The tour guide (Koen) was brilliant, enthusiastic, and an exceptional communicator. He readily answered every question I asked; was patient and his command of English is superb.

Fun, thorough, and informative tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had an engaging personality.
Great tour that provided a great glimpse at Brugge and the history. Our guide was very knowledgeable.
Our guide Koen, who just happens to be a medieval historian and reenactor was the BEST! With him this was not your typical tour. He KNOWS Bruges and took us to places, with tips about where to go and what to do afterward, that one does not always get. For one, the Den Goude Karpel fish restaurant is worth finding and reserving (across from fish market). Bruges is such a cool, romantic city and we are happy we were fortunate enough to start seeing it with Koen.
A tour with a genuine map maker and historian was amazing. Koen took extra time with us and was willing to cater to our every whim and answer our many questions about Bruges. A true scholar and enthusiastic guide.
Wonderful tour! Absolutely loved this tour, saw the beautiful city but also learned all the rich history of Bruges too. He was very passionate, Knowledgeable and kind. This was a highlight of the trip!
Fantastic 3 hour tour of major Bruges buildings and even a private residence. Koen was very friendly and knowledgeable.
We had an awesome experience with our guide Raf. A true local of Bruge who went the extra mile, in compromising weather, too ensure that we saw all the highlights of his hometown !
VIGOR CLIUS is an excellent guide. His love of Bruges coupled with his wealth of knowledge made the tour. Walking the streets he brought the city to life in medieval times. He showed us details easily overlooked. I highly recommend this tour for a day in Bruges.
Raphael is a local born and bred guide with a rich knowledge of the history of Briges as well as personal anecdotes that make the story come to life. A good listener as well so as to make the tour customized to our interests. Saw the high spots over 2 exhilirating hours. Would highly recommend the tour and Raphael in particular.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide as extremely knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about Bruges. We couldn’t have had a better experience. We saw and learned about the history of Bruges that one book would not have covered. Highly recommend.
Dmitri was a wonderful guide. He also works as an elementary school teacher and he is a gifted story teller. He was hugely informative and totally charming. He made the tour come alive. We were sorry to see it end. Recommend Dimitri most highly. You’ll be glad you picked him
We had been told that Bruge was a beautiful, must-see city, but we had only one day there. Our private tour (four of us) with Coen was just what we needed: a knowledgeable and personable guide with an obvious interest and education in the history of the area. He listened to our questions and answered them, rather than depending on a prepared tour speech. We felt that in our 2.5 hours we saw a lot of Bruge and learned much about the history of the city and its early importance to the world economy. We highly recommend this tour.
Amazing! Koen did a fantastic job - one of our absolute favorite tours. Very knowledgeable and we loved the intimacy of our small group. Highly recommend!
Raphael, our guide, had lived in Brugge all his life and was able to provide some additional historic information during our tour. It was one of the best tours we have ever taken! Raphael was so proud of his city and his passion for it made the city of Brugge come alive for us.
Koen was wonderful! He was so engaging and was able to really put the history of Bruges into perspective for our family. He was adaptable and patient with our younger children and was happy to give us more information and answer all questions. His passion and knowledge made this tour a must do! I'd suggest doing this tour earlier in your trip if possible because he had so many wonderful local suggestions that could have helped us better prioritize our visit.
Our family had the good fortune of taking Koen's tour through Bruges in June, and we highly recommend it! He kept us interested in the history, architecture, stories and unique facts about this beautiful city throughout the entire tour. We learned quite a bit in the 2.5 hour tour, but I think we could have spent days with him and would learn only a fraction of what he knows about Bruges. We would love to return there again, and when we do, we plan to contact Koen. Koen, thank you for making our visit to your city so memorable!
Koen was an excellent and knowledgeable guide, with an encyclopedic understanding of Brugges, friendly and flexible, the best guide I have ever had in Europe, highly recommended.
We didn't know anything about Bruges before this tour. Despite the vast difference between our (total lack of) knowledge and Koen's PhD-level expertise regarding Bruges, we had a fantastic time together. He was able to provide basic tourist-level info and also rich, historic context for all of the places he showed us. We have taken some great city tours, but we have never taken a tour from someone with as much local knowledge as Koen. The best part was that he didn't just talk at us, he encouraged us to ask questions and we ended up learning so much about this beautiful city!
If you are looking to experience more than the superficial charms of Bruges, then a walking tour with Koen is a must. Koen was a fund of information about his home town, its history, its architecture and its central place in the medieval world. To top it all off, Koen recommended an excellent bar and restaurant for dinner that was vastly superior to the overpriced tourist traps. Highly recommended.
Travelling with Koen is a perfect way to explore the city. Although I’m familiar with the history of the city. Koen, as a local historian and very passionate about his city, could surprise me with fun facts and interesting insights. Unique experience
What a splendid tour this was. Koen has a vast knowledge about the city of Bruges and medieval history in general. Next to telling a fabulous story he has shown me all the nooks and cranny's of the city. Very much recommended if you have some time to spare and don't want to join big groups.
Interesting, historical relevant, good entertainer, unique experience, open for last minute changes.
Excellent tour in Bruges with an enthusiastic, charismatic and knowledgeable guide! Koen knows a lot of details about the city and brings history back to life. Definitely recommend!!
We were in Bruges at Pentecost and happened to be on this tour. Koen is a historian and grew up in Bruges. He is a veritable encyclopedia of Bruges' history and can pass on information in an exciting way. We often do city tours - but we've never had such a great tour guide.
Very good knowledge of the history in and around Bruges. Extraordinarily translated into human language, accessible to everyone...
It was a very educational tour, I was never bored for a moment. The guide Koen really knows what he is talking about! Highly recommended!
