Maria made our walking tour of Bruges an absolute highlight of our trip. Her wit and humour kept everyone smiling from the Markt through to the Rozenhoedkaai, and it felt more like an adventure than a history lesson. She brought the Belfry, Burg Square and the Bridge of Love to life with stories we would never have found on our own, and she kept the group engaged the whole way. Highly recommend Maria to anyone visiting Bruges. Thank you.

Very funny and informative! Awesome guide. Thank you!
Excellent and engaging even with kids. Thankyou Gosia! Excellent tour to start your trip to Bruges!!
Great way to explore the town and hear about homes, heroes, arts, history, architecture, statues, and more. Well paces and interesting.
Knowledgeable guide, excellent storytelling, great to do on your first day!
We took the Free Walking Tour of Bruges with Gosia and we loved every part of it! It was extremely interesting and fascinating to learn about the history and fun facts of the city from a local guide, and what a passionate and funny one! Highly recommended
Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. While it rained during our tour, she made the most of it. Would definitely recommend!
Arthur was an interesting guide, knowledgeable and fun. The tour was fun and engaged the teenagers. We tried a chocolate and some waffles. It was not constant facts so may not suit some people.
Excellent tour with a bubbly well informed guide.
Pascal was very knowledgeable about Bruges and conveyed his knowledge with charm, very entertaining! Highly recommend.
Maria is one of the best tour guides! She is extremely intelligent, knowledgeable, and engaging!! We learned so much from her. I’d love to book another tour with her. She provided an extensive historical timeline of Brugge and walked the group around the city. Wish the tour was longer. I highly recommend!!
Very impressed with all aspects of the tour. Thanks for making it both informative and enjoyable.
The guide was so knowledgeable and kept everyone interested
Filippo was our guide for the Storytelling Tours of Bruges and he was superb. Although Italian, he spoke perfect English and was able to speak Spanish and French as well. The two hours or so flew by as he entertained us with a mix of anecdote and historical fact. He spoke most of the time, apart from when we were moving from one area to the next. It was a great way of getting an overview of the city at the beginning of our stay and he gave us tips on other things to do in Bruges. The group was quite small, about 12 people so we were all able to hear him well. We also appreciated the trip to an artisanal chocolatier where we sampled the most delicious chocolate truffles. This tour was the highlight of our stay in Bruges. We unreservedly recommend it.
Perfect small town for a quiet and peaceful day trip Perfect small town for a quiet and peaceful day trip Perfect small town for a quiet and peaceful day trip
Gosia - thank you so much for such an enjoyable tour! We’ve been to Bruges a few times now and wanted to find out a bit more about the history (rather than just enjoying the chocolate on offer). We really enjoyed the tour. Gosia is made for this role! What a fabulous, warm and friendly woman who is so knowledgeable about this fabulous place. Thanks so much Gosia, you made our port day memorable ! Best wishes from Domanic and Scott (from the cruise).
Filippo’s tour was excellent. A huge range of insights into Bruges’ history and some really interesting links and associations that we’d never heard of. His enthusiasm and energy come across very well. We booked through Viator and they might be more specific about the start point as the square is pretty big. Anyway, two metres tall and yellow jacket and brolly if you need to know!!
Unfortunately we unknowingly booked the tour on the day of the Bruges Marathon. Therefore it was a bit difficult to hear our guide to start with and she preserved for surprisingly longer than expected at this spot despite acknowledging some of us couldn’t hear her. However once on the move the tour was enjoyable and informative . It should be a must as the first thing to do . There was lots of information about the best way to see things, free entries and good recommendations on where to eat. Also she pitched the historical info just right, not too many dates to remember but still capturing the historical facts.
Our guide Alasdair did an excellent job by providing us with a lot of new knowledge combined with many laughs. He carefully separated facts from legends. We can really recommend a tour with him
Our tour guide was Tom who was excellent. The right amount of history knowledge with added humour. We would definitely recommend doing this tour and if you get Tom it’s a bonus.
Gosia is a spectacular guide! She was great at keeping personal conversation and knew many interesting and niche facts about Bruges that we wouldn't have otherwise learned and made our stay there very memorable. Gosia went above and beyond, even taking photos of my boyfriend and I during the tour! The truffles she gave us at the end of the tour were delectable! We regretted not bringing more home than we did. Overall, Gosia truly made our stay in Bruges unforgettable, and an experience we will always fondly hold close to our hearts. (Thank you kindly, Gosia! 💌 your Canadian friends from August 25th) It is amazing that this walking tour is offered for free- but make sure you bring a bit of tipping cash to support your guide!
This was the best way to tour around Bruges and our guide Gosia was excellent. Good selection Viator!
Gosia was friendly, lively, informative and paced the tour well..A good introduction to Bruges
It was a great tour the leader was enthusiastic, funny, informative and energized
Guide was very knowledgeable, entertaining and personable. I would have given him 5 stars if he hadn’t excluded Leopold II and the Congo in his historical review because “it was shameful.” All countries need to own their full history and embrace truth-telling.
We booked the storyteller tour of Bruges and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our visit! Our guide Filippo spoke excellent English and was also able to converse in French, Spanish and of course his native tongue, Italian. Perfect for our multilingual group. The tour lasted two hours but the time flew by thanks to Filippo’s engaging and informative talk. He spoke almost the whole time and he achieved a good balance of historical, cultural and humorous details. We also loved the visit to the delicious chocolate shop!
What a great way to be introduced to a city. Alistair was fantastic - really knowledgeable and engaging to listen to. Definitely recommend it to everyone, history buff or not!
This was one of our favorite tours on our month long trip of Europe. Our guide was personable and entertaining. I only wish I could remember her name!! We were able to easily fill the rest of our days in Bruges with her recommendations.
Alastair was extremely witty and knowledgeable about Bruges, he brought the history of the city to life which made it very entertaining. He explained in great detail all the major events which shaped the city and the 2 hours we spent with him were very enjoyable, we could not recommend him enough! If you only do one tour while you’re there, this one will cover all you need. We had another tour the next day which was very disappointing compared to this one. Would highly recommend to all visitors.
Our tour of Bruges with Alasdair was a great introduction to the city. He brought the city to life with great stories and conversation, and he gave us tips to make the most of our visit. Highly recommend!
Alasdair was a very enthusiastic guide! He told us a lot of stories about Bruges. He knows a lot about the city and its history. And he tried to pronounce some Flemish/Dutch and French words….it took a whole day before we found out that his ‘wollevin’ the famous dish ‘Vol au Vent’ meant 😉
Our tour was both fun and informational. Gosia, our guide, was fantastic! We learned a lot about the history of Bruges and had a lot of fun seeing the sights. I highly recommend!
Maria was just brilliant. She brought the City and history to life in a very entertaining and enthusiastic way. Fabulous… highly recommended!
More cutesy joking and silly tourist jabs than an actual informational tour, learned very little about the actual history of Bruges, and our guide never shut up about every little Maria statue in the city, or the stupid movie about Bruges
Excellent overview for a first day in Bruges. Wear comfortable shoes; lots of walking on cobblestone streets.
This was definitely a worthwhile tour, especially since we went in the evening. The guide was great, good humor and informative. A history teacher by day and guide by nights and weekends.
Fun funny and informative guide. Thoroughly recommended
Gosia managed to make us forget about the rain we had during our tour. Her stories were insightful and a joy to listen to! Thank you for your tour Gosia! Hope to see you again. - Guy with the beautiful girlfriend 😜
We spent a fantastic two and a half hours with our guide, Gosha, exploring the city. She made a pouring rain morning into a fun introduction to the city. Gosha was a great storyteller who knew so much about Bruges obviously a place she loves. She was full of interesting information and introduced us to beautiful sites and activities. She gave us suggestions of places to explore further on our own, which we did. Never have we had a more enthusiastic guide!!!
This is a tour you shouldn't miss! Gosia had so many interesting places to show us and historical facts to share. She took us to places we wanted to see more of and wish we had another two days to do so! Gosia is a fun person and passionate about what she does! We thoroughly enjoyed her tour of this town with so much history and beauty. We had a very yummy chocolate truffle tasting too.
Alasdair was a great tour guide in Bruges! He had a great attitude and a lot of great stories! He was flexible given the weather and we had a great time! He had some great recommendations after as well.
Excellent tour. Informative and entertaining tour guide. Pascal was awesome.
We enjoyed our tour with Pascale he was an enthusiastic, funny and interesting storyteller. The walk was easy and flat and at a very gentle pace. We finished at the Half Moon brewery with a beer.
We had an excellent tour with Arthur this afternoon. He has an awesome memory, remembering the guests names and an amazing amount of Brugge and world history. He is an engaging speaker and kept everyone's attention throughout the tour. I highly recommend this tour.
As we had been to Bruges less than a year ago, we opted to take this Storyteller tour to hear something different. What a friendly, funny, and highly animated guide Alasdair was! It was fascinating to hear his lively stories about key figures in the history of Bruges. My wife and I also appreciated that there were frequent stops to hear the stories, with no more than 2-3 minutes walking in-between stops. That is helpful for those who don’t walk as fast as others. You never fall behind nor feel rushed to catch up in fear of missing something. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour despite the unexpected rain.
Originally, I would’ve given this to her a higher score, but I’ve reached out to the tour operator through several channels and have not gotten a response. The day of our tour it was raining and as a result, we arrived a little late. I would’ve thought they would’ve waited a little bit for later arrivals since the weather was crummy. I reached out to the tour operator about doing a tour later in the day or I’m back in the future and have not been able to get a response.
We really enjoyed our tour with Artur. We learned so much about the history and stories of Bruges. Artur was entertaining and a great storyteller. We did the tour on our first morning in Bruges and it has helped us to make the most of our trip.
Maria was wonderful. I had no problems hearing her and her story telling was great.
Nice person guiding us by some of the major sights of Bruges telling illustrating stories, good experience. Thank you.
This was an amazing experience - this women (I forget her name, but she has a 13 yr old daughter and her husband works on the boats). Is the highlight of our trip- she loves Brugge. She knows Brugge and should be telling stories to anyone who will listen…. This was fun interactive and entertaining. - loved learning the history and she answered all my questions 😊
