Fabulous experience really enjoyable for both adults and children. Great instructor and good freedom to create your own designs

This was a great option for the kids, I looked at a few others that were likely more technical but they wouldn't allow children in the age group I needed so this was a great compromise. The kids had a blast and made enough chocolate to take back home to their school class. It was fun enough as an adult learning some tips and tricks for making better chocolate treats at home. Plus we had a great time going through the museum too.
Lovely experience. Excellent instruction and was a lot of fun to make our own chocolate creations. Thank you for letting us take them home and also for the complimentary apron! Thank you so much. We all had fun doing it.
Loved the workshop! The chocolatier gave a thorough and clear demonstration of how to use the piping bags and the variety of shapes you can create. It was a really relaxed environment. 10/10
So it is less about making chocolate and more about how to make shapes out of the chocolate. The museum was good. Definitely something to do if you’re there for several days but I would bypass it if you’re there for one day
Had a great time as a family decorating chocolate. You don’t learn about the chocolate making within the workshop you just get to create your own chocolate bars and shapes. Good fun and then you can visit the museum tour after - leave yourself plenty of time for that too as it’s quite detailed with an audio tour.
I do a lot of viator experiences and many cooking ones. I thought this was disappointing. I guess it is partly my fault for not reading the reviews closely, and just basing my decision on the overall reviews. This is the chocolate museum in Brugge. I did not have any interest in visiting it. So you basically do a chocolate making experience with the staff at the museum. They are not good. Not personable. Not like cooking classes you have done before. It was large. I don't know. Maybe 20 people. I would recommend you look at another smaller more intimate experience not associated with the museum. 50 dollars a piece for the experience was way too high. This was like a 20 dollar experience, and that is generous. I might be somewhat biased, because I had just done the beer and waffle making class in Brugge that morning, and it was 100 times better. This was basically ok.
Going in I expected a fun, if touristy, experience and got exactly what I wanted out of it a fun hour of playing with chocolate. You have access to three types of chocolate- blonde [caramelized white], milk and dark for your base plus about a dozen options for toppings plus designs you can trace on to your chocolate - you can make as much as you want in the time given and you get to keep the apron as well. Only complaint was that the workshop area while cooler than the rest of the museum by far, it was not cool enough - the blonde chocolate in particular has trouble setting (making it a race against the clock to ensure you could take it with you) and all the chocolate lost its temper. Hardly something I'm going to deduct points for, but if you were thinking of using the blonde chocolate I'd absolutely start with that first and the chocolates may not be as shiny as you expect. All in all though, a very fun activities for all ages - the 6+ rating seems appropriate for the dexterity needed.
My teenage daughter and I loved this activity. It was fun, engaging and well priced. Who wouldn't love chocolate and a free apron? I would highly recommend this experience.
Great fun. I won’t make a chocolatier but thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The guide was helpful and knowledgeable.
The chocolate making workshop was excellent and Thomas our host was brilliant. The whole family enjoyed it, we have 2 boys aged 12 and 14 and theynloved it! Plus we came away with a wonderful haul of hand decorated, yummy chocolates!
Great experience to go and make chocolate. Tutorial was quick and well explained and then we enjoyed the time making our chocolate.
We found the museum pretty uninspiring and old. The workshop however was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
Very nice museum on multiple floors (there's an elevator, if needed). Brief chocolate (praline) demonstration & tasting. Making chocolate - lots of fun squeezing out premade chocolate onto a surface, decorate, be creative. Would highly recommend. Staff is very helpful!
Went with my wife on our honeymoon. Workshop was really cool. Our chocolatier was super personable and quite funny, which really elevated the experience. We made so many chocolates... we ate them over the next 3 days and still had some leftover. A touch pricey, but the value was there as it was certainly an experience. The museum was ok. The audio tour was pretty kitchy but made things a bit more interesting.
My two friends and I did the hour long chocolate making workshop followed by museum tour. The workshop was so much fun! The demonstration was straight forward and pacey and you were left to be as creative as you dared! Everything is provided for you and you leave with all the chocolate you've made plus an apron! The museum tour uses an audio guide where you can choose what you want more detail on to listen to. It was much bigger than anticipated. It isn't hugely interactive but is visual and each audio clip ranges from 5 seconds to 2 minutes so children would be fine. The workshop itself is brilliant.
I had a fabulous time at the Chocolate Workshop and ChocoStory Museum! The museum was so gracious to accommodate my early arrival so I toured the museum first. It was very informative and interactive. I then went to the chocolate workshop which was amazing!! Thomas was our Instructor and he did a fantastic job!! He clearly demonstrated what we would be doing and then we had the opportunity to apply what we were just shown. Thomas was very attentive to us all through out! What a sweet treat to take both the chocolate we made and the apron with us! Thank you Thomas for a fantastic workshop! I would highly recommend this tour!!
Fun time! We didn't have time for the chocolate museum, and none of that information was covered in the class, nor did we discuss how the chocolate was made. It really is more of an arts and craft experience of making shapes out of the melted chocolate. That said, we left with a ton of really good chocolate and had a fun time!
Hands on and very fun chocolate making. Good for kids too. Highly recommend!!!! A must do!!!!!!!!!!!
Great experience and chocolate was very good. Very creative. We all ready enjoyed it. We are a lot of chocolate.
Brilliant experience. Hands on experience making chocolate. Patient and welcoming guide who gave clear instructions and was on hand to help throughout. Very clean and safe environment and lots of fun!! Got to take away everything we made and very good value. Whether adult or child, lots of fun to be had!!
We had a wonderful time and had so much fun!! Would recommend this for anyone!! Bonus was able to finish out on a tour of the museum.
We really enjoyed this experience, such fun! We all walked out with huge smiles on our faces. Highly recommend for all. Thanks so much, we will be back.
I wasn't really expecting a great deal from this, but it was a great workshop. Jackie the chocolatier was very helpful and ljust ovely. I was expecting to come home with a lollipop and a small bar, but we came home with loads which we were able to.pop into little plastic gift bags. Had an absolutely fab time, thanks so much.
A really enjoyable experience with children. Thomas who took our session was great, funny and very helpful. Made lots of chocolate to take home. A must do when in Brugge.
Bruges is a delight and should be on everyone’s list. The chocolate museum workshop, on the other hand, was a let-down. The idea of making little chocolate designs on wax paper sounded quirky and enjoyable, but the session itself was fairly flat. What made it worse was the host, Laurence. Instead of sharing enthusiasm for Bruges’ famous chocolate culture, he came across as detached and condescending, as if the whole thing was beneath him. Our kids, both 13, didn’t dare ask for more chocolate when theirs set, worried they’d be told off. When I asked for them, the response was equally unwelcoming. At EUR 45 a head, you expect at least a smile. The low point came right at the end, when Laurence leaned over, pulled the piping bag away, and told me off in front of the family while I was finishing my chocolate ice-cream lollipop. Bruges itself is fantastic — come for the waffles, the beer, and the food. But the workshop was joyless, run by someone carrying the weight of two friets on one shoulder [sic]. Best avoided.
A Fantastic experience, went as a family of four with kids aged 12 and 9, both really enjoyed it, made absolutely loads of chocolate. The workshop lasts a good amount of time, you are told what to do and then left to get on with it with opportunities to use lots of chocolate, milk, dark and white. Toppings of various types can be added, then one all set you bag them up, lovely for gifts or just to eat! I suggest doing this after the museum tour as you'll have a lot of chocolate to carry round with you. Staff were very friendly, workshop was given in English but the staff spoke other languages. All staff were friendly and welcoming and helpful.
This workshop was incredible! Tess was the instructor, and was just the sweetest. She made the experience very enjoyable. I can say it was 100% worth the money. You get to take home all of the chocolate you make, plus get to see the museum. I will recommend this to all of my traveler friends.
Excellent experience! Loved it! My son particularly had a great time making chocolates and taking them back home!
We had a short talk and demonstration on how to make our own chocolate bars and were given the choice of which chocolate to use and which toppings to put on. We then had around 45 minutes to make our own chocolate creations. We all loved it and made so much chocolate which we were able to take home. Our ticket also included the chocolate museum self guided tour which unfortunately we ran out of time to do afterwards. (Two adults and two kids aged 10 and 7.)
It was chaos to enter, following queuing for 20 mins. Chaotic route theough. Immersive it isn’t. Half hour of life that I won’t get back…. But that seems rude. Some people will enjoy
"Delighted with the Choco Story museum and chocolate making workshop! The museum was engaging and interactive, offering a wealth of knowledge about cocoa beans and Belgian chocolate. The workshop was the perfect hands-on complement, with hosts who were kind, patient, and professional. They made learning a joy, and I had a blast creating my own chocolates. A sweet and memorable morning in every way! Highly recommend for chocolate lovers of all ages."
It was a great experience. We had the freedom to make our own chocolate creations and there was no limit on the amount of chocolate we could use. There was also a choice of toppings and stencils for us to trace. Would definitely do this again. We took home our bags of chocolate and the aprons we wore. Great fun.
Everyone loved making the chocolate. It was fun, artistic and tasty. Will be a top contender for favorite part of our family vacation,
Really good fun. We got to take lots of chocolate home... and the apron. The instructor was helpful. My daughter and I loved it. Top tip: I would recommend bringing a cool bag and ice if it's a hot day because some of our chocolates got melted together afterwards.
This was a great experience!! Best customer service . Would love to do this again with family. Chocolate was heaven.
This was a fun family experience. There were 3 different types of chocolate to choose from, the instructor provided a good explanation and demonstration. She allowed us to pick as many toppings as we wanted and change chocolate flavors whenever we wanted as well. The amount of chocolate we were able to make and take with us was crazy and we will be eating it forever!
An opportunity to make as much chocolate as you can within a given time and then to package them beautifully afterwards too. The actual workshop tutorial was short but this was perfect for our family who enjoyed getting hands on and came away with more chocolate than we know what to do with!! Brilliant experience!
Amazing experience, lovely demonstrators and lots of chocolate! Well worth the money, and the included visit round the museum is interesting
It was harder than I thought to make cookies from the chocolate provided, but it was a great time, my wife made some fantastic shapes we both had a great time
The instructor was wonderful; clear and concise. Most of our time there was hands-on. We were a group of six, placed at the same work station and worked individually but also could help each other out. Since we were permitted to take home our handiwork, yummy chocolates, we worked fast! All six of us loved this experience and would highly recommend. By the way, the museum was an unexpected pleasure. Who knew there was so much to learn about the art and science of all things chocolate? Bottom line: go, learn, enjoy, make chocolate, eat chocolate!
We had a great time. I felt like I was on one of those competitive cooking shows. The more chocolate you make the more you get to bring home. I have been home for three weeks and I am still eating it. Also it is top.quality chocolate. Do it!
Loved Brugge. Had a great time making chocolate with our family. An experience we will remember always.
We arrived at the museum an hour before our workshop and really enjoyed the self guided audio tour. We all learned things we didn’t know about chocolate and enjoyed the narrative and interactive stations. This knowledge set us up very well for the chocolate making session we had booked. The chocolate workshop was so much fun. Very professionally run with a clear brief to start and good supervision throughout. Hygiene is taken seriously and the kitchen area is clean, bright and very well set up. The children loved making all sorts of treats and became more adventurous as the session went on. At the end there are bags provided to wrap the treats and everyone left with a large orange bag full of chocolate goodies. It was our youngest son’s birthday and the team made him feel very special- personalising a chocolate bar for him and giving him an additional bar to take away. Everyone in the family agreed the workshop was the highlight of our day and likely to be remembered as the best experience of our whole time in beautiful Bruges. Would highly recommend.
The funny thing about this is that we didn't get that much of a lesson. The chef showed us the basics and then we were basically free to make whatever we wanted, however we wanted. For the two kids (11 and 7), that was probably perfect!
Making dark chocolate figures and tasting them. The museum was nice but crowded. I like the audio tapes.
This was the perfect experience for families with kids. You are not making chocolate but using their delicious chocolate to create your own chocolates/truffles. My kids loved decorating the chocolate and making chocolate lollipops.
It was okay. My friends liked making the chocolates. It felt a bit rushed. We toured the museum a little afterwards and it was dusty and not kept up.
The chocolatier was very informative and funny. We got to make lots of chocolate which saved us money from the many shops in town. It was a fun experience and definitely the highlight of the museum.
We had a good family experience, learning and fun at the same time, plus the kids loved eating the chocolate shapes they made later on in the day .
