Once i realised that the display is predominantly lithographs and limited edition prints I could appreciate it a little more.

After years of collecting and research, the permanent Museum-Gallery Xpo Salvador Dalí Marquis de Púbol opened in the belfry of Bruges. The outstanding collection of sculptures and famous works of graphic art are on display in a unique and exclusive building, which has been decorated by Barron Saint Mythelfinger, the 360° artist-designer of Grand Opera Decor. He transformed the medieval hall into a Dalínian showroom, a work of art itself. Coloured gold, mother-of-pearl, and shocking pink. The exhibition room also has a shop where you find a selection of original quality works with certification for sale. The exhibition is located in the Adornes hall of the Belfry, Markt 7 in 8000 Bruges. Since 2020 the museum makes part of The Dali Universe group.

Great exhibit. Very easy to find. I was relieved you do not actually need to print the ticket out, especially since there’s no mention of that until after you purchase, they had a printout ready for me. Small, but they had some really interesting pieces. You could easily tear thru it in under 30 mins if you’re pressed for time. I also enjoyed the Dali quotes posted around the exhibit space. They do offer a narration option but that was an additional cost. If you are a fan of Dali and his works, I definitely recommend checking this exhibit out.
Good exhibition of Dali's works. We didn't use the audio guide and found the notes adjacent to groups of pictures sufficient. Some of his art is pretty graphic so it's not for children, but it's well laid out and is an interesting way to spend an hour. If you like the surreal definitely go!
It's cheap enough to enter so if you are a fan it's probably worth a look. The museum feels like it was curated many years ago and is looking very tired and in need of a refresh. I don't believe the artwork is displayed or shown with best effect. There are some nice pieces to admire but the whole place is drab, dull and uninspiring.
What an interesting exhibition! The reception was warm and friendly and the exhibition hugely impressive. Even if you don’t like Dali it is well worth a visit.
Location is the best, on the Historic Square. This is a Gallery of Salvador Dali Originals in a perfect setting.
Small exhibition but really worth seeing. Lots of information about Dali . Costs less than 10 euros . Takes about an hour to go round
It is nog big but very nice and super nice building. And good quality of the diverse work of Salvador Dali
I spent a little bit of time reading the other reviews before writing this, to see if I agreed with them or not. So firstly my family and I stumbled upon this little gallery, and what a treat. I am a huge Dali fan, so this was perfect, we paid to get in, and spent over an hour looking around. Yes this is not for children, given some of the pieces, but if you know anything about Dali then you would know that, so know your artist before providing a bad review for content. I found the staff here were super great! Very knowledgeable and on top of it all you can purchase original Dali work here. This is not your typical Belgium attraction, but who cares, it is a great little nook to go visit if you are a fan of this artist's work, you rarely get to see so much of his older (less popular) work. Thanks for the experience! I'll bring my sister next time, she's a huge fan.
A good exhibition of Dali’s paintings and sculptures. Really interesting pieces from a unique artist. A good way to spend an hour. Really wish they would sort the floorboards out though as they were very squeaky and annoying
Really disappointed. Not only was it a very basic and boring museum (as I now see other reviews state) but it was totally unsuitable for children. Lots of erotic and very detailed sex acts of all kinds depicted... Not what I wanted my children to see! No indication whatsoever that this would be the case. Really unsuitable.
Exhibition was closed because they didn't have any electricity. Went back 2 times, still no electricity. Sad.
There was an interesting collection of minor works. It felt like a good introduction to the artist. I liked the inclusion of the mixed media film.
Original art lovely setting and friendly staff A must see even if you don’t see many art galleries at her me this s so with the trip
Very Disappointing - poorly curated display. We left wishing we’d not bothered. It felt that the exhibition had been set up ages ago and neglected since then. Perhaps it’s purely a sales exercise for buyers who collect his works?
A great little exhibition! Lots of intriguing and beautiful works to look at but also small enough to maintain interest throughout as it doesn’t take too long. €10 for myself and my 10 year old daughter to go in which we thought was very reasonable.
It is value for money and worth seeing. Unfortunately, our visit was ruined by a dreadful old lady who works there. She was very rude to my mother and I because we missed the closed sign and came in 60 seconds before opening time. We both immediately apologised and went to leave. She insisted on being condescending and sarcastic towards us which was quite embarrassing. As we finished our tour I did approach her to apologise for entering early and I took the opportunity to point out to her that she had ruined our visit and she must learn not to speak to people in such a way again. She replied with rudeness. This person will not take responsibility or learn from mistakes. Sadly mine and my mother’s visit was wasted but we found other places in Bruges very welcoming and beautiful. Just avoid here maybe.
This experience provided accurate instructions on how to redeem this experience at the museum. The exhibit venue was unusual, and some of Dali’s works were not on display (the sacrament of the Last Supper, others were disturbing. Not my favorite exhibit.
Lots of originals but no major works. Was great though, centrally located on the main market square. Some originals on sale
It’s must do if you’re a fan of his work! Lots of pieces that I haven’t seen before and you could even buy some! Usually takes about an hour and half for you to go around the whole gallery.
Shocking customer service ,made to feel a nuisance for asking questions about entry to the place.Lady was patronising,no enthusiasm for the art and rushed us as wanting to close early -4.30pm!!Tuttering around the exhibition,no appreciate for the art.I wasn't a fan ,unlike my partner and it spoilt the experience. Won't recommend unless staff are re trained
A surprising find, curated in Bruges' famed Belfry building, with obvious limitations. Off-season, on a wet weekday, a very leisurely visit at modest cost. It explores his relationship with authors, past and present. I dallied (pun intended) rather too long at the Brunel/Dali film collaboration - none the wiser!
Some of the exhibits were damaged and pictures wonky. Some nice pieces of art but 30mins and you’re done. Not for children as quite a few erotic pieces, don’t think I’d like to explain when they ask, what is that?
Absolutely fabulous, everything we had hoped. We feel very lucky to be able to spend the time to enjoy the Dali Exhibition.
Interesting exbition. When you are into Salvador Dali, you should definitely visit and admire the amazing and somewhat kinky shades of this famous personality.
Incredible Dali exhibit. This one features a lot of his tributes and collaborations with authors like Hemingway and Walt Disney. The sculptures are magnificent too. I have seen many Dali exhibitions, but this one focuses more on his lesser known works and teaches another aspect of his life of which I was not aware. This museum is very affordable at only 10 Euro a ticket and will keep you spellbound for a couple of hours. It is well laid out. For 2 additional Euro, you can get an audio guide in various languages to tell the whole story. This is a must see for any art lover!
Really lovely to see such a large collection of dali’s works, and to read about the thought process that went into some of them. quite quiet but this was nice as it meant you could go through at a leisurely pace and enjoy the artworks in peace. there was a great mixture of prints, paintings and sculptures to see. at the end you could by prints or some actual pieces if you wished.
A must see if you like Dali! The exhibition has an great selection of work, and although it's not full of the Dali's most famous works, it's an impressive experience to walk through his lesser know pieces and prints and see his style develop. The area is well presented so you feel immersed in the art work. We spent approximately 30mins and saw everything. If you don't connect with Dali's style, you won't be missing much, but if you're interested in his work, it's a real treat.
We booked this event when we were booking our hotel for Bruges as we like a lot of his works and it was great. Having been to several Dali exhibitions this was the one that stood out for me - I have never seen so many pieces of his work on display all in one place before - it was fantastic.
The visit was good but smaller than expected. Range of sculptures, drawings and paintings. Took just over an hour to view.
Wonderful exhibition and friendly staff . Would definitely recommend this to anyone in Bruges . Fantastic
We had read the reviews but decided to check it out and as others have said, we left feeling very disappointed. It was still interesting to see some of his sketches etc. but overall, not worth it.
I loved the sculptures which were a surprise for me. Also the way the pieces were installed was really clever and beautiful.
This exhibition is a very poor representation of Dali’s work, and it’s the most underwhelming gallery I’ve visited. Not only are none of his most prominent pieces on display, but the actual show is unprofessional and curated poorly. There was no ‘flow’ or cohesion in the display, and almost no description of who Dali was, what he achieved, and why. The centre display booths are so poorly made that they creak VERY loudly when you walk on them. They totally detract from the artwork as all you can hear are obnoxiously loud creaking noises, and you’re cognisant of making so much noise around other visitors. They are terrible. If you have a backpack, you must store it away and you literally just put your bag behind a random desk with everyone else’s bags and hope it doesn’t get pinched… This is an incredibly underwhelming exhibition and a poor representation of Dali. Honestly, just take your money elsewhere.
Bruges is a magical beautiful place to visit and I would recommend it unreservedly. However, as a massive Dali fan, I can honestly say that I have more Dali prints and memoribalia at home than the "exhibition" here.
It was all the worst work of Dali, like the left overs other museums didn’t want. Extremely disappointed.
Original sculptures and wood carved prints No paintings, a disappointment. I expected originals as a traveling exhibit.
Watching he work of Dali and listening to the audio-guide was a fruitful combination, especially for our younger daughter!
Seeing a large body of his work together. Trying to understand his genius and his obsession with sexuality
Visiting surrealistic art is always very gratifying when with children. They observe so well and give afresh look on the art
Being amongst his works. Audio was good too. Loved the graphic illustrations best. What a mind he had!
It's not the most inspiring space, I've been to many of Dali's exhibitions in the past, it felt lifeless and uninspiring. The art wasn't to fault, the layout and unorganised mayhem of the room along with the added need to refresh the space gave it an unloved feel, it did Dali no favours. What a shame to have these pieces of art at your disposal and not display them as they deserve to be.
Interesting set of Dali's small sketches and sculptures where even he states that he's no idea of their meaning when he's drawing/painting them! Go check out the exhibition and see for yourself ;)
PLEASE DON'T GO. The most disappointing exhibition I have ever visited. About the content, the exhibition only displays copies of etchings and engravings, no original pieces. The lack of respect towards Dalí's artwork is outrageous. The whole exhibition is arranged in a tacky way. Etchings and engravings hang crooked, some things are falling apart, even fans are parked in front of one of the pictures. One of the sculptures had remains of glue on it, after we indicated it to the person in charge she claimed it not to be important because it is not for sale and called it "just decoration". After we walked past her she called us idiots, which was clear even if we don't speak Flemish. If you are at the square visit the exhibition next to it. At least, the city should stop advertising it in their official site.
I love Dalí's work and was quite excited to see this exhibition. I do have to admit that I left a little disappointed. While there is a great variety of Dalí's work on display, but the way they're arranged seems a bit disjointed and sometimes somewhat hidden. There's an audio tour available, which is really good and I definitely recommend it! It does help to understand the decisions behind the arrangements a little better. There are two raised areas in the middle of the exhibition, which set them apart from the other works. Unfortunately the platforms are poorly constructed and extremely loud. They creak and squeal as people walk along them, which is very distracting when you're trying to listen to the audio guide. Still, a beautiful collection of artworks and worth seeing despite the few niggles.
Great mix of artefacts and installations - very informative - got to know more about the man behind the art
The Dali exhibition in Bruges is situated in the Market Square and is just under a mile’s walk from the train station. There is a large collection of work randomly displayed. Much of it is sexually explicit which may not to be many people’s taste. I enjoyed some of the sculptures on show, particularly the melting clock. However, it appeared that the prime object of the exhibition was to sell many of the items, especially the ceramics I spent around half an hour viewing and the admission fee was €10.
We Booker for 10 AM, but the exhibitionisme opened only at 11 AM. When we returned at 11 AM, our skip-the-line tickets did not allowe us to skip the line, but meant additional waiting, because the cashier could not find our booking. For us, this was a one time only. The exhibition itself was interesting.
Must see! More items then expected. No oil paintings but absolutely impressive. Also a lot of work for sale
Rude reception employee refused to accept the CDC vaccine card to enter the museum. She said other US citizens had the required EU COVID pass but she didn’t know how they received it. She said we should have figured this out before trying to go to Belgium. We went to a nearby pharmacy, paid $30 each for a test (even though we are all vaccinated and have booster shots), and waited for 3 hours for the results to be able to enter the museum.
