the little touches at reception, like the free candy and lemonade—they were a lovely welcome after a long day. Most of the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel at home. The only downside was that one member of the reception staff was particularly unfriendly, which was disappointing compared to everyone else. The only other small issue was the TV, as there weren't many channels to choose from. However, this wasn't a major problem since we didn't spend much time watching TV. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The comfortable rooms, excellent air conditioning, welcoming atmosphere, and kind staff made it a great experience. We'd happily stay here again!
Excellent hotel, extremely well maintained and the rooms are really nice. Decor is subtle but gives the impression of quality. The attached Bistro is quite expensive with a single soft drink (soda) and one of the cheapest options coming out at €25 with the service being a little slow as the staff were not around for a lot of the time, that may however have been due to the time I went to eat. The location is really good if you are attending the European Commission building which is next door, however the hotel is a sizeable walk from the major city centre, this is not too much of a problem if you are happy to use the bus or metro but for those who want to be in the thick of it, this is a little out of the way. Overall a very nice hotel, nice staff, well maintained and clean, with just the location possibly being a downside for some.
I was kindly selected as their „vip guest of the day“ and got a free upgrade, which of courde was amazing. The staff was very kind and speaks many languages. The rooms are nice, though maybe talk to the staff about your room if you habe trouble sleeping, as there is an active street that may irritate you. Wasnt a problem for me personally though. Its also nicely located at the european comission and has great transit connections and food spots nearby!
