A fantastic workshop. Fun and easy Highly recommended to do in Brugge and well worth the price we paid
Brilliant family experience for an afternoon in Bruge! Wonderful host, lovely setting and delicious beer and waffles. Highly recommended!
Great experience and something different from walking the streets of Bruge. We got to sample 4 beers, made a waffle mixture (in pairs) and learnt from the host about beers and waffles. You can take home uneaten waffles and the aprons which was a nice extra. I would recommend this experience. Points to note: - there are not many toppings. Just cream, chocolate sauce, smarties and then small packs of chocolate spread/jams. I was hoping for fresh strawberries, or more topping options like marshmallows, sprinkles, syrup etc. - The session is 1.5hrs but it takes almost 1 hour 10 mins to sample beers, make first set of waffles and decorate them. So it did feel a bit rushed to then only have 20mins to actually eat the first waffles and make extra batches. The host did say not to rush when time was up, but that should have been made clearer earlier. Most people ate maybe 2 waffles and then packed up the extra ones to take away with them. - If you give a review they will give you a beer to take away with you, so be aware of the high reviews! I did enjoy this experience but just want to make it clear what to expect
This was so fun! It’s a small group setting so you get to meet and talk to everyone. The beer tasting was very interesting our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the local beers. Waffle making was fun and delicious.
We had a terrific time at the workshop. First don’t forget the beer part which is very important since you have to choose which one to have in your waffle batter. Luckily you don’t have to rely on a tiny sip to make your choice, maybe a half a bottle is needed! And there are at least 4 beers to choose from. Making the batter following the precise instructions of the instructor was simple enough but owing to lots of questions and banter from the participants even that was fun. Then you have to eat them! Plan accordingly. You won’t need to eat again for a while. But you can wrap them up and take them with you. We ran our extras through the hotel’s toaster the next morning for breakfast!
The experience was brilliant from start to finish The host bram was outstanding with his knowledge and also his humour The waffles we made were delicious and the beers were great but also was great to learn of their history
We sampled 3 Belgian Beers firstly and then prepared Belgian Waffles from scratch with 12 other participants. Bram was a fun and enthusiastic host .
Host was a looooootttt of fun. You actually eat the waffle you make. The is history lesson and beer tasting was also fantastic.
Had a wonderful time with Cat today. She was an incredibly intelligent hostess. We had so much fun learning to make waffles which were delicious and the beer was also a plus.
Waffle making and beer tasting was amazing. We had so much fun with Stefan as our instructor we will definitely recommend to any friends and family traveling to Brussels. We were a party of 3 and all of us had so much fun. Can’t wait to try making our own waffles at home using the recipe that was given to us.
It was a fun way to try different beers and learn to make waffles!
Had a great experience today that lasted one and a half hours. Stefan gave a wonderful performance and explained about the different beers we got to taste today. Everything was ready for us to use when we got there and each couple shared a work station to make the waffles. They really were very good and we had a nice lot of options to choose to put on top of our waffles. We had a lovely group of people from all over the world and everyone got on well. We ate all of our waffles there but, those who couldn’t manage them had the option to take the leftovers home with them. It was a fun afternoon and throughly recommended. What could be better than eating freshly made hot waffles. There were other drinks available if you didn’t drink alcohol and we were offered bottled water as soon as we arrived.
Fun time with Michelle telling us about Bruges beer and Belgian beer. Learned some new things. Then on to hands on waffle making. Good activity to mix in with the touring and sites. Plenty to drink and eat.
Fun experience with fun people and a unique combo of beer tasting and waffle making! Learned a lot, ate a lot of waffles and drank some interesting beers! Location provided a good starting place for our Brussels visit!
A nice experience, well worth doing, learned a good bit of Belgian beer lore and made plenty of waffles
Great experience, plenty of beer
This was a fantastic experience in Brugge. Seven of us put on our red aprons (which you can keep) and our host Brecht told us all about Belgium beer and its history. Each beer we sampled had a higher alcohol content than the last. We sampled cherry, peach and a few other beers. Once the beer portion was complete we got down to the business of making waffles. Everyone had their own station and we made plenty of waffles to take home. There were delicious toppings and of course whipped cream. There were children at the event before us and I’m sure they have some non alcoholic options so that the kids can partake in this activity. Special shout out to Brecht because he was funny and the perfect host for this. We had so many laughs 10/10 recommend.
The best experience ever! So much fun… so many beer…..so many waffles! Highly recommend this activity!
So much fun! Our waffles turned out very well, but couldn’t eat them all! The beer was lovely and the guide was funny!
Great experience. Our host was great fun and very informative. Come ready for lots of beer and lots of waffles.
It was so nice, the Waffels were amazing, the beer aswell and the whole experience was just so so nice! Would defintly recommend it!
The title says it all. Be ready to drink, there's more beer than you probably expect. Great host and a lot of interesting details about Brugge and beer.
Do you like beer? Do you like waffles? If you said yes to either of these things, you will love this experience! We only had about 6 hours in Brugge and chose to spend an hour and a half of it at Waffles N’ Beer - and we are so glad we did! Our host, Bram, was incredibly fun and entertaining as he taught us about local beers, types of waffles, local history, and how to make the most delicious waffles I have ever tasted. We sampled three types of beers and then got to decide which beer to add to our waffle batter. Our family of four, including an 11-year-old and a 15-year-old, all got in on the waffle making. The experience was very inclusive and easily doable for people of all ages. And the best part? Eating the waffles! My goodness were they fluffy and delicious. Toppings galore were available including whipped cream, chocolate sauce, powdered sugar, jams and spreads, and more! We were stuffed silly by the end of the experience. We were even given the waffle recipe so we can make delicious Belgian waffles at home. If you are looking for a delicious interactive experience while you are in Brugge, this one is a must-do.
This was such a fun workshop experience!! Our instructor was warm, welcoming and really added to the experience. We learned about and sampled three different types of beer, and then made our own waffles from a Belgian recipe she gave us at the end. It was a fun, relaxed experience. We definitely would do this again and would love to try their chocolate & beer workshop, too.
A fun hour and a half, with amusing host Stephan. Beer tasting first with some fun facts. The mixing of all the ingredients was fun and well guided. End result delicious waffles to eat with lots of toppings and no washing up.
This was a fantastic experience. Stefan was very energetic and entertaining. The beer tasting was enjoyable and the waffle making was fun and engaging. There was lots of waffles to eat with fun toppings and lots to take home too.
We had the best time with Steven, so funny and friendly making everyone feel welcome and helping everyone at all times. Only suggestion would be it would be great if each individual was able to mix, batter etc in their own bowl rather than sharing between two. That being said great class
The waffles were light and delicious. Fun toppings. The beer samples were endless. Nice assortment of beers to sample.
This is a fun experience, our presenter Stefan was friendly, quirky and very knowledgeable. Well worthwhile.
It was a lot of fun, the beer and waffles were great and the instructor was really nice. We took waffles and the recipe with us, which was great.
Such a great experience. Bret (I hope I got his name correct), was an amazing a fun host. Nice, great energy, very knowledgeable and funny. I enjoyed the beer choices very much and I’m not a beer drinker. This experience was worth the price.
It was a lot of fun, our guide was very easy to follow and we got to try several different delicious beers.
I did this experience with my wife and 14 year old son. We all thought it was amazing. We have recently begun taking cooking classes on Viator when we travel, and I thought this was amongst the best I have participated in. You begin with a nice tasting of Belgian beers. Dad happy! Then you make belgian waffles. Mom happy! And my son enjoyed it as well. I took pictures and ate the waffles. So delicious! Our instructor was excellent and very personable. There was a group of young Dutch women also, and they mainly conversed in dutch, but I thought he did a nice job in interpreting what they asked and his response. Unnecessary, but went the extra mile.
We had a great time making waffles! The four of us ended up in a small class of only 7 people total. Our host had interesting stories about the beer we sampled and explained the different types of waffles. This class was recommended to us by friends who had lived in the Netherlands and taken the class before.
Waffles = Good, Beer = Good, Waffles + Beer = Great time!! Stefen was our host and was well informed on the history of Zot and the beer pipeline feeding the city. His quick wit and comedic personality made the class worth the time and the money.
Host was very friendly and group setting was fun. Good with kids, too. Nice learning about local beers. Highly recommend!
What a fun workshop to get a snapshot of Bruges culture! The story of each beer was fascinating, the beers and waffles were delicious, and the whole experience was a blast. If you’ve got an hour or so in Bruges, you should definitely go!
It was really fun! Knowledgeable instructor who was funny and likable - gave cool facts about the city.
This workshop was a nice diversion from walking through the beautiful streets of Bruges. Erik was a great leader. We tasted Belgian beers and made delicious waffles. Great experience overall
It was a hot day in Brugge and water and beer was plentiful! We loved trying Belgium beers and hearing about their history. We learned a lot about Belgium too! The waffles were fun and easy to make and delicious! This was such a fun part of our day! Highly recommend!
Learn how to make the tastiest, fluffiest waffles with beer tasting in-between! Luc led us through the workshop-- absolutely delightful. The workshop is well-organized and great fun for travelers of all ages. There are multiple locations in Belgium! Check it out~
Great hands on fun experience. Our guy was excellent. Beer was good our waffles not so much! Would recommend
We were warmly welcomed and put at ease. Introduced ourselves as there were other people there. German, Dutch and us British. We mixed up and introduced ourselves which broke the ice. Our host was amazing, very patient, knowledgeable about the excellent strong Belgium beers. We made our own waffles with various beers and were delicious and took our leftovers and sprinkle away to keep. Totally recommend going!!
Excellent couple of hours, good beers a so much fun. Would highly recommend. Great location near our hotel which was a bonus
Great experience to make your own Belgian waffles and sample some Belgian beer. Luc was our host and was great fun and very well organised. We all had a fabulous morning!
Did the Waffles ’n Beer workshop with friends and had a blast. You make your own waffles and pair them with Belgian specialty beers — simple concept, really well executed. Our host Luc was fantastic; kept the energy up and made the whole group feel at ease. Waffles to eat on site, extras to take away and drinks included at a very fair price. Highly recommend it.
Wonderful host and nice way to learn about Belgian bear and how to bake to bake Brussels waffles
Such a cool idea. Our host was fantastic, he gave such a great history of Bruge & Belgium and the Bruge Zot brewery. The waffle making was such fun and they tasted amazing! I so highly recommend this experience!
It was funny, informative and delicious!! Our instructor made the class with his humor and wit as well as learning some of the history within Bruge.
