My friend and I used Steve as our walking tour guide. He was wonderful. Smart, humorous and a wealth of knowledge.

Our guide Steve was one of the best walking tour guides that I have had. He is funny, entertaining and extremely knowledgeable. I would highly recommend booking a tour with him.
What more can I possibly add to all these 5-star reviews? Steve is funny, articulate, entertaining, and has mastered the art of delivering what might otherwise be occasionally dry history in a way in which I can easily recall much of what I learned on this two-hour tour. He reminds me of a cross between David Letterman and Jason Segel, with a spoonful of Steve Martin thrown in. An opportunity not to be missed.
Our group of 4 adults from the UK went on one of Steve’s ‘Bruges walking tours with history & humour’. Steve has a great knowledge of the history of Bruges and a very unique delivery, including the whole group of c.16 people from various countries. He is a natural ‘teacher’ and has a great charismatic personality. Loved the waffle & chocolate tasting and his warmth and friendship with the traders and business owners we met along the way. Highly recommended!
What an entertaining afternoon! ...and the bonus was learning all about the tapestry of sites and history surrounding Bruges. Steve is a consummate guide, an entertainer, and a walking encyclopedia of Bruges (he's lived here for 18 years). Don't hesitate, just sign up for the tour!
Steve is a very enthusiastic and entertaining tour guide. He injects humour throughout his knowledgeable journey. Steve also likes to drop the occasional English etymology along the way and, while some of it is a bit questionable, it adds another dimension that contributes to the fun.
Steve led a really fun, educational, and delicious sampling of the essence of Bruges and its historical high points. Would recommend for anyone. He did a great job of engaging with each person on the tour, and getting us to engage with each other.
Steven was great, very funny! Tour was interesting and entertaining. Highly recommended this tour!!!
Stephen was accommodating, fun and full of knowledge. Amazing energy and engagement to the people. Always went above and beyond.
It was great! The guy's full of personality. He makes the tour super memorable. Full of different kinds of informations. The tour was free so i was olaning on not paying but it was so good I feelt I have to pay to support this.
We really enjoyed our tour with Steve. He made the information and area easy to understand & shared a lot of what he loves about Brugge. We would recommend this to couples and families. He's also a balloon artist & our kids enjoyed the balloon bears at the end!
Steve was an amazing guide! He told us so much history about the city but in a fun, interactive way! We were traveling with kids, 14 and 12, and this was our fourth country we visited. After almost two weeks of travel and many tours, it can be difficult for kids to stay engaged but Steve made it so great and they said they would have been happy to have it be longer! All four of us decided Bruges was our favorite visit and Steve was a huge part of that!! We want to come back for sure!!!
Our food tour with Steve from Across Bruges was one of the highlights of our stay in Bruges. We tasted a wonderful variety of local Bruges specialties while learning fascinating history along the way. Steve was friendly, knowledgeable, and an excellent guide. The tour was well organized, fun and an outstanding value. Highly recommended!
Steve was brilliant. He’s really fun, knowledgable, super personable and includes you in the tour. I’ve done lots of walking tours in lots of cuties and his was hands down one of the best. Plus, he got us waffle samples, chocolate samples and recommended great places to eat and drink. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would nightly recommend it anyone visiting Bruge.
Super great tour. Best tour guide ive had. He was very funny and explained the tour in a very fun way, not the typical tour. He gave us a lot of free samples so we try authentic food and took us to so many different places. He gave fun facts. I would SUPER recommend you have your tour with him.
Steve was an excellent guide and made the tour interesting and fun. Would highly recommend while in this beautiful city.
Steve just talked to us in the square and we r so glad he did! He absolutely made our day this was so absolutely wonderful we can’t truly recommend him enough so glad we stumbled into him and this tour! 5 stars for sure
Steve is a charismatic and entertaining guide with a feast of knowledge and snacks for everyone involved.
Steve is just amazing. Don’t even look anywhere else. Just use him. We travel with kids (8 and 11) and grandparents. We all had fun, and everyone laughed so much. Steve is so knowledgeable with the history and is super entertaining for everyone in the group. He also made effort to include everyone in his storytelling. This tour is worth so much more than any cruise tour that were offered to us. So glad we did it and will do it again with Steve being the guide.
The tour took about 2h, which went quite fast. There was a lot to see and a lot to hear from Steve. Indeed, he provided a vivid walk along the main spots of Bruges History, never letting you rest from major events, odd architectural features or (many) funny stories about - some presented in a theatrical way, of which you may be part of. Steve has a notorious ability to chat with his walking tourists and to rapidly establish conversation with others should the occasion happen: e.g., a pair of Geocachers or a bunch of northern England passers-by enjoying their stroll. In the meantime, you will taste the real Belgian fries or a delicious chocolate truffle, will enter a waffle-maker shop or a Belgian beer shop, where you may return after the tour. A colorful experience to remember and to recommend.
Steve was great! He made it fun.
Steve gave us s great tour of Bruges hidden jems . Authentic Waffles , The Beer Hall devine chocolate and secret little spots along the way . Even his own little hidden lunch spot secluded on the canal . His humour , knowledge of the town and anecdotes made for a memorable experience . Thanks Steve and would recommend this tour to anyone wanting a bit of fun as well as history and knowledge thrown in as well .
What a wonderful tour this was! Compared to other tours , this one is pretty unique, fun and interesting , because Steven ís fun and a one of a kind storyteller with great knowledge. He also shared his good taste in Belgian chocolates and waffles. Loved it!
We did a semi-private tour with Steve, and it was phenomenal! He took us into some local shops, where we tried samples of different waffles & chocolates. He gave us some insights into local restaurants, history and architecture. He's an American who now lives in Bruges, so along the way we met other locals in shops/restaurants who were just so friendly and helpful. We found one of our best dinners because we stopped to chat with some family friend of his. We wish we had planned at least 1 more day in Bruges, because it was our favorite stop on our month long European vacation.
Steve was a fantastic tour guide for all ages. He made the tour so fun and interesting for old and young. Would highly recommend for all ages. It brilliant way to see Bruges and even so hidden places too.
Well Steve certainly lived up to the title of "Intourtainer". My wife and I had walked around parts of Bruges for two days already (we couldn't join the tour on Day 1) but Steve still showed us hidden gems and places we hadn't seen as well as filling in the history behind all the amazing landmarks. As Steve suggests, the information was delivered more as a stroll with a friend having a chat, with anecdotes and interesting facts rather than a barrage of detail. He's clearly lived and loved Bruges, dropping into the best shops and establishments with a warm greeting to get you "behind the scenes" glimpses. Steve has helped us fall in love with Bruges and we can't wait to return and explore some more. I would highly recommend Steve. Steve & Kirsty (Nottingham - UK)
This is THE tour to do if you want to learn about history in a fun way. Steve is an excellent story teller, weaving in information in a way that's enjoyable to listen to, with etymology of phrases that were enlightening to learn the origins. AND, bonus for kiddos, are the fun ways he engages with them so they don't feel left out. Oh, and don't forget the waffle and chocolate tasting, as well as learning about the local beers. Absolutely the best tour I've ever been on, and would do it again!
Steve is fun! He is knowledgeable and showed us all the interesting sights in Brugge. He gave us tips on how to go about our day and his tours have some delicious tastings. Their his little surprises! We had a great conversations with him and he put us all at ease! No rushing and made it so interactive!
One of the best city tours we’ve been on. Steve is a fantastic host, super knowledgeable, great sense of humour, and brings something extra through his storytelling and connection to the locals!
Nothing comes close to a walking tour with Steve! All the expected knowledge, but with superb local perspective and an easy-going manner and sense of humor you're not going to find anywhere else...Steve uses the term "INTOURTAINER" and that captures it...you tour, you're informed and your are supremely entertained. And, the recommendations he makes are not the usual gratuitous pushes to some business - they are terrific leads to great places to sip, sample and see. EXCELLENT TOUR!
Fantastic tour and guide. This was a great way to find out a bit about the city and decide what we wanted to go see more off after. Steve gave us loads of information and history and kept it all fun so it did not become boring. I would highly recommend this tour. We even got samples of the local fries and chocolate as he took us to a couple of the better places to get the real deal but there was no pressure to buy. He gave us coupons so we could return later if we wanted to which we certainly did
Steve made us very welcome and relaxed as part of the group. He was very inclusive and made a special effort with teenagers in the group to keep them engaged through the role play and anecdotal stories he told. He also engaged with other tourists and locals to lessen any inconvenience the group may have caused during our tour. if you want an innovative and fun way of learning about this beautiful historic city, Steve’s your guide!!
Excellent Experience Very knowledgeable host Children enjoyed it We had a great time Thanks a lot for great experience
If you plan to visit Brugge I recommend strongly to book a tour with Steve. Lots of insights, humor and an out of the box view on the city. He will also show you where to really buy the best Belgian waffels and Chocolates. Thank you Steve, we had an awsome time and learned a lot!
From the minute we met Steve we knew we were getting more than just a another guide with alot of facts & figures - he's super knowledgeable & engaging and does his tours different to others. You have to do one to understand. He is witty, has interesting work history & a wonderful way of engaging everyone, and we mean everyone. Not just those on the tour but his connections around town and others in the street. We wouldn't recommend thinking about his tour we would say JUST DO THE TOUR We had a fantastic time
Thanks Steve for this amazing tour. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot about Bruges from you. It's really important to have a guide that understands and respects the city... You are this person. Was a great and enjoyable day with you. I really recommend you
Steve makes the tour interactive and engaging through narrative and trivia. He also adapts to his audience so they can get the most out of the experience. I can’t believe I’ve never done a walking tour before.
Steve was waiting for us when we arrived and by the time we had started the trip we were all at ease with each other. The tour was both interesting and thoroughly enjoyable, and Steve managed to balance factual information with a humourous delivery Steve seemed to know everybody and had numerous recommendations for places to visit, things to do, types of chocolate, beer and waffles. Best of all that we had samples of chocolate and waffles, fabulous tasting experience. We were not pressured in any way to purchase. Met some of his previous tour guests, who were also very complimentary about his knowledge and delivery. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a fun filled, factual tour, with some fantastic tasting experience. Thanks Steve
Superb, funny, informative, knowledgeable, friendly, well liked by the locals, did I say funny, a really lovely guy who obviously loves people. Thank you Steve. We will look out for you if we return!!!
This was such a wonderful tour!! Our guide, Steve was so personable and kept my kids attention throughout the entire tour (unheard of for my kids). We all loved the sites, the stories, and the delicious treats. It was the perfect start to our trip. Thank you very much Steve! I would 100% recommend this tour to everyone!
We had an absolutely fantastic guide: personable and full of historical and local information. Our guide took pictures of us and provided ample opportunity for us to explore and take pictures of all we saw. The chocolate and waffle samples were a bonus!
Really fun and informative tour of Bruges :) Steve was great. Friendly, funny and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
Steve was an incredible tour guide. I went with my mum as our first time in Belgium and we had lots of fun. The tour was tailored to our interest in architecture and was very informative. We went to some great food stops where we got to sample cherry waffles and chocolate and we learnt so much about the area. He was very kind and knew the city like the back of his hand! Would recommend doing this tour to everyone.
We had a lot of fun with Steve. He showed us around Brugge and told us very interesting things in a funny way! Would recommend Steve and his tour a million times! :)
Steve was a brilliant guide , a local with excellent knowledge of the area , history , art ….. and food . Very entertaining and enjoyable tour
Steve was a brilliant tour guide very knowledgeable of Bruges and knew a lot of the local businesses
Steve was very funny and made the experience very entertaining. He was also very kind to wait for us as we were a few minutes late to the meeting point.
We really enjoyed the tour with Steve. He provides lots of information and interesting facts and stories of the history of Bruges. He ensures his clients /tourists have fun and are engaged throughout the tour. He is very friendly with locals and tourists. Highly recommend doing a tour with Steve and Across Bruges.
