Bed & Breakfast De Genval

Very beautiful and high-quality rooms and a wonderful bed. Good blackout curtains in the room. Pleasant communication with the owner regarding something that wasn't clear. I wouldn't order breakfast (brought to the room) again, but otherwise I am very, very satisfied. I will definitely be back!

I was very disappointed by the complete lack of service offered on the night of December 31st: no breakfast, no access to the common areas (bar, etc.). They refused to cancel my reservation even though it was their fault for not providing the promised service (if I had known there would be no breakfast on January 1st, I wouldn't have booked). The manager wouldn't listen to reason. They describe themselves as a guesthouse/B&B, but in my opinion, it's just an Airbnb. The only positive point: the room was spacious and indeed very nice... but the manager's lack of self-reflection ruined my experience, my New Year's Eve!

Beautifully decorated and spacious rooms ... but for this price, everything should be perfect down to the last detail, and that was certainly not the case! You can only find the B&B if you know the street name and house number, because the name of the B&B is nowhere to be found. You open the front door and room door with a code, because no one is present in the (impersonal) B&B. Upon arrival, the code worked, but when we returned after our dinner, the code no longer worked. No one could be reached by phone (answering machine), so we woke up the whole neighborhood until another guest (who got the fright of her life) came to open the door for us. In the morning, we were told that the code always works?!? For breakfast (€25/pp), we received 1 bread roll, 1 slice of bread, and 1 croissant per person. We asked for extra rolls but there weren't any :-( The website also promises that there is coffee, tea, and water in the room ... but we only found decaf coffee and tea bags, but no kettle and no water either. Our friends had cookies with their coffee in the room, but not us ... In the bathroom, a frayed towel. In short, a real disappointment. We are not coming back!
