The staff who checked us in were very friendly. The hotel itself self is beautiful. Great canal front patio for a glass of wine after a day’s sightseeing. The location is perfect. Easy walking to everything we wanted to see during our 3 night stay. The room however, is a few year past need for updating. The carpet is so worn and stained it’s a real shame. Servicing of our room was also disappointing. The only thing done day 1 was the making of our bed. Garbages left full. Tissue empty. We had to call down for tissue and TP. Hate having to do that.

Stayed here in 2019 with my wife, on saturday we took our 4 year old to show him where his mum and dad stayed before he had arrived. The staff kindly let us in to have a drink and to let us show Leo where his mum and dad stayed. Skye from Michigan served us and was absolutely brilliant 👏 Good luck in your career Skye.
This hotel truly excels at hospitality! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with local chocolates, a complimentary drink, and a map of the town with personalized recommendations highlighted for us. The hotel is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in a perfect canal-front location. The rooms are spacious, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly comfortable. It’s easy to see why this hotel has been receiving recent accolades. I have no doubt it’s well on its way to earning a well-deserved five-star reputation. Highly recommend!
Absolutely perfect boutique-style hotel in the heart of Bruges, easy walking distance to all major attractions. The decor is gorgeous and charming, the layout fun and funky with little nooks and tucked-away seating places, including a small private outdoor area. Staff is cheerful and helpful. Breakfast includes delightful items such as roasted tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, and caramelized onions to use with your eggs if desired; an assortment of miniature breads and pastries; imitation crab salad and smoked salmon; and more! The cold items were kept on a chilled steel plate, and the hot items were kept in warmers. Our room was plush and romantic with large easy chairs and a raised bed with really comfy mattress, and we had a view of the canal. Bathroom was large and modern with a rain head shower. Cannot recommend highly enough! Our experience was 100%!
Planned for 1 night, ended up staying 2 Hotel De Orangerie is one of those rare places that captures the magic of Bruges the moment you walk in. We originally booked just one night, but the experience was so charming and comfortable that we decided to extend our stay. 🛏️ Room Our room was beautifully appointed, warm, and inviting, with that classic boutique style the hotel is known for. The bathroom was exceptionally large, elegant, and far more spacious than what you typically find in historic European buildings. The only minor issue was that the steam function didn’t work, but everything else in the room was excellent. 🛁 Facilities & Atmosphere - The hotel occupies a former 15th‑century convent, restored with impeccable taste. - Common areas feel intimate and refined, with fireplaces, rich fabrics, and a timeless charm. - Breakfast is a highlight: generous, beautifully presented, and served in a stunning room overlooking the canal. - The terrace by the water is a perfect spot to relax, especially in the late afternoon. 📍 Location The location is unbeatable. You’re right on one of the most picturesque canals in Bruges and within easy walking distance of the main squares, museums, shops, and restaurants. It’s central yet peaceful, which is a rare combination. 👥 Service The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and professional. The service reflects the hotel’s Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) standard—personalized, discreet, and genuinely welcoming. 🎯 Overall Hotel De Orangerie offers an authentic boutique experience that blends history, comfort, and elegance. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay longer than planned, just as we did. Aside from the small issue with the steam, everything else was truly excellent. A wonderful choice for anyone looking to enjoy the full charm of Bruges.
